The movers were prompt, professional and took great care of our belongings. Everything was delivered without a scratch, making an inheretly stressful process virtually stress free. A+

I first had a meeting with Andy who is very personable and knows his stuff. We were moving from a 4 bedroom house in MD to a 2 bed/2 bath apartment in VA until we find a new house. Andy was a little concerned about the size of my storage unit and the amount of stuff I wanted to put into it. He suggested we use one of their units if all our stuff didn't fit in the one we had rented close to our VA apartment. We did not have to pay to reserve his unit. Basically it was there if we needed it. I packed up most of our stuff since we wanted to save some money. Andy was fine with that and even told me how to wrap up all our pictures saving me an extra $276.00 Six men showed up on time with two large trucks and worked their you know what's off! We were so impressed. Not only did they get us moved from Maryland to VA quickly but they also fit all our stuff in the apartment and the one storage unit. The only problem they had was with the glass shelves in my breakfront. But Hosea kept at it unit those darn glass shelves came out without breaking nor scratching the inside of the breakfront. He gets a definite A plus from us! I put this info in so you know if they do encounter something unusual,l they will try their best to make it work. We will defiantly use them when we find our new house.

Called and set date. Came over and looked at items and detailed pricing on each item. Day of move arrived on time; professionalism was apparent; packed some glassware, wrapped furniture that was to be moved in thick blankets. All went smoothly. I would use again.

The move went really well and I would highly recommend Cambell Moving and will likely use them again for my future moves. When I scheduled the move I was given the option to go with either a two or three person moving team. I elected to go with the three person team which made the move go much more quickly. All of the team members were courteous and friendly and a pleasure to work with. The team leader was excellent. My appointment was for 9am and they arrived about 15 minutes early and got started right away. They also had no problem picking up an item from a second location that I did not previously tell them about.

I went with this mover based on all the great reviews on Angies List, however, I did not have a good experience. The estimator that came to my home was wonderful and really seemed to know his stuff. I felt confident in his estimate as he assured me they almost always come in under estimate, that it is more of a worst case scenario number. He also confidently addressed my biggest concern, our trampoline. He told me that it would fit on the truck without a doubt and if for some reason they couldn't get it on with our belongings they would come back for it the next day and all I would have to pay is gas cost for that. I had another company come out for an estimate that told me there was no way the trampoline would fit and if someone told me otherwise they were lying. I called the estimator back and told him this, he chuckled and assured me he had been doing this for so long he was sure there would be no problem. It was a huge problem. It didn't fit. They had to call in another guy to deal with this issue. We were charged for this additional man. He began trying to disassemble this thing and rods were cracking as he went, the base was banged with pieces of wood to get it apart...it was a total mess. This was a really nice trampoline, only a year old, over a thousand dollar investment, we used it for health/therapeutic reasons for my children in addition to recreation....it was their prized possession. They got it apart enough to get on the truck and took it to our new home. There they tried to reassemble it. Such a mess! The extra guy we were paying for could not get it together at all. One of the movers we were paying by the hour stopped unloading and messed around with the d*** thing for well over an hour. In the end over a year later it is still in our yard half assembled and useless. I went back and forth with phone calls to Campbell for months to have it repaired to no avail and eventually gave up. So disappointed. Our total charges were just shy of 300 dollars over the initial estimate which is nuts because we lost a mover to trampoline duty, had to pay extra for the guy to come destroy our trampoline, and the house we moved into was going to be renovated so everything was moved into the garage and basement....there was no taking anything upstairs or reassembling any furniture! They also put a sizable hole in our upstairs hallway. I understand these things happen i just wished they had brought it to our attention so i could have patched it for the new owner without having to get a frantic call about it from the realtor. I am not the type to complain, I always give the benefit of the doubt, but I had a terrible move with this company and Angies List sends me emails every week asking for my review....so there it is.

Three man crew that worked extremely hard. Moved items in the home as requested. On time and professional. Recommended.

They provided a very straightforward estimate, and even more importantly they stuck to their estimate to the penny. The estimate process was much more pleasant and simple than any of the other movers we interviewed. The service provided was very good, but there were a few miscommunications that were easily sorted out. The crew that did the actual move were very good and efficient, although there were occasions where there were language barriers to communications. In the end everything went very well and we would certainly use them again in the future.

It went so smoothly. They brought wardrobe boxes so our cloth stayed hung up and wrapped all of our furniture so carefully. Once at the new house they unpacked the furniture and left the boxes exactly as labeled. They were quick and efficient while still taking care. They treated my new home and floors very carefully. We will be moving again in a year or two, and I know who I will be using. All in all, it took less time and money then I expected and am so happy. The crew was very professional.

Initially there was a little snafu in that I originally scheduled to have Bill Campbell's crew come out on Wednesday morning, but when a crew didn't arrive I called them to see was going on. Apparently I was put in their reservation book for Friday. It turns out they sent me a confirmation e-mail a couple weeks before the move with the incorrect date and I overlooked this, so I could have avoided the pain I suppose. Fortunately Bill arranged to have a crew arrive after lunch. I was a bit apprehensive that I was going to have some inexperienced guys show up, but Bill's crew of three was great and I could tell they knew what they were doing. Bill quoted me 3-4 hours and the move took about 4 hours (not including the 1 hour travel fee) so I was fairly happy. The crew took a few breaks, but the condo was on the 3rd floor so it was understandable that they had to take breathers here and there. None of my items were damaged, so that justified the cost/hour somewhat. The wardrobe boxes were very helpful and it saved a lot of time with packing/unpacking. One minor nitpick I had was that I labeled most of my boxes with the destination location and some things ended up in the wrong rooms. I don't think they were really paying attention to the labels, but at the end of the day I was happy to have everything inside the house. Overall I was very happy with Campbell moving. They were very professional and I guess you get what you pay for, even if it means paying a premium. I'd use them again for a local move.

After calling countless moving companies, handymen, and appliance stores to see if anyone could swap out our brand new washer and dryer in our old house with the older pair in the house we just purchased, we finally came across Campbell moving. Everyone else refused the job. Though the company said they generally don't do that service themselves, they arranged/recommended one of their employees who does odd-jobs on the side (which is why I'm filing it here). Two men showed up on time, disconnected our old machines, wrapped them in padding, and set them up at the new location. They also did the same for the machines at the old location. They were also laid down padding on the floors/walls between the door and the laundry room to protect the houses. As a result. we'll be using them again in a couple weeks for the full move, but we can't stress enough how happy we were with them helping us on this smaller move. All the other moving companies and handymen either flat out refused or tried to charge us half the cost of moving our entire house just for the washer and dryer.

The move went wonderfully - the crew was professional, and extremely efficient. They took great care to wrap every piece of furniture with moving blankets and were very helpful in placing the furniture and wardrobe where I wanted it. I'll use Campbell for my next move without hesitation. It was a pretty painless move even though we went from a single house to a smaller townhouse!

Estimator visited my home to see, first hand, what services I needed, while other providers only submitted estimates by phone after I described my furnishings. Estimator was very professional, and explained my options very thoroughly. While the quoted price was a bit higher than others I contacted, I felt more assured that there would be no cost surprises in the costs at the end of my move.

We selected Campball Moving for our cross country move based on the Angie's List reviews and in-person research. We had 4 different moving companies come to our home to give us an estimate based on their physical evaluation of our stuff. In the end, we felt best about Campbell Moving based on various assurances from the salesman assigned to our account. Overall, we were a bit disappointed by Campbell. The primary reasons were difficulty communicating with the crews and the low quality of the boxes used by Campbell. After reading reviews on Angie's List, I was aware of the communication issues others have had with the crews. We spoke about this issue with the salesman and were reassured over and over that we would be assigned a well-experienced crew that could clearly speak English. When pack day arrived, we were served by Roberto and Juan (I believe his name was Juan but not positive). Roberto seemed extremely experienced and competent. He immediately tackled the kitchen which ended up taking 3 solid hours. Everything arrived unbroken and the boxes were well balanced, correctly padded, not over or under stuffed, etc. I am very grateful for his help. His assistant was clearly less experienced and could not speak English. This was very frustrating for several reasons, as one example all of our boxes ended up labeled in Spanish. We don't speak Spanish and certainly wouldn't expect a professional service company to serve us outside of its primary language. Juan was very inexperienced so the boxes were packed incorrectly, most problematic was that he overfilled most of the boxes he packed. Because he used huge boxes, packing many different things into each box, and then was unable to clearly label the boxes we ended up with piles of boxes which all said "man room" with no additional detail. We weren't able to communicate well with him to help him with the box labeling or to explain that there wasn't a man room and a woman room... just a bedroom. On move day we were served by a crew of 3 men (Jose, Jose and we've forgotten the other name). Unfortunately it was raining that day, so they were not able to work as quickly as usual. All three of these men were excellent at their job, carefully handling our boxes (140+ in total) and wrapping all our furniture with the moving blankets we provided. They did a great job packing the ABF trailer efficiently and wisely. Only one of these men was able to speak clear English, but we all managed. If I could work with Roberto and these guys in the future, I'd consider using Campbell again. But you just never know who you will get no matter how hard you try to arrange that in advance. If you choose to hire Campbell Moving for your move, I would recommend buying your own boxes. The wardrobe boxes provided by Campbell were clearly used (with tape, etc). Some of the boxes they brought were branded as Campbell Moving, other boxes were branded with Home Depot, Allied, and other moving companies. We purchased a bundle of 275lb Heavy Duty boxes and Double Wall Wardrobe boxes from Uline to supplement the boxes from Campbell. When our shipment arrived, all of those Uline boxes were in excellent condition. The boxes provided by Campbell were destroyed. About 75% of the Campbell boxes were crushed in on themselves and just in generally thrashed condition. This is likely a combination of being lower quality boxes to begin with which were then overpacked beyond their reasonable capacity by the less experience crew member. The boxes we purchased from Uline were virtually the same price as the boxes we purchased from Campbell and in my opinion of higher quality. When we move again, I will definitely buy strong boxes because it makes the unload and the unpacking process so much easier. Despite having an in-home estimate to eliminate any issues, the loading crew ran out of paper pads and shrink wrap. We had to go buy more shrink wrap to finish the job. The loading crew said they were told this was a "quick small job" when in reality it was a huge complicated move. I don't know how else one can avoid these issues which are supposed to be mitigated by an in-home estimate.

This was the easiest and best move I've ever experienced, and I've moved a lot with a lot of pretty good movers. The packing crew arrived the day before the move, not only on time, but they also called in advance to assure me they were on the way. They were personable and worked very hard and without pause and were finished in 3 hours. The next day the moving crew called ahead to say they were on the way, they arrived on time, put protective covers on the floor and wrapped all the furniture in paper and shrink wrap. They moved large, heavy awkward furniture without any difficulty (other movers had had problems with my furniture). After 3 hours they had loaded the truck. The house was still in excellent condition - there was nothing for me to clean up prior to the walk-through with my home buyers. The crew then drove to my storage unit and unloaded the truck - managing to fit everything into the storage unit neatly and safely (no small feat). The whole move took only 5 hours, including the time to travel between the house and the storage unit. These guys all really hustle, seem to enjoy each other and take pride in their work. And, the whole job came in below estimate (and their estimate was below those from other companies).

Bill, Wayne and all the crew were pleasant, hard working (really hard working) and professional. Nothing was damaged or broken (so far - we haven't finished unpacking but I ddl not anticipate any damage). They were a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend them.

I've used Campbell twice now and I feel they are excellent. The first move was perfection, and the second move was a close-second to perfection. They are fast, they pack things really well, and they're careful, which is important to me because I seem to have a lot of fragile/glass belongings. The staff is really good-natured and very hard-working. They do cost a little more, but it's really worth it. I've moved a number of times and have experienced movers that we not as efficient, or hard working, and the low prices that were quoted didn't turn out to be the reality in some of those cases. My complaints are so minor, they're hardly worth mentioning, but here it is. On the second move, the crew arrived early. This would normally be great, except that we have noise restrictions in my county, and they kept the truck idling for quite awhile which would be a violation with possible fines. So, not the best scenario, though I can't necessarily have expected them to know that. Also, the driver wasn't that good at maneuvering the truck on the narrow street. Not easy for anyone probably, but the driver did seem a little inexperienced. The only other disconnect was with regard to what should go where in the new home. We labeled the boxes with what should be placed in what room but perhaps a better system for doing that would be more helpful. Perhaps we should have put labels or numerals on the doors and the boxes. As I mentioned, these things were minor. Better communication on my part would likely have eliminated at least two of those issues. I would highly recommend them.

Hector and his crew were Awesome. They were punctual got to work right away. Went out of their way to get the job done. Completely moved my from start to finish in 8 hours. We are talking a 4 bedroom house on three floors. They just never stopped. We had lunch on our way to the new house them kept on going. I would recommend and his crew to everyone I know and would most definitely use them again. If there was a six star rating that wouldn't be enough. Thanks guy for making the a great move.

I can't rave enough about Campbell Moving. I have had some interesting experiences with other moving companies in the past and it can be very exhausting. Before contacting Campbell Moving I tried obtaining estimates (both online and in home) from larger companies, well known in the area (one that a very good friend even raved about). Sadly I was very frustrated by the lack of response and the overall lack of interest in our business. My husband and I had been renting a 4 bedroom single family home for 2 years after relocating to the area from out of state. We have no kids and really didn't occupy but two bedrooms in the house. We had pitched a lot of our belongings from our previous move and didn't have a normal 4 bedroom single family home amount of items to move. After failing to get reasonable estimates from two other moving companies, I contacted Campbell for an in home estimate. The representative was on time, very nice and personable, and I instantly could tell he cared for my business. He did an inventory of our home, and then showed me their insurance certificate and picture details on how the movers care for your belongings during the move. He provided the estimate on the spot (the other companies left with the inventory and took several days to get back to me with the estimate). I was very pleased with the price and felt it was spot on with my past experience and what the move should roughly cost. I called the next day and secured our move day. On the day of the move the crew arrived several minutes early, showed them the house and what was being moved and they got started right away. I had bought doughnuts and snacks for the movers but no one even stopped for a break to eat anything until the house was loaded on the truck. They wrapped our belongings and were very carefully with the walls and door areas. I was so impressed by the speed and swiftness they worked on the job. Everything went very smoothly and finally before heading to our new house the crew took the snacks after we insisted they were bought for them. I will highly recommend Campbell moving to anyone in the area, our experience was flawless and that was a welcome relief after some previously bad experiences with other local moving companies. I will also note that our total move cost came under the estimate we were given, however we got rid of several large pieces of furniture that were on inventory and my husband took our treadmill apart instead of the movers doing it (that saved time, which saves money). They did a great job. They are very careful not to nick walls etc. I had great peace that they were consciously being careful with my furniture. They did break a sheet of glass that went on a piece of furniture, but they replaced it and waved the deductible.

All in all it was a very positive experience. The expenses were explained both prior to the actual move and at the end, so there were no surprises.
