It went pretty well. The company was in contact with me. Right before the actual move, they came out. Everything went smoothly. The guys were really professional. I was really happy with them. We actually ended up taking three guys. They took a little bit longer than 4 hours. We paid a little bit more because we had more manpower and we had them a little bit longer. There wasn't any damage. The three guys were really professional. They went to work right away. They were straightforward. The one guy who was in charge was very courteous. I don't really have anything negative to say about them. They delivered everything. I can't recall any damage at all. They wrapped everything really well before they departed the apartment. They were right on time. They seemed to be very responsive. There were no issues. If I had to move, I would use them again.

Let me start off by saying that this review is based on the moving crew we got just a few days before Christmas, so it's very possible we got their C-team if their A- and B-teams took time off for the holidays. We'd originally scheduled our move with Campbell in November. Part of the reason we went with Campbell in the first place was their no-questions-asked, no-fee policy for rescheduling... and sure enough, we had to reschedule just a few days before our original date. We emailed our moving consultant, Andrew Bowers, who did the initial estimate for us. He didn't respond, so we called the office to reschedule to December. (In fact, Andrew never responded to any of the emails we sent him throughout the process.) The office staff told us it would be no problem, but to our surprise, a moving crew showed up on our original November move date! We told them we'd called the office staff to reschedule, and they left without giving us any hassle. So despite the mix up, we thought it was a good sign that they showed up on time at the right place and were courteous about the error. Skip ahead to our December move date. No one had called us to confirm anything, so we figured we'd call the office the day before just in case. The office staff read back the address they had on file as "South Street" so we had to clarify that our address is "S Street"... not "South Street." The office staff promised to make a note for the driver. Good thing we called!... except when the moving crew failed to show up within the promised 8-9 am window. We called the office staff to find out what was going on. Turns out the driver went to... South Street. It took a half hour for them to finally show up at the right address, which was a problem because that meant we'd lost more than an hour of our reserved loading dock time. So ok, everyone makes mistakes, and lots of people make this particular one. We showed the moving crew what we needed them to pack, and which pieces of furniture we needed them to move. We specifically called out an Ikea cabinet that we wanted to move because it looks a lot like the built-in cabinets. The crew wasn't the friendliest, but as long as they did the job well, I wasn't necessarily going to hold that against them. While the crew packed, my wife and I wanted to stay out of their way, so we left to move a few personal/valuable items to our new place ourselves, and to run a few errands. People have since told us this was a mistake on our part, but with a 5-person crew in a ~1,000 sq. ft. apartment, we felt we'd only slow them down if we'd stayed... and that would be on top of the hour we lost for the loading dock. My wife decided to stay at the house while I drove back to our apartment to check on the crew, but by the time I got back to our apartment, the crew had already left! No phone call to let us know they were done... nothing. It was a good thing my wife decided to stay behind because it turned out they had just arrived at our new place. But if that wasn't enough, I also discovered that they had left about one box-worth of loose items in the apartment... and the Ikea cabinet I specifically told the crew to move! Now I was getting annoyed. I called the office staff to complain, and they said they would adjust the time to make things right since it was their error. Fine. Back to the house I go, where the crew was just starting to unload. Not the most careful crew, but we found no evidence of damage or loss, so we couldn't complain. When they finished, the driver said he would take another crew member back to our apartment to pick up the Ikea cabinet and other loose items. The rest of the crew just stood around on the sidewalk, so I asked him if he was going to unpack as was included in our estimate. He said no one told him he needed to unpack. He initially resisted when we insisted it was written in our estimate, but eventually relented. How could he not have known when it was clearly written on our estimate? Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse... they did. The driver and I left the house at the same time to go back to the apartment for the remaining items, while the rest of the crew members stayed behind to unpack the boxes. I arrived ahead of the truck, as one might expect. But after 30 minutes of waiting, something had to have gone wrong... after all, we left at the same time! Guess where the driver went?... South Street! How can a moving crew go to the wrong address twice in a single day? The driver's excuse the first time was that the paperwork was incorrect (i.e., he threw the office staff under the bus). But then he tried the same excuse the second time, and then got mad at me for calling the office staff so many times to complain. Let me repeat... the driver got mad at me for him going to the wrong address a second time, after forgetting to move an item I told him specifically to move. In the end, they made only a minor adjustment to our charges, but we were so angry, tired, and frustrated to argue with the driver about payment. And as bad as the moving crew was, we didn't reduce the amount we planned to tip them. But I did promise the office staff that they should expect a pretty sour review, and a solid recommendation against using these movers despite the generally positive ratings here!
Description of Work: We hired Campbell to help us pack up our belongings (2 bed/2 bath apartment), move less than two miles away, and unpack the boxes so we wouldn't have to deal with piles of cardboard.

Dear Member, I appreciate your review and the detail that you have provided. I must admit that I am taken aback at a few things and wanted to address that here. First, I do want to thank you for your hand written note on the job ticket in which you stated "appreciated team's efforts to make job as smooth as possible." We are blessed to have great crews and crew leaders that do provide stress free moving. I say stress free because it is easy to pick up on it in your review. I do apologize for any non responsiveness to email or any point of detail that was overlooked for your job. Those particular issues will be discussed with staff to ensure it is corrected immediately. However, I will add that when customers needs to change a moving date, it is always best to call the office direct so it can updated immediately over the phone. My estimators are on the road constantly so cannot always get to emails very timely. I do want it known that Campbell Moving does not employ "C" teams. If we did, we would not have over 300 "A" rated reviews. The crew you had was actually top notch and members of that team are mentioned by name in many reviews and notes that we receive. As far as the "S" street issue, whether S Street or South Street, I'm hoping that a little common sense would take hold and one could understand how something like that could happen. However, it is something for us to keep in mind when creating job tickets or invoices and ensuring 100% accuracy to eliminate any confusion for the drivers and crews. You do bring up a very important issue regarding moving which is leaving the home during the move. Unless it cannot be helped, such as going to settlement, a member of the house should always be present when crews are on site. We perform many moves where partial moving or packing takes place, or, items may convey. It is always important for the customers to be present to ensure things are packed or moved that need to be. A good case in point is a final walk through with the crew chief to ensure all items are loaded that need to be, such as the IKEA cabinet. Overall, I can tell your experience was not as you expected but am glad your move came in under your original estimate and with no damage. Moving is already stressful so any small thing that happens can greatly escalate that stress level - which we do find from time to time in the reviews that we answer here. It does not minimize or diminish your personal experience, but I do believe it plays a bigger role in making a decision to justly rate an experience as less than "A" but really not reflective of an "F" grade. Our family is always grateful to all of our customers that trust us to handle their most prized possessions. However, based on the overall experience of your move, I must admit that this is a review that I do not agree with the rating. That being said, I do thank you for the opportunity to serve. Campbell Moving was great to work with. We bought their big deal for a truck and three men for four hours at $499. We knew upfront this job would take 9-10 hrs to complete. We had the service scheduled for Dec 10th but we had to change the date back to December 20 last minute and they took care of our needs. Moving day was stressful but the Campbell team make it easy. They were on time, came into the the house layer out mats protecting to hardwood floors and carpet. They provided hanging clothing boxes, shrink wrap, blankets and padding in their hourly fee. The three guys wrapped all of our furniture to ensure it was protected and did a wonderful job moving our 60" and 50" flat screen TV's. When they unloaded at our new house they unpacked all the furniture and worked with us to get everything placed exactly how we wanted. The pricing they provided was good but their level of service was great. If you have any moving needs I strongly recommend using Campbell Moving company.

It is 4/2/15 and I am updating my review. I see that Wayne Brown from Campbell posted a reply on March 12, 2015 saying he would review my case. So far, I have not heard from anyone at Campbell. All of the below comments remain accurate. I believe Campbell's lost my reservation, as I had not heard a word from them. I called them the week before my move, and they could not "find" me in their calendar. They then found the paperwork from my estimate, and remembered me, and said there would be "no trouble" moving me. They showed up on time, on the right day. I hired them to both pack my stuff and move it. The packer who packed all the dishes/glasswear did a wonderful job. However, the following problems occurred: 1. Crew forgot to put a support leg under an armoire when assembling it - they left the support leg sitting on a nearby table. I saw it just after they left my new home, and I called them immediately and asked that they return to install it, since they had just left and I could not do that job on my own. They said no, but they would return the next day. Never heard from them again. 2. I then noticed that the bed bolts/screws that connect the headboard to the side rails had not been installed either (part of the same furniture set as the aforementioned armoire) - the screws were left sitting somewhere else and I found them much later and did not know what they were until I tried to move the bed they should have been installed in. 3. They did not properly pack lamp shades from my daughter's room - the shades were thrown in a box with other things. Lamp shades were crushed. 4. They did not properly protect (I believe they did not even package at all) my original oil painting with a custom frame. The custom frame arrived chipped at the bottom in two places. 5. They did not properly protect or pack my cheap (but I love it) canvas giclee of a dancer that I hang above my bed. It was packed in a box with something pokey, and now has a big permanent p***** in the canvas. 6. They put their dirty hands on my nice upholstered sofa when moving it into the house, leaving dark handprints of dirt/sweat on the fabric. The crew leader apologized. 7. My daughters shoes from her bedroom closet simply did not arrive. They were lost in the one-half mile drive from our old house to our new house. I called Campbell's just after they drove off from my new house about hte armoire, and they did not call back. I then e-mailed the company to ask that they reimburse me for the puckered Target canvas giclee ($30.00) - and they did not reply to my email. I then called them, asking that they call me back, and got no return phone call. I am now leaving this review. Based on all the good reviews, perhaps my experience was a fluke. But, I would not hire them again.

They were absolutely brilliant. They were about average of the four estimates I got. They were not the most expensive. They were the second in terms of cost. They had good writeups on Angie's List. That was why we ended up going with him. They seemed very thorough when they guy came out to give me the estimate on what we had to move. The guys who did the moving worked really hard. They were on an hourly rate. They just worked all the way through. They didn't stop. They were careful and they were considerate. They were very polite. They worked hard.

Description of Work: They disassembled the furniture that needed to be disassembled for moving, provided boxes, packed those boxes and put everything on the truck. Once we got to our destination, they carried furniture and boxes from the truck, asking the owner what room to put it in and they reassembled any furniture pieces that needed to be reassembled. They were helpful, polite and never took a break. Just kept working no matter what was going on around them.

Paying for his move was a gift to one of our employees for his exemplary service to our company so this report is how I heard the move went. He had one word for the Campbell crew: EXTRAORDINARY! He actually happily shouted this word into the phone when he called and I asked him about the move. The crew showed up on time and as always started right in with moving things up and out. Everything arrived at the other end in one piece and was placed with care where it all belonged. Donny Maldonado was a terrific help to me with making payment arrangements (as the folks being moved were not to pay). I was also told he was terrific to work with in setting up the actual move arrangements. Campbell Moving is a company that we have no qualms about referring other people to and we (and family) intend to use them for any and all future moves! Thank you, everyone!

Setting up the move was easy....the person I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. The guys called when they were on their way and showed up on time for my actual move. They movers were very pleasant, friendly and professional as well. They asked me good questions and ensured they were doing what I had asked. I gave them a "B" rating for two reasons. The first is that it ended up costing me more than I expected. It was probably my fault for not fully understanding the angies list deal. So be sure to read the fine print. Even though they did a good job, I still thought the $740 price was a bit much for what I had to move but again, I"ll be sure to fully understand the deal next time. My second complaint is in regards to my office furniture they moved. It isn't made of the best quality wood. They did tell me it was difficult to move because the quality was not solid. However after they moved it, set it up, and left, I noticed that a couple pieces were damaged from the strap marks. I wish they would have pointed it out to me before they left. I didn't report it to the owner either, but I probably should have. All & all it wasn't a bad experience, and I would consider them again.

Thank you member for your review here. You do bring up (2) very important things regarding the move. We are happy that we are able to provide additional deals to Angie's List members, but you are correct in that members need to make sure they understand fully what the deals are for. The (4) hour deals that we have covers 3 hours of labor and 1 hour of travel time. Most jobs go beyond 3 hours so it is very important to note that the deal offers savings on the first 3 hours and on the travel time. Work performed that time is billed at the standard rate - but only in 15 minute increments. The second point you bring up about the office furniture is something that we see everyday. In the world of moving, pressed wood is an item that has its challenges. First of all, once you start removing screws and reassembling, the wood will splinter and not secure as tightly as when first assembled. Secondly, because it is a very thin top layer, it is more easily at risk for damage. However, this is the main reason that we use pads to cover furniture so that we reduce, or even eliminate, the chance of damage happening. Wow.....I was impressed!!!!! After interviewing three top rated movers from Angies List, I purchased the online special for 4 hours, 3 men, $499. The skeptic in me was totally prepared for the move to some how take longer than the 4 hours, and I'd owe more money because instead of 3 men, they sent 4....I mean, that's how they really make their money right? Nope! These four guys worked their butts off and finished in EXACTLY 4 HOURS. Kirk was fantastic....and I was so pleased with these guys that I recommended them to my niece who was moving a few weeks later (she hired them too, by the way). I hate moving, and don't plan on moving again any time soon but if I do....these are the guys I'll hire!

Campbell Movers service was ok. The initial quotation that was given is 50% higher and we had to cut down a lot of items from the list. Runners occupied quite a bit of space in the truck leaving some more stuff for us to move. The movers were ok. Created some dry wall dents in the bed room and one of the crew members was spitting in the drive way, in our porch entrance. And also the crew created some mud marks on the carpet and the wall which I had to clean afterwards.

Dear Member, thank you for your review here and for the comments you made. Some of the things you mention I am not aware of happening, such as the quote being 1/2 of the final price. Do keep in mind that a lot of variables come into play with quotes given over the phone. Since we are not on sight giving the estimate, we rely 100% on customers to provide us the right information over the phone. The majority of the time that jobs exceed the estimates is due to the customer not being 100% prepared for the day of the move. By that I mean the packing of the house hold items. The basic rule of thumb is if it will fit into a box it needs to go into a box. Many times we show up on jobs and the lamps are sitting on tables, the artwork is still hanging on the wall, or certain knick knack items are still sitting out. We always carry extra boxes on all of our trucks just in case it is needed. However, this does increase the time/materials cost that is required. The other comments you made I will take up with my crew manager to address with the crew. Our family prides itself on providing the best and most efficient service that we can - while still maintaining a professional and respectful move experience. From the start, this was a really great transaction and experience. Wayne @ Campbell answered the phone, was very helpful answering all my questions, and assisted with scheduling (fortunately for me, November is a slow month for moving and I had a wide range of dates available including Saturdays). I was able to book a move date only 2 weeks out from my call on a Saturday morning at 9:00 am -- just what I wanted. I had purchased a 3-hour deal from an Angie List promotional email and Wayne clearly explained how it worked and what, if any, additional fees would be incurred if we exceeded the 3 hour period. The email follow-ups were prompt and efficient. The team called me from the road Saturday morning to let me know they were on the way. They arrived promptly at 9:00 am and wasted no time getting started with loading the truck. They had hanging wardrobe boxes with them that I was able to borrow for no additional charge. The team was very fast. They wrapped furniture in blankets and/or plastic, and securely loaded them in the truck. Once the truck was loaded, I asked that they make a stop enroute to the move destination in order to pick up a full-size bed mattress and box spring from a friend. This was done without hesitation. Unloading was also fast and efficient and the team assembled the bed and put back together a desk unit they had taken apart for moving. The job was done in 2 hours 45 minutes. I recommend Campbell and will certainly use them again.

I purchased their Angie's list deal for $499 where you get four hours with three movers. When I called, I spoke to a very professional and service oriented person. He explained to me how the deal worked, and that time over above the four hours would be charged per hour. I said at that time that I wished them to pack the kitchen as well. He said they were fully professional kitchen packers and bonded, etc., and would know exactly what to do. a couple weeks later I called to inform them that I wanted some items trucked to a second location. They said "no problem"- I would just pay extra for the time. I understood that. I'd used professional movers in the past, and based on conversations with this company over the phone, I thought I would get the same quality. First off, the movers were late. Second, they said they were not aware they were packing the kitchen, and they did not have the correct materials. They ended up having to call to get the materials. They were not wearing gloves, which movers typically do. They also did not have any Masonite floor protection- only a ground cloth they put in the hallway. I was pretty sure that one of the movers was fairly inexperienced. when we got to the house to move stuff in, things went downhill. I had a large cabinet that needed to go upstairs that was clearly too heavy for them. One of the movers was clearly struggling, and they came close to busting the staircase bannister. The wood floor got scraped and they did not have anything to cover the stairs, because the one floor cover they had was in the foyer. I spoke on the phone after the move about the floor scratching and they said to send them an email with pics of the scratches. I did that, and I never heard back, even after follow up emails. I thought I had got a "deal" assuming campbell were professional movers. However, another company did the very similar job for me a few years ago, even with the second trip. Campbell ended up costing as much as that more "fancy" company with much less quality. This deal is too good to be true. I cannot recommend Campbell to anyone.

Horrible. They sent the contractors and they didn't do good job. Left half of our garage undone saying the truck is full. The truck should have been filled properly but they were rude and kind of scolded us. Also, I purchased $499 deal through Angieslist and asked them to tell me if three hours should be enough to complete the job. The on-the-call estimator said yes and refused my request to come to the house for estimate. The contractor came in and said it would be eight hour job. I paid $400 extra and still they didn't move all my stuff. This is my first purchase through Angieslist and the experience with the service provider was horrible. Not sure why this service provider was rated so high.
Description of Work: They did not come to my house for estimate. Gave me the estimate over the phone and guaranteed that the job will be done in three hours. They sent another contractor to do the moving job. They came and said it would take 8 hours. Two movers were very rude and kept talking about extra work they would have to do. They had large truck and were not able to pack everything in that truck. We had two bedroom condo with a garage - moderate size belongings and they didn't fit everything in that 26 feet truck. We still have our garage half full.

Excellent! Called one day before the move b/c I was traveling out of the town the following week and wanted to move some furniture to my other property in Gaithersburg, Maryland. They came out the next day on time, and started packing immediately, the entire move from Sterling to Gaithersburg took about 5 hours. Everyone was professional and friendly, and doing their job. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I searched Angie's List to find a reputable moving company to handle my move from my two bedroom condo to a three level townhouse. Campbell's had excellent reviews on Angie's List, so I called them and spoke to a man in their office who quoted me a reasonable price (this was approximately around May 16). I contacted a few other companies as well, and then in the last week of May I called Campbell's back and booked my move with them for July 3. The week of June 1st I called Campbell's again and stated that although I already had my move booked with them, I was wondering if they could come out and give me an in-home estimate. Over the phone the gentleman confirmed my July 3 booking, and scheduled an in-home estimate for June 7. Andy came out to do the estimate and he was great, very thorough, gave me great advice, and was overall very professional. He made me feel better about booking with Campbell. When Andy arrived he stated that he knew I was already scheduled with Campbell and that I wanted an in-home estimate. When he finished his walk through of my condo he wrote up his not to exceed estimate and noted on it that I was booked for July 3, and that the guys would show up between 8:30-9:00 AM. He wrote the word "Booked" on the estimate. On the morning of July 3 I waited for the movers, no one came at 8:30 so I waited until 9:00 AM. No one showed up, so I called Campbell's. I got their voicemail so I left a message inquiring about when the movers would arrive. At 9:10 I still hadn't heard back so I called again, and this time I got Danny on the phone. I explained that the movers were supposed to have arrived by 9:00 and I was wondering if he could give me a status. He took my info and said he would call me back. He called back about 5-10 minutes later and said "who did you book your move with?", and I knew at that point they did not have me on their schedule. I told him I didn't remember the name of the guy who I booked with, but that I booked at the end of May and that Andy did an in-home estimate in June. I told him that they had to show up that day because I had to be out of the condo that day. He said he would look into it and call me back. He called me back at 9:30 and said that he was sorry for worrying me but that in fact I was on their schedule and the guys were on their way to my place earlier that morning when their truck broke down. So he said they would be to my place at 2:00 PM. I couldn't believe that a truck breaking down would delay my move for 5 hours! I explained that I had a walk-through scheduled with the new owners (because I was renting back) at 5:00 PM that day, and would they really be able to have me completely moved in 2.5 hours? Danny assured me that they would have everything out of my condo in time for my 5:00 PM walk through. I voiced my concern that they were showing up so late in the day, if in fact their truck had broken down, shouldn't they have back up trucks ready and so they should be able to get to me sooner? Danny said he would see if they could get to me sooner than 2:00 and would call me back in 1 hour to let me know. Shortly after I called Andy who gave me my in-home estimate and explained to him what was going on, he was shocked to hear that they did not have me on their schedule, and he told me to tell the guys that Andy said the move was for free. Andy was very helpful and considerate on this call, and I very much appreciated his assistance. Because Danny told me at 9:30 AM that he would call back in 1 hour to let me know what time the movers would arrive, I waited for his call. He never called at 10:30 so at approximately 10:45 I called the office. I explained to Danny that I was waiting for his call back and he rudely said to me "haven't you already talked to Andy? My understanding is that you spoke with Andy and he told you the move was for free, and that he told you that he couldn't give you an exact time that the movers would arrive". I was surprised by the hostility in Danny's voice and I said that although I did speak with Andy and he did tell me that he was unsure what time the movers would arrive, I was still awaiting Danny's call to confirm an approximate time for the movers. Danny was extremely rude throughout this conversation, telling me that this entire mix up is "not your fault, you shouldn't feel bad." I didn't feel bad, I was getting angry at the unprofessionalism of Danny and of this company. Danny told me that he would call later to let me know what time the movers would arrive. At approximately 3:00 I received a call from the driver, he said that they had problems with their truck and it had broken down (didn't I already hear that excuse in the morning???), and could they please move me the next day. At this point I had had it, I was beyond frustrated and I told him that no, I could not move the next day because I had a contract that said I had to vacate the property on July 3rd. So they had to figure something out but they had to get to my house and move me that day. The movers showed up at approximately 4:00 PM, only 2 guys to pack and move my entire condo. Within 30 minutes the remnants of a hurricane moved in and they were trying to pack up my stuff in gale force winds and rain, they had to stop and wait it out. Shortly afterwards about 8 more guys showed up and they quickly packed things up, but they left a huge mess behind, they left garbage in my condo (empty soda cans and water bottles), used rolls of tape, and threw empty soda cans in the bushes around the condo building. They went to my new house, proceeded to track dirt in even though I asked them to make sure to cover their shoes so they wouldn't track in dirt, they dinged up two of my walls, they cut a zip tie that was holding an electrical box to the back of my house (no explanation for why they would do this), they moved my thermostat from "auto" to "on" and cranked it down to the lowest possible temperature so that the air ran non-stop - they never asked my permission for this, they just did it on their own. In addition, although they "packed" my hanging clothes in for me in hanging boxes, all they really did was throw all of my clothes in the boxes and then at my house they threw them into my closet. My clothes were a mess. And then at the end they asked me for payment, to which I told them that Andy and Danny said it was for free. After the movers left I began putting things away in my bedroom. They had set up my dresser and put my TV on the top of the dresser as I asked. So the dresser was full of clothing (they left it all in there and just wrapped the dresser) and had a heavy television sitting on top of it, and I was sitting in front of it pulling open a drawer when suddenly the entire thing tipped over on top of me. I was stuck under the dresser trying to stop the TV from crashing to the floor and trying to keep this very heavy dresser from crushing me. Turns out they did not screw the legs back into the dresser properly, rather they just set the dresser on the legs. So when I pulled open a drawer, it fell over. Unbelievable! I was so upset and angry. The following Monday Danny called me to find out how my move went, I couldn't believe he called to ask me how everything went when he knew what a disaster it was. I told him about the dresser falling on me, that his guys cranked my air conditioning without asking, and purposely damaged items around my house. At the end of the conversation Danny asked me how would I like to pay for the move. Again, unbelievable that he expected me to pay after both he and Andy told me that the move would be for free. I told him that I wasn't paying because he told me that the move would be for free. I appreciate that they did not charge me for the move, but honestly I would have rather paid for a move and had it done on time, correctly and professionally then to have to go through the ordeal that this company put me through. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Unfortunately, the cold weather does cause increased issues with equipment but we work through it. In your case, it did cause a delay, but we did everything that we could to get your move taken care of for the day you wanted to move. I am taken aback at some of your comments regarding the way things were handled or left in your home. From pictures that I have seen, there were many lose items moved and placed in your home. However, these items were never packed in preparation for the move so they were moved as is. It is very common that customers are not fully prepared on move day which can lead to confusion and increased time or materials on move day. This is the main catalyst for estimates not falling in line with the initial quote as we assume that 100% pack by customer means just that. I have known the people you spoke with on the phone and the movers for years. You make statements about people being unprofessional, but I believe that is simply not the case. Moving can be very stressful so I believe a lot of the comments made were due directly to that. I am truly sorry the move experience you had was not what you wanted, and there are some areas of concern that you mentioned that I will take up directly with my staff and crew manager. However, based on feedback that I have received from my staff and crew, at this point, should not warrant a "F" rating of our company. I do appreciate your business and do thank you for the opportunity to serve. However, sometimes I agree with certain ratings and sometimes I do not. Some moving companies refer to the time to dispatch a truck and crew back and forth from your location to the company warehouse as a trip charge but most companies call it "travel time"

To start at the beginning, Andy came out and gave us a quote for our move. They didn't count every single item up, but took a general list of what was being moved. He gave us a quote that he said he could guarantee - the price would not change. They were by far the most reasonable quote we received. And we liked the company and Andy! We felt at ease with Andy and got a good vibe about the company. We had some unknowns at the time of when we were going to move into our new house in NC. There was about a 7 week period that we were going to be homeless. Campbell Moving gave us an option of moving our items into their storage, or being able to leave them on the truck. Instead of adding 2 more moves, we were able to store our furniture on the truck. It worked out great for us. Campbell Moving's crews were the hardest working movers I've every seen!. They did arrive 3 hours late on the day they loaded us. In the end it all worked out fine since we weren't going directly to a new house. The guys worked until everything was on the truck, taking no breaks. It was a hot July day, and they were work horses! Campbell Moving also guaranteed the date for delivery of our items in NC. About a week before our move we found out that our closing was pushed back a day. Campbell was able to accommodated us and deliver a day later then we originally said. They arrived on time and worked equally as hard to get us unloaded. The crew was great! There was a miscommunication about the final bill, but that was worked out quickly and easily. We had a great experience - hard working, professional crews, no damage to our items, and at a reasonable price for the move and storage.

As we all know around here, the DMV got voted #1 in bad traffic so it is unfortunate that we do have to deal with 66 and 495 to get to a lot of areas. With some of the restrictions we have on some roads around here, the Monday to Friday move days can be "fun" at times. Thank you member for your review here and you do bring up a very important point. Our deals online, as well as any other daily move that we perform, do include what is called Travel Time. It is a common charge in our industry that covers our crews for the time spent driving from our facility to the job site and then back to our facility at the end of the day. A majority of our local moves are within a distance where the 1 hour is sufficient. However, once we do start venturing a little further out, we do feel that it is appropriate to charge a little more - whether that only be 1/2 hour or another 1 hour so that our crews are accurately compensated for the actual time spent in support of our customer's moves. We hired this company based upon their excellent reviews on Angie's List. They did not disappoint. They showed up on time, worked diligently, and carefully. They were polite and friendly and their price was fair and reasonable. What more could you ask for with a moving company? I recommend them to anyone who is planning a move.

The majority of our moves encompass the 8,000-12,000 lb. range so it only makes sense to have the right equipment for the job.
