Description of Work: Let me begin by saying this is our first move in 25 years. Campbell Moving made it so much less stressful. First we found out our move in date a little last minute and they were able to accommodate us were as several other companies simply said they couldn't. The four man team arrived a little early which was wonderful. The were fast, efficient and professional. While I was not as organized and prepared as I thought they made up for it. Also not ONE thing they packed or moved was broken or damaged. Though I don't plan to move again for a long time would highly recommend Campbell's to everyone.

Description of Work: Campbell moved our furniture last weekend and the experience was great. They showed up on time, took great care wrapping our furniture and packing it carefully in the truck. The men were very friendly and professional. We would highly recommend them and will use them again.

Description of Work: Contacted multiple companies for estimates for my move from VA to DC. Campbell's had by far the best customer service, integrity as well as a fair price. Andy and Wayne were true professionals and provided outstanding customer service. Andy, in particular, was always available if we had any questions and was always very helpful and understanding. Campbell's prices compaired favorably with other estimates we received, and we truly felt we were dealing with a company with integrity. The moving team was punctual, courteous and completely accomodating to our needs and careful with our belongings. All in all, I would highly recommend Campbell Movers and would not hesitate to use them again. They made a stressfull event a whole lot less worrisome.

Description of Work: Free moving estimate, pick up from one location and move to location less than 4 miles from pick-up. "The estimater that came out was very professional and stated that they had moved customers into my apartment building many times. The building has very strict rules and I was concerned about timing. You only have from 1 - to 5pm for move ins. I was told they would take down beds and put them up again, etc. From the original estimate I had 2 of the four paintings boxed. In order to save time, I dismantled my queen size bed, headboard, footboard, frame etc. I was very organized and most everything was in boxes and labeled where it was to be placed in new apartment. The movers showed up 30 minutes late, stained a white mattress with black marks, I believe from sitting a file cabinet on top of it. They dismantled a table that weighed less than 5 lbs. taking about 20 minutes. Finally we were ready to leave the apartment-about 1:30pm and I return for a last check to find my big screen television still on the wall. They had to get out of the truck go back in the house and take it down; adding another 45 minutes to the move and allowing only 3 hours to unload and set up. Upon arriving to the new site there was a delivery truck in the load/unload zone-we were late, so they had to allow another delivery.. That was another 20 minutes but not the movers fault. It was obvious that these movers had NEVER been to this building and did not have a clue of what was required. Everything was unloaded and dumped in the new apartment due to the fact that they ran out of time and the dock would be closed promptly at 5. I was very dissappointed in the fact that they arrived late, had to go back to for the TV and basically cost me an extra hour and a half of move time. I will not renew my subscription to Angies list nor would I use these movers again.

Description of Work: Campbell moved me a couple of days ago for the fourth time; and let's face it - moving is stressful. I am a repeat customer, and they will always be my fist call. The crew was on time and started right away. They worked so quickly and efficiently, that we were at the new place after about 2 hours. One of the crew was very allergic to my cat, but plowed through in spite of his sneezing and itchy eyes. They finished my move in great time, and honored my coupon even though I did not have it available (found it today!). Thank you again for another great move.

Description of Work: Contacted Bob about packing and unpacking services for my recent move. The packers were efficient, organized, professional and polite. All items were packed, boxes were labeled and nothing broke. This was a life saver. I wish I had them for the actual move. Best investment I could have made. This saved me time, energy and stress. Description of Work: Outstanding service from start to finish! Started off with a three man crew packing out our three bedroom house in about six hours, one hour ahead of schedule. The move featured a four man team which moved us in six hours, two hours ahead of schedule. They were good enough to dismantle and reassemble the larger equipment. A survey after the move revealed no damage to property or either house. I cannot give a stronger recommendation for this company!

Description of Work: First off, the team showed up 40 minutes late and called saying they were lost - I confirmed the location the day before over the phone. In my opinion, having moved in Arlington several times with other companies, they were just slow. Not a great thing when you're paying $150/hour. And I have to spend more money and get the walls touched up with new paint.Basically, what I received was not reflective in the price.

Description of Work: Spoke with Bill to set up the move. He was very courteous and gave me the name of the Supervisor (JC) that would be assigned to my move. JC and his crew of two (rhyme intended!) arrived on time and to keep a long story short, completed the move with outstanding professionalism, enthusiasm, and almost to near perfection. Granted that I had labelled all the items that needed to be moved and provided clear instructions at the start, JC and his team efficiently and carefully covered, taped, disassembled, and assembled 5 rooms between 2 homes within 6 hours! Description of Work: we moved from a home in Clifton up to Oakton. I found the experience to be as pleasant as moving can be. They were courteous on the telephone, the van was on time, they were careful with our furniture, and asked if i had any additional items to be changed or moved around before they left.

Description of Work: Will hire them again! Great crew who worked efficiently and got my move done in half a day! They handled my antiques with great care. Not one scratch on anything, even my piano!

Description of Work: I called Campbell Moving on a Friday and they were able to take my job the next Monday. I didn't have a large move but had special needs...I needed my furniture wiped down before it was to be packed away in storage. Other movers I called were not willing to do this, but Bill Campbell and his team didn't have a problem with it. It was a huge help and I found his movers to be very pleasant and professional...willing to help me with a smile on their faces. Thanks Bill for fantastic help!

Description of Work: The company moved me from northern virginia to North Carolina. They did a great job and I would use them again. the only mishap was a corner crack on a picture frame which probably was jostled in move.

Queen Mattress Box Spring 2 Large dressers (drawers not removable). 1 night stand with drawers (not removable). 1 small computer table with hutch. 6 - 8 boxes of clothing, misc. items. Description of Work: I hired Campbell moving for a local move, under 20 miles. I checked through Angies list to read the reviews, and decided to go with Campbell Moving after reading positive posts. I also liked the idea of using a local company. Bill , the owner answered the phone both times I called , and was very helpful and clear about what the move would cost hourly, without any hidden costs. I set the move up for a family member, who had a good bit of furniture, but not an overabundance of boxes. We did the packing ourselves and had everthing ready to go when they arrived. When I called to confirm the appointment a day or two before moving day, he answered additional questions I had about packing, and was very pleasant. He gave me an arrival time, and said it could be a few minutes off depending on the traffic that day. The three movers arrived just a couple minutes after scheduled time, but the movers apologized for the delay, which I thought was nice. I was impressed with the great care they took with the furniture, wrapping all the dressers and upholstered pieces. Nothing was nicked. The whole process was completed in about 4 hours, which was impressive, given that it was from a move from a 3rd floor walk-up apartment to one with lobby and elevators. The three movers were very pleasant throughout the whole experience. I also got a 5% discount that the company was offering Angies Lists customers at the time. I greatly appreciate the good work Campbell moving provided . The experience of "moving day" was stress free..

Description of Work: I needed to move a house full of furniture from a one story rambler in Sterling to a two story house with walk-out basement in Oak Hill/Chantilly. I'd been procrastinating from doing the move because I, just like most people, despise moving and I'm not a spring chicken anymore. I needed to move three bedrooms, family room, living room and many items from the garage. A number of the items were very heavy which is why I hired a moving company. When I called a few companies for estimates, I found Campbell Moving to be the lowest at $130 per hour with a four hour minimum and 30 minute travel time. Bill Campbell, the owner of the company was very easy to talk with and was timely in responding to my message that I left. I'm a big believer that if a company doesn't respond within 24 hours of a message, I won't consider them further. Bill responded within a few hours. Based on my list of items to be moved, Bill estimated that it would take four hours and he was right on the money. Four hours was the minimum charge for a move. His company charged $130 per hour plus he gave a 5% discount because I'm an Angie's List member. The total time to complete the job was four hours and 15 minutes including the 30 minutes travel time. The three man crew arrived within 15 minutes of the 9 AM starting time and were done by 1 PM. The only miscommunication on my part was not having asked about whether the drawers and cabinets needed to be emptied out or not. I should have asked for boxes and there weren't any on the truck (my fault for not having asked for some ahead of time). The movers plastic wrapped my sofas and living room chairs; however they did not remove the plastic wrap (I didn't think about that at the time). The movers moved the items quickly by hand. They dismantled and reassembled the beds. The movers asked me to empty out the drawers in the heavy items/cabinets, like a four drawer metal cabinet (I took out the four drawers and carried each drawer upstairs). The three man crew worked well and hard. They were good natured, except the only whining incident that I experienced when one of the men was not happy about moving the very heavy projection TV up to my second story master bedroom. I point blank told him that's why I hired you to do it. We were fine after that. I gave each of the men a cash tip for their excellent hard work. I could not have done it without them. I will use Campbell Moving Company again.
