Description of Work: Builders quoted and installed a white vinyl picket fence for us, surrounding our house. All of the necessary drawings/paperwork for HOA approval were provided in a timely fashion and the HOA had no issues with the application. The work was completed in 1 day and the crew was professional and thorough. It looks great and we are very happy with the end results.

Description of Work: I contacted Builder’s Fence Company in October of 2011 to have a fence and deck installed. I worked directly with Dave and he was amazing. He was very professional and flexible with my schedule. Dave was very patient and listed as I explained what I wanted. He provided sketches that were right on the money. The prices were very competitive with other contractors and, this company was able to provide the materials I wanted at a reasonable price. Dave provided me with a complete set of documents that I needed to submit to my HOA and my request was approved immediately. He stayed in contact with me from the start to finish - making sure I was taken care of and satisfied with the work being done and the final product. I am very happy with my deck and fence and will use Builders Fence Company for any future projects. I would definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Description of Work: Replaced an existing fence that was rotten.

Description of Work: We wanted a screened in porch and deck with a window removed replaced by a French door. Specifications included duplicating the existing French door and using Trex tongue and groove decking. We did not receive what was expected. Cheap imitations were provided. The project management was spotty. The salesman "Gator" was overly impressed with himself and promised more than he delivered. We were told that it would take two weeks to complete the job and it dragged out to more than five. We choose this company because of their affiliation with Home Depot. As a stock holder in Home Depot, a designer and project manager, I am very disappointed with the entire process and company. I would not recommend them.

Description of Work: We contracted with Chris Murphy through Home Depot. Our experience was pretty smooth and the quality of work is great. We were pleased with the experience and have since contracted with Builders Fence & Deck to replace our existing deck.

Description of Work: We contacted Builders Fence Company in 2010 to install a fence around our backyard. We were so pleased with the workmanship and professionalism of the sales staff and the construction team that we decided to contact them again In February of 2011 for an estimate on a screened porch and deck. We met with their design consultant who provided us a variety of design options to complement our home; along with estimates. The prices were very competitive with other contractors... they weren't the most expensive and they weren't the cheapest. We opted to go with Builders because they were a proven company and far more flexible and inventive with their designs than other contractors we interviewed. Once we decided on a design plan we opted to use the Timbertech composite decking for our 12 x 15 foot screened porch and large deck. The work commenced in March and other than a few days of undesirable weather, proceeded without a hitch. The porch and deck were laid out, the pilings and structure built and the finished product came together with little disruption to our household.

Description of Work: Builders Fence & Deck installed a new porch and railing. BF&D removed and hauled porch floor and railings. They furnished and installed Transcend Trex flooring. The new railing is pressure treated wood railing with pickets and Transcend Trex railing cap. They rebuilt the porch step and installed lattice around porch.

Description of Work: Install drainage trench in crawlspace, with drain tile, gravel and geotextile fabric. Also excavate outside grading to repair hole in footing. Redirect gutter drain pipe.

Description of Work: We decided that with young children it was time to fence in our yard and it would be easier since our neighbors on either side had fences. We had one spot where we wanted a fence on a retaining wall to keep kids from jumping off of it. Our neighbors on one side had used Builders for their fence and we got estimates from 5 fence companies (through Angies list.) Builders was the lowest price (especially when we decided to do Cedar on our 6'ft sections.) Dave came out for the estimate and walked the yard to see what our needs where, about 100 ft of 6ft fence in the rear of the yard, 2 6ft sections of 6ft cedar with lattice tops/gate and a 35ft of a picket fence on the retaining wall with a gate. Because we were coordinating the project with some iron railings/gate and were expecting a baby, we delayed the work for a few months. Once we were ready the fence was put up a few weeks later, this time including our neighbors lattice that needed to be replaced by a fallen tree.. It only took one day (and it was about 100 degrees that day) to put up the fence. A three man crew arrived about 10am and left after 7pm. Hugo, the crew boss, asked us a few last minute questions, like did we want our cedar gate arched to match our neighbors. He also asked the neighbor if they wanted their lattice top fixed (the neighbor had only told us to go ahead and fix the fence about 24 hours before the workman came and the email to Dave did not reach him that day.) Hugo also fixed what we thought would be a problem area connecting the picket fence to the iron railing gate on the retaining wall. The only challenge was the picket gate, the crew had litterally read the drawings for the picket fence/gate and they did not line up with the stairs correctly. Dave called the next day to see if the job was satisfactory and also came out to view the job. He said the crew would return to fix the fence/gate. The crew returned on Friday to fix the fence and Dave called to verify it on Monday. The only other challenge I had was the timing of when the crew is showing up. The morning when the crew showed up to put the fence in I was not aware they were coming (I received a call over the weekend asking if it would be ok, but thought I would get a call that morning to reconfirm.) Their truck was parked in front of my garage. At 4:30 pm, I assumed they crew would be leaving soon and asked how much longer, and was told by Hugo - 1 hour (it was difficult to communicate as there was a language barrier.) I needed to take my car to pick up my son from daycare and husband from the metro. They actually did not leave until after 7pm and I had to make other arrangements to get them home. This was just the situation that day, if they came another day it probably would not have been a problem. It happened again, they came back on Friday and again we did not know they were coming (at 7pm) we had just decided we would stay in vs. going out (and would not have been able to go out since I couldn't get them to move the truck on Monday.) In both cases had I known I would have put my car on the street so I could use it. I now know that if I ever need them again I need to plan ahead if I want to go out that day/night that work is being performed.
