Tom called to let me know he was on his way. He arrived right on time for my appointment. He was very pleasant to deal with. I showed him the drain and he fixed it. As he was putting the stopper back in, he looked and saw the drain was fairly clogged with hair and gunk. He quoted me a price to snake the drain and I agreed. He then put everything back together again and checked the sink for leaks. I printed out my Angie's List coupon to give him and he took it no problem. All in all, it was a very good experience. I would use them in the future.

Went well. He was professional, polite, and did a good job. The nice part was that he had the spare parts, etc. in his truck. Good idea too!

Was glad to be able to get service right before the holiday. Got excellent information from the dispatcher in terms of cost, what to expect, etc. The plumber who came did an efficient and quality job. I wish I could remember his name. I would call them again for my next plumbing issue.

Water heater went out over a weekend and Bowmans arrived that Monday to evaluate and provide a price quote. Dana called several times to keep us up to speed on the technicians arrival, who actually came early (good thing). They came up with a reasonable quote and arrived the next morning to replace the ailing water heater. They added additional equipment needed to bring the system up to code. They also inspected our vent tubing and fixed it as well for no extra charge. They were recommended by a friend, and I'm very satisfied with their work.

Kent came out and took his time to figure out where the leak was coming from. There were no obvious cracks or openings so he really needed to be very detailed. He took his flashlight and looked at every nook and cranny, he ran different scenarios with the shower head pointing it at different walls in the shower stall. He probably did this for about 45 min. I probably was ready to give up and just open up the kitchen ceiling. But after much investigation he found a very small potential hole and also determined that one of the walls needed to be rechaulked. He was very helpful in giving us advice on how to rechaulk. They don't do this themselves since they deal only with repairing actual plumbing. So I chaulked the heck out of the shower, did 2 walls instead of one just to be on the safe side and rechaulked all around the entire shower stall. He saved us from cutting into the ceiling or redoing the entire shower stall. I wouldn't have believed that just rechaulking would have solved the problem but he ensured us that it most likely was the chaulking. Well it has been over 2 months now and no leak.

I am remodeling a master bathroom and was obtaining bids for the plumbing work. When I called the office to schedule an appointment, I was told that Leesburg was very far out there and they probably wouldn't want to come that far. The person on the phone said they would check with the plumbers to see if anyone was willing to go all that way, and I would get a call back. I did not get a call back. In general, this seems to be a good company as they have many good reviews so they should take the time to keep their information current on Angie's List and specify if they only service Herndon and Sterling.

I just canceled service after 12 years. I had nothing but fine service from Bowman's on my contract. That all ended when I encountered their office manager Gloria Bowman. In two years the price went from $145 to $175 to $190. I probably would have paid because the service had been so reliable. But the office manager was so obnoxious when I questioned her that she upset me. After that, I could not give my business to this firm any more. I made an attempt to speak to one of the Bowman brothers but could not get through to them. I went with Snell, got a better price, quality service, dealt with pleasant and responsive people, and feel much better about it.

Bowman?s installed a new Bradford White gas HW heater and replaced the PRV valve on the main water line. The Technicians, Tom & Jackie were professional, on time, cleaned up after the job, and did excellent work! I have been using Bowman?s for years and always found them to be price competitive, very responsive, and in many cases they are able to do the work same day! Bowman?s also installed a new HW heater and external AC Compressor unit in my previous home and in every case ? top notch work, top quality components, and top shelf service. They do the job right and their price includes many ?extras? that others don?t (metal drip pan, new shut off valves, new expansion tank) and they don?t install the cheap valves ? they use quality ball valves. Bottom line, they do good work for a fair price and it?s done right the first time. In 7 years of using them, I have always found Bowman's to be honest and straight forward. I wish all contactors and service providers operated like Bowman?s!!

I called the office and spoke with Dana who was such a delight. She was able to schedule an appointment for me for the next day. Jackie, the plumber arrived on time and was very helpful. He told me about how long it would take exactly what he was going to He correct the mysterious low water pressure.

All I can say is that these guys know what they are doing. They were in and out on each occasion with a minimum of fuss and replaced all the valves quickly and securely. Good plumbers aren't cheap and neither is Bowman, but they did an A #1 professional job and now we have reliable heavy duty valves and sturdy joints that will last forever.

Same morning service even though it was not a rush job. Arrived, got it done, everything cleaned up, working fine and gone.

They're excellent. I've been using them for 15 years. They were recommended to me by a friend. I found them to be honest. They always call me and keep me informed about what's going on with the job if there are any problems or if it's going to cost any more. Their quotes have always been accurate. I think they've been very fair with their pricing. They do a good job and I'd give them A's.

We found Bowman's technician to be very responsive. We had a list from our home inspection and we had many questions. The technician took the time to fully explain how our heat pump works (we have never had an all electric unit). We were concerned about the age of the unit and thought we might need to replace the condenser filter dryer. The technician told us replacing the unit was not necessary - everything was working well. We were extremely pleased and plan to use Bowman at the new home as well as our rental properties.

We called Bowman's on a Monday morning, hoping to get attention for a leaking toilet within 2-3 days. Bowman's was able to take care of the problem today. The technician arrived on time, diagnosed the problem quickly and proposed a repair. He then did the repair job as proposed in a timely manner and at the cost quoted. The technician was professional, explained clearly what he was doing, and cleaned up at the end. We also liked the clear explanation up front from the company receptionist/dispatcher of the company's charges and approach; e.g. $49 to come to the house and give an estimate, a charge that is applied to the cost of the job if you have the technician do the job. This seemed reasonable, and the final cost was as quoted by the technician. We were pleased with the experience of working with Bowman's and we'll happily use them the next time the need arises.

My issue is with the transparency of the charge. He spent 10-15 min to put the caps on. Then he said he needed to do a 15 min pressure test. The total time should be less than an hour. We were charged $275 for the job. When my wife (I was not home at the time) asked about the itemized cost, he refused to provide her with the information. I am not saying the cost was outrageous, but if you charge by the hour, we need to know how much time you spent for the job and the cost of the parts. And we will accept that. I hope it's not just an arbitrary charge for a woman customer.

I would give them an "A". They did a good job and I also used them for a hot water heater previously.

Everything went well. They were able to arrange the replacement a day after I called. Dana was very helpful on the phone. Kent and Jackie came at the arranged time, and did the job very well. We will be glad to recommend them, and plan to use them again when we have need for plumbing work.

I live in California and own rental property in Ashburn, Virginia so I rely on Angie's List for recommendations for service providers. I keep odd hours so I also rely on electronic communications. I sent a message to this provider via Angie's List online messaging system describing the situation and asking them to contact me. Their immediate reply (the same day) was "call the office". Since it was after hours and I knew I wouldn't be able to call them early the next day, I replied with two quick and easy questions ("do you even deal with gas lines" and "do you have a call/service fee") figuring that they would reply and I could determine if I needed to make time to call them during their business hours or move on since they couldn't provide the service I needed. They never replied to my second message. In the mean time, another provider replied promptly with the answers I needed and I procured their services. Too bad, Bowman.

Bowman's responded to our call promptly and we scheduled an appointment to determine the feasibility of converting our conventional fireplace to gas. Dean arrived on time and spent about 45 minutes reviewing the fireplace situation and finally determined that the conversion was possible but only at (to our mind at least) a very high price. He was professional and the advice he gave seemed solid. We will be looking to heat our basement in another manner but it was good to explore the gas option.

I contacted Bowman's plumbing to repair an outdoor hose bib that was leaking in my front yard. I wanted to minimize the time I'd have to stay at home, so I asked, and was promised, I'd be scheduled as the first appointment. I provided my cell number. On the day of the appointment, Jackie attempted to call me when I was on the phone on a conference call. Obviously I didn't answer the call (and Jackie should have known I was on another call -- my and most cell phones make a unique ring when busy and going to call waiting). Jackie concluded that since I did not answer, he would not come to the house and went on another appointment, wasting my time. When he showed up, I told him I'd been promised first appointment and he said since he could not get a hold of me he would not come to the house. Essentially, this is accusing me of lying: if I tell Bowman I would be home, I mean what I say. I don't need a plumber second guessing me and wasting my time. **UPDATE** Dear Bowman plumbing, that is exactly what I was told on the phone. NOBODY on the phone explained to me that if I didn't answer the phone the plumber would not show up. Strike 1. Jackie took pictures of my hose bib. He did not recognize the faucet but said he'd check for parts with his supplier but warned me that if he could not get parts he'd have to replace the whole faucet. Fair enough. I showed him where the faucet would have to be installed, from my basement, and he gave me an estimate. I showed him two other faucets/hose bibs around my house, and showed him the one I really liked -- a quarter-turn valve -- and told him if I needed replacement that was the style I really liked and the style I really wanted. Then, I told Jackie I was about to go on a week-long business trip, but he should contact us when he was ready to repair/replace the faucet because other members of the family would be home. That's the last I heard from him until I contacted Bowman upon my return, when I learned nothing had been done to fix the hose bib. **UPDATE** No, in my opinion it was Jackie's role to contact my household once he was ready to do the work. I would have no way of knowing WHEN he might be ready since I can't read his mind remotely. Did he find the parts? Did he need to install a new valve? Did he have a chance to talk to his supplier? It is my opinion he needed to get back to me to let me know. Strike 2. So Jackie came to the house and installed a new faucet (he was unable to find replacement parts). Wouldn't you know it, though, instead of installing a quarter-turn valve, like we'd discussed and I'd asked him, he installed a regular multi-turn valve. It's as if he didn't care what I wanted. **UPDATE** So, rather than telling the plumber what I wanted done, according to Bowman I was supposed to research the repair and get my own part? So, why did I hire a plumber and tell him what I wanted done, exactly? The response provided by Bowman to my review is as good an exposition of their attitude as my review. Strike 3. So, I will never, ever hire Bowman again. Yes, they fixed the leak. But that's sort of minimum for a plumber: sweating copper pipe to replace a faucet is not rocket science. But the lack of professionalism and lack of respect for customers is unforgivable.

Dana noticed that the toilet I brought him in to fix had a crack all along the bottom of the tank. He told me my choices and I decided to go purchase a new toilet which he installed in no time.

Jackie was our technician and the service he provided was excellent. When he didn't have the replacement line in his vehicle, he immediately made a trip to the local home repair store to purchase the line, returned within minutes, and completed the repair. He was knowledgeable, personable, and professional; and he went above and beyond what most company's would have done in order to get the repair done the same day. I will definitely use this company again.

It went very well. He was here for quite a while making sure that the heater was working & would continue to run.
