Description of Work: I called the provider on Saturday for an estimate for a broken water line. A lady picked up a call. I didn't feel she's friendly. She said she would be in touch with a contractor and got back to me. She never did. In comparison, another provider got back to me in five minutes.

Description of Work: I had the plumber replace the sump pump as a preventative measure. They had replaced the previous sump pump 10 years ago and both times they were professional, prompt and performed the work flawlessly.

Description of Work: Bowman's plumbing was very professional and helpful. They came for a leaky toilet, but determined that the entire unit had to be replaced. We scheduled them to come back, however decided to replace it on our own to save money. It was easy to cancel that appointment and did not have any extra charges.

Description of Work: Replaced heater/air conditioning system professionally and efficiently. When Jeff responded to my call regarding loud noises emanating from the heater, he examined it and asked questions regarding history, etc. While at first recommending replacing only the heater motor, he then explained after looking at the AC unit and considering the age - nearly 15 years - that it would be more practical to replace the entire system. He thoroughly explained the options. Both units were installed, the old ones removed, and everything completely cleaned up. Bowman's has always been extremely responsive, professional, and extremely helpful. I appreciate their work and high level of customer service.

Description of Work: Contacted Bowman's on Sunday morning stating that one of the heating systems was making a humming noise and there was an occasional smell of something burning. An appointment was made for 8-12 on Monday morning. They never showed, nor did they call. We contacted them on Monday afternoon to ask what had happened. The woman we spoke with was rude and stated that they did not send out either of their trucks due to the inclement weather nor did they call their customers to say they would not be coming. For the record, it snowed Sunday night into Monday morning covering the grass areas with a few inches of snow.

Description of Work: The person (I believe one of the owner's) who answererd the phone was knowledgeable and efficient. It ended up not being a plumbing problem, yet the plumber was helpful in helping me determine what the problem was and while there gave me some plumbing advise. Overall positive experience.

Description of Work: My house (and plumbing) was built in 1959. I had a stopped up bathroom sink and tub. They came as soon as they could - plowing through the thick morning rush hour traffic. He quickly found out the problem was a badly blocked drain pipe and cleaned it out - no muss no fuss - just promptly cleaned the pipe. And, then very graciously looked over all the pipes and told me 'if this happens it probably might be this' - I couldn't ask for more - I won't hit the panic button if something happens - I will call these guys.

Description of Work: I called Bowman's after the water company alerted me to the fact that my water was running at a rate of several gallons a minute, even though there was no evidence of this in the house. Bowman's made a preliminary visit and offered three price points for partial water line replacement depending on the distance from the "crock" by the street. Because the "crock" was dry and because we could hear water movement when standing next to the main line in the house, we were pretty sure the leak was under the slab, and this turned out to be the case. (Yes, Northern Virginia, our house does not have a basement. ) They began work around noon and had excavated my front yard, following the line of the current waterline (tunneling UNDER my sidewalk and my 6-month-old flagstone walkway and found a way to enter the house and ultimately the closet with the water heater without damaging any drywall. They tried valiantly and with great effort to pull up individual boards of the 5-year-old "engineered hardwood" (because of the slab) foyer flooring. The foyer is largish (approximately 15' by 12'). However, because the floor had been glued down, salvaging was impossible. They cut out and pried up the minimum area possible to lay the new waterline inside the house. When the sleeved waterline was working, they then replanted all temporarily removed shrubbery, filled in the excavation area outside, raked it smooth, planted seed and strew protective straw. They came back the next day to cement over the exposed water pipe in the foyer. This was an extraordinary repair completed with exceptional skill and professionalism by Bowman's Plumbing. In addition to the skill and dedication of the excavating team (at times numbering 8+ people), the job coordinator and estimate writer was extremely informative and sensitive to my dismay over having to ultimately refloor my foyer. She came to oversee the beginning of the work. And she and her crew chief , as well as all the Bowman's team, tried mightily to minimize the impact of the necessary repair. A poignant note. The original Mr. Bowman was a plumber in the Herndon/Sterling/Leesburg area for many years. When I moved to Herndon in 1990, I often had to call him to help with the numerous leaks generated by my polybutylene pipes-now completely replaced. I particularly recall one leak that was under the slab between my kitchen sink and the main line. Where others whom I had called for an estimate were ready to jackhammer on the spot, Mr. Bowman said he could slip a slightly narrower tube inside the leaking pipe with only minimum reduction in faucet pressure. Brilliant! He would no doubt be proud of his legacy, a family owned HVAC and Plumbing business with caring expertise. I could not recommend them more highly. "

Description of Work: inspect a probable leak and fix a toilet

Description of Work: Our main water pipe was leaking huge amounts of water. The County shut off the water supply. Obviously, this was a drastic situation with no water available. Bowman's has provided excellent service in the past, but we decided to get more than one estimate. Bowman's was - by far - the most efficient and helpful. They provided three estimates - one for inside and two for outside - depending on the location of the leak - at no extra charge and with complete explanations. They provided all the necessary information, including obtaining the permit from the County and permission from the HOA. They worked on Saturday to restore water as soon as possible. Digging proved a challenge as the markings by the utility were approximately two feet "off". They located the leak, replaced the pipe, cleaned out lots of "junk fill" from the builder, then replaced the dirt, reseeded the grass, and covered it with hay to protect it. Dana, Chuck, Tiffany, Doug and the entire crew consistently kept us informed throughout the entire process. They completed all the work with evident professionalism and much good humor. I will certainly continue to use Bowman's and recommend them to others. Bowman's is a terrific family-owned business with a strong customer service-based philosophy. They all worked hard to correct our plumbing problem and especially to ease the crisis for us and get everything completed before Thanksgiving, for which we are grateful.

Description of Work: The plumber; Jackie, arrived on time to replace a sump pump in the basement. He was very helpful in explaining the results of his inspection. While installing the pump he also stablized a pipe that runs from the pump area. He showed me the old pump and the hole in it that was acquired over the many years it was in the pump area. The pump is running great. I appreciated Jackie's helpful comments and his pleasant attitude. I would certainly use Bowman plumbing (formerly Everetts) again.

Description of Work: I needed a furnace inspection on very short notice. The technician came out and arrived right on the dot. He worked on the furnace and answered my questions in a professional manner. I was very happy with the service.

Description of Work: I had a flooding toilet that I couldn't unclog and I wasn't sure if it was a pipe problem or not. I called Everett's Plumbing and since they had no emergency people available, the man on the phone walked me through diagnosis of the problem and how to fix it myself. Turns out it was just the toilet and it was so great that he helped me over the phone - I think some others might have just let me take an appointment and wait.

Description of Work: Two trips to advise on the best routing of HVAC and plumbing during a recent remodel. They have been very prompt, helpful and connected me with a distributor who normally sells only to commercial. I am calling them to complete the kitchen plumbing and have already referred them to several friends who have been equally pleased with their work.
