It went very well. The workers came when they said they would, and completed the job quickly. The new roof is excellent, and I am very pleased with the price. I expected it would be considerably higher.

This was maybe the most professional and competent contractor I have experienced in the 35 years of living in Loudoun County. Bill and Erin communicated clearly, concisely and often. He and his crew were punctual and worked their butts off to get the job done in a expeditious manner so as not to deal with inclement weather. It was obviously a very big job done on a very large home. I got three estimates, all of them were within the same range, give or take $1000. However, the competitors' estimates contemplated additional costs; Bill's did not as he did not shy away from working around skylights or negotiating certain challenges that our roof presented. I highly recommend Augustine Roofing to anyone who needs a new roof. Actually, I can't say enough good things about the company.

From the outset we had a wonderful experience working with Bill, his assistant, Erin, and the highly-skilled team of his company roofers. Because of Erin's good advice on our initial call about repairing our leaky roof, we contacted our insurance company to investigate what our homeowners' insurance policy would cover. The insurance company adjustor determined that we had extensive damage to our 18 year old roof and that it would need total replacement. After obtaining four quotes and talking to numerous "storm chasers" from out of town companies who were scouting our neighborhood trying to close deals on new roofing everywhere, we realized that Bill Augustine's company was the only one around that was locally owned and who had extensive positive reviews on Angie's list. We read every single comment in each review submitted by his previous customers and were convinced after meeting him that he was a delightful, funny and honest "straight shooter" who really knew the roofing business. Bill's quote was the lowest one we received and he gave it to us within 30 minutes after checking our roof and taking measurements. (Some of the others took two weeks to submit a quote.) Bill did not ask to see what our insurance company was willing to cover as did all of the other contracting companies (who seem to adjust their prices based upon the insurance claims.) Bill Augustine said that his pricing for a job is the same no matter who is paying. That fact is quite different from the others who wanted to know "how much we were good for" before giving us a quote. Bill reminded us also that he only does roofing work-- not gutter protection devices or gutters -- only roofing. (We had also had expensive gutter protection devices that had been damaged.) Bill's comment was that he only wanted to specialize in roofing work so that the quality of his work would remain the best. While assessing our roof, Bill observed that our gutter protection devices had been improperly installed four years ago. The gutter protection installers had nailed their product into the shingles incorrectly and due to that factor, had caused much underlayment wood damage near the edge of the roof and gutter areas. He suggested that we seriously consider other options in the future. He also stated that he would be willing to call the original gutter protection company on our behalf and see if they would be willing to accept responsibility for the damage caused to our roof. We agreed and asked that he call them since we had already been in contact with them to replace the existing protection devices and received a quote from them and unfortunately had signed a new contract. Because of Bill's intervention, the gutter protection company agreed to accept responsiblity for the damage and "came down significantly" on their price for replacement of the product. Bill also told their company rep and the installation foreman that, if they did not replace the devices properly on the next installation for us that their actions could void his roofing company's warranty. To make sure that they did the install correctly, Bill said he would personally oversee their new installation work at no additional cost to us the homeowners. Within one week of giving us the quotation for a new roof with upgraded shingles (our choice) and bringing shingle samples to our home to pick out a style and color, Bill's entire roofing crew arrived early on a Saturday morning. They worked efficiently and courteously for the entire day until sunset and completed more than ninety-five percent of the job (big house). They cleaned up everything and made sure that no debris was left in our yard or anywhere else. The crew worked practically nonstop for more than twelve hours-- stopping briefly to eat lunch brought to them by Erin. Bill insisted that the roof be totally water-tight everywhere before leaving. A smaller crew came back the next day and finished some small detail work. The roofing was absolutely beautiful and made a huge difference in the overall look of our home! My husband and family were amazed that these hard working men could be so happy working on our large, steep roof on a very hot day and still have the professionalism to smile and be courteous the entire time. We had expected them to take at least a week to do the work, but they finished in record time because of the crew. Bill and some of his men even came back a few days later to replace a couple of boards of rotted wood trim (not part of the original roofing estimate) that he felt would make our home look better. He did not charge us for this additional work. Our home square footage is approximately 3000 and our home is a very high-pitched two story house. During the roofing replacement Bill's men found approximately fourteen sheets of damaged plywood under the shingles -- many which had been caused by the gutter protection installers. We saw the damaged pieces first hand and then understood exactly what he had said previously. Bill promised to make sure that the gutter protection installation would be done correctly next time when we got to that part of the final job. On a side note, Bill and Erin understood that we were dealing with our mortgage company and the insurance claim. They were willing to work with us and wait until the claim money was available to them and all approvals and legal forms submitted, etc. We never felt pressured. They were understanding and totally supportive and courteous throughout the entire process from start to finish. At the end of the job our family felt as though we had not only had a beautiful roof put on our house, but that our faith in working with honest contractors had been restored. We would recommend Augustine Roofing to anyone -- in an instant with no hesitation.

They were absolutely terrific. They were very responsive and very fair. They are very honest and do the work just as he committed to do. They do an excellent job. Erin runs the office, and is very responsive. She always follows up. They did a great job cleaning up when they were finished. They brought their whole crew in at 8 in the morning and stayed until 8 at night to get finished in one day. His pricing was very fair for the job.

From initial enquiry to completion we were very impressed with this company. As well as his professionalism, Bill Augustine and his assistant Erin, went above and beyond. The roofing crew were polite and did a great job both with replacing our roof and with clean up afterwards. This company was recommended to us by a friend and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Bill was very professional, as was Erin in his office. He always was prompt in returning phone calls. I contacted another roofer who never got back to me with an estimate. I thought Bill's estimate was very fair, and the work was done most satisfactory

It went OUTSTANDING. I HAVE TOLD THE STORY IN THE UPPER BLOCK. I will add that I am a senior citizen and the extra time he took with me in explaining and helping me with honest advice was important to me.. I highly recommend this company.

Roof replacement was the fastest and most efficient job we've ever experienced. The 8-member roof crew completed the work within 4 hours! This was not a small house, approximately 2,000 sq. ft. We personally got up on top of the house and visually inspected the roof. Everything looked A-OK. Additionally, they thoroughly cleaned up all leftover debris both on the roof and around the house. His 3-member gutter crew completed gutter replacement within 2 hours in 96 degree heat and just before a heavy rainstorm. During the storm, there was no sign of dripping or leakage from the new gutters. Bill Augustine, the roofing company owner, did not require any advance payment until job completion. Of the several estimates we received, his was the only one not requiring a down payment or a full payment up front! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Mr. Augustine came soon after I talked to him and gave me an estimate on the roof and explained everything to me. His men did a beautiful job on the roof and cleaned up everything when they were finished. Mr. Augustine was fair and had a laid back approach when dealing with me and did not require a down payment. I highly recommend this young man and his company.

I awoke on Saturday morning to find my foyer covered with water and drips coming from the ceiling. A small branch had landed on the roof in a storm and punctured a small hole. I called a few places, but Augustine Roofing called me back right away and said they would come out that day to take a look at it. Bill Augustine and his wife stopped by a short while later. Despite the rain, Bill went up on the roof and inserted an extra shingle to prevent any more water from coming in. I was so impressed with them that I made arrangements for him to come back and do a permanent repair. Unfortunately, the crew that came to do the repair was not as impressive. While they successfully repaired the hole, I had a difficult time getting them to satisfactorily re-attach a loose soffet and metal flashing in another area. It was better when they left than it had been before, but water still ran off the side of the roof. Because Bill took such great care of us on the day of the storm, I will give him another shot at my business despite the less impressive performance of his crew.

I chose Augustine Roofing (AR) after obtaining bids from 4 other companies, all of which I learned of through Servicemagic company. AR contacted me immediately after I requested an estimate and became the lowest bidder (by $300), which made me a bit skeptical initially but after comparing the details of their proposed scope of work, I became confident that they could perform the task. I was also impressed with AR's communication with me during the period leading up to my final decision as I had many questions that were filed to AR via email or telephone calls. All of my phone calls were answered the same day either by the owner, Bill, or his wife, Erin who also works at the company. I think the two make a great team. Once I made a decision to go with AR, they were efficient in selecting a date of repair. The team showed up the day before actual workday to pre-position all of the materials and then the next day, they were right on schedule early in the morning. I came home that day only to find a brand new roof and no sign of ever having any roofing work done that day. The AR crew had completely cleaned up my driveway and backyard, and it looked as if someone cleaned up the entire house. The roof looked fantastic. It was the easiest contracting job I ever had to deal with. I would recommend AR to absolutely anyone. Bill Augustine was a dependable owner who has effective communication skills and runs a first rate operation in the region.

We solicited bids from three roofing companies. Augustine was (by far) the most efficient in getting back to us with an estimate and provided a very fair price. This is a small company and in our case it was a great fit! The office manager, Erin, is personable, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. The owner, Bill, came out to do the estimate and talked us through various color options and indicated what his team could do for us. When he left our first meeting we had an estimate, a full shingle sample (to use in our HOA approval process) and the shingle manufacturer's materials, as well as a link to its website. We had a slight delay in beginning our project because of rain storms, but not an onerous delay. Erin was great about working with us to find a rescheduled date that would work with our family's needs. The complete job was finished in one day (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). The crew was pleasant and considerate. The job site was left clean and neat. We found a few roofing nails in the yard that washed off after the next rain storm, but only five or six. A few days after the job was complete, Bill came back by the house to make sure we were happy with the end result. We would recommend Augustine Roofing. We felt like they cared about getting our business and worked to do a good job from first to last contact.

This company is no-nonsense professionalism! Bill Augustine came out to my house and gave his honest opinion about the condition of my roof. There are no flashy sales people with high pressure sales to deal with. Mr. Augustine is honest, straight forward, and takes great pride in his work. If you've ever watched the show "Holmes on Homes" this is the type of guy that Mike Holmes would hire because he does not just replace a roof; he replaces a roof right and with pride in his work. The materials showed up a week before the install. They were hoisted up to the roof and left for Mr. Augustine and his crew. On the day of install the crew showed up at 7AM and got right to work. I do recommend being prepared for the installation day because this type of work is LOUD. Mr. Augustine, and his crew, placed tarps around the entire perimeter of the house to catch falling debris, and they also used a magnet to clean up loose nails after the job was done. They did the entire roof in one day including removing all the old roofing material, replacing rotted wood, new singles/flashing/drip edge/weather guard, and clean up. Several neighbors have commented on how great the roof looks, how professional the crew was, and how quickly they got the job done - and I couldn't agree more!

Bill and his group are great. Bill is a no nonsense type of guy. He gives a good quote (the best we received after looking at about 6 companies) and tells you the advantages and disadvantages of the different products he can provide. He was backed up on his gutter orders, so it took longer than expected, but the work was done right. Just from our extensive shopping around, Augustine Roofing was the best value in the whole Northern Virginia area.

Start of project was delayed twice due to rain, but Bill was ready when the weather broke so there were no further delays. Roofing crew showed up at 8:00a.m., done by 3:30, finished clean-up and gone by 4:00. Good job, good clean-up with no damage, lots of rain since but no leaks. Two things that put Bill ahead of the competition (besides competitive price): He was the only estimator to actually get up on the roof; and his wife and partner, Erin, who makes sure calls are returned and is just a neat person. Also, impressed that after the contract was signed specifying one brand of shingle, when it became apparent that we wouldn't be able to get the color we wanted in that line, Bill switched to a different brand without fuss or extra charge. He was also patient about getting his money until we could actually get up on the roof and look, as it was a couple of weeks before the snow melted so we could see it (it started snowing the evening the job was done!).

After rescheduling the inspection appointment once (at Augustine's request), they did not show up within 30 minutes of rescheduled appointment time. No one from Augustine called to let me know of a delay, and no one answered my voice mail asking where they were. I left a note informing them that I would find someone else to do the work, and have yet to hear a thing back from them.

Augustine Roofing did an incredible job installing a new roof on my recently purchased house. On schedule, they deposited the materials on my property the day before the job was to be initiated. The next day, they showed up on time, completed the installation, and removed all of the remnants of the old roof without any incident. The price they charged was unbeatable. Bill and Erin were great throughout the process. Bill sent me an estimate for the project via email on the day I first called and kept to the price originally provided. He followed up on all of my subsequent phone calls and showed up on time at my house on the day I met with him to sign the contract. On the day the job was being completed, Bill and Erin spoke to me and addressed all of my questions about the project. I am a first-time home-buyer and was a little worried about dealing with the contracting world. I was extremely fortunate to have found Augustine Roofing. Bill and his crew are first-rate and are definitely the best deal in town. I highly recommend them to anyone needing roofing services.

They gave an estimate for the work to be done. They did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves. They left minor amount of stuff to be cleaned up. They were careful not to damage surrounding plants and shrubs. Their price was in line with everyone else. They were punctual.

They did an excellent job. The owner came by for a time during the job to make sure it was progressing properly. They got it done in a day. One of the reasons we selected them over other companies was that they had specific roofers insurance so that they would cover the cost in case of an accident. They had tarps large enough to cover my home in case they couldn't finish due to rain. The warranty was also significantly longer than the other companies.

They were very responsive. They were also much more reasonably priced than other companies. Bill Augustine personally came out the first time and he was very responsive and honest. Nice guy. I would definitely recommend them and already have.

The owner came for the estimate, was very well informed, friendly and helpful. He was slightly higher than my other bid, but was willing to meet the lower price and included an extended guarantee for the work. He scheduled the work to begin within a week. His team (they only do one job at a time) showed up right on time, were professional, friendly, careful (they protected plants and a hot tub I was worried about before I had to ask) and cleaned up without a trace. They encountered and repaired several invisible problems (rotten decking) and removed a useless attic fan without additional cost. They stayed late to finish the job in one day. The crew manager was especially friendly, careful to keep me informed and efficient.
