Emailed this company through Angieslist website to request a quote. It was several days before I heard from them. They scheduled an appt for the following week. The estimator came and left us with a detailed, itemized quote as well as information on the materials that were being specified however, their price was quite high. A few days later, I received a phone call from the estimator saying his boss wanted him to give "his customers a better price" and requested that we call him back. We did not call back for the revised quote because another company had quoted the exact same materials for the full roof replacement at more than $1500 less than this company's original quote. We prefer to do business with companies that give you a real, honest price from the beginning rather than quoting high and then lowering the price if they do not get the job.

When this roof was replaced in 2011, it was done on the day agreed upon and the price was the same as the estimate. The crew was very cordial and neat and did a good job on fixing the roof near the skylights which had been leaking. The foreman returned the next day, when it was raining, to make sure they were no longer leaking. It is now approximately a year later and after Sandy I had a leak near one of my skylights. Augustine sent a man out to investigate quickly and determined the problem was with an abutment of my siding to the roof. He repaired it. I feel that the guarantee which I received with the roof was taken seriously, and I feel if I have any other problems they will respond well.

They had lights and worked and night. They were honest and responsive and the workers were courteous and clean. There wasn't a single nail or piece of roof left.

Even though we ended up not using Augustine's, the two people I spoke to were extremely courteous, very accommodating in terms of appointments and very responsive (called me back within a couple of hours both times i left a message). I had also called 2 other companies and I never heard back from them. I intend to hire Augustine's when we are ready to replace our roof.

Rigo Leon, the sales rep and foreman for the work done at our house, was professional and helpful throughout the project. It took a while for us to work through issues with the insurance company and Rigo was patient and very adaptive relative to the amounts the insurance company allowed for various repairs. When we decided that we wanted not just the repairs to the damaged portion of the roof done, but instead, replace the house's entire roof as well as all the leaders and gutters, Rigo worked with us throughout the process in selecting materials and dates of service. Rigo's team took one day to remove the old roof, fix the hole in the roof's sub structure caused by the falling tree and put on a new roof . A couple of days later, another crew came and installed new seamless gutters and leaders. The crews were fast and efficient and cleaned up afterwards so there was no trace that they had been there. Overall, we are very happy with the work done and the process involved. We decided not to have the roof replaced on one elevation because we will be having a dormer built on soon and thus the existing roof removed and restructured. Once the sub structure is in place, Rigo will be back to put the roof onto the new structure. We are very happy with the work done and the professionalism of all concerned.

It went very well all quoted work was performed

It went pretty well. We got an estimate from Augustine Roofing a year prior and had not hired anyone. We got a reestimate from them and Augustine was very price competitive to other certainteed roofing companies. They were willing to complete the roof as soon as we were ready. Augustine showed up in the morning and completed the job very efficiently and by mid-afternoon. Our roof looks really nice. We had also asked them to close the gable vents. Unfortunately the roofers did forget, but they came back when we were ready to close them up. One of the three gables could not be accessed anymore since it didn't have attic access. Other than that, Augustine was very good to work with.

overall, the quality of their work was outstanding. They also installed the roof in a day, working extremely fast. That was also the source of a challenge in the finished product - while they replaced 20 sheets of plywood over the whole house roof, they neglected to replace another 6 which would have made it look perfect from the front driveway. They didn't need to be replaced functionally, but it would have looked better.

Choosing Augustine Roofing was one of the best things we've ever done. Every part of the process from the first phone call through installation was effortless and carefree for us. Rick came to the house and explained everything in detail. Rick's knowledge of every aspect of roofing was outstanding and he took the time to answer all of our questions. When we had additional questions, he returned our calls quickly. The job was done in ONE day and the shingles were delivered the previous day. The site supervisor was a perfectionist and his installation team were all very competent and courteous people who took pride in their work. We had some concerns about delicate expensive plants next to the garage and Rick assured us that the plants would be protected. We were stunned when we went outside and saw the "tent" they had constructed, consisting of tarp and wooden supports, over the plantings. The old shingles were thrown into a dump truck with minimum debris on lawn during the job. They have all of the equipment and skills to do the job right. My husband has experience with construction requirements and checked the work while in progress. He was very impressed with the quality of the install and the materials used. When the job was done, there wasn't a single leaf or branch damaged anywhere around the house. Their clean-up was meticulous and every nail, every shingle, every bit of trash was gone. They used a magnet for nail retrieval and a vacuum for granules on porch and sidewalks. Our yard looked better than before they arrived. Everyone was extremely professional and genuinely nice. We have a beautiful roof that was expertly installed and have received numerous compliments from neighbors and friends. If you want peace of mind throughout the process, you want Rick and the Augustine Roofing crew!

The men arrived on time, finished the job that day, cleaned up after themselves and I haven't had any problems since the work was complete. They were very pleasant to do work with and did this at a reasonable price.

The roof on our house was twenty years old and had damaged shingles. I spent some time online and knew exactly what was needed and what I wanted. Augustine gave us the best estimate and were by far the best at listening to my requirements and giving us what we wanted. They did the job in a timely manner and were very professional. They did a great job. Bill and his team answered many questions prior to installation. They provided samples and gave me several addresses of homes with the roofs that we were considering. They kept us in the loop when installations would take place. The yard was cleaned up nicely after the job was completed. His team installed our main roof in nearly 100 degree heat. We replaced the cedar shake roof of our house with shingle and after contacting four different roofers from AngiesList as well as recommendations from others, we gave the work to Augustine Roofers. Our rationale for choosing Augustine was a combination of their reputation for excellent work as well as the positive feelings we got when we met with Bill Augustine who owns the company. He obviously knows the roofing business inside out and offered us a couple of alternatives in terms of the type of shingles we should go with in doing the replacement. Augustine Roofers was not the cheapest but their pricing was certainly competitive and they were completely above board in terms of the pricing. We have a large, steep roof - approximately 58 squares - and so it was an expensive project and we needed to be sure that we retained the best roofer. They completed the project in two days and had as many as 11 workers on the task. I would like to give Emilio who was in charge of the workers special mention. He was very professional, communicated well with me, very polite and courteous and went out of his way to make sure that we understood what was being done. He had several very experienced people working with him on the project. Almost through the entire project, there were a couple of people basically doing just the "clean-up" as the old roof was brought down. By the time the work was completed the surrounding area was left in immaculate condition. I have no hesitation in recommending Augustine Roofers for any roofing project ............ you can be sure, based on our experience, that you will be dealing with a professional outfit that seeks to make sure the customer is treated fairly with a quality end-product. We made the right decision when we retained Bill Augustine to replace our roof!

I obtained 4 quotes. Bill's quote was the best overall, as I was able to get the top quality shingles at the lowest price. This is the CertainTeed architectural shingle with the full CertainTeed Landmark series with a lifetime guarantee, and I was able to get Bill to include gutter screens through discussions. He was very responsive, and the crew was very professional. Bill came out to inspect the roof with me, and everything was in good order. I was so happy with the work and to get it done before Hurricane Sandy. I could sleep well knowing that I had a new roof installed by Bill's team. I highly recommend Bill and Augustine Roofing.

We set up an appointment with Augustine Roofing to come and evaluate our home and the technician did not show. I never received a call cancelling the appointment and when I called to find out what happen I ended up leaving a voicemail message that was never returned. Can't speak for the quality of their work but the professionalism is definitely lacking so needless to say I'll look elsewhere in a couple of years when my roof needs to be replaced. Update: I was contacted by Bill from Augustine roof on 11/12/2012 after I assume he saw this posting. He informed me that when we were confirming the date and time of the appointment he had e-mailed me to confirm the date since I incorrectly linked the day (Friday) with the wrong date. He indicated that I never got back to him to confirm the appointment. In fact I did send an e-mail confirming both the correct date and time on September 11th. I can't vouch for it not getting caught by a spam filter and never making it to his inbox. However, even assuming my e-mail never made it I would think that a company interested in earning my business would have followed up via phone or e-mail.

I had contacted this company based on the reviews provided on Angies List. I contacted them on a Saturday and did receive a callback later that same day and was able to make an appointment for Wednesday the following week. A gentleman by the name of Rigo came out he was professional, polite, and efficient. He went up on my roof to see what might be causing the ceiling leak in our master bath. It turns out a 6x3 section of shingles had been blown off. He provided pictures of the roof, gave me a reasonable quote and went over everything that was included. I accepted the estimate and was told the work would be completed by 10/13/12. I asked if I needed to contact the company to schedule an appt. Rigo advised me I did not need to call I would be put on the schedule and I did not need to be home for the work to be completed. I was very relieved at this point and glad the issue would be taken care of prior to the next storm. Unfortunately.... Saturday came and went. No work was done, there were no attempts by the company to contact me. I attempted to reach the company twice on Saturday and received no callback. I contacted the company on Monday afternoon since I had not received a callback regarding the voicemails I had left. The gentleman that answered did not apologize or explain what happened but advised me he would have the estimator/foreman that came out initially call me. When I received a call back later that day, Rigo apologized that they had not made it out on the promised date. I was told the roof would be repaired the following morning. I was in and out all morning, so I called questioning if the work had been done, I was told it had been completed. I asked if they were going to send me an invoice, and if I could have a picture of the completed work. I was told no problem they would stop by the following week at some point and email a photo to me along with an invoice. I waited.... I sent an email asking about the previously requested items, I got an email with a paid in full invoice. I never received the requested photo. In the end, they showed up and completed the work and my roof hasn't leaked since. I just think the customer service was poor... It's not hard to call a customer when you're not going to show up, and if you take a picture of the roof to show the customer what needs to be repaired, you should be just as willing to take pictures of the completed work.

Scheduled me quickly, very nice and have experience with working with insurance companies which is very important to me.

My husband had most of the contact with Augustine's and is not available to help me complete this survey. Our overall impression was that all communication and work was completed to our complete satisfaction.

I was very happy with the entire process of having my large roof completely replaced. They were prompt, reasonably priced, and very professional in operating their business. I will recommend them to others and will surely use them again myself if I have any roofing needs.

Very responsive from initial inquiry to get estimate for roof replacement all the way through the completion of the work. Bill Augusitine (owner) conducted the estimate and provided very detailed information regarding work to be conduct, product warrenty for materials, and warrenty for labor. Once contract signed, very good about coordinating schedule and providing detailed information for the home owners association. When work conducted. Workers arrived early, worked very efficiently, and were very aware of areas surrounding the house. All but 1 small portion of the roof was completed in 1 day. Returned next work day early to finish the job. The new roof is excellant and the workers did a great job of making sure house was very clean when the job was done. We have been all around the house and there are no nails or debris laying around. I highly recommend Augustine roofing for any job. very good to work with this company.

When I was looking to replace the roof of my house, I started asking around for references. One of my neighbors that had recently replaced his roof recommended me Augustine Roofing. He told me that he found them through Angie's List and that, after checking two other vendors, he decided to go with Augustine Roofing because of good service, quality of the materials, price and honesty. He was right. As I did not know much about roofs, the person that answered my call was very efficient and friendly, and explained to me all I needed to know about their service; so, I schedule for an appointment. The day of the appointment, Rigo Leon, their salesperson, arrived on time, was very professional in his presentation, polite and very pleasant to deal with. he responded to all my questions, especially regarding the difference between installing a ridge vent or an electric fan in the attic, and the kind of shingle material they used, and went the extra mile to make sure that i felt comfortable with my decision. The day of the installation, the whole crew arrived on time and did the installation in an efficient and timely manner; when they finished, they cleaned after them leaving the area in good and clean condition. Days later, I was pleasantly surprised when the owner, Bill Augustine, called me directly to follow up on the service and to know if I was satisfied with the installation. I took advantage to indicate him that the attic electric fan that was installed was kind of loud; he told me that he would follow up on this to check that everything was right. A couple of days later, Rigo called me and went to my house to check wait the problem was. It seems that the fan that was installed was a little big for the size of my attic, so it was replaced with another model. I want to thank RIgo for his help and attention during the whole process. Overall, I am very satisfied with the installation; it is always nice to deal with a company that is committed to good service and I definitely recommend Augustine Roofing.

In June 2012, my roof was damaged during a major windstorm. My insurance company determined that it needed to be replaced rather than repaired or roofed over. Augustine Roofing was one of 4 contractors I contacted. They responded quickly to my request for an estimate and waited patiently while the other estimates were received. Bill Augustine suggested, and I agreed, that the ridge vent could be extended during the process, thereby increasing the ventilation in my attic. I received no such suggestion from any other potential vendor. Once I awarded the contract, everything went like clockwork. An installation date was set (since I work from home they thought to inquire about any disruption the noise would cause). The materials were delivered the day before and the installation crew showed up around 8:15 the morning of the installation. Other than the new roof and requisite pounding, one would never know the crew had been here. They went about their job in a professional manner and every last bit of materials and debris was removed from the area upon completion of the job.
