Victor and his team are very professional and did a wonderful job on our deck. Many neighbors have commented on how well-built it is and how nice it looks. The handyman team did a great job on all of our projects, including fixit jobs and gutter cleaning. They also did some painting on the trim of the house in conjunction with the deck work. We are very happy with Ashburn Handyman and would use them again.

Victor responded quickly with an estimate and scheduled the work right away. His staff showed up on time and were very courteous and professional. Our home was quite dirty and, I must admit, I had my doubts about how clean they would get it. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see they restored it to new. It sparkles - even at those high difficult peaks! They left the site neat and were careful about our landscaping. Would definitely use this contractor again and recommend to others. Job well done.

I greatly appreciate the assistance and service that Mr. Victor and his team provided. Mr. Victor went beyond what he promised us. He gave us helpful advice concerning the job. His team was professional, showing up on time. I was really impressed with the quality and care they took in doing the work we asked. Several different times they pointed out things that could be changed/upgraded (our house is an old Arlington house), but never pushed us to make alterations to push up the price. I really felt he was "on my side." I would definitely use them again and recommend them. Thanks, Mr. Victor!

It took Victor a while to get back to us and once he did he failed to show for our scheduled appointment. He also failed to call and say he wasn't coming. Here is a list of all the excuses he gave us as to why he couldn't get back to us and kept requesting information we had already provided over and over again. 1. my phone fell in the water and I lost my contacts 2. our email service isn't working correctly 3. we moved offices 4. our phone number changed. And that was all within about 1.5-2 weeks!! Finally we schedule a date/time for an estimate and Victor didn't show...or call to say he wasn't going to show. We (reluctantly) rescheduled. This time Victor arrived. He was fairly courteous while listening to the description of the work we desired. A few days later he provided us with a quote. It was BY FAR the highest quote we received. I'm talking 3 times greater than the other bids. Either Victor had no desire to work with us or he completely misjudged the time/cost of the work to be performed. We did not select him.

After work got underway,the Contractor discovered a lot more damaged wood than included in his original bid which resulted in an $1100 increase in costs. The quality of workmanship of the wood repairs and painting were good although I had to spend a couple of hours cleaning up miscellaneous construction debris from my yard after they left (small pieces of wood, old nails) . With regards to the window replacement, in retrospect I should have used a window replacement company. The new window took almost 4 months for the contractor to procure after I had paid for it in April and its not an exact replacement so it looks different from the adjacent windows. I was also charged an additional $300 for unforeseen conditions associated with the window replacement (which included some additional minor dry wall repairs and painting that I requested-I wasn't provided a break down of the additional charges). I also had invoicing issues (was over billed $900) that were eventually corrected after several phone calls. Overall, I would likely use this contractor again for painting services but would plan on setting aside 20-25% for contingency funds for "issues" that crop up during the construction activities.

It took about a week to get a response to the initial contact due to Victor being on vacation. The person came out on June 25th or 26th and said they would email the estimate by June 28th. I sent a reminder for the estimate on July 2nd. As of July 13th I have not received a response and have decided to use a different contractor in Ashburn, VA.

Victor and his crew showed up on time and Victor walked through each task with us before he left his crew to work. His crew was professional, thorough, and kind. We will absolutely use them again.

The price for the shelves and crown molding was extremely reasonable. The job did take longer than estimated, but that did not change the price. Victor and his team were very accommodating on the scheduling of the work. When I needed work done on the outside soffit, Victor got someone there very quickly and fixed the problem - which ended up being caused by another contractor who I had used a year earlier to 'fix' a different problem. In my opinion, Victor and his team are very trustworthy, knowledgeable, and want to do a good job for their customers. I have recommended Ashburn Handyman to several people in my development.

Great, the quality of work was excellent. Although a slight language barrier with the workers, enjoyed working with them, they cleaned up quite nicely after themselves as well. Were conscientious of the cleanliness of our house while doing the work.

After carefully and professionally inspecting the items that needed repairs, Victor handwrote the "to do" list, and the prices we agreed on. Victor did not give me a copy of the list and price quotes, stating that it is scribbled and he will type it and email it to me in a day or so. The garbage disposal could not be replaced that very day because I needed an electric plug for the new one, since the old garbage disposal was hardwired. An electrician came very promptly the very next day and did the electric work in 20 minutes. Now I was without any functioning garbage disposal and dishwasher, while waiting for the new garbage disposal to be installed. A week passed and I did not hear back from Victor, so I hired a plumber to install the new garbage disposal that could no longer wait. I left a message to Victor that I already installed the garbage disposal, but I really need the rotten window sill replaced ASAP to avoid further damage to the drywall and floors. Rainy weather was approaching, and as of today, June 5, 2013 the work is still not done. I talked to Victor two days ago, and he told me he had a death in the family, and had to travel out of town, and could not send me the written estimate or do the work. I suppose that occurred about the same time when the other Angie's List customers posted negative reviews that Victor did not return their calls. I am very sympathetic with Victor, a death in the family is stressful, and difficult to deal with. That is why I resisted temptation and did not give him an "F" for not responding, but went with N/A instead. I still hope Victor will finally come to do the work, and that the one month delay was caused by personal problems. I have started ltalking today with another handyman who gave me the price based on the picture of the window sil, and might come and do the work either tomorrow or the day after.

We are very disappointed that our attempts to reach this Handyman for an estimate were unanswered.

Victore was fairly responsive after getting my message and gave me an estimate and arrange the repair date. However the tenant decided to do it himself after I provided the material. Thus I called Victor and canceled the appointment.

Victor and Anthony are great! The valve was broken on the heater. They had to drain the hot water heater and replace the valve. And, Victor noticed that the garage door was not opening and he fixed that too! They arrived promptly at 12:00 and left at 3:40-3:45. I am very impressed with these gentlemen. Professional, on time, nice, respectful. I would recommend them. I am grateful for the quick response.

Very easy to work with. Quickly diagnosed water issue source and concluded the need for trim caulking and replacement. Clearly had more expertise and patience to diagnose correct issue. Price was fair but expensive. Others offered less to do similar job, but the expertise displayed up front made me confident that the work would be performed correctly, and it was.

I called Ashburn Handyman and spoke with the owner, Victor. He was able to schedule me the next day. He and his guy Anthony showed up right on time. They were able to find the source of the leak with some required drywall cuts. The leak was fixed and all damaged drywall was replaced, mudded and sanded in preparation for painting. The areas were cleaned up and left as they had been found. I would highly recommend Victor and his crew.

They did exactly what I asked. They were extremely busy at the time and took a few days to respond to my first contact. But after that they couldn't have been more professional.

I interviewed several handymen to see if there was a solution to having belatedly discovered a heating/air-conditioning duct right smack in the middle of a wall I had planned to take down. This was a period of anxiety for me since cabinets had already been produced for the location. However, Victor Menendez, owner of Ashburn Handyman, was the only one whose substantial experience contributed to a viable solution. The three members of the team that worked on my project were skilled, punctual, friendly, trustworthy, and cleaned up well after themselves. Although my original project snowballed a bit, necessarily, I couldn't be happier with the end result.

From the beginning Victor was very courteous and willing to work with short notice to get the solution executed and on budget. Victor and his team were able to complete the work quickly, allowing the floor installers to only have minor delay (a couple of days) in completing their work. I would definitely use Ashburn Handyman again.

Emailed Victor back and forth over the weekend and got a commitment before the end of the weekend saying he and his crew would arrive Tuesday morning. Victor arrived with his team at the appointed time. We walked through the jobs, and he and I discussed each to be sure there was a common understanding, plus he discussed it with his crew to ensure they were clear on what to do. They did a great job, got everything done, and cleaned up superbly before calling me to let me know they were ready to walk through the completed work.

Entered info on email form on company website. Was emailed back by Victor about 48 hours later. Emails back and forth, we agreed that he would come on Saturday at 9 am. I let him know that I had other appointments that day. Saturday 9:30 am he was a no show, my wife called both numbers listed on Angie's List and left messages, and I emailed him to ask if he was still coming. By 9:45 no response, so we had to leave for another appointment. At 12:55 I recieve an email saying that he was there at 10:15, rang the doorbell twice got no answer. I emailed him back and told him the appointment was for 9 am not 10:15. His reply was that his office had scheduled him for 10 am. I then reminded him that he set the appointment, not his office to which he replied with a whatever, it was his gas and time he had wasted. No apologies for wasting my time on a Saturday morning. If he can't be prompt for a quote, he will probably not be prompt for a job. Additionally, he lied and then was unprofessional with his response.

I would highly recommend Ashburn Handyman. Victor was very prompt and courteous each time we spoke on the phone. He gave me an estimate of the work when we spoke the first time and followed up that day to set the appointment. Victor and Anthony were on time and very polite. After reviewing what needed to be done, Victor left and Anthony got to work. He finished within an hour and a half and did an excellent job. The shutter was where it needed to be and the hole in the dry wall was gone. The work area was cleaned and I couldn't be happier with the work. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

Victor and his crew were wonderful to work with. The work was all done thoroughly, professionally and in a timely manner, and they went the extra yard to do quality work. For example, we did not realize that a previous owner had taken the lazy route in the kitchen and had glued floor boards and linoleum over the old tile floor, instead of removing the tiles. We never would have known this - but Victor pointed it out, and while he could have simply installed the hardwood over that mess, his crew removed it all first. This was a very laborious task but made for a much higher quality floor installation. They also went beyond the call of duty in moving some of our furniture in order to get the flooring down (there are not a lot of places to hide large items during winter!) The floors and stairs look fantastic, truly great craftsmanship on the entire project. With regard to timing, the relatively small drywall portion of the job was completed in only a few hours, and the much larger flooring project in about a week - which was an excellent turnaround time considering the magnitude of the job. During the early discussions on price and various options for the flooring materials, Victor was frank and honest, spelling out the advantages and disadvantages of different routes we could have taken. His goal was to ensure we were totally satisfied with the work after the job was completed - and now, a month later, we are. We could not have selected a better company to do this extensive work for us. We are very pleased with Ashburn Handyman and will definitely use them again.
