Big shout out to American Screen & Glass. I needed to have the glass pane of my kitchen window replaced. They came out to measure, then ordered the parts, returned to install. Both times when arrived at the promised time and the technicians were friendly and courteous. Quality work and cost was reasonable. I highly recommend American Screen & Glass (703.471.4500).

Got an in-home estimate about $900. I paid 50% upfront Came to my house to do the repair. Broke a window. Left glass everywhere. Revised the estimate to twice as much saying the window was rotten ( but they did see the obvious during the in-home estimate). Sent a 2nd guy out to see the damage. I thought we had an agreement that they would fix the window and it would be the company's expense. Instead, they revised the estimate to $3000. I have 2 broken windows and no resolution. The estimate and work was done quickly, scheduling was clear and communication was given even when had to move the repair back a day. The person who came out to give the estimate took the time to explain the process. When the repair man came out to do the work, it was completed fast and done well. They even helped me by bringing a shopvac to help me clean up the shattered glass in my backyard. Paying was an easy process that had me put down half before the work and then paid the rest when the work was done. Everyone I interacted with at this company was professional and pleasant to talk to.

Doug from American Screen & Glass replaced the glass in my sliding door. He was professional, worked quickly, and did a great job. He explained what he did and gave me some maintenance pointers as well. Changing the glass vs replacing the sliding door was a substantial savings.

Happy with the job. Several crews came to do measurements, installation and repairs. Every crew was very professional, always on-time, and friendly. The job was good, and the prices were fair.

They were able to courteously help me over the phone to identify the facts of my job (which I had wrong), determine that I needed a standard insert for replacement, and they came out and got the job done with no problems, in only 48 hours. I spent about 10 days before that trying to contact other companies and having no success, so I was glad for this high quality service.

Poor work product and apathetic customer service. Would not hire again. Less than 18 months after installation of our $1,600 seamless glass shower door (in our brand new bathroom) debris and dirt started to collect underneath the silicone along the seams. It's impossible to clean without removing/replacing the silicone. When American Screen & Glass sent someone out to look at it the person who came out said that the installer probably ran out of the normal silicone they use and used something else and it would all need to be replaced. Then AS&G sent me an estimate for $265 for it to be fixed. When I mentioned the fact that they were charging me to correct a mistake they made for a product that should last much longer than 18 months I received no response. I have no confidence in AS&G to provide quality product so I will be using one of their competitors.

I got the estimate promptly via email, with prices as described, and the technician actually took the screens with him immediately. He also switched the windows for me without charge before he left from his visit to do the estimate. The screens were all done on time and installed without problems.

American Screen & Glass took our broken jamb liner and searched their old parts inventory. They found an intact piece (maybe the last one anywhere!), and repaired our jamb liner in their office, all in time for us to reinstall it before the rains came. We had used American Screen & Glass years ago to replace transom windows -- good service at a fair price. This time they saved our bacon -- and did it for free!

the estimator came 2 hours after his window. The installers were good, but there was a very small leak. They were very prompt in coming back out and fixing it.

Wonderfully. Even when there were hiccups in the process (the glass manufacturer forgot to attach the door handle), the company made good right away. The company looked for solutions to our shower needs to help us get exactly what we needed.

Really well once they actually came for an estimate. I took 2 different days off from work waiting for the estimators. The first time they cancelled mid morning of the day they were supposed to come. The second time it was a morning window that they missed but promised me they would be there in the afternoon-- and didn't show. Third time was. Charm and the days they were scheduled to do the work went like clockwork. If you can be patient for the estimate, the work itself was well done and reasonable.

They were on time and very effluent. In and out within 15 minutes.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL NOT BE SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Poor quality screens, you get what you pay for (they were the lowest priced of 3 companies we got estimates from). The screens don't come out easily (or at all), and one of the sliding doors didn't latch well starting on day one. We should have had them come back to fix it, but we never did and now after one year the door doesn't latch at all. Now bugs can get in so the screen door is useless. (We paid $225 for this screen door). When I called to inquire about their warranty (it says on the website "warranty on products and services"), they were very rude and defensive. Rather than apologizing for their inferior work, I got a lecture on how they don't have any warranty and if they did it wouldn't be for more than a year (as if I was stupid to ask such a question). I didn't expect them to fix the problem for free after over 1 year, but their rudeness to my inquiry was inexcusable and at this point I don't even want to give them more money to remedy their poor workmanship. I will call someone else who appreciates their customer's business and stands behind their work.

It's been more than three weeks without a written preliminary estimate for a new frameless glass shower despite multiple phone calls and emails with the main office. The preliminary estimate is based on pictures and customer measurements which were provided in detail twice. I was told it was escalated to a supervisor and would receive same day but that was over a week and a half ago. I speculate there are some internal communication or operation issues (e.g. not enough estimators) that are creating this service gap. ASC lost our business as a result. We decided to go with another local competitor who has been punctual and professional in their 24-48 hour turnaround on all communications and estimates.

Technician came and measured. Quote was emailed. I accepted the offer and put down a deposit. Within 2 weeks they came back and replaced the window. No problems.

I had a small opening -- 40". They worked with me to maximize the opening I would have for a new sliding glass door.

The installers were professional and kept things cleaned up. Very satisfied.

Great - on time and at a reasonable cost

First, they sent out an inspector to give an estimate. He was prompt, courteous and respectful. He explained what was done, what was installed, and what the builder originally did. We had several people come out, and he was the only one that really knew his stuff. He was professional, educational, and courteous. He gave good advice and we decided to work with him. When the order came in, they sent out the Techs. For the installation, the were very very clean, courteous, and respectful. They got the work done quickly and professionally.

Service was timely, price was fair, and screens look great!

They do excellent work. Will order replacement window screens from them as they will do a custom fit re-build.

They were supposed to call me 30 minutes prior to coming out for an estimate between 10a - 1pm. It's now 2:30pm and they still haven't called. Not so much as even a phone call to say they're running late. They just never showed up. I'll never use them.
