In every instance they arrived a bit early (earlier than agreed to). As a retired widower living alone, I retire late and get up late! At the first visit, they broke a tool and had to reschedule a further visit when they had a replacement tool. The workmen seemed highly competent otherwise and were courteous.

Scheduling the installation with the company was a little frustrating for job #2. The company sent 2 employees each time, and they arrived at the expected time. Both jobs involved removing an old small window (aluminum, of the sliding type) and installing a new vinyl insulated glass sliding window. The workers appeared to know what they were doing, and worked efficiently. The windows look nice. My only small complaint was that there was a visible mess (i.e. dirt) to clean up after the second job. Although they carry a little dustpan to clean up as they go along, the debris was (accidentally) dumped on the counter and floor. Did they notice? - yes. Did they bother to sweep it up? - no. I didn't notice a mess after the first job, but it would not have been apparent given the carpet in that area.

Not only did they perform the service quickly (3 days), but they replaced the regular screen with "rip proof" screen upgrade without additional cost. Outstanding service/quality. Heartily recommended!

They gave me a good price and I got other estimates.

We discovered one of our front door sidelite window panels shattered this week after hearing a strange 'pop' sound. Fortunately it was the interior panel of the double pane window, which cracked but stayed intact. We used Angie's list to locate a repair contact and called on Wednesday afternoon, and accepted an appointment for Friday 11-2 for a measurement and estimate. On Friday, Shawn, arrived right on time. Although, not a talkative guy, he did offer some possible explanations of why the glass "just popped & shattered" --once we asked. Shawn provided an excellent explanation of how they would fix the sidelite, and the timeline should it not be in stock (but he thought it probably was readily available). He also provided a verbal estimate, including the Angie's "coupon" discount. We provided our email address for him to send us the written estimate, although we didn't receive that email. Later on Friday, we received a voice message from their office, stating the sidelite was in stock and they could install the next day, Saturday. The office person, Debbie, was very pleasant and set up the install sometime between 11 and 1. Saturday, the two installers arrived well before 11, and as Shawn had stated, it was only about a 15 minute task. The installers were very polite, and thoroughly cleaned not only the new sidelite glass, but the flooring and surrounding area. The estimate did not include the sales tax, but otherwise the invoice matched the estimate and included the discount. After they left, we both agreed that this was one of the least stressful home repairs we have experienced in 34 years! Thank you!

The technician worked efficiently and totally took apart my door, fixed it and put it back together. I thought I might have to replace the whole door, so he saved me a lot of money!

The glass was scheduled for delivery on a day that turned out to be very rainy and windy. No complaints from John, who had to walk four large pieces of glass into the building, wipe everything down, clean them and place them on the tables. He left everything perfectly. Two pieces were to be cut on site, but with the weather so bad and with no one to assist him, he asked if he could take a template and cut the tabletop glass at the shop. I agreed. They were delivered within the week -- right on time.

XXXThe provider did a good job overall. Although, it seemed to take a little while to get the windows in (it took a 2+ weeks to get the window in to install). There were a couple snafus in communication/follow-up related to install scheduling. Once we got the installation scheduled, they were prompt and the tech completed the work quickly and professionally. I gave them a lower rating on professionalism due to the coordination issues with their back-office staff (which were relatively minor overall).

American Screen and Glass was very professional from beginning to end. They called before they arrived, arrived on time (during the early part of the time frame they gave me), fitted my window with a temporary panel and two weeks later brought my repaired window back and installed it. It took a little longer than expected to get my window back because they were waiting on the factory, but it was only by a few days.

They were a pleasure to deal with. After I called them, they came within a couple of days to measure the windows, and then ordered the replacement windows. In about a week or so they came back to install the replacement windows, which look great from inside the house. My only quibble is they did not alert me in advance to the fact that the bottom outdoor molding now cannot be used and I will have to replace it, not much of a problem since it is an easy chore. Given the promptness with which they performed the work and my overall satisfaction with the job, I will use them again the next time I need them.. Update (11/10/2013): Having recently had work done in painting the house, I have learned that placing outdoor molding over the window glass cannot be done, and there is no way to hide the dirty white woodwork underneath the glass, which now stands out because the house has been given a new coat of paint. Thus, I am downgrading the quality of the work performed by American Glass from a B to a C.

They did a great job repairing our screen on our porch and one of our window screens. Would use them again and will recommend.

I received an estimate appointment for the day after my initial call. The estimator showed up within 1 and 1/2 hours of our 4 hour time window. He was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous and came back with another installer on the day of the repair. I was prepared to replace the sliding glass doors and frame for several thousand dollars but was told that I only needed replacement of the glass panels and lock for much, much less. He saved me a great deal of money. It is for this reason (honesty) that I will always use American Screen and Glass for my window and glass repair. In addition, I was given a repair appointment within 2 days of the estimate. The repair was done promptly and looked lovely. A++++

The company was professional, showed up on time, always responded to my calls/emails and handled everything very well and I would definitely use them in the future. They worked with my tenants and kept me in the loop throughout. My only issue was the cost. The cost of the window was about what I expected, maybe even a little less. But for the "balance pins", a part that if I researched correctly, costs around $25 online, they charged $70 a peice + labor to install (they really do require professional installation. small parts, but not easy to install) I dont have other professional estimates to compare that to, but I feel it's a bit excessive. Other than that, I was extremely pleased with them

It went very well. They came right out, they were punctual. They ordered the window and replaced while working with our realtor; they were very accommodating.

Estimate process was very good. Biggest problem was getting delivery of the windows. One took 3 months to be delivered and installed.

Chris knows windows and didn't even have to measure. Must have standard sizes. He was fast and gave a flat rate for the windows and door screen. I thought the price was high but decided to go ahead with the order because this is something custom made and you pay for that. I was not all too happy with the installer. He was trying to take the window apart when all you had to do was lift up the old screen and pop it out. I was surprised he did not see that. I had some questions about extra large window wells because the holes are big enough that a cicada bug could crawl in. He just blew it off and said it was a poorly designed window.

Priced the repair over the phone on my first call. The tech showed up promptly as scheduled. He removed the sash. Because it was part of a cheap builder-grade window, the sash was stapled together with a groove for the window glass instead of normally-found glazing/points. He had to take the window with him back to the shop. He returned a week later, and re-installed the sash. Looked okay and raised/lowered okay. Very pleased there wasn't an extra charge for having to make two trips.

American Screen and Glass was great. I tried to avoid replacing the entire window including the frame by having two different handymen come to fix the problem. Total waste of money. Fred came and looked at the window. He explained why it was leaking and how he intended to solve the problem. He was thorough and efficient. Obvious that he knew what he was talking about and I was extremely anxious to get this project done. Isaac who came out to actually remove the existing window was very professional. He explained the process of how he would complete the installation and that he would return to seal and finish the interior once we had some rain to test the integrity of the installation and to be sure the problem was fixed. After several rain storms I scheduled the window to be sealed. Isaac returned yesterday to complete the project. He called 30 min prior to arrival as requested. Excellent company to deal with: efficient, professional and honest.

American Screen and Glass came to give me an estimate for replacing a broken basement window. After seeing the window, the representative said that he could replace the glass and it would only be $170 instead of about $300 for the entire window. He had replacement glass in the truck and repaired the glass less than 15 minutes. I?m a very happy customer for getting the broken window immediately fixed for less money and not having to schedule another appointment.

They came out the day I called to take a look and to give me an estimate on the window repairs. I got the estimate by the end of the day. Once I needed to schedule, they were very accommodating and scheduled when I needed it to get done. The job was done quickly and correctly. I had used this company previously to replace a fogged window and to replace a screen. Excellent work. I would highly recommend them.

They showed up on time and did the work quite efficiently and cleanly. They even adjusted something they noticed on one of the windows while they were replacing the balances. I have 2-3 more that have since gone kaput so I'll call them back out. The only 'negative' might be the cost to have this done seems a bit high but that's based on parts alone. I guess if I was skilled enough to do it myself, I could save the service call for them to do it but I'm not so I'll have them come and do it :-)

The crew was prompt and professional. I had one minor problem with part of the window that did not match. They corrected the problem at no cost to me and the window looks great.

The estimator was prompt and professional. He quickly measured all three windows while discussing the process for having the new windows made and installed. He was in and out in about 15-20 minutes. I received the quote via email, which is what I asked for, within one day. We chose not to use this company simply due to the price, which was only about $60 more than the company we did go with (who was not necessarily the cheapest estimate we received).

The 2 gentlemen were polite, knowledgeable, prompt. They listened to the problems I was having, inspected the door and windows, quickly assessed the situation. I felt very confident that they were experienced and knew what to do. The work was finished very quickly and they left me with a great impression. I'll tell the neighbors about the terrific service that's for sure.

They measured the window on a Saturday, and sent the estimate on Monday. I approved the window to be replaced the same day- in which it was ordered (providing a 50% deposit). The company called a week later to schedule a time to install the window. Wanting to get it replaced asap, I was unable to be home during the first available day. I scheduled it anyways, leaving the service provider a key to the front door and informed him the dogs would be in a crate. When I arrived home that day, I had a beautiful new window. The company called later that day to receive the other portion of the payment over the phone (to my convenience). It was impeccable service!
