Description of Work: They came to replace a ceiling fan, but because of the location of the fan, the narrowness of the stairs leading up to my condo, and the height of the ceiling, they were unable to bring up a ladder of sufficient length that would allow them to make the replacement. Other electricians I contacted subsequently told me the same thing. They were very nice, professional, and tried to make it work until it was very obvious it would not work.

Description of Work: Had Absolute Electric perform an electric panel upgrade. I'll list the good and the bad for an easy read: | |The Good: |1. Shawn (the owner) was very nice, personable, knowledgeable, and very thorough in his initial estimate. Explained everything clearly and laid out the entire process for the job to set up proper expectations. |2. The two guys who showed up to do the actual work (forgot their names but the one who was the actual electrician doing the work is a former Marine) was very nice, knowledgeable, and did what I thought (though I am not an electrician) was good work. They showed up on time and stayed the entire day to get the job done all without even taking a lunch break. The job looked clean with the wires and box set up properly. |3. All the backoffice folks are very professional and courteous and did their very best to provide quick and professional support. | |The Bad: |1. There was apparently a miscommunication with Dominion VA power (which I don't fault Absolute for) but this caused a couple issues: a) I was without power for a couple days (when I should not have been without power at all after the initial power down for the panel replacement); b) this caused some last minute scrambling to get Dom VA power out and the county inspector out because of all the miscommunication; and c) this caused some inconvenience on me and my family as we had to work with this slip up to get someone at the house for the "work with" job with Dominion VA power to complete and also with the county inspector. |2. Turns out that some of the breakers that were installed in the box didn't even have wires connected to them nor was the labeling done 100% correctly. This was shown to me and proven to me by my contractor (e.g., panel label said "upstairs outlets", so we turned this off, and turns out the upstairs outlets still had power/electricity and discovered the "upstairs outlets" label actually connected to somewhere else in the house). This is my biggest gripe as I can deal with the delays and miscommunication within reason (especially since the backoffice folks worked so hard and did a great job to address and correct the issue) but not labeling the box correctly and leaving un-connected circuit breakers is not acceptable. *note: the labeling was not performed by the Marine who came to do the actual panel upgrade. | |So, in short - there were a couple missteps which I can forgive because the office folks handled them well but with the "higher than others" cost coupled with the wrong labeling and unconnected breakers, I'd rate Absolute average at a "C".

Description of Work: Absolute Electric Service Technician Jon Mekuto performed outstanding service on a list of electrical problems in my home. He called ahead to alert when he would arrive. My main problem was a blown wall receptacle that was affecting lighting in several areas of the home. He quickly repaired that fixture and restored the affected lighting areas. He next did troubleshooting on a laundry room ceiling light and replaced the wall-switch and recommended an updated model for the ceiling light to replace the 27 year old fixture. He replaced a defective exhaust ceiling fan in the Power Bathroom and also a defective GFCI device in this same Bathroom. Jon replaced two broken Pull Cord ceiling light fixtures (one in the Attic and one in the Basement storage area). The external home tasks involved replacing 4 wall lights (2 on the Front Porch and 2 above the Garage Doors. Jon also noted during an inspection of the Circuit Breaker Panel that some signs of arcing and heating were present. I agreed to have a new Surge Protection Device installed which he completed. Would recommend Absolute Electric for troubleshooting any electrical problems and Jon Mekuto is a courteous Service Technician.

Description of Work: Installed dedicated circuit, and whole house surge protector. The technician,Tim, was on time, knowledgeable and did a professional job. I couldn't have asked for better service. The job was completed in less time then anticipated, and I would recommend them to friends.
