+ 0 moreYou can't go wrong with Absolute Electric, they are absolutely the best! We were impressed with Darlene who answered our call and was very courteous and pleasant. We spoke with Cole who spent considerable time answering questions, providing his insight and even laying out a drawing of our kitchen under cabinet and above cabinet lighting project. We had the pleasure of having Rob and Kyle perform the electrical work. From the time they arrived wearing their "booties", to the time they left after sweeping and vacuuming our floors, they were very professional, knowledgeable, personable and respectful. The job was completed efficiently and without incident. They took the time to answer our questions, gave their advice and took the time to fully explain the job and how it would be done to comply with the building code. The end result was fantastic, we couldn't be happier with their work and our new lights. We will definitely use Absolute Electric for all our future projects. We will gladly recommend Absolute, and especially Rob, to anyone who needs any type of electrical work.

Addition of attic fan made the upstairs noticeably cooler during the hot summer months. Personnel at Absolute were very courteous and punctual. Attic fan was installed in our rental property across the street from out home. For a separate fee the installer inspected all of the ceiling fan installations in our residence home attic to ensure they were installed to code, since several people had installed the fans over time. Installer voluntarily put in a pull chain light in our attic as part of the minimum service charge for inspecting the ceiling fan installations.
Description of Work: Provided estimate and installed attic fan. Installation included the fan, parts, and labor.

+ -1 moreBeing relatively new to the area we did not have a regular electrician. We saw the reviews for Absolute Electric and called them. This was last Wednesday and there was a snowstorm affecting the area. My wife spoke to a manager at Absolute who initially set an appointment for the next day. When he took our address he realized that he had a technician in our area and dispatched him to our home . Rob the Service Technician and his assistant were very polite and professional, and figured out the issue with the wiring. They resolved the issue in about one hour. We were impressed with how quickly this company responded , especially in the poor weather conditions. We have other electrical work to be done in the future and will definitely call Absolute Electric again.
Description of Work: One of our circuit breakers kept tripping and taking out hallway lights and lights and receptacles in an upstairs bathroom.

+ 0 moreWe are very satisfied with the work performed at our home by Rob and his assistant and Absolute Electric LLC. All the problems we mentioned were fixed. In addition, Rob found and fixed additional issues that could have turned serious. Rob adhered to the prices he quoted. Any additional expenses were clearly detailed and explained. We have more work we'd like to do in the future for which Rob provided estimates. We will definitely use Absolute Electric LLC for that work and for any repairs that might pop up in between.
Description of Work: We called Absolute Electric LLC for a bulb that had broken off inside a porch light, a short in the under cabinet lighting and recessed ceiling lighting in our kitchen, and a short with the chandelier in our dining room. We also wanted estimates on installing additional ceiling fans in three bedrooms and recessed lighting in our living room. Absolute Electric sent Rob and his assistant. They removed and replaced the broken off bulb from the porch light and immediately discovered that the problem with the under cabinet lighting stemmed from an underpowered and improperly installed transformer. In addition they found that the kitchen did not have the necessary amount of GFIs to support all the appliances. The issue with the recessed kitchen ceiling lighting came from a faulty socket. In the dining room, Rob and his assistant found that the dimmer switch was old and no longer working properly. We also asked them to fix the ceiling fan chain that had broken in the master bedroom. Based on the poorly installed transformer and the missing GFIs in the kitchen, we decided to take Rob's advice to do a 36 point inspection of the house. Since Rob needed additional parts to perform the repairs above, this was done during a second visit. We are glad we went with the inspection as Rob found that our house was not properly grounded. He also advised us to have our sump pump connected to its own power source. Properly grounding our house, providing a separate power outlet for the sump pump, and fixing the ceiling fan necessitated a third visit, at which point all the work was completed. When fixing the master bedroom ceiling fan and connecting it to the wall switch, Rob discovered that the fan was not properly secured to the ceiling and could very easily have fallen down.

My problem although simple was not straightforward and required him to painstakingly figure out exactly what was causing the power outage to my bedroom, which he did. I appreciated the fact that he took the time to explain what was causing my problem and the steps he took to solve it. Joe was efficient and polite as was the women who initially took my call. Description of Work: Problem was power outage in upstairs bedroom. I thought it was a problem with a circuit breaker but as it turned out a socket in my bathroom had been installed incorrectly years ago and eventually caused the problem I was having.

They actually saved me money by identifying that rather than replace my 3 fans that were not working, but to repair the remotes. Fantastic, who does that? Absolute Does. I highly recommend them!

He is absolutely fantastic and very professional and knowledgeable. Today, Tim came to my house to look at a recessed light that wasn't working properly. Tim was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and as honest as they come. He could have sold me a new light, but I didn't need one He made a slight adjustment, and the light is now perfectly fine . And without me even asking, he changed the bulb on a nearby light that was burned out. Absolute Electric is a top notch company. Their prices are fair, their electricians are honest and knowledgeable, and they to a great job.

I called a heating company to fix the water heater and they told me the outlet had not been installed properly. Absolute Electric was responsive in coming back to fix the problem and they reimbursed the heating company charge that I paid.

+ -1 moreThis was my brother's experience with the repairman: "Despite being an hour and a half passed the appointment window, the electrician, Joe B. was apologetic and offered to only charge an hour for the work no matter how long it took him to complete the service call, which was about 2.5 hours. Joe was very professional and I was impress that he offered to remove his shoes before entering the premise. Joe B. found that the problem with the power to both rooms on the same wall was a broken wire in the receptacle. The wire was also frayed and needed to be replaced. He ended up changing 2 C/P receptacles in order to get the power back on. He also did a really good job of putting the furniture back in the proper place as well as cleaning up after the work was done. In addition, Joe went above and beyond by taking the vanity ceiling light cover outside to remove the dust before re-installing it. A little attention to the details goes a long way. I would recommend them."
Description of Work: The power to the TV room and dining room lost power in my mother's house. The two rooms shared the same wall. There was also no power to the overhead light in the TV either but the TV on the other side of the room did have power. We needed the power for that side of the room because that is where my mother's medical alert system is plugged into along with the phone line. I called Absolute on Christmas eve, not knowing if they were open or not. It was around 11AM when I called and a lovely lady answered the phone. She was pleasant and informed me that they would not be able to send anyone today but was able to schedule me for after Christmas that week. So I tentatively scheduled it on Wednesday, the day after Christmas. Since I was an Angie's List member and had a coupon, I was able to get a discounted hourly rate of $117 per hour. I notified my brother who was off that week so he could wait for the electrician but he was unable to make it on Wednesday and asked if I could change it to Thursday instead. By the time I spoke with call my brother and found out about the need for change, it was after 12 noon. I tried feverishly to call Absolute back but kept getting an automated system saying the line was busy and when it looked like I was about to be connected with someone, the call got dropped. Might be a problem with there phone system there or just a weird clink in the line. Anyway, I gave it a few more tries and just when I was about to give up, Eddie picked up the phone. He said the office closed at noon today but decided to come in to do some paperwork when the phone rang. He was very nice and offered to call me back when he is able to check the schedule. He did called me back and was able to schedule our service call for Thursday instead. Now my brother do not have to rush back from his Christmas trip with family to meet the repairman on Wednesday.

+ 2 moreAbsolute Electric did a great job, the men doing the work (Tim and Drew) were courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Everything that was installed or corrected was done with care in a timely manner even though during the schedule period the Sandy Hurricane occurred which impacted the ability to get parts. Shaun Collins the owner was always willing to work with us and was obviously interested in ensuring that the work was done well and that we were happy. I don't believe that Absolute Electric was the cheapest solution, and I might saved some money by going with a different firm, however I am very happy with results.
Description of Work: Absolute Electric installed a new 200 Amp Service power panel, a six (6) circuit transfer switch, a 220V outlet in the garage, two ceiling fans, moved all of the lighting fixtures in two bathrooms from the ceiling to the wall, replaced 12 outlets with GFI outlets, removed a 220V outlet for an electric stove, installed and additional outlet on the bathroom circuit, provided a power cable for the connection of the transfer switch to a portable generator, ran a cable to an outside outlet so that the portable generator could be hooked into the transfer switch and applied for the permit and scheduled the inspection.

I have contacted them again and again for installation of our new light fixtures, tv mounting/wiring, etc. They are very prompt and professional and the work is always done very neatly and clean...no major holes in the walls and ceilings! I will use them over and over again for my future electrical needs and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who wants anything electrical done in their house due to their experience and workmanship!

I saved a lot of money using my own parts. He offered to install a ceiling light for a very good price on a future visit. Overall I was very pleased and I'll use this company for all future electrical service. The $300 cost includes the parts I bought at Home Depot.
Description of Work: Replaced seven 2-prong outlets with grounded three-prong outlets. They also replaced a bathroom switch with a GFCI and upgraded wiring. They told me which parts to buy so I could use my own parts and save money.

Not always possible, but this time it worked. Technician Rob with associate and got the job done in short order with great courtesy and professionalism. I almost hate to be so glowing because I fear Shawn will be so overwhelmed with business, it'll be hard to keep up! Truth is -- they are Absolutely the best.

Rob came out during the specified time window and was quickly able to diagnose the problem as a faulty spotlight. He said the electrical system in the house was actually very hearty and just doing its job of not working when detecting that a faulty light was plugged in. + 0 moreWorking with Absolute Electric has been easy and a very positive experience from the first telephone contact through the waiting period for the delivery of the generator to installation, successful inspection, and final completion. The work was completed on 2/1/13. There was a wait for delivery of the generator but once it came in, Absolute Electric moved quickly and efficiently. We are very pleased with the work, the professionalism of their workmen, their communication, quality of work, and consideration for us as homeowners while they were engaging in such an extensive process. We really had absolutely no complaints. Even the County Inspector told us that it was a very good job. They answered questions very readily, interacted with ease, and walked us through the numerous steps of the installation, testing procedures, and two County inspections (gas line and final inspection on the whole job). This process involved coordination among electricians, gas line installer, the Gas Company, NoVec (electric company), and Fairfax County. We were truly impressed with how easy Absolute Electric made the whole thing for us. Rob, his assistants, the gas line installer hired by Absolute Electric, staff covering the telephone -- virtually everyone involved -- was easy to work with and inspired our confidence.
