This company was excellent to work with all along the way - estimate, scheduling, office staff with question/suggestions and the work. We needed our electrical panel replaced and some additional work done. Absolute handled every job expertly and professionally. They even took care of notifying/scheduling the Fairfax County inspector - who by the way said Absolute did an excellent job. The electrical panel involved some additional work which Absolute took care of beautifully. We also wanted a ceiling fan moved and installed and a ceiling light installed. They left the house clean but more than that they left us with a feeling of confidence that the job was done correctly. Absolute is absolutely the best!!

It went great. They were to arrive between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and call about 30 minutes ahead of arrival. They called to let me know they would arrive around 7:30 a.m. Two gentlemen worked on the job and it was done in just under two hours. They answered my questions and explained how the fan would work and what the warranty included. They wore coverings over their shoes and cleaned up nicely when finished with the installation. I would definitely hire them again.

Absolute Electric called before the appointment, showed up on time and professionally replaced the attic fans.

I emailed Absolute Electric about a repair on Friday evening and had a callback from the owner, Shaun, first thing on Saturday morning. He told me the approach (time/material) he'd recommend, and that he'd send out a very able electrician first thing Monday morning. Had the most courteous and professional service from Tim Darren and his assistant with on time arrival and clear explanations of "what and why." Tim recommended also installing a whole house surge protector ($400 installed), and since I've read and heard about the advisability before -- and since I had the time -- we went with it. He explained all I needed to know about guarantees, and did all the adjustment work necessary at the main box to accommodate the new part. I was very pleased with my experience with Absolute Electric.

Juan was fantastic. He put in a new wire from our breaker box to our dryer with hardly noticeable drywall upset. He was going to put in a fan we had bought but advised it wouldn't be up to code and suggested we get a smaller profile fan so it didn't hit us in the noggin. He installed a timer switch in garage perfectly and also suggested some motion lights for outside if we wanted more light. Will certainly be using them again.

We needed somebody last minute and they did a good job. They put in two outlets. It took them about 2 hours to finish the job. They did a fine job.

I updated the review on 4/1 to reflect my all-in experience with the company, after what had been a less than acceptable experience turned to a great experience. The first technician surprised both me and the company in his lack of interest in finding a fix or solution for a highly complicated task of tracing out wiring on two levels for 12 lights. I appreciated that the company did not get defensive or provide bad excuses -- they saw the service issue, owned it, and resolved it. In resolving it, the company's master electrician came out and tackled the troubleshooting job with interest, energy, and focus. He took the time to explain the nature of the wiring and the complexities of the work. I was very grateful for his commitment to the job. I have more to say of his commitment, though. He stepped into my shoes as a homeowner and treated my house and electrical issue like it was his own. That meant spending time over two days to diagnose the issue (a cut wire) and then to give me practical solutions for remedying the issue. He gave me choices as approach and laid out the pro's and cons: A higher-cost, higher-mess solution (involving cutting drywall) and a lower-cost, lower mess solution (running wire through a different route). He empowered me to make decisions that I could understand. He also identified other items that could be addressed -- wiring up replacement outdoor fans that had seen better days. While I said in my earlier review that I needed to find an alternative company for electrical work, Absolute Electric has earned my continued work with them on the original project and an additional one.

Pipe burst in kitchen which flooded the electrical room below it in the basement. I called at 6:30 pm, after hours and was immediately connected with the on call electrician who stated he would arrive in 45 minutes. A few minutes later, Shaun, the owner called and said that due to the dangerous situation in our house he would come because he was closer. He arrived in about 20 minutes, inspected the panel and determined that due to water in panel, it was necessary to turn off the power. He pulled the meter from the back of the house and notified the power company. He also identified hazards in a subpanel that had been recently installed by another contractor. He provided a detailed estimate for cost of a new panel with necessary county permit. We signed the contract the next morning. And the following day work began to restore power to our house. (Sep review) Shaun and Absolute provided our family with caring, professional service in a difficult situation. A+ Highly recommended.

I had a superb experience with Absolute Electric from first contact until the job was done. Our home was built in the 1950's and we had an issue with one of our outlets overheating and causing the plugs to melt. The scheduler called me within five minutes of my email and scheduled me for next-day service. Jim, our electrician, arrived right on time and got straight to work. He fixed the first outlet within about ten minutes, so we asked him to replace several others and convert them to 3 prong. I couldn't be happier with the price, professionalism, and efficiency.

The professionalism and responsiveness of the front office was great. They came out to do the work within just a few days of calling them. The quality of the work was good and the technician was pleasant. My only issue was that the technician showed up at my house and sat outside for 5 minutes while filling out paperwork, then worked for 1 hour and 13 minutes, then took 20 minutes to write up the invoice, and charged me for 1:45 instead of 1:15! He said that his supervisor told him that filing out paperwork is chargeable labor time. 20 minutes is a really long time to fill out a one-page invoice with 7 items on it. This is a not only an issue of professionalism, but it is a borderline ethical issue. From the customer's perspective, the invoice write-up shouldn't take more than 5 minutes and if it takes you a couple minutes into the next labor increment (in this case 15 minutes), you shouldn't charge the customer for that increment. We are paying you to do work. Time to write the invoice and file paperwork should be on your own time. Having said that, the rest of the experience was good. I wasn't sure whether I would hire them again. Quality and responsiveness is good, but at the end of the day if you feel like someone sat in their van on purpose just to get a couple minutes into the next labor increment so he could charge you an extra $30 to $60, that will cause me to pause before hiring them again. Update 3/27/15: After speaking with their customer service department, they offered to reduce the service charge to 1 hour. I find that their response was openly fair and reasonable. Based on this update, I have increased their overall, price, and professionalism scores.

After seeing our lights flicker for a few days, we noticed one morning that our breaker box was actually smoking. The weather had been terrible and the technicians were all busy but after describing our situation, Shauwn came out himself. He got us on the books for a few days out, and helped us to coordinate the logistics. Our situation deteriorated quickly, and by later in the day, there were wires that were burning and we had to shut our power off. Shauwn was able to squeeze us in the next day so that my husband and I only had to take out infant son to a hotel for one night. The work was done quickly and cleanly, with minimal damage to our drywall despite a new groundwire and larger box than we'd had previously. Absolute Electric are our new electricians.

juan was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, thorough and courteous. he worked as fast as possible, knowing that I was paying by the hour . . . and he made sure that I understood the limitations/advantages of the particular product he installed. I highly recommend absolute electric for its service; and particularly, juan, for the quality he delivered in such a professional manner.

Lewis arrived in time and prepared ! He was careful, professional, skilled and fast. He meticulously cleaned up after himself and did a great job of going over my design options and considerations. I'm so happy with this company's work.

Robert the technician called prior to his arrival. He arrived on time. Advised me of what steps he would take. I was able to watch him work. He carefully cut the ceiling around the frame of the existing bath fan to ensure there would be little if no damage to the ceiling. He carefully removed the existing bath fan (which was at least 30 years old - installed when house was built). He installed the new bath fan. Checked to ensure that the bath fan worked properly. He cleaned up after himself. I was really happy with the work. I have had prior work performed by Absolute Electric LLC. Highly recommend!!

GREAT service. I signed up for a Big Deal to replace my AC power panel. The company immediately placed me on their work schedule, and we agreed on the date for the company to come to my home to perform the work. A couple of days before they came to do the work, the company sent Charles to survey the work area and to determine what was needed to complete the work. Juan and Ryan arrived on time and immediately began work. They took care to protect the carpet and other areas from any damage. They estimated the time that they would finish their work. I returned about the finish time, and they were in the process of completing the work. They cleaned the area and left it in good condition. I was totally impressed with the experience I had with Absolute Electric. From working with Cole on the phone to answer my questions and schedule the work to having the power panel installed went without any issues. All installations should go the way Absolute Electric worked. Thank you Absolute.

We called because our remote controlled ceiling fan stopped working. (the fan was functioning, but the lights were not) When we called, we were advised to secure a replacement part for the fan...which we did. The electrician arrived on time, having phoned us to tell he was on the way. When he arrived, he looked at the fan, and told us the problem could be one of several issues. He isolated the problem, the remote control receiver was burned out. Unfortunately, the replacement part we purchased would not fit. (even though Home Depot had told us it was the correct part). Instead of giving up there, the electrician Juan M., told us he could remove the part, allowing the fan and light to function...without the remote. We agreed, and he completed the job. Also, as Juan was working on the fan...and later the outlet...he explained everything he was doing. He asked if we had any questions, or concerns, and was very open about his work. The service call was for one hour. Since Juan completed the work before the hour was up, he asked if there was anything else he could do for us. We had an outlet in the basement that wasn't sitting flush, so he went down, and fixed the problem. He also discovered the outlet, which was a GFI, was not wired properly, so he fixed that as well. Needless to say, we were very pleased with Juan's work. He was very professional, friendly and open to questions. From making the appointment, to getting service, Absolute Electric was fantastic! We would recommend them, and we will use them again!

On time, performed service as requested, professional and courteous, cleaned up afterwards and the price was as quoted. I will use again!

Great! Tim arrived on-time, performed the work quickly and very well. I had an idea of the specific work which I wanted him to do in preparation for the siding installers to install the new lights, but Tim recommended a slightly different approach which was just as good (or better), took less work, and did not require materials which my idea would have required. So he did a great job, saved me some on the costs - what more can you ask! This is the third time I've used Absolute Electric, I've always had Tim perform the work, it's always been done very well and at a reasonable price, and in the future I will definitely keep using them!

I was pleased with office's professionalism in scheduling the appointment and providing the estimate. On the date of the install, the technician (Omar) came out with a helper, who likely wasn't adequately qualified. While accessing the attic, the helper stepped on the baseboard and fell through the ceiling. Fortunately, he wasn't hurt, but we had a big hole in the ceiling with insulation flying all over the house. I do understand that accidents happen, but the true mettle of the company lies in how promptly they correct them. I had Omar replace the ceiling drywall. He also went ahead and installed the chandelier. What would have been a 2-3 hour job, took him 6+ hours, and the hole still wasn't finished up. Omar then told me that he will be back after 4 days to finish the job and restore the ceiling. However, on the 4th day, I had to follow up 2-3 times. He finally showed up very late in the day without any tools - so he rescheduled for the next day. There was a snowstorm the next day and he finally showed up the following week to finish. Even then, he didn't get the right paint, and painted with another color, causing me to finally give up and finish the job myself. The installation of the chandelier was satisfactory, but I was disappointed with the overall experience, and will have a hard time trusting the company with other jobs.

Omar was wonderful! Very neat and helpful with my questions and problems. Work was performed promptly and price was reasonable.

As before, we were able to quickly schedule an appointment. Timothy Berkley came to our apartment again. He was on time and professional. We need the foyer switch to be split so that it would control two outlets separately and the same in the bedroom. Tim was able to complete the work in a timely manner. This is our second time using Absolute Electric and we would use them again.

Tim arrived on time. He had to work in the garage and it was a very cold day but he did not once complain. He installed whole house surge protection--two units.

Great. Work was performed very professionally. The electrician (Tim) explained what he was going to do, and afterwards showed me what he had done and showed me how to open the covers for the outdoor GFI outlets and how to tell that they are properly operating. Cleaned up after the job. Very good quality work. I plan to use them again.

Fantastic. Job was done very professionally. The main electrician (Tim) and his assistant (also Tim) arrived on-time and went to work immediately. Since this involved the power being off in the house during the majority of the work, and it was in the 40s, they made sure they got the work done as quickly as possible but without sacrificing quality. They got the work done quickly, got the power back on, then checked the circuits to properly label the breakers. What they had to start with was a mess - in the 1980s or 1990s VEPCO had a program in which a microcomputer was installed to measure the peak usage (Kilowatts) being used by a customer, and at peak usage hours they microcomputer cut off circuits (e.g., heat, air conditioner, dryer, hot water, etc) by means of microcomputer-controlled relays, so that VEPCO's peak load was kept below their limits. As a result, the customer got some savings on their bill. What all this means is there were 8 circuits originally run from the breakers to these microcomputer-controlled relays, then on to the actual circuits (heaters, AC, dryer, etc). Since then, the plan has been discontinued, but the wiring remained except for several circuits which were rerun when a new heat-pump was installed. So the bottom line is the electrician had a spaghetti-mess of confusing circuits and wiring to begin with, including circuits which went nowhere, circuits which didn't connect to any power. He worked through all this, and still got the rewiring done in a reasonable amount of time. Very impressed with all he had to figure out and accomplish! So, the last piece is the Fairfax County inspection, which Absolute guarantees will pass, or they will fix it. Not only did it pass, but the Fairfax County inspector commented on the quality and neatness of the wiring - he indicated that rewired breaker panels often look like a mess, but this one was very high quality. I believe that is a strong indication of the quality of work that Absolute does! PS - I am planning them back in a few weeks for additional work!

Luis arrived punctually. He was ready to do the job. He knew ahead of time why he was there and we went straight away to the living area. He measured the ceiling in order to find the center where I had asked the chandelier to be hung. I was concerned about drywall damage because I did not have a pre-wired area for the chandelier to hang from. I did have recessed lights in the ceiling. The electrician, Luis, told me that there was probably a 70 percent chance that he could do the job without having to cut the drywall other than the area where the chandelier was to hang. Upon further inspection as he went on with the job he was able to tell me that he would not need to make any other cuts other than where the chandelier was to hang. He did that cutting carefully in the ceiling, and the cap of the chandelier covers everything nicely so you would never know that the fixture was an after thought to the room, rather than being on the original electrical-lighting plan. He hung the fixture so that it is level and put in the bulbs. He did supply a couple of materials that my chandelier did not come with and the costs of those were minimal. He tested that the fixture worked. The light looks great. The company explained ahead of the tech's arrival how the job is priced so there were no surprises and called almost immediately after the job was completed to check on my level of satisfaction. I was very happy with the experience and have been recommending Absolute Electric by word of mouth to my friends.
