Home Warranty company assigned McCoys for an AC issue I was having. They showed up on 8/22 and diagnosed the issue and collected the deductible from me. He told me he would be back by 8/25 to install a thermostat to fix my issue. Never heard from him that week...after multiple texts to him and to the Home warranty company, he finally said he would be there on 9/1 so I took the day off work, waited all day and he was a no show. Again after multiple calls, he was scheduled to come out on 9/8....again NO SHOW. This guy doesn't even have the decency to call or text to say he can't make it. Just a no show for 3 weeks in a row. I finally convinced the Home Warranty company to send someone else out. DO NOT USE THIS GUY! He does not value anyone else's time! I paid him for a service and never got the work performed!

Very amasing to me as a business owner to read this kind off a nonsense review. In my professional opinion you are very uneducated on the warranty company policies.Read the fine print ! We always make thing right for the consumer apologize that as a homeowner your responsibilities are minimal. You should keep it that way before writing untrue facts..

Buyer beware, this company made 5 appointments to fix our heat over a 2 week period and cancelled 3 of them. They never were able to complete the repair and diagnosed things that were not broken. Ended up calling Bowman's and the technician figured out what was wrong in less than 20 minutes and repair was completed in under an hour. This company is really a sham.
Description of Work: Heat pump stop working during the blizzard. Restored the heat but thought it would not last. Claimed an electrical problem. Sure enough it worked for a few hours and stopped

Was curious why that as a consumer you never asked for the owner??? To rectify the situation that was encountered we try in a harsh environment to please many yet so few are even grateful. Disappointing again to read negative reviews in order to damage a business and credibility without sharing with the company that supposelly acted this out??? Far from the truth more lies.

Nate from McCoy's came out as part of our home warranty when we called in a claim on our very old boiler for our radiator heat. He came out on Halloween evening, driving from Winchester to Arlington to look at the unit. It had a crack in the holding tank for the water that gets heated for the radiators and recommended a replacement at first. He then realized there was a leak treatment that might work. He came out a second time and tried the leak treatment, which did not work on our system, which was about 70 years old. Nate reported our unit as unrepairable to the warranty company and worked to get a quote on how much it would cost for him to replace it. While we were in communication, it was getting colder outside and Nate was busy (great companies are popular!). We ended up going with another company because we couldn't get our schedules to match, but Nate's quote was the lowest and was what he wanted to do was comparable with the other companies. If you live inside the Beltway, the distance may be too much to overcome when this industry is busy. I was totally pleased with the work that was done, would recommend this company to anyone a bit further out.
Description of Work: Inspected our boiler for our radiator system as part of our home warranty.

I contacted our home warranty service (HWS); I deliberately called during a warm spell - 68 F - to hopefully avoid the it's-ten-degrees-and-our-heat-just-died crowd. I called the HWS on Mon, 12/15, and he was to call me NLT Tues with a time to come out NLT Wed. He called Tues to say he'd call me first thing Fri a.m. to let me know what time Fri to expect him. I waited till 2:30 on Friday and left him messages. He called back late that day to say he'd be there on Monday at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30 on Monday, I called him. He said he'd be here NLT 11:30. At noon, I called the HWS, who apparently got him on the other line, so he said he'd arrive within ten minutes. He finally arrived at 1 pm. I explained the three issues we had: Upstairs heat pump runs continually but it doesn't seem to get warm; main floor thermostat is missing parts so we can't tell how well it works; downstairs baseboard heat is not regulating consistently. He did eventually agree to at least look at them. He discovered a heat pump switch that apparently keeps switching itself off, so he reset it but didn't know why it switched off to begin with. He said he'd replace the main floor thermostat and would order new dials for the basement heat system, but let me know that he'd have to generate at least four phone calls to take care of this. I paid him the $60 deductible (HWS pre-set fee) and he was to get parts and get back with me in a few days to finish the work. That was 12/22. He called once during the holiday to tell me it was too cold to work on the heater. On 1/8/09, I called to find out when he might be able to finish the job. At 10:30, he called to let me know that he couldn't afford to extend credit to me and to the HWS by doing work before it was paid for. I told him I'd talk to the the company because I didn't want him to be treated poorly. I called the HWS to ask if they were having trouble paying workers. They told me that they had contacted him on 12/28 re the work and he had assured them it would be completed by 1/2/09. (I was later told by the HWS that he had been paid for the full job, per his estimate.) While I had the HWS on the phone, they talked to Mr. McCoy and got his assurance that he would come out later that same afternoon to finish my heating job. He then called me to say he would come the next day (Fri) and would call first thing to set a time to finish. I waited all day 1/9 (Friday) until 4:45 when he called to say he'd gotten the part and would come on Monday. I told him I would not be available, could he please come that day (Fri) since he had told the HWS it would be finally finished by Thursday? He pointed out that it was almost 5:00 so he couldn't come out. I made 11 calls, sacrificed several days to be here for appointments, and in almost a month never got past the estimate stage. I asked for a new company because I didn't think it was working out and he said that was best because he couldn't extend credit.
Description of Work: Troubleshoot heat pump to determine why the fan runs 24/7; also, look at baseboard heat system in lower level because it doesn't regulate consistently.

Miss Bently forgot to mention that we parked in her driveway for over one hour after hours free of charge and because she missed the appointment and it was snowing while she picked up her children she did not have enough courtesy to let us know that she was not available horrible excuse in order to blame us for not covering bases correctly.as a homeowner not able to afford to call ahead and have a maintenance contract or checkup!! Let's wait until it breaks with six inches of snow on the ground and then call ... Lack of responsibility besides that baseboard heat is very different from a heat pump system they do have many books at the library for help on this topic should check into them great reading material.
