Our visit to the store, went well. They had a large showroom dedicated to appliances. The staff were professional and knew the products. We had already researched and chosen the various appliances we wanted. Their prices were in line with the big store prices (where both had the items we needed). We paid a partial payment upon placing the order and the balance after the appliances were installed. They were able to schedule the installation as soon as our new cabinets were installed. Also, the day they installed all the appliances everything was chaotic - the cabinet people came late so there were a lot of people trying to work in a limited space - the S and W guys were very cooperative and took it all in stride. They were courteous and professional from beginning to end.We will refer others to them at any opportunity. They sell and service many of the major brands and were not limited in what they could supply us. Their installation staff came fully prepared with all they needed to do the total installation. Wanting to buy locally, we bought a Maytag over the range microwave from Sand W and had them install it. So far, so good. When my husband defrosted a hamburger, he noticed it took a little longer than with our old microwave. When I put in an individual serving bag of microwave popcorn, it only popped half full. Tried another bag using popcorn function button, and after 3 minutes, same result as the first. After reading instruction booklet, I performed the test recommended--one cup of cold water from the tap should boil in 2 minutes--and the water was hot but not close to boiling (and we don't have very cold tap water, either). Sand W came the next day to test microwave. When they hooked it to a machine to measure the power it was drawing, they said it was functioning correctly. When I demonstrated the popcorn, the owner got nasty and said they've sold a lot of these microwaves and it wasn't his problem if it couldn't "pop a cheap bag of popcorn." When he saw that the microwave failed the manufacturer's water boiling test, he repeated that it was working properly. When I asked what we could do to solve the problem, he said he couldn't keep bringing out microwaves and installing them (as though this was the 2nd or third they tried instead of the first). They took the microwave back as we asked, and left in a huff. When we returned the rack we/they forgot to the store that afternoon and talked to the joint owner, we got the same smirky response. We went on to buy a microwave at Lowes which was installed 3 days later by a polite and efficient man. This Sanyo microwave pops popcorn and boils water great! As an after note, we spoke with a friend who bought a Maytag from Sand W two years ago that also didn't pop microwave popcorn. His solution was to add a $60 microwave to his household.

I like that they sort of make an appointment, they say they will be here in two-hour window and they are. I am pretty happy with performance.

They offer that small town service that you don't fine anymore. It's a family run business. If I have a problem with an appliance, they come out the same day. They are very trustworthy people, and I wouldn't do business with anyone else. I would give them an A+ for everything.
