They were very honest and knowledgeable. They completely identified the problem and installed a new air conditioner and furnace at a very reasonable rate.

Had a brand new AC unit installed by another company 5 years ago. I have been having issues for the last 2 but did not want to go back to the original company for cost savings. As it turns out, the part giving me issues was due to the improper installation of the unit. Thank goodness the unit was still under warranty for another month. Neal promptly called and got me the replacement part for free with NO HASSLES directly from the manufacturer. (this would have cost me around $2500 with labor)!! I would highly recommend this company. Neal and his crew were polite and courteous, VERY HONEST and trustworthy. My job even came in under the quote he provided me so I saved a ton of money by going to him. When I need additional service or need to purchase a new unit - he will be the person I call!!

Mr. Hunsberger (Neil) and his assistant, Mike, made a service call on Friday, March 8, 2013. They inspected my heating/air conditioning unit to search for causes for the recurring "freezing up" of the unit;, i.e.; actual ice forming on the indoor unit and a complete shutdown of the heating system. When I called Mr. Hunsberger, he explained to me that he thought the problem might have been the result of the reversing valve failure to operate properly. As luck (or fate) may have it, everything was working properly when he came to inspect it. He explained to me that that it may or may not happen again, that I should keep a close watch on it each time I turn on the heat or air conditioning. Since the actual replacement of the reversing valve would be quite extensive (and expensive), he thought that I should watch it for awhile and if the problem persists, he will come back and look at it again before suggesting actual replacement of the valve. Since I only use the heat pump as a back-up to my outdoor wood furnace in the winter months, I only have to rely on it for heat when I am going to be out of town and unable to maintain the outdoor wood furnace. Since there was no need to repair or replace anything, he did not charge me for the service call. Mr. Hunsberger was very professional and thorough when explaining the problem to me. I was very pleased with his courteous and professional manner. I will definitely call him again when I have a problem and would recommend him to anyone who needs service to their heating/air conditioning unit. C. Hoskins

12 year old heat pump failed on/about May 24th and had two estimates for repairs - both in excess of $2500. I received estimates for a replacement system from 5 companies before deciding that Hunsberger Mechanical out of Stanley, VA would get my work. Neil Hunsberger, the owner came to my home on May 26 to provide an estimate for a replacement system. Neil's estimate was the most detailed of all the estimates I received listing complete model numbers, and duct work required to install the system correctly. Neil was very knowledgeable, asked a lot of good questions to insure I would get the type of system I was looking for which was the highest efficiency Hybrid unit Carrier currently makes. Hunsberger Mechanical's estimate was very competitive to other companies offering the same high efficiency unit. Since it was a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) , they could not get the system from the warehouse until Tuesday and thus scheduled a Wednesday installation date. Unfortunately, the the outside unit was damaged on delivery so the installation did not happen until Thursday, June 2, 2011. Neil offered to discount the installed price from the estimate for my trouble. The resulting installation appears very professional with the duct work joints sealed with mastic. The unit is operating well and is exceptionally quiet. Hunsberger Mechanical is a very professional small business company that offers a top product at a great price.
