Service provider was prompt, and did fix the problem. There was however a strong lack of professionalism, a significant mess made, and was frequently on his phone. It was $297 to snake a drain. With all the other options available, I wouldn't use them again.

This was a very tough job. The wood floor in the kitchen blocked the dishwasher from being removed, so the plumber had to cut the wood but he was very careful to only remove what he needed to remove in order to get the dishwasher out. Then, we ran into another problem with the elevation foot under the dishwasher as they would not budge. So the plumber had to cut the screws. Finally, he was able to remove the dishwasher and install the new dishwasher. He hooked it up and everything worked perfectly. It was a heck of a job due to the wood floor and the elevation screws, but I really thank the plumber for doing this.

I’ve gone to Falls Church Supply twice in the past month or so to buy plumbing parts and, much more importantly, get detailed advice on how to fix two things. First, a bathroom sink was leaking. Ricky Corwin of Falls Church Supply patiently explained how to remove and replaced the compression valve. A professional plumber also happened to be in the store, and he also explained how to do the work. He even went to his truck and brought back his tools and showed me which tools to use and how to hold them. I fixed the leak and noticed that the stopper was also broken. So I returned to Falls Church Supply yesterday to get parts and advice on how to replace the stopper and pop-up drain assembly. This time two people behind the counter – William Jenkins and Teddy Getahun – explained how to do this. What I really like is that the people here, while selling parts to professional plumbers, are very patient and in no way condescending when dealing with a novice like me.

We were pleased. She needed somebody to come right away and they came. She is a hard one please and she was pleased. They came really quickly.

We had an emergency failure of two sump pumps in our basement in the same night in June. We consulted Angie's List and went through several providers trying to find one available at 10pm on a Friday night. Shreve was able to handle the job. We were so incredibly lucky to have Tsegaye come to our house that night. We discovered that Tsegaye is basically an expert in plumbing and one of the nicest people we have ever met. He replaced our sump pump that night, better than anyone who has ever done it before (and we've had many service providers work on our plumbing in the past) and we booked for him to come out and replace the other sump pump and our battery back up system the following week. He was able to fix some key issues with the structural set up of the sump pumps and battery back up and educate us on why certain changes were made and how to avoid issues in the future. He was truly talented and knew what he was talking about. It was because of him that we signed a maintenance contract to have him come out to inspect our plumbing twice per year. I hope Shreve knows how valuable Tsegaye is to their company. He is simply awesome. I rated As across the board except with price. I think their prices are high, but the value for the money in Tsegaye's work is top notch. I will pay more for Tsegaye's work because I know it will be done right. Sometimes service trumps cost, this was one of those times.

Fine - he unglogged it quickly

We have used them several times over the years for various plumbing issues, so I called them Monday morning about a kitchen sink that was backing up and draining slowly. I also told them about a part we wanted to have replaced on one of our bath/shower faucets. They arrived promptly within the scheduled time window, after a call to alert me they were on their way. The plumber said the charge for snaking the drain line for the kitchen sink would be $297. I asked if it would be the same price whether it took 15 minutes or 2 hours, and he confirmed it would be. He ended up needing about 25 minutes to get the sink draining properly. He then told me he had to go back to the shop to get the part for the faucet because he did not have it on his truck, but that he would talk with his supervisor about the charges because they and quot;generally give you a break if you're having them do more than one job on a single call.and quot; When he returned to install the part, he told me the supervisor told him he would have to charge the full $150 for the faucet because they and quot;don't do anything for under $150.and quot; The quality of the work was good as it always has been with Shreve-McGonegal, but I was disappointed that they would not give a break on the fee, even though they were only making one service call for both jobs. After the service call today, I reviewed records of past work we had performed by Shreve-McGonegal, and the cost of the work they did today was very high compared to the cost of that past work. While I will consider using them again in the future, I will certainly look around first because of the cost.

I tried to rinse something out in my kitchen sink, (before heading to church on Sunday morning) and the faucet chugged a few times, but nothing came out. I checked the basement and discovered I shower that I hadn't installed. Shreve-McGonagal had emergency service and an A rating on Angie's List, so I called. The emergency plumber on-call answered right away, and said he'd be over within an hour. He was a little later than he said (which is why I only gave a B for punctuality), but he was within an hour-and-a-half. He already knew what the problem was because we'd spoken on the phone, so he got right to work. He knew where to look (under the sink, not in the basement, where I was headed), and he found the problem immediately. It was a quick fix, and he explained that a big part of the problem was the design of the pull-out faucet. He also checked the basement just to be sure, because the water was coming through there. There was a Sunday emergency fee (which I expected. It seems plumbing emergencies never happen during the work-week), but there was an Angie's List coupon which helped. He also pointed out that my garbage disposal was very old and a bit cracked and likely to fail soon. He didn't put pressure on me, just gave me the opportunity. I will be replacing it. In my basement he complimented the work of another plumbing service that recently replaced a leaky faucet, and I respect that. I would definitely use them again. In fact, I will, for the disposal.

They arrived on time. They charged an outrageous price for a simple repair which I had done on another toilet for a fraction of the price by the same company in the past. They repaired the toilet in 20 minutes. Charged me $350.00. They were professional.

Tsegaye was thorough, responsive, professional. Very pleased with the repair he did.

Arrived on time. Investigated and quot;smelland quot; in our basement. I pointed out the sump pump had the smell...so he sealed it with a silicon seal. Hasn't smelled since.

I called at 12:37 on a Friday afternoon, they were at my house in an hour!!! someone had cancelled, how lucky was I? Two professional plumbers showed up, removed their shpes looked at both sinks and started to snake. At 47 feet, the snake got stuck several times and they had to cut into the pipe and approach from a different angle. They cleared the pipe, cleaned the area and were gone before 3 pm!! They showed me what was stuck and warned me about other things that will not go down the drain but may make it through the disposal. They communicated well, provided me with estimates based on the expected work (from a posted list). It was a great experience!! Thank you

They are good, I like them. I would highly recommend them. They are very professional. My electricians name is Brad. He is very knowledgeable, very friendly, very trustworthy, and is adorable. He is a guy in his late 20s and just very nice. We've had him do the whole electrical panel in our house earlier in the year.

They called to be sure I was here. Were neat and organized. Tried to minimize disruption of the household. I replaced this faucet 11 years ago. I had a feeling for the job. I'm too old now to climb around under a sink. They do this every day and were more efficient than I would have been on my own. They took out the old one with minimum frustration and then installed the new one. They took out a small shelf under the sink and then replaced it after they were trough. They were very neat. I was pleased with the work they did. Since this was the first plumber I've ever hired I was of course surprised at the cost. I was nice to be able to do my own work.

When I called to make an appointment, they company wouldn't give estimates over the phone., they stated that pricing was by the job. I had only a price for bringing the plumber out to the house. Plumber was to arrive between 1 and 5pm. He called around 3:30 and showed up soon after. The plumber was professional. He took about one hour to complete the work. I was very unhappy to pay $600.00 one hour's work , The price breakdown was $350 for the toilet and the rest for caulking a hose bid and inspecting for leaks. I would not use them again.

We had a great experience with this company. They respond fast, are punctual, responsible and don't try to overcharge for projects. They are also amazing with the warranty of their work, we fixed a bathroom with them and we had a small problem two months later, we called them back and they did the whole work again for free.

I was able to schedule the appointment the same week with a reasonable window for arrival. The plumbers were punctual, and called ahead to offer to arrive earlier than the appointment. They installed the faucet and soap dispenser without incident. They also clamped down my sink so water would not get between the counter and the sink. The sink should have been clamped down at the time of installation, but its been like that since I moved in and and other plumbers have said nothing about it. The estimated price was significantly higher than the retail price of the current big deal on Angie's list for professional plumbing, but they did give a $50 discount for Angie's List members which helped. I have not had any issues since installation and the work was punctual and professional.

When I called Shreve-McGonegal how much it would cost to snake my bathtub. I was told that they would not be able to give me a price until they came out and ascertained the problem. They told me there would be a $50 and quot;dispatch chargeand quot; in addition to the charge for the work. A $50 discount certificate was provided on Angie's List, basically nullifying the dispatch charge. When the plumber arrived, he was no sooner in the door that he opened a notebook and told me it would cost me $250 to snake my drain. Shreve-McGonegal charges by the job, he said. I have never paid that much before for snaking and I promptly told him to leave. I called Chandler's Plumbing, which I've used for years, and they told me they charge by time. The bill included a $10 fee for gas, which is reasonable given the price of gas. My entire bill came to $150 with a 10% discount. That was $100 less than I would have paid with Shreve-McGonegal. I'm sticking with Chandler's!

I received quotes from 2 other plumbers and these guys were not only the fairest, but Chuck knew what he was talking about even over the phone. I left a message on a Monday and received a call back from Chuck the very next day. The quote he provided based on the information I relayed to him was a range... if everything was easily accessible, then the job would be priced at the lower range. I appreciated his knowledge and willingness for me to provide the parts, so I scheduled the appointment for Friday of the same week. The plumber arrived within the scheduled 1 hour window and completed the job in ~ 1/2 an hour. I supplied the 12and quot; nipple and fittings. He also re-lit the pilot light in the hot water heater after turning back on the gas to the house. The plumber was friendly and cleaned up after completing the job, and since there was easy access to the existing pipes and fittings, he charged me at the lower end of the range that Chuck provided over the phone.

The contractor was very knowledgeable about both the garbage disposal and the toilet. The toilet in particular was a model from the early 2000's that was known for its 'over-engineered' and problematic valve, and he had the experience and know-how to replace it. He had a suitable replacement for the disposal on his truck on the first visit, and he snaked out the drain as part of the installation. He showed me the price list for all parts and services and charged accordingly - no and quot;zip code markupand quot; or mystery charges. I recommended Shreve-McGonegal to a friend and this same plumber showed up at her house. She was very satisfied with the services he provided.

Repeat--we did NOT use them.

We had a drain in our sink leak right before we went out of town. Tseygaye came over promptly at 8 AM the next day to fix it and fixed a drain in our guest bath as well. The drain actually works now! He also reworked our kitchen hoses so that the sink and disposal work better. He was excellent and did a great job of explaining everything! I would definitely recommend going with this company, they are awesome!

The service was wonderful. They were very professional, punctual, and called when they were on their way. They are expensive but they do a great job.
