Great work. Explained what they had to do and any possible issues/costs. Had to stay later than scheduled and was able to work it out to save additional service visit.

Excellent. The technician, Ty, was punctual and did a great job. He was very fast and absolutely professional. He found other items that really needed to be done to more effectively complete the repair - he pointed them out and did so without the usual fashion I have seen other service technicians use. And, after everything was done - the job was completed at less than the estimate.

We lost all water in our home at 11:00 pm on a Sunday night. I called and left message at a voice mail. I received a call back at 7:03 am. The plumber, Gary, was at the house at 8:00 am. He diagnosed a faulty valve, replaced it and left by 9:45 am. I am very grateful for the return of household plumbing. It was wonderful that Shreve and Sons were so responsive to our little emergency.

It was fantastic. We called 19 plumbers and only two had emergency plumbers available. The other company quoted me $700 for the same work(including a $200 "emergency fee")and then called a few hours before they were supposed to arrive saying they no longer had time to come. Shreve McGonegal showed up(impressive given that I couldn't get a single other plumber to the house that day)and had our pipes thawed in a little over 2 hours. He checked in the crawl space to make sure we didn't have any leaks and gave us some tips on things we could do to improve the plumbing in our house. I asked him if there was an emergency fee and he said no, since I had called before 3pm on Saturday. I was very pleased with the service. He was so friendly and polite even after spending all day handling frozen pipes at many houses. He arrived at our house around 7pm and left around 9pm-it had been a long day for him, so he deserves even more recognition for his positive attitude.

Very well. I called them the day before. They showed up right on time and called first. They gave me a ballpark estimate and it was right on the spot. The did warn me that until they really looked at the flange they wouldn't know how much work, but they where prefect. I have working bathrooms again, so I'm very happy. And the price worked out well too. (BTW, I supplied the toilet.)

One of the copper pipes to my kitchen sink froze and ruptured during this week's cold weather. Shreve repaired the ruptured pipe. Since the pipe was not exposed, they also had to cut into the back of a kitchen cabinet to locate the pipe. They did this very neatly, and made the hole in a fashion that could be covered up later. In general, the plumber was very neat about the whole job. I'm told by my insurance company that they received over 70 calls in the last day around my area for people with a similar problem, and so I was very happy that they were able to make an appointment for the same day. At least one other company prioritized their appointments in favor of prior customers, which would have ruled me out. Shreve also arrived early for the appointment. Given that the work was performed on a Sunday, I was charged their emergency rate (double the standard rate, I think) to get the work done, which was similar to all of the companies I called. Overall I would recommend them to others. The service agent was very clear about the work he was going to do, and made every effort to get the job done quickly and neatly.

After taking a shower I was unable to get the shower to stop dripping. It was impossible to turn the water off at the pipe so I had to live with the noise until the plumber could come. unfortunately this was over a holiday but they came quicker than I thought. They were able to repair the stem/seal even though the plumbing is over 30 years old.

Went very well. This was an emergency -- we had to shut off water to the house -- and they came when they said they would, same morning I called. The repairman was courteous, professional and efficient. I appreciated his estimating how long it would take so I could get out to an appointment and he tested the water elsewhere in the house to make sure everything came back on alright. I really liked that when I asked about another plumbing issue, he was forthright and said he was not a plumber but a heating/AC person who could fix pipes. They had sent him because he could come sooner. I wish he had discussed more the repair options. I might have asked for replacement of more of the plumbing rather than a patch, but what he did fixed the problem, cost less and saved me time, so it's probably what I would have settled on had we discussed it. I'm calling them again to fix another problem next week, when I'll have more time and they can send a plumber.

After experiencing a significant decrease in water pressure Monday morning, I called Shreve later that afternoon (after locating them on this listing) and described what happened. They scheduled something for first thing the following day and I was given a window of 8 am - 12 pm. I was called right at 8 am and the plumber showed up a short time later. He was very friendly and told me exactly what he was doing and looking for as he was fixing my shower. I ended up getting the shower head replaced just because he was there and the old shower head was not so great. I also asked him about my master bath as the mix of hot/cold water is not the best and he suggested that I could try to change the cartridge. He even called me up to watch him replace the cartridge so that if I ever needed to replace one again, I could do it myself (I'm a huge do-it-yourselfer and he could tell). I really appreciated the time he spent fixing the major things and the not so major things, he did not waste any time. I was very impressed with the service I received.

Very satisfied. Thankfully it was a quick fix on the shower, but the toilet was a bit more involved since he needed to remove it and re-set it. He fixed one of the chains on the other toilets (another simple fix), but we were told both should eventually be replaced. In his words, paraphrased, "You can spend $150 fixing a poorly made toilet, but it is better to just spend a bit more and get a new toilet. Otherwise you just have a fixed, yet still poorly designed toilet." We will use them again when we decide to replace them. FYI: They charge based on time and material, not per job (another company wanted to charge us $187 for the shower and each toilet, even before they knew what was wrong).

They came quickly and unplugged the drain.

They arrived promptly on Friday afternoon as promised. The technician came in and identified the problem immediately and had it fixed within 30 minutes. I was very impressed with his professionalism and courtesy. I would definitely use them again for other services.

Realized sump pump had died and we were coming up on a few days of rain. Called this company for the first time to talk about the possibility of having the work done. The person I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions in an unbiased way so that I could make my decisions. And, I was offered an opportunity to have the work done the same morning I called, if that was my preference. A plumber was here within about an hour, worked very efficiently and was extremely courteous and helpful showed me how to test the pump and even reminded me to use my Angie's List coupon.

The estimator arrived on schedule, and then the job was scheduled. The plumber arrived on time and the job lasted as long as was estimated. All work areas were left clean and all debris was removed. This is the second time I have used this company, and I will use them again.

We called Shreve-McGonegal on Thursday, and they came out Friday. Ty was very professional, patient and listened to the multiple issues we had to fix. He walked us through any potential issues--for instance, the 2 possible solutions to fixing the hose bib to make sure we were comfortable with his proposed solution. He also talked us through our options on replacing or not replacing some plumbing hardware in a very fair way. For what it's worth, he was very cheerful and friendly, which does count for something. I think the biggest thing is that he arrived within the window of time, but stayed late into a Friday evening to make sure everything was fixed, even though we would have been fine with him coming on a future date to finish the job. The work looks great and is working well. We are very pleased with the quality of work and professionalism.

Very good. Technician was very competent and quick. No problems. A little pricey, but worth it.

Okay - I've had Shreve perform other plumbing work, and they've been fine. I've used Shreve for electrical work, and they've been very good. However, I had to have another crew come back to redo this job. Also, it was more expensive than I had hoped.

They were prompt courteous and professional and always do a good job. Their prices are pretty fair and are comparable for their quality of service. I will consider using them again.

Our garbage disposal had not been working for several weeks. I called Shreve Plumbing because they are less than a mile away. James arrived only a few hours later that same day I called. He tried to fix the disposal, when he couldn't, he replaced it and already had a new unit with him. He also installed a new shower head in one of our bathrooms (the original 1960 shower-head had been there). The fixed price for the garbage disposal seemed a bit steep, but James also snaked the piping in the kitchen and installed the new shower head without any additional time charges. He was very professional, showed up when he said he would, and cleaned up completely when finished.

They are not cheap but they provide really good service. They are very responsive. I appreciated their flexibility. He had some options for us and I liked that. I would recommend this company to others and use them again in the future.

The work was done well and we have even used them since. The price was maybe a little high, but we are happy with the work. They have service on Saturdays for the regular rate, which is very nice. I will definitely use their services in the future and would recommend them to others.

It was fine, they were neat, cleaned up after themselves. They were pleasant with me and explained to me what they were doing and they were professional.

He said it was going to be around $250 but it ended up being $500.

Great. This is the second time we have used Shreve and we requested Andre this time because we liked working with him last time. He did exactly what we expected. Once again, too, he called about 30 minutes before he arrived so my husband could leave work to meet him at the house. It was within the window we were given, but it kept us from having to sit at home for the entire four-hour time frame.

The team arrived promptly as agreed by phone, investigated the cause of the malfunction and replaced the defective part. By chance they even had the (non-standard) spare part in their van from a previous job and we ended up not having to wait for the part to be delivered from Kohler. The team cleaned the worksite up very nicely!
