Randy arrived on time and was very sympathetic as I am recovering from a head injury so cleared out under the sink without asking for my help. He was very neat and professional and cleaned up the site. The price was a little more than I anticipated, but the work was well done and tested when he left.

It is in a guest room so it's not a real urgent thing. I've used them for years. They are reliable and come when they say they will. They do good work and guarantee it for a year. Their prices are high.

After being unable to unclog a toilet ourselves, I called a few places. Shreve was the highest rated on Angie's List that could see us the next day. They gave me an 8am-noon window, and showed up promptly at 9am. He had the problem fixed within 15 minutes. Overall, we were very happy with the service.

Excellent - he called to say he would be arriving in 15 minutes and he did; then listened to description of problem carefully and asked a few questions; then went outside and fixed it.

Finding water coming through my living room ceiling one evening, called the emergency number and quickly got a call back from a guy who gave me some advice and let me know the cost of an emergency call out. Decided to turn off the water for the evening and wait to call the next day to avoid the emergency charge and they came out the same day. The leak was quickly detected to be coming from a pipe under the upstairs shower and he repaired it promptly and efficiently.

This is our first time using Shreve. Our call was taken promptly by a real person. The scheduler listened carefully to my description of what was needed and clearly described their fee schedule. She scheduled our nonemergency service during a 4-hour window on a day I requested. The plumber called early during that window and arrived about ten minutes after his call. He was professional and worked diligently, effciently, and steadily. He explained the cause of the corrosion (poor welding) and replaced the length of pipe that was corroded. He also explained that the sump pump pipe needed to have a hole, but that it should be angled down into the well. He also recommended replacing our 15-year-old sump pump, to which we agreed. He replaced the sump pump and pipe. He checked the elevation of the drain that would be used for a new utllity sink and figured out where the new drain line would have to connect and the requisite slope, and then explained the work and parts that would be needed and gave me an approximate price. He cleaned up the area, which looked better after he left than it had when he arrived. The total amount of time he spent on this visit was 3 1/3 hours. The charges were $535.00 for labor and $384.85 for material (copper pipe and new sump pump). That was more than we had expected, but the extra cost was the sump pump. We will certainly use Shreve again and will probably call them to install the new utility sink soon.

We called and got an arrival "window" of noon to 5. Well past noon we hadn't heard anything and called. They said it would be another couple of hours. That time passed. We called again. Then it was past 5. We called again. The gentleman finally showed up at 10 past 6 -- an hour an ten minutes past the outside of the arrival window we were given. The gentleman was very nice and performed the job, but, on the company/scheduling side, the customer service was deplorable. When I called after the fact to complain (to Chuck Leak), he explained they were slammed because of people taking time off and that everything else that could've gone wrong that week did go wrong etc and said he'd comp the service charge if we used them again. Not sure I want to use them again after this experience, but at least Chuck's response wasn't completely tone deaf. But, again, there was no customer outreach as all of this was going on and that's really the crux of my complaint.

I was able to get an appointment within two days of my phone call, and on the scheduled day I was phoned to tell me that the plumber was enroute. Thus I didn't need to waste half a day waiting for him to show. The plumber worked fast and professionally. He didn't mind me watching! He pointed out things that need to be done on future visits. There's no such thing as an inexpensive plumber, but they were not exorbitant. They apparently bill by the quarter-hour. But the plumber assigned to my jobs went from one to the next with no downtime between. I was completely satisfied.

The service person came as scheduled. However, I found him to be unprofessional and inappropriate. Starting from the way that he looked at me, it made me very uncomfortable and then he began to attempt to chit-chat as if (he might or night not, but that's how I perceived it) he was trying to hit on a potential target of an opposite s**. I tried to ignore but was feeling quite disturbed that someone who is in the business of coming into people's home, where frequently only a woman there, would exhibit that type of mannerism. When he arrived at the door, I asked him to take his shoes off because we do not wear shoes inside due to health reason. He refused and did not offer any alternative (such as shoe cover) so I terminate the service and called for a replacement and talked to the supervisor. He indicated that it was the company's policy to not take the shoes off, but that perhaps shoe covers could be used. I indicated that it would be fine, and asked him to send someone else with shoe covers. However, after thinking more about it, I ended up canceling the service because I really didn't have confidence about their next worker nor their lack of customer-oriented service. I also provided him (on the voice mail) feedback on the worker's inappropriate manners as the very reason why I chose not to use the company. The reason I called them was because I used their service one time in the past, and the person at that time was really polite and efficient in performing the work (and took shoes off without any issue). I will not use them again because apparently they did not have a company policy/training on customer service but rather it will depend on who you get and their personalities. I found this experience to be unsettling, and this was the first time I felt this way. I used many other companies in the past to come into my home to do various thins and never had a similar experience.

It went very well. They were able to come out the day after I called. I was kept informed on what was going on. The work was completed in a timely manner and everything cleaned up. There was a hole left in the ceiling but I had not expected that to be fixed as part of a plumbing job.

Overall I am very satisfied with the work. I called Wednesday and a repairman was sent first thing Thursday morning. He called before arriving and came right about when I expected. It was nothing very complicated, but he did a very good job and did not mind that I watched him do the work. He answered all my questions including one about a floor drain in the laundry room that needs to be replenished with water from time to time - I wasn't sure about that. I highly recommend Shreve-McGonegal and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

The person who answered the phone was a bit gruff but he efficiently scheduled my appointment. I could have had an appointment the next day or day after but I instead scheduled for the following week. I was asked to specify morning or afternoon so I asked for morning, which I was told meant an 8-12 window. The plumber (Ty) called me a half hour before he arrived and then arrived a few minutes before noon. He was courteous and friendly. I was glad that he offered to take his shoes off before he came into my house, which has beige carpet. The job took 2 1/2 hours but he performed the work in a clean and detailed manner. My husband, who is very picky, was even pleased with the job. The job required him to cut a hole in our closet wall to get access to the guest bathroom plumbing. He carefully moved clothes out of the way and the hole that he cut was neatly done so that the removed piece can be used to patch it back up. He had to remove the old valve and re-solder the new valve. He left no mess in the closet. He removed and disposed of the old shower trim kits and was careful to remove all the old caulk before putting on the new parts. We opted to not have him re-caulk the parts since my husband preferred to do it. He also left no mess in the bathroom when he was done. The job was not inexpensive, but I've hired plumbers before and I know how much they charge. They charged about what I was expecting. Before he left, Ty explained to me that the work was guaranteed for a year, which is nice and that I could have asked for a "very early morning" appointment where I would have been put on the schedule first. That would have been nice to know when I called but it all worked out in the end.

We are very pleased with Shreve...honest, prompt and great to work with!

I have used this company multiple times, both for my investment properties and my own home. I used their plumbing services for a chronic problem on an investment property. They worked quickly and charged less than other companies I've used for the same problem. They did not try to "upsell" me. I used them recently for an air conditioning problem. Again...same day service, no upselling, quick and effective solution at a fair price. Note: I first found them on AngiesList and have been very pleased with their service. They've sent someone out the same day nearly everytime, quickly identified and solved the problem and gave me a very fair price. I would definitely recommend them.

Both plumbers did a good job. In the first instance, we were able to get a next-day appointment on a Saturday, which was very convenient for us. In the second, we were able to get a same day appointment, which was great. I felt that we might have been able to find someone to do the work cheaper perhaps, but it was worth it to get the timely response, weekend hours, and good service. We decided to go with another company for the electrical work for reasons unrelated to Shreve's estimate, but at any rate Shreve's estimate was average.

We called at night, and they called back within a day, and scheduled it promptly for the following day, a Saturday. Our fixture really wasn't worth repairing, so Ty installed a new one quickly. No good plumbing service is cheap, but this stuff has to be done right, in my opinion. I would use them again.

I tried to schedule an appointment with Shreve-McGonegal and the woman who answered the phone was so rude, I couldn't do it. I tried to explain to her the work I needed done and she talked over me. Then, I tried to ask a question about what kind of parts they have (because I need an Ikea faucet installed which requires some sort of adapter) and she just kept saying over and over (like I couldn't hear her or something) "Ma'am, I don't know what parts they have on the truck." Finally, I asked her to please stop saying that and give me a chance to ask her a question, and she said that I could ask questions to the plumber when he called me on his way to the appointment. I told her that wouldn't be necessary and I didn't need an appointment after all.

Called and someone was actually in the office and answered on one of the days everyplace was closed due to the blizzard. Scheduled the appt. and plumber called early that morning to confirm and showed up on time. Very professional. We had a leak behind the kitchen sink and then discovered a small hole in one of the pipes in the wall. Plumber came and offered a couple options and his advice how to patch the hole, he snaked the drain and changed a faucet in the basement. Would highly recommend.

I called Shreve -McGonigal in mid-January for an estimate on the repairs. I was given an estimate of $195. Two weeks later I called back to schedule the work which was scheduled just two days later. The appointment was scheduled between 12:00 and 5:00 on January 27. The plumber called me at 12:00 to say that he was on the way. I was stuck in traffic and missed his first call. He called me back about an hour later to say that he would arrive in 10 minutes. The plumber arrived promptly and was very professional. He removed his shoes at the door. After I explained the repairs we needed, he went right to work and completed the repairs in less than 45 minutes. The amount of the bill including the Angie's list discount exactly matched the estimate that I had been given earlier. We were very pleased with Shreve - McGonegal's service from the estimate to the completed work.

Naturally we wanted this problem dealt with FAST. Shreve had a crew at our house within 90 minutes of our call -- we were pleasantly surprised they could get here so quickly. They were courteous and professional (as their people always are, we've used them before). The issue took some time to fix, as the blockage was 150 ft from our house, but they completely resolved it and did not leave until they had satisfied us and themselves that the drains were clear. We did have one complaint -- while they were fairly careful, they did track sewage between the affected areas and the front and back doors of the house. They should have worn covers over their boots as they traversed the unaffected areas. In fairness though, we needed the problem fixed quickly and completely and they worked hard to do that.

We initially called because of a leaking pipe, and therefore were pleased that we were able to get someone out promptly to our house (the next day). He called about an hour before arrival, which was courteous, and he worked diligently and efficiently on all the projects he gave him to do.

Overall, I would call them again. I scheduled an appointment for the next day, but got a call soon after asking if they could come the same day. The plumber wasn't able to fix one of my sinks, since I was not able to get the condo's water shut off. However he did a great job on the toilets. Was very clean and explained everything he was doing or needed to do. Only thing I didn't love was when I asked him about how much it would cost. His response was "I have no idea." While I appreciate the honesty, I've had other plumbers give me a ballpark at least. All in all, they are a good choice. Hire them.

It was Saturday and I thought it might be difficult to find someone who would come the same day. The technician was helpful and professional on the phone and in person. He arrived at the exact appointment time. After clearing the clogged drain, he took time to provide us with advice about avoiding future trouble. Altogether it was the most positive plumbing experience I've had.

They were very pleasant on the phone, although you do get routed through some phone operator service before you get to speak to someone. They were able to come out on a weekend with just a couple of days notice. The plumber was on time and very nice. He replaced some broken/worn out parts in both faucets and they both work well now. He also pointed out that the spring on our hand sprayer for the kitchen sink was starting to wear out. He told us that it was an easy fix and explained how we could actually replace it ourselves. We really appreciated that! Overall they did good work, but their initial fee for coming out to the house is a bit high, although not that unusual.

My husband worked with him and they did great work, however the price was a little steep.
