Pretty much on time, did Sat work, came back to finish work (upon my request so I could buy a part), nice, clean, professional

Called the number listed in Angie's list and they dispatched someone the next day. they arrived within the 5 hour window quoted, made an obvious effort to keep the workspace and house clean by laying down drop cloths and wearing 'booties' on their feet. They fixed the problem quickly-barely an hour passed and they cleaned up took our payment and they were on their way.

It took a little longer than we expected to actually get the work scheduled, but once we agreed on a date, they showed up on time and were very professional. They took the time to understand what our remodeling plans were and brought the old plumbing up to code. They worked steadily through the whole day, completing the project earlier than planned. They explained the work when completed and gave us welcome tips on how to proceed with the remodeling. We would definitely work with them again.

Very well. He took his time to make sure all possible places for the leak were checked; make sure all pipes were clear. Very professional and courteous.

Professional all the way. Called back on a problem; resolved it. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Professional work and advice. Employees were clean, used shoe covers and cleaned up after their work.

Appointment was for today, between 8 -12.. I confirmed with Shreve-McGonegal (SM) at 10:15 today. By 12:15 service man had not appeared nor called to explain delay. I called SM; within 10 minutes, service man called to apologize - his previous house call had resulted in additional work not programmed and so he was running behind schedule. He said he would be here within 30 minutes, and he was. I had leaking water around the toilet, but serviceman determined that tank was not properly bolted to seat, and instead of removing entire assembly and replacing seal (fairly expensive), he suggested tightening bolts (tank to seat) should solve problem. We agreed to give that a try, and service charges were reduced to under $100 using Angie's List coupon. So, while I have rated him low on punctuality (it was not entirely his fault, although a courtesy call would have been appreciated), I would give him high marks for honesty in not doing unnecessary work - nobody likes to feel they've been ripped off.

They came in and took care of previous problem. They were very professional.

First appointment of the day and he arrived slightly early which was great! I went over what I thought was the issue and he then took a look and concurred. He did a great job identifying the problem, telling me why it happened, how to prevent it in the future, and then fixing it. First time using this company and would do it again, especially would ask for Randy.

A technician showed up within the promised range, gave a verbal estimate of $3,500, collected $50 for the visit and said that his supervisor would confirm the estimate and the expected service date within an hour. He did not. I called few hours later and someone from the customer service (not sure if this was the promised supervisor or not) increased the price tag to $4,000, again verbally and without much explanation. At this point I decided to drop them. This is a big contrast with a couple of other plumbers I called for an estimate: free estimate, written and detailed pricing, professional attitude. Will never call Shreve-McGonegal again.

I spoke to other plumbers to get a better price and ended up speaking to the manager who recognized that I was a longtime customer who should have been offered a few discounts but did not get those offers. He made me the offer to cover the labor cost and I only bought the part (the part was $150).

The plumbers were very efficient and professional. They showed up on time and were able to determine quickly what the problems were. The services are not the cheapest on the market, but it is worth it to get the job done right.

The technician arrived and helped identify the source of the leak that was causing a lot of water being lost. I thought the technician was knowledgeable, helpful, and reasonable but the price was high for the work he performed. I didn't even know how much it was going to be until the end. That was my mistake a bit but there was real sticker shock at the end, especially because the whole time he spent was maybe 30 minutes or less. I don't think that I would never use them again but I will at least try several others before I try them again.

During another fix-it project, we needed to turn off the water supply to the house. Thus, discovered that there had been a leak close to the shut off valve for some time. Our regular handyman could not do the work so we saw that Shreve-McGonegal was highly rated and called...they came within a couple of hours and did the work with excellence. I wish these kinds of events didn't cost as much as they do, but I feel very satisfied that the work was of high quality and will last longer than we will. Technician was by far the best plumber we have ever used.

These are my go to guys when I need plumbing repairs. They do quality work and respond quickly. I've used them for many years.

Called on a weekend after the basement ceiling was leaking fron a water leak at the kitchen sink. We turned the house water off and drained the pipes. Randy was on call...he had to drive from Warrenton to FallsChurch to pick up the Company truck....Why the company doesn't give the truck to the on call guy is questionable. After 5 visits (over 5 days) we thought the water leak was under control but the leak resumed after a week....we called a friend over who does remodeling and he found that the soldering was not complete and repaired the problem for $40 for parts...Randy did $600 worth of a side job of putting washers in the faucet, which later had to be replaced as the faucet had a crack in it and replacing the sink faucet and spigot...He tried to solder the pipes with limited access as the floor of the cabinet would only tip about 8 inches...Our friend cut through the base of the cabinet and replaced the 2 pipes that had leaks...The original pipe was charged to the company and the other pipe was paid in cash to Randy....

I called Shreve-McGonegal after my mom called in a frantic state because the bathroom sink and tub was clogged and not draining. The person I spoke to was very polite and extremely helpful. I was able to get a technician the same day. I also informed them that my mom was a senior citizen and didn't have credit cards so was told that she could write a check for the services. When I checked back later in the evening, my mom said Shreve-McGonegal came and unclogged the drain. She was very pleased which made me very pleased. Thank you for your excellent response and workmanship! I would definately call Shreve-McGonegal for the next plumbing problem.

We went to Shreve-McGonegal (S-M) for a second opinion on some repair work for our kitchen faucet. Our first choice had quoted an enormous sum (about $650) to replace our kitchen faucet and I called S-M after reading their good reviews on Angie's List. S-M offered same day service and their plumber was extremely professional, efficient, and friendly. He walked us through every step as he worked to identify the cause of our problem and was able to identify a solution to our problem at a fraction of the cost of the original plumber (about $75) and without needing to replace the faucet. Overall, I was very happy with our experience. Their dispatching fee is a bit higher than some of the other services I called (about $50) but I was extremely satisfied with their work and would not hesitate to hire them again.

I received service within 24 hours of my call. They were very professional and went into detail about whether or not the faucet should be repaired or replaced. This helped us make the decision to have the faucet replaced. He had all the parts with him and the replacement was complete in about an hour. I would definitely use this plumber again!
