Our patio is wonderful!! We had Luisa come to our home to look at where we wanted to install a patio and walkways. She surveyed our area, took measurements, worked with us to design the shape and then while we looked at photos of past work, she worked on an estimate and we had everything we needed to make a decision the same day. We scheduled our installation and went to the showroom to pick out a pattern and colors, everyone was VERY friendly and easy to work with. We changed our minds on the stone we selected before our installation date and the office staff was VERY courteous and helpful and nice, especially when I called and emailed numerous times with questions. THEY WERE GREAT. What I didn't like was after our patio was finished. The crew left, and we had no idea when they were coming back to finish, then workers would just show up and do something, but we had no idea if it was done or not. I would have preferred to have been more informed on the process and steps and when workers would be coming. It would have been nice to have one main contact at the office, who could have let us know what was happening and when it was planned.

Greystone was quick to set up an estimate, set up an appointment to pick out the pattern, etc, and did a wonderful job on the patio, it's beautiful! My only complaint was the communication on when the job would be done. There were a lot of delays due to the rain, which was understandable, but I only heard about the delays from neighbors who were also getting patios. The day would come that they were supposed to start and no one would show or call, I'd call and if I got an answer they said they'd call at the end of the week with an updated schedule on when things would be done. The gentlemen who built it were nice and professional, but did leave a dead/dry path from the material and truck on my lawn. But again, the job was done beautifully and the price was fair.

Greystone is incredible! We originally hired a friend of a friend who had just started a stamped concrete business - he gave us a great price since he was just starting out. Unfortunately, he was terrible! Our patio was poured with a significant slope to it (beyond what is appropriate for a concrete patio), the stamps were uneven, overlapping, some were barely there... it was awful. We insisted he remove it and do it over again; he went out of business before he could re-pour. Greystone saved the day! They came in, fixed the concrete forms, installed the proper rebar supports, and completed the job PROPERLY. About 8 months after the project was completed we put the house on the market. It sold in a weekend, and I have no doubt the quick sale was largely due to the amazing patio in the back yard. It was huge, beautifully done, and a wonderful outdoor living space. Now, six years later, we've hired Greystone for another project at our new house! I didn't even bother calling other companies; I knew they would do the work correctly and with a high quality. Our new patio is being poured today, and I am so excited to see it completed!

All of the work was completed in a day! The crew is amazingly fast, thorough, and professional. They cleaned all the debris from the yard and left the space ready for use (after the concrete set, of course!). The crew was also very friendly, engaging my two small children who were fascinated with their equipment. They arrived on time and worked continuously until the job was done. They were careful to not tear up our yard with their equipment, and took measures to protect the house and several sliding glass doors during the demolition and installation. We've had bad experiences with vendors in the past - Greystone is amazing! I will ALWAYS recommend them to friends and family, or call on them for future projects!
Description of Work: Greystone tore out an existing patio space and installed a new, redesigned stamped concrete patio for us. Part of this project was also replacing seven support columns for our screened in porch above the patio space.

They did amazing work. The guys who came out here were unbelievably professional. I would recommend them to anybody. Their professionalism, and the work that they did stood out. I am completely happy with the product. They did some follow up work because they didn't complete part of it.
Description of Work: They did a pressed concrete patio.
I called Greystone Masonry and got a quote very fast. They had to change the time due to weather but when the crew started within a couple days all the work was done and so far I am very happy with the result. It made my backyard look much cleaner and beautiful. The crew was very polite and professional. Thank you for all your work and great customer service Greystone Masonry!
Description of Work: Backyard stamped concrete patio. Great results!
Greystone did a very good job. They removed the old asphalt driveway and replaced it with a brushed concrete. The brushed concrete looks great. They used high grade concrete poured over steel reinforcement bar (rebar). They drilled the rebar into the garage slab so that there will be no shifting of the concrete. The workers were great and very industrious. Melissa kept us informed of the status as the date of installation approached.

I called Greystone Masonry of Stafford VA, on 5/10/2014 at 12:20pm and talked to Debbie for seven min. I know the exact date, time and duration because I use GVoice and it has an accurate call log of all calls to/from my cell. I was setting up an estimate appointment for a ~450 foot patio we wanted to build. Debbie told me that they would not be out to Leesburg VA until June 2nd and that an estimator would be there between 10am and noon. I put the appointment on my calendar and was anxiously awaiting the date because we were out getting estimates from several contractors. Greystone’s was going to be out last estimate due to the later date. We had a few weeks to get all the others scheduled up and would make our decision after Greystone’s submission. June 2nd rolls around and I call them at 0826 and 0933 to confirm they will be there that day. There was no one answering the phone on the 0826 time due to them opening at 0900. I called again at the 0933 time and again there was no answer. This time I left a message asking to have them call me confirming the time I would see someone. Debbie called me back at 0959 and told me that she had called a week back and left a message stating they would not be able to send someone out to do an estimate. I politely asked her for the date she called and she tells me it was on the 27th sometime. She then asked me if I could send some pictures and they could get back to me with something. She gave me the address “greystoneconcrete@comcast.net” for the pictures she wanted me to send them to. I did not want to get angry with them on the phone so I politely broke off the call. I am extremely disappointed with their lack of communication. Again I use Gvoice for all my calls and I know for a FACT she did not call me sometime on the 27th. We had finished all the others before Memorial Day and was specifically waiting on their estimate to close out our selection phase. I guess I should have called them daily to ensure they were going to live up to their part. My mistake. It was as if they really did not need my business. I do not know if this is indicative of their work but I wanted to share my experience of Greystone Masonry of Stafford VA to the larger Angies List community. ~Lee

The company was quite responsive in dispatching a sales representative to meet with us at our residence to conduct a site survey, review the preliminary design we provided and to discuss details associated with stamped and stained concrete patios. The representative was Elvis White, a General Manager from the company who was quite knowledgeable of the company and the stamped concrete process. He spent ample time with me in the yard patiently listening to my ideas, thoughts and expectations. He then took measurements and provided many other options to enhance what I had initially presented as a preliminary design. Within days he emailed a copy of his final proposed architectural drawing (design) and followed it up with a phone call so we could discuss in detail, the suggested dimensions, patio finishes, seating walls, fire pit and finally the available construction schedule. We then made an appointment to meet him at his show room later that week to review sample project photos, review patterns, colors and materials to finalize our design. Overall, we were quite please Mr. White's professionalism, knowledge of his products and his expertise in general construction landscaping. He was quite responsive to my inquiries throughout the process and we appreciated his suggestions and insight to make our patio the best in our neighborhood. Mr. White stepped us through every facet of this process to minimize any concerns regarding construction quality, daily site clean-up and minimal disturbance (property and debris) to our neighbors during the construction phase. This company came highly recommended by a fellow resident within our subdivision and we are pleased that we made the decision to go with Greystone for this project based on quality and customer care.

Greystone has done an excellent job on each of my projects. I've used them on four different ocassions over several years. Each of my projects were connected to one another. They were able to get the colors/borders and and quot;lookand quot; to be seamless. Everything looks like it was done at one time. Luisa is amazon. She works very well with me and knows exactly what I want. Greystone's professionalism, quality of work, and willing to please is off the charts. I'm very happy with everything they have done for me. I would highly recommend them to others.

The entire Greystone Masonry organization, particularly Elvis, did a fantastic job of walking my wife and I through the difficult decision process with respect to adding a patio to our back yard. They patiently answered the mind-boggling number of questions we unleashed on them, as this was a first time experience for us, and there was not a single occasion that we felt pressured or manipulated to make a decision that we were not 100 percent comfortable with. Because of the temperate and sage guidance we received, we are eagerly looking forward to our beautiful new custom concrete stamped patio and the many fun-filled memories that are sure to follow this upcoming spring/summer. We will be sure to provide another review once the project is complete, but we are expecting big things!

Overall, they did a great job, my only complaint is there was no communication or final inspection done to go over the finished service. I was told that someone was going to come out and pressure wash the patio and do a final walk through to ensure we were happy with the service. I waited for this to happen and no one came out or called to see if we had any concerns. Couple months later of not hearing from GreyStone I received a final bill.

I had seen several stamped patios at different houses and liked their work, they even did my parents home. I called to get a bid on the patio and the company was very friendly and prompt. Their rep came out and expertly helped me redesign an old patio. I really liked the input. They were to install a patio around a pool, a deck drain, and move some existing electric. I was told it would be complete the first week in August. The job was finished in NOVEMBER. They finally started the job in mid August and this is where the problems started. I was told they would use wheel barrows to bring the concrete in through the gate. They decided they would remove a section of fence and then reinstall when complete which was ok. However, they left the job, set the fence in place but did not screw it back in and they left three boards laying on the ground. I had to complete that myself. As for the patio, they poured it four inches higher than what was designed and two steps were added to go up into the yard, however when reaching the top step, you had to step a full step down to the yard. Now I will have to regrade around the step to make it right. They were supposed to move an electric line for the pool but when I went out to check on the patio they had bare electric lines covered with loose dirt and they were getting ready to poor concrete over the wires. NOT TO CODE. I called the office and they said that it would get done correctly. It was not, they left the outlet laying on the ground useless still connected to the electric panel. Long story short, they showed up in November without an appointment to run another electric line to the pool. Lost use of the pool at the end of swimming season because of this. The patio included a stamped compass. When I called about the electric I asked if they knew where the compass was to be installed, they said yes. I went out to check on progress again and they were about to install the compass in the wrong place. That was the best of it. I showed them where to put the compass and they stamped it into the patio. I came back out again about 15 minutes later and looked the compass and the stamp was bad. North and south were pointing the correct positions but east was pointing west and west was pointing east. They were getting ready to leave and I told them that would have to be fixed. So they had extra east and west stamps in the truck and they repaired that. See the problem is that when you use a stamp, it has to be a negative and it was not. This means that the north and south letters were reversed. They said the concrete was setting up and the could not repair the north and south. Another long story short, they showed up with out an appointment a month or two later to chisel out concrete and correct the north and south letters. The sad thing about this is they had used the stamp for several other patios. I even went back and looked in their catalog and it was incorrect there. How could anyone keep using a bad stamp, do they hope customers wont notice? As for the wall they were supposed to build, they built 1/2 of it the day they poured the concrete and showed up a month later to complete the wall, again without calling. Needless to say with all of these problems I was calling and emailing the office all the time with very poor responses from Greystone. Overall the patio does look good now but it was the biggest hassle I have ever had to deal with using a contractor. I would never use this company again.

The initial estimate was around $17,500 and Greystone was under in their estimate of the amount of square footage we had, which increased the final cost. We appealed to them to compromise on this additional cost factor which they did. We also added some features to the driveway which increased the cost. For example, instead of 4and quot; thick we made it 5and quot; thick. We chose a larger slate looking pattern for the courtyard driveway and we are super pleased with how it looks and have received many compliments. We are very glad we chose this option for the front of our house and were pleased with how professional Greystone was. They have a large crew and the owner even came out at one point just to make sure everything was going well. The salesperson we worked with -- Elvis -- was also very professional and courteous, prompt and responsive. Despite the increased cost -- which was due to a larger space so the charge was fair -- we would happily use them again.
Description of Work: For a new home construction, we chose to install a stamped concrete driveway for a large courtyard driveway area in front of a three car garage. Because the space was so big the aesthetic appeal of the driveway was important as well as the cost. We chose stamped concrete over pavers because of the inevitable settling that would occur with pavers unless we poured concrete underneath, which would have made this option three times the cost of stamped concrete. Greystone gave us an estimate, came and cleared and prepped the area (which was raw dirt), poured the concrete, stamped it, sealed it twice and roped off the area to make sure no one drove or walked on it. They also poured the concrete for the driveway apron which had been cracked during construction. That entailed removing the old concrete and pouring the new material in.

GREYSTONE did an excellent job for both projects. The salesperson put together a design for the mini patio that worked out perfectly. The work crews completed the work timely according to the design and cleaned up the area. The sitting walls came out really nice. They provided suggestions for the type of brick based on the existing patio and it is a very good match. Although the wrong caps were initially ordered, the salesperson apologized and was quick to re-order the correct caps and have them installed expeditiously. The receptionist and workers are courteous and professional. They maybe a little pricey but they do offer a flexible payment plan for returning customers. They stand by their work and I recommend them for projects of this sort. I will include a few pictures to give you an idea of what to expect in terms of quality and a finished product once the lights are installed.

Greystone workers were very professional on both projects: 1. installing the mini stamped concrete patio next to the garage. As a satisfied customer of the Greystone Masonry of Stafford, VA, we felt a responsibility to tell others of the wonderful job they did when they installed our new concrete driveway. The company has a very neighborly approach that begins by sending a representative/estimator to your home to assess the work and provide an estimated cost for the work. Further, you will find the estimator knowledgeable of the process and will explain in detail the different phases of the work and materials that will be used. All these information was valuable for us that it made us sign a contract with them. We now have a driveway that is level and solid that we can enjoy for years to come. The team who installed the driveway worked closely with us too, to make sure it was up to our agreed specification. A foreman was also onsite to oversee the work. You too can have this experience if you use Greystone Masonry of Stafford, VA. Their contact number is: (540) 752-5658.

Everything went without a hitch. From the first phone call to our first BBQ on the lovely new patio! Greystone walked us through the HOA approval, offered terrific suggestions, and we ended up with everything we wanted. The workers were outstanding. They took pride in their work and worked hard. There was a minor problem with the sitting wall and Greystone sent someone out to fix it to our satisfaction. This is a very good company! Use them and you will be satisfied.
