My gas stove was not lighting properly. They fixed the problem. They told me a couple of things that I should look up for and maintain the gas stove. The service was very good. The price was fair. It was a couple of days before I got an appointment.

Great. I got an appointment for the day after my initial call. Waleed arrived right after the time window (a nice 2 hr window) started after calling to say he was on the way. He took apart and fixed the stove, without needing to replace an expensive part that was stuck. He worked efficiently and was very focused on getting the job done. He was even patient as I cleaned all the yucky parts that he took apart so he could fix the part. I was informed that if the part were to fail within the next 30 days, the $99 I paid would be applied to the cost of the new part. Overall, it was smooth, quick and did the trick.

He was very, very good. He was able to respond the quickest of the companies I contacted. He arrived on time and he had to order a part. He told me all the things that could possibly be causing the problem and it could cost me up to $500 or I could replace the dishwasher. He did a great job. He stuck to what he was doing and got out of here. The pricing was okay; I am always stunned at how expensive repairs are. Most of the other places were going to charge just to come and look at it. He charged $69 to come out and deducted that from the overall price of the repair. If I had not chosen to use him, I would have had to pay the $69. It was pretty much what everyone else said, but he was going to deduct that from the total cost. I thought it was pretty pricey. I am assuming it is working, but I haven't tried it yet. He seemed to be knowledgeable and had a lot of experience on these types of machines.

Fast, thorough, skillful, and friendly.
Description of Work: This is the 2nd time we have used All American. First we had the dishwasher repaired. This time we had our old GE electric stove fixed, and our Whirlpool refrigerator checked out. The stovetop needed the 2 large heating coils replaced, and the upper oven needed a new heating element. The charges included parts and service, plus a follow-up visit to install the oven part which is on order. Along with the service, you get all kinds of advice on how to maintain your appliances--for example, how to revive the rubber seals on the fridge (use Vaseline). These folks are real pros, and real nice, and super fair. I recommend them enthusiastically.

The service was really good. When I called their office, they were very professional and courteous. They scheduled me as soon as they could and it fit into my schedule. They showed up when they were supposed to. The technician was quite knowledgeable, nice and friendly, and he looked clean - he was everything that you would want in a repair guy that shows up at your house. He took a look at the problem and then gave me the bad news. He told me that I could either repair it and drop $400 in the washing machine or I could buy a new one. We really had a chat about which option would be smarter. They were very helpful, knowledgeable and really honest. I was really impressed with their honesty. I spent $69.95 which they would have refunded if I had gone with them. They were cheaper than other providers I tried.

I had to pay to replace the part American Appliance removed from my oven. American Appliance kept the $100 deposit I initially paid to them and the repairman used my clean bathroom everytime he came to repair my oven. I will say they gave me great advice to call the authorized dealer to repair it! I now have a service contract on all of my appliances with the authorized dealer.
Description of Work: A 600+ estimate was given to repair a double oven. A joined Angie's list to specifically pick a reputable oven company to repair my oven. The oven had failed on me once before and I called a prior company who fixed it the first time and they gave me the runaround so I decided to call Angie's List. After no fewer than four trips and two cancellation trips, American Appliance gave up on fixing my oven. They suggested that I call a Whirlpool authorized dealer because they just could not fix it. I took their advice and the oven was fixed by the Whirlpool authroized dealer in one visit. I was ok with all of this until when the Whirlpool repairman came to home and informed me that a part to my oven was missing to complete the repair. I called American Appliance and they confirmed they had the part.

It is true that every attempt was made to fix this unit, the technician @ this job was bond and determinded to fix the unit, and the customer seemed okay with proceeding. It would appear that we ireceived a defective part from our distributor which prolonged the attempt to diagnoises this unit properly. As for the part missing it was a defective part and which I indicated we would return to the customer. I will issue a check for the $100.00 immediatly, I only wish the member would have spoken to me first, to reach a mutal understanding before posting on Angie's List. Although I do understand her frustration she did have another company replace parts and charge her for something that did not work and we were now the second company involved who could not fiqure out the issue. We at All American Never charge for a repair that did not work, We ended up installing a control board and touch pad at no cost to the customer. Our only mistake was not refering this customer to factory service in a more timely manor. As for the technician using the restroom he did spend a lot of time at the house and when you got to go you got to go.

It went very well. I originally called to schedule an appointment for a week earlier. I had to reschedule and was pleased there were no issues in rescheduling. The tech (Corey) called me when he was 20 minutes away. He was very personable and professional. I really learned alot as well as getting my dishwasher fixed.
Description of Work: There was no water going into the dishwasher. The tech (Corey) did a complete examination of the dishwasher, cleaned out areas I didn't even know existed AND explained to me what he was doing so I could prevent the problem from recurring.

Called to have the belt and bulb replaced and the washer drum checked out. Appt made for Saturday (good) so we did not have to take leave from work. Technician arrived at the end time given (9AM to 1PM). The technician confired the belt was broken and went back to his truck to see if he had a replacment. When he returned I opened the door and he had "just noticed" that the belt he brought from his truck was also broken? He said he was sorry, he could not get a belt as the parts department was not open. He would return on Tuesday, someone would call. $70.00. OK so now one of us has to take leave to wait (again until the end time given) to have the belt and bulb replaced. I had to remind him of the bulb and to check the drum, on his original visit. He said it was fine. Cost for the belt and bulb $79.00. Outrageous.$150.00 plus 4 hours of lost work time.

We are sorry this customer feels he had a bad experience we do indeed try to keep parts on our trucks. Sometimes however this does happen. Customers are told the technician can arrive anytime during the 3- hour window given. which is why the are offered a call 15 to 30 min ahead if needed. Washer was a Kenmore stack and customer was told over the phone that he was looking at about $160.00 for the repair, so the price should not be a surprise. In addition there was no mention of the bulb being out. customer was scheduled for after 2:00 for the return visit as requested. We would have returned on a Saturday, if the customer did not want to take off work. Except for not having the belt on the truck, and our parts supplier being closed, everything was handled normally. sorry

The technician arrived on time, was courteous, business-like and obviously knew what he was doing. he could have simply replaced the heating element, collected the originally quoted price indicated above and I would have been very happy and I would still be filing this very favorable report.
Description of Work: Clothes dryer heater was inoperative. I had requested an estimate to replace the heating element and was pleased to receive a faxed figure of $199.95 less a 10% discount for using Angie's. The technician instead diagnosed the problem as being that the 240 Volt wall plug had dropped a leg so was not providing the proper power to the dryer. He nonetheless checked all electrical circuits and connections within the dryer itself to confirm that there was no problem with the dryer. I was charged for a service call only and the electrical problem was corrected by my electrician, who was scheduled for other business later in the day.

Overall, I was pleased. I am disappointed that the "groaning" noise in the dishwasher wasn't eliminated, but I will definitely use this company again. I had quick response from my call...the next day, and they were on schedule in arriving.
Description of Work: Repaired an old side/by/side refrigerator/freezer I keep for extra refrigerator space. The door wouldn't stay closed tightly. This had caused a big ice buildup in the freezer side. He repaired the door and defrosted the freezer...works perfectly now! My 4 year old dishwasher was making loud "groaning" noises during operation. When Peter was here, it didn't make as much noise as usual; he returned the next week & replaced the motor. The dishwasher is still noisy, so whatever was wrong with the motor wasn't the cause of the noise. I decided to wait and see if the noise gets worse...if so, I'll call All American Appliance to return.

All American couldn't come out to my house for several days when I first called, so I went with another company. That company told my the repair would require a $500 replacement assembly plus labor, so I tried All American again. They offered some advice on working with the other company, but when that wasn't effective, they gave me an appointment maybe two days after my call. Peter from their company phoned 20-30 minutes before arriving at my home, borrowed a bath towel to catch falling ice and frost, and repaired the dispenser with a part he had in his truck in less than an hour for $80. He offered suggestions in the event anything else went wrong and told me his work is guaranteed for 30 or 90 days (don't remember).

I called and got an appointment for 2 days after my call. On the day of my appointment, they called me in the morning to reschedule my afternoon appointment due to an injury of one of their service technicians. I rescheduled for the following day. The office manager called me with a listing of the items I needed to replace, and an approximate price of each. Because the total repair bill was likely to exceed $500 (needed 4 items replaced, plus labor), I elected to replace the entire unit. I paid only for the service call. My understanding is that if I went ahead with the repair, the estimate would have been free.

This is the third time I have used this company and as usual they did excellent work. I had bought a new dishwasher believing I had also purchased the installation of said appliance. This was not the case. The dishwasher was delivered and wasn't even removed from the box. I called the store and asked how long would it take to get someone to install the dishwasher. I was told that a person could install it within four to five days. This was not acceptable. I called All American Appliance that Saturday and was told someone could install it Monday morning. I was thrilled. The installation was more involved than I thought. The dishwasher had to be hardwired. The work took a while, but the repairman was patient and very professional. He did an excellent job. He also removed the old dishwasher and the packaging from the new one.

We called and scheduled a service call. The technician called to confirm about 45 minutes before arriving. The technician quickly confirmed degraded performance and determined parts to be replaced. He tested for microwave leaking around door and vent. He provided advice on fixing versus replacing. He pointed out different manufacturers' parts in Thermador OEM microwave oven. He counseled us on how to identify if the unit was becoming dangerous to operate. He called for parts quotes. In the end, we decided to replace the unit instead of fixing it. The technician came off at first as a little gruff, but he was very experienced and helpful; he provided a lot of information about microwave ovens. We would be very comfortable having him come again for appliance repair.

Was able to setup an appointment a few days from when I called. The technician called before he arrived, was polite, and explained everything that he was doing and reasoning behind it. It was a quick fix and had the part replaced in 20 minutes. My only complaint is that the he had run out of the part he needed and didn't discover it until after he had cut it out of the oven. So we had to schedule another appointment for the part which was a bit of a bummer, but not his fault.

The machine works; most of the process was fine.
Description of Work: Repair of washer. Tech arrived on time, but he seemed to need me to talk to while he was working. He was ready to give up on finding the cause of the washer breakdown, but continued to look when I stayed on the scene with him. I like it when a technician works independently, because I could not help and did not understand as he described the minutiae of the washer's workings. He was very nice, so I'm giving him this advice.

Bottom line is the washer is fixed for $230 and I didn't have to replace any parts. He did about an hour of labor and was very knowledgeable about Whirlpools and the pump problems with this particular model.
Description of Work: The drain pump on my 2004 Whirlpool Calypso washing machine wasn't draining at all. Scott, the technician, removed the bottom plate, drained the machine of rinse water and found the pump had seized due to impacted lint. He was able to free up the pump by removing all the lint that had wrapped around the pump shaft preventing it from operating. Also replaced my hoses which were beginning to seep. I wanted to replace the drain tub underneath (bought a new one at a hardware store) but it was an irregular alignment with the floor drain coupling and we couldn't get it hooked up. But he did all the lifting trying.

Timely arrival. I had already diagnosed the problem with the ice-maker as a bad pump, which was confirmed and replaced. The repair person also explained that although I was cleaning the drainage tubes properly, I had not vacuumed all the areas I needed to clean to assure that water would no longer pool at the bottom. Free, knowledgeable advice is always welcome.

My refrigerator/freezer started to make weird noises on the weekend. It finally quit working on Monday afternoon. I called All American Appliance, a company I had used before, that day. Unfortunately, they were unable to come Tuesday because they were booked. But they would squeeze me in for Wednesday. The repair man came promptly and fixed the problem in an hour. He wouldn't leave until he was sure the refrigerator was working properly. I was extremely satisfied with his work.
