After years of being our Elerctrician of choice Aces Electric abandoned my job before completion leaving me with 2 exposed electric panels and a large, dangerous, hole next to my foundation. They stopped taking my calls, refused to answer a BBB comlaint and refsed to return my messages. Aces Electric took over 9 months on a 2 day project only to leave me in the lurch. I made every requested payment without question even after the project went well over the quoted price. A miserable experience.

The quote was kind of high so we didn't go with them. They were great. They came out pretty quickly. The gentleman was polite and answered all my questions.

Showed up as promised and identified/fixed the problem (unconnected neutral) in short order.
Description of Work: Fixed an outlet issue let from the original construction (1978) which had only come to light when I installed replacement (GFI) outlets on what should have been a totally separate branch.

Even tho the reviews were bad here, I called this company based on word of mouth from someone who used them. They gave me a set price for the work. I had my husband who is an electrical engineer call them back. After the conversation, he scheduled the work. John was on time and acted in a professional manner while being very friendly. While I anticipated the work to take at least an hour, John worked efficiently and was done long before I expected. The price was what was quoted over the phone and there was no pressure to add work. The work included a warranty. John answered all of my questions and assured us if there was a problem, just call. I would definitely call this company again. I highly recommend them. For once I'm glad I listened to first hand knowledge instead of the reviews here.

Don't call them! Don't believe there commitments!
Description of Work: I called ACEs the afternoon of 12/08/2011 and reported that I had electrical problems in half of my house. I had been doing a remodeling project and came across electrical problems that were above my knowledge. They gave a 3-5 that day appointment to me. At 5 pm I had not heard or seen them, called the supposed 24 hour number and got an answering machine--I reported that a technician had not been seen or heard from. There was no curtsey call or anything from them. No service was preformed.

The price that was given was done by a tech over the phone once the owner arrived on site he discovered there was more work that needed to be done at that time the customer was given a new estimate and decided not to move forwarded at that point. We pride ourselves on affordable electrical service.

Before we moved into our new house, we had our electrician do some basic work (installing fans in the bathrooms, wiring the house for Internet access, etc.) upon which he noticed we have a serious problem with our electrical panel. In short, when any appliance anywhere in the house draws power, the lights throughout the WHOLE house - not just that circuit - either brighten or dim. Because our panel is covered by our First American warranty, we contacted them and they dispatched ACES Electric. The ACES electrician spent a few minutes of looking around (literally), then he told my wife we would need to pay extra in order for him to figure out what the problem is. When my wife asked that he actually inspect the problem (since we were paying the $60 service fee), he refused and left (after making some more condescending remarks about how long he's been an electrician, etc.). After a follow-up call with our personal electrician, the ACES electrician hung up the phone and again refused to actually inspect our problem. Now we're stuck paying for a new electrical panel out of pocket, all because the ACES electrician refused to do any actual work.
Description of Work: ACES Electric was assigned by our warranty company, First American, to check our electrical panel for a serious electrical issue we're experiencing. The electrician who visited our home was unprofessional, condescending (we get you've been "doing this for 20 years" and belong to a union -- super), and reported back to First Warranty without actually diagnosing our problem.

Upon arrival at the location the tech looked at the panel and discovered there were many circuits that had been overloaded and improper installed. With the warranty company that the customer has they do not cover improper wiring to be fixed. The customer was given the option to pay for us to fix the issues but did not choose to move forward at that time.

John Posey came out and shut off electric to the house. (Master Elect.) J D Bratt changed out the panel after marking all the circuits. He installed a Cuttler Hammer 42 position 200 amp panel. He did not have a GFI breaker for the panel so he added a external one. J D also installed a new grounding system. County came out and inspected system. OK.
