David was great! He came and explained everything that his team was going to do to remediate our wall of mold in the basement. Once the job was finished, our numbers were minuscule (that is good in the mold business). His team came in, cleaned out the mold, and CLEANED EVERYTHING afterward! I'd give them five stars just for that. I'd recommend Valor Mold to all of my family and friends.

Everyone I spoke to at Valor Mold was extremely pleasant, helpful, informative and genuinely good people. Lois was wonderful in listening to me lament the challenges and was very gracious! Savier and Micky performed the work, and did an excellent job explaining what they were going to do, what they found, and cleaned up expertly (and I'm a neat freak). David performed the after testing and was so nice, he explained everything and walked us through what his finding were. I've never had to have a mold remediation company out before, didn't know what to expect - but so glad I called Valor Mold - they made the process painless! Valor Mold did a terrific job. The end result is no mold and the awful smell that accompanied it is gone. They were on time and professional, each lead tech communicating at the start and end of each day where the project and progress stood. I will use them again.

Very professional and knowledgeable about mold. They removed all the mold suscessfully and gave me suggestions on how to keep humidy level down. They also assisted with trying to determine the cause of the mold and referred me to outside companies which could assist also to ensure it does not happen again. Very impressed with there knowledge. We had known for some time that we needed a mold remediation, but due to the pandemic and uncertainty about in person vs. virtual learning for our kids, it was tough to figure out when to do it. The need became more pronounced when my husband, who has asthma, had to start sleeping in another part of the house because the mold was affecting him so much. The team at Valor kindly worked us into their schedule to perform the remediation the week between our oldest son's summer schooling ended and his fall school term began. (He's autistic and major changes to his schedule/environment can be quite disruptive for him.) Since our only bathroom was part of the containment area, we went to visit family out of state while the remediation was happening. Teddy, Milton, and the rest of the team kept us informed every step of the way with numerous calls, texts, and photos. In the middle of the week, we received word that the demolition required would be much more extensive than we had originally anticipated because there were three different sources of water damage--water heater leak, roof leaks, and improperly fitted/sealed 'Bath Fitter' tile in the bathroom. The team ended up removing the ceilings in all four rooms (including, for safety reasons, the entire contents of our attic!) and most of the insulation and drywall from the exterior walls, not to mention all the faulty tub tiling. As a result, the job took a week longer than expected, but the team met the challenge without sugarcoating or compromise. By the end of the process, our bedrooms and bathroom passed the Instascope mold test with flying colors, and the contractors that we brought in to provide restoration estimates actually commented on how excellent and thorough Valor's work was, right down to the final cleanup. In sum, "Open Book Honesty" and "Utterly Obsessive Cleanup" are not just taglines for the team at Valor Mold. These folks practice what they preach, and we would recommend them to anyone who wants the job done right the first time, period.

If I could give 100 stars I would! My husband and I are both very impressed and completely satisfied with their work. The time they took to explain every action, constant communication, expertise, kindness, and above all thoroughness! We give them the highest recommendation possible. Amazing. 2 months after my husband and I moved into our home a massive mold problem in the improperly finished basement showed itself after the previous owners failed to disclose the issue and tried masking it with a fresh paint job. David's inspection of our basement and his remediation process were the most thorough of all of the companies I had contacted and left me with the best peace of mind. David, his office staff, and his team that completed the project were all incredibly friendly, helpful, timely, communicated any delays are hiccups and tolerated my 9000 questions. 2 years later I reached out to the company for recommendations of waterproofing and basement repair companies and David took the time to call me back discuss options, provide recommendations and answer any questions I had. Though I hope to never have another mold issue I would definitely hire Valor again and recommend them to anyone.

David from Valor was exceptional. He took time to explain the report from the scope assessment test and work with us to identify next steps to address any problems identified. He was patient with all of our questions and answered them by explaining the scientific terms in language that I could understand which I appreciated. It turns out, he was able to isolate the high mold count to an area rug which we promptly removed and disposed of. I highly recommend Valor and would use them again if I ever needed this type of service.

Long job but ended up well. Tough conditions - hipped roof, summer heat, humidity.

We had issues with a small amount of water in the basement months ago. We finally fixed the water issue, so were tearing up the old cork floor to replace it with a new floor. Tearing up the floor brought a musty smell. There was a vapor barrier under the flooring, and there appeared to be green gunk under the vapor barrier which we suspected was mold. We contacted 3 mold remediation companies through Angie's List. One provided a quote over the phone, did not see a need to send someone out and look at the situation. Another company sent somebody out who confirmed the mold and gave a hefty quote for mold remediation. Valor Mold Removal was the last provider to visit. Teddy from Valor looked over the situation carefully, and came to the conclusion that there was no mold! He determined that the green stuff under the vapor barrier was residue from the leftover mastic from a tile floor removed years ago. He also suggested that the mastic might have asbestos, and I should have that looked into (and after some internet research, I found he nailed this too!). He said there was no work for his company to do for mold removal, and there was no bill for his visit. I was so grateful, he saved me a great deal of money! Valor Mold Removal are honest professionals, and that is saying a lot. If I ever suspect mold in the future, I will go straight to Valor, no need to contact anyone else. Very highly recommended!

PRIOR to connecting with VALOR MOLD, we contacted another company. The owner forgot about the appointment, then showed up several hours late, and never got back with us. That was a blessing in disguise! We then contacted VALOR MOLD in Springfield, VA, What a difference. From our initial phone contact to the final inspection, we interacted with multiple quality experts -- office staff, 3-person mold remediation team-- final inspection. Their detailed written contract covered all bases and they were willing to make some minor changes for our comfort. They put up special materials to confine mold spores. They used state of the art materials before, during, and for the final inspection. They handled coordination with a separate company to perform air duct cleaning. All of our phone calls -- several after normal business hours -- were answered by a live person who responded to our concerns. . The owner, David, is a first class mold expert and takes his job seriously. We appreciate all their efforts in resolving this problem. If we ever have another mold issue -- fingers crossed this never happens -- we would not hesitate to call upon VALOR MOLD.

Short Version: PROPER mold remediation, easy scheduling, courteous crew that goes the extra mile, expert mold science nerds, expensive but worth it. Long Version: Valor Mold is the best in the business. We had many companies provide quotes but it was clear that several of them were drainage companies masquerading as mold remediation companies without proper remediation controls in place. Valor Mold was the highest bidder but also the ONLY company that truly understood how mold remediation should be done. Mold spores are like blowing dandelion seeds around when disturbed. Valor Mold gets this and they covered every square inch of my fully finished basement with plastic, complete with barrier walls, zippered doors, and decontaminant areas, using negative air pressure. Removal of contaminated drywall and insulation was very methodical and disposed of in duct taped heavy duty trash bags. Foundation walls and framing that could be salvaged were sand-blasted instead of chemically treated, fully removing the mold. Once all the contaminated materials were removed, air scrubbers were used to clean the air prior to removing the containment areas. Post-remediation real-time on-site testing was state of the art and I did not bother to re-hire the industrial hygienist I had started this project with. We had three rooms remediated and even though they were all reading in the normal range for mold spores, one room was elevated compared to the others. David and his team, at no additional cost, recleaned the room. Still not satisfied, they recommended removal of the carpet (mold spore haven) and more drywall just to make sure there wasn’t a hidden source of mold. We agreed and they did this, and recleaned, at NO additional cost. David, being the mold **** that he is, talked to me at length about the latest mold science, and even tested some other areas of the house for me. He also gave some recommendations on air filters for the rest of the house and guidelines on airflow and humidity levels throughout the year. The scheduling process was seamless and the crew showed up on time each day. One day, the lead technician was sick and personally called me, letting me know who would be in charge that day. The crew was always courteous, friendly, and genuinely did a thorough job. They gave me feedback throughout the process and asked for approval when they thought they would have to remove more material than originally anticipated. They showed me pictures daily of the work performed and where water was coming in. Our primary issue was water pooling around the house and seeping into the foundation walls due to a botched gutter downspout installation into the ground. One of the crew members was so disturbed by this that he went out and purchased downspout extensions for all of my downspouts and installed them at no additional charge, staying late at night because of expected rain. We saw an immediate resolution to the root issue and it has been a great short-term solution while we work on hiring a company to properly install underground drainage. I rarely write lengthy reviews but I was so impressed with this company from start to finish and appreciate all the precautions they took to not expose my family to the harmful mold they were removing.

As a former Property Manager of several multi-million assets, I’ve understood the importance of having mold remediation done correctly for many years. Unfortunately, most companies do not follow essential protocols necessary to protect residents and homeowners. At the recommendation of a good friend who made several costly mistakes before finding Valor (costly both financially and at negatively impacting the health of her young children), I saved Valor’s information to recommend as the best of the best in the mold remediation industry. Now, two years later since I learned about this company, I’ve found myself in the position of needing remediation in the basement of my own home. From the first phone call with Alix to meeting Teddy at Valor, my abnormally high expectations have been met without a doubt. Teddy was unaware when we met that Valor would be the only company I was interested in getting an estimate from because I did my research long ago and followed up again to ensure the quality of their work was still rated as highly as I knew they were before. Teddy then exceeded my expectations when he offered advice and information for me to ensure the work was done properly by any company, even if we did not hire Valor. He showed me what to look for and why it was so important to take specific, spelled out measures because they are clearly passionate about keeping people safe.

The initial consult was thorough and the information provided was educational and invaluable. I appreciated the technician answering all of my questions, providing suggestions and recommendations for how to keep mold away in the future. I do think the price was high but that's reflective of the quality of work. One of the most significant parts of the work they do is that they don't use chemicals, I work in the environmental field and I'm aware of the myriad of things that cause environmental degradation and its for that main reason and their ability to educate that I went with them, despite the cost.

Teddy and David both came out to look at the roof issues we had. They were both very knowledgeable, and didn't try to add more work than needed to be done, but were also cautious considering this was above my daughter's bedroom and she has allergies. The crew did a great job cleaning everything and they brought testing equipment that showed the issue was resolved.

The process from beginning to end in our mold remediation with Valor has been excellent. Their cutting-edge and thorough approach to the mold remediation and then the love and care and professionalism of the staff brought peace of mind to a not so pleasant situation in our home. I contacted Valor Mold for an estimate to do mold remediation and encapsulation of my crawl space, based on the positive reviews I'd found on Angie's List and on the excellent recommendation I'd received from the independent mold inspector I'd hired. They responded promptly to schedule an in-person estimate. Their estimator Teddy was on time, very nice, and answered all of my questions. He was thorough in measuring and examining the crawl space, and provided a detailed written estimate the following working day for the remediation and a rough estimate for the encapsulation. I indicated interest in pursuing both remediation and encapsulation including installation of a dehumidifier, so, their lead technician came to inspect the crawl space to determine what size dehumidifier was necessary, so as to flesh out a final encapsulation estimate. The technician was also prompt and patiently answered all of my questions. I have hired them to do the remediation and encapsulation. They have stayed in touch about what to expect and in scheduling. (I will update or post a new review once completed.) I've been impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. (Note: approximate cost of service includes $0 for estimate, about $14,500 for remediation, and about $15,500 for encapsulation. My crawl space is actually two connected crawl spaces - the crawl space for the original 1950s house and the newer crawl space for the addition.)
