They are good. I've always liked them, I've been using them for years. I plan to use them in the fall, too.

We had some minor problems with them during the service. The man who came out to give us the estimate said that he would write up a contract following our oral go ahead. We had a contract sent out and had not even signed it when they just showed up. I was out walking my dog and when I returned they were out on my lawn. The work was supposed to be done right before the July Fourth weekend, so the man in charge told the crew what they were supposed to do and left for the long weekend. They did not catch everything that he had told them so they did a bunch of things wrong. After the service I was told that the man in charge would get a hold of me the Monday following the weekend and he did not get a hold of me until Wednesday. When he came out he asked me to show him what they had done wrong and he apologized for the miscommunication. He did not offer a discount or any compensation however. The crew who came out was very nice, but they did not do the work correctly. I was not pleased that the supervisor was not out for the work and was not pleased with their overall service. They had the least expensive price, however I am not sure how fair the price was.

Fantastic! After a previous scary experience with some other dudes going door-to-door a while back, I was afraid I'd have to pay out the nose to not have to take a risk like that again. But Frank came by with all the right paperwork including liability insurance AND worker's comp (important! but increasingly rare)...and a VERY reasonable estimate. They worked with me a bit to get into my budget, which was nice. Their scheduler was super-courteous and professional. Their crew was on-time and very careful. I couldn't believe they didn't destroy anything, including the fence underneath and nearby trees! Yeah, there were a few lawn divots, but no big deal. They did a thorough job cleaning up--no cig butts, no nothing! In one day with these guys, I went from totally scared to do anything with tree guys again to super-comfortable.

We have used them in the past, and they always do a great job. I feel that they know what they are doing, and their prices are competitive. We have been very happy with them.

I was very pleased overall with the work performed. I am especially happy with the cost, well under what most other companies charge. The work was done efficiently, all wood was chipped and hauled away, and they did a great job with cleanup. The only problem I had with them was difficulty reaching them by phone. There was a great deal of confusion about when they were supposed to be here, and the woman answering the phone was trying to cover for them, saying one thing, then contradicting herself just moments later, when in actuality she didn't know what was going on. Our neighbor also had a very difficult time getting in touch with them, but for the excellent price and quality of work done, a little inconvenience with communication was worth it! I highly recommend these folks!

After obtaining an estimate, which clearly indicates that the company was to cut down the tree, leave firewood, and grind our stump, the company came out, and cut down the tree, taking our cherry hardwood firewood with them-and not grinding the stump. We told them we wanted the wood, and that they should replace our wood with new wood if they had already disposed of it. They agreed to do so, and told us they would be out later to grind the stump. Three weeks later, upon our second follow up call, they have informed us that they cannot grind the stump out, as it is impossible! (Also, they dropped off "replacement" firewood...a very small amount of wood, which is not Cherry...more insulting than helpful). Please see pictures for a comparison of the tree to the "replacement" firewood.

The task took a day longer than expected, but they did not charge us for the extra day. They were also very careful and they left me with some firewood. They left some clippings behind but that is okay. I would highly recommend them for anyone who needs tree removal.

Best thing about the job was the landscape designer, Glenn Richardson, whose encyclopedic knowledge and sensitivity to our needs must be highly praised by both my wife and myself. Unfortunately, I understand he's since left the company. But we were equally impressed with the AG&E work crew whose speed and professionalism got an amazing amount of work done in what seemed a short time. We would happily use AG&E again.

THEY RESPONDED QUICKLY AT A REASONABLE PRICE. THEY HAULED 500 LB LOGS UP A ROPE, UP A HILL, DAMAGING ONLY THE LAWN THAT WAS NECESSARY.
