We had Ryan's landscaping come and clean out gutters and trim three holly trees. They did a good job on the holly trimming but absolutely made a mess of our gutters. Not only did they blow all the gunk out of the gutter and onto my deck and all over my patio furniture (that took us over an hour to power wash off ourselves!) my gutters are staying full of water now - this was not the case before they came out. So we sent an email asking him to come back and check that the downspout wasn't clogged and mentioned the mess his workers left that we already cleaned and he couldn't be bothered. I specifically asked to have someone from the office call me and apparently that's not the type of service they give. Below is the email response I received and I am APPALLED at the fact that an owner of a company wrote this when all we were looking for was for him to come double check his work and make sure that they didn't blow everything into the downspout. I'm sorry to hear about basement and gutters, but i am not at fault.. Sounds like you need bigger gutters (6" to handle the heavy down pours).. Because of your attitude towards my company, which i don't appreciate, we will not be coming back to fix something we did not break.. How am I to believe this has never happened before.. Sounds like your trying to get something for free and thats not happening.. Ryan's Landscaping Now I'm not sure why he thinks we are asking for something for free! All we wanted was for him to come check the work we already paid for. Not once did I mention anything other than that. What a stellar owner who talks to his customers like that after he's cashed our check for $500. I went up on a ladder since Ryan clearly wasn't going to back his work and it turns out the downspout was clogged and never cleaned. Go find anyone else because no one deserves to be talked to like that.

I used Ryan's during October 2021 for some renovation in my back yard and was very pleased. In late July this year we had a large multi-trunk tree die very suddenly. Two tree service verified it was dead, not dormant, from a blight/spore. Ryan's price was the lowest and, as I was satisfied with the tree trimming he'd done last year, he was hired. Ryan was able to work around my schedule and responded in a timely manner to all of my communications. As before, his team did an exceptional job in all aspects; arriving at the time promised, removal of the tree, being careful around other plantings and the grass, and thorough clean up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ryan.

I hired Ryan's Landscaping to remove a small area of grass to the right of my driveway (about two thirds of the driveway) and add 5 yellow cypress bushes and 7 blue rug juniper bushes. The job also required topsoil and mulch. Ryan completed the work in August 2019. We watered the bushes and we had plenty of rain. Within a few months, two of the yellow cypress bushes turned brown. Ryan sent his installers out to our home to replace the two dead plants on May 2, 2020. However, Ryan did not accompany the installers, so he didn’t see that his installers applied a lot of fertilizer to the new plants. Within one week both of the new plants were dead. (I believe the installers put down too much fertilizer.) We asked Ryan to take back the dead plants and he refused. The job was done less than a year ago and I still have two dead plants (see picture below). In addition, I have left 3 voice mail messages at Ryan's cell phone number and his office number and no one from his company has returned my calls. I certainly regret hiring Ryan's Landscaping. I'm 92 years old and I don't appreciate the disrespectful way in which I was treated by Ryan. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

We came out to replace the dead plants on Friday, 5/8/20 at no charge. We offer a one time warranty, one year warranty on all of our plantings - like most landscaping companies. We did not hear from our client within one week of the replacement install. He called a month after, where he spoke with the office and myself - we spoke several times in regards to this. I offered to come back to replace the plantings - and I would only charge for materials and not labor. I am sorry you are unsatisfied, with our service.

As usual, Ryan and his team did a great job. 1. They regraded my yard and installed 2 drains 2. They removed a dry rock bed, extracted all the stones, filled in the area with dirt and installed sod. 3. They planted 6 trees. 4. They ground down an underground stump and installed new sod. I have been using Ryan and his crew for a couple of years now, and I will continue do so.. I highly recommend him and his team!

We've used this landscaping service before. We bought the house in the summer of 2018 and the yard was in disarray. We'd asked for professional help leveling the side yard and water irrigation with French drains. I believed they's knocked it out of the park. In the middle of the summer the sod took and by the middle to end of the summer we had a green lawn. The second project (Mar 2020) we'd asked them to complete was sod, a tree stump gridding and a stone rock feature in the front yard. Yet again awesome outcome. They were quick and the price was very competitive. Both times they were on time and during the job constantly checked if the progress was to our liking. I would recommend and use Ryans Landscaping service to friends and on future projects. Thanks guys!

After a failed DIY project, I reached out to several landscapers to come finish my job. Ryan from Ryan's Landscaping was very quick to respond to my request and come out to provide an estimate. As a matter of fact, he was the only one to respond in a timely manner at all. Once on the job, I really appreciated that Ryan was present at the beginning and again to close out the day. It was comforting that he takes management seriously. Anytime I had questions or doubts, he never made me feel as though my concerns were invalid. That was especially nice because I had never had work like this done before and felt very unsure about it. When I called the office to express my concern about the sod, which was brown upon delivery, Ryan and Brittany were awesome! I absolutely could not believe my eyes when we came home the next morning to find gorgeous new sod. They didn't question my integrity in the slightest. I feel like plenty of contractors would have denied laying problematic sod and blamed our watering practices. Due to an extra 2.weeks of rigorous watering, the polymeric sand needs to be reapplied. I have no doubts they will take care of that without issue. I would trust Ryan's Landscaping with any job.

Ryan's Landscaping is excellent; highly recommend. They arrived on time with a sufficient number of workers. The workers were professional and hard working. The yard was completed in a day and a half and everything was cleaned up. A neighbor who used another company to do the same work paid significantly more and it took three times as long. Ryan is excellent to work with and provides detailed summary of the work to be done prior to scheduling so that there is no confusion.

At first, we were very pleased with yard clean up so decide to keep a regular mowing service going. Increasingly sloppy work as time went on. Final straw was not taking responsibility when I pointed out the damaged yard (with photos) from using wrong equipment on soaked ground/grass which tore up our yard. Instead of trying to remedy the situation, or make it right to keep our business (granted, we start out "just" as a mowing service customer), they responded by telling us to get service elsewhere. We are -- plenty of others will stand by their work, and they will get our future larger projects as a result.

It went great. The back yard looks nice and tidy again. Ryan added extra mulch, to inhibit future weed growth. He will be back in the fall to replace a dogwood that he planted in April that didn't survive the summer. He stands behind his work and he and his workers are great to deal with.
Description of Work: clean up the garden and get rid of the weeds that had taken over the back yard. Also, remove a tree that had fallen in the back yard.
Excellent. Despite the very rainy weather preceding the scheduled start date, Ryan and his crew showed up the first day and made fast work of the tasks to be done. He consulted with us about progress and ofter some helpful suggestions to improve the appearance and maintainability of the yard. He and his crew removed all the waste and left the area neat and tidy. He provided detailed instructions for maintaining the sod so it would get a good start.

I would never use this company again. Important components of the contracted work were simply not done. I had been away from the area for knee replacement surgery, returning the day before the work was to be done. I had exchanged several emails beforehand with Ryan to obtain clear confirmation of what would be covered in the contract before I signed it and sent the deposit. He confirmed all by email. The day of the job he showed up mid-afternoon to collect payment. Some of the work was fine, and the crew had worked hard. But when I was strong enough to walk behind the house after about a week, I discovered major omissions on one side of the lot -- things like removal of tree trunk sections, boards, and a rose bush -- that were explicitly contracted and confirmed by email, but not done. Supposing they would readily come to correct this, I phoned the office manager, and later sent photos as followup. She confirmed she had followed the phone and email exchange, and agreed that the missing elements of the work should have been included. Ryan called back quite late that afternoon; he was oddly loud, aggressive, and insulting from the outset. Instead of offering to come back to understand and correct the omissions. He proceeded to make various arguments about why he would not complete the rest. First was that they had done "other things." Second was a claim that my son, who had just brought me home after knee surgery, had "walked through with him five times." (Later he inflated it to "seven.") I was indoors, as was my son for most of the time Ryan was here, both working on other matters. So I would have been aware of that, had it occurred. My son was was in no way involved in the contract and also disputes Ryan's assertion. Another excuse Ryan offered was that I had already paid him and added "extra" (which had been intended as a tip for the crew) so he claimed the work must have been fine. I've never had to deal with a business owner so unconcerned with fair dealing or contract fulfillment, or so immature, arrogant, or unprofessional. After more emails, Ryan eventually emailed that he would come back and "look." He arrived a few days later, parking his truck across the end of my driveway, and completely blocking it. After constantly-shifting statements that he would come back and complete one, or another, but definitely not all of the items contracted but not completed, I stated that he should simply complete what he had agreed to in the contract. He angrily stormed off. He phoned back to offer a check for $100 (much less than I'll have to pay to get the work finished, so not acceptable). What kind of business tries to change terms of a signed, written contract after the fact? Summary: incomplete work, volatile and rude, intimidating behavior towards customer. Just don't use him, especially if you are a senior. He subsequently sent a check for $100. I waited for him to change his mind and finish the work, but when it became clear he would not do that, I cashed the check to minimize my loss. I would have been happy to change the review had he completed the agreed work. The $100 did not cover my excess cost to complete, so I am publishing the review. (In the process of tackling the rest of the cleanup, I did find two very reliable and consumer-oriented contractors I can call on in the future, which is at least a small consolation.)
Description of Work: Clearing brush in a wooded lot, removing a rose bush, removing cut sections of tree trunks, removing some boards, cinder blocks and trimming back brush in wooded area behind house.
I have known Ryan for years and have watched his business grow. I have been a very avid gardener in my more physically able days but as I had to let go of more and more of the hobby I love , Ryan has filled in with his expertise. I do believe his service has improved over the years, and his men have been with him a good long while to improve with him. I have had tree work, drainage, seeding, planting or removal of various shrubs , weeding, landscaping for drainage purposes and blowing autumn leaves behind the fence into the woods, etc done by this crew. I speak a little Spanish so we get along well. I always walk around with them when they first come so they will know exactly what to do and before they leave I walk around again to make sure nothing has been missed. If there is a need to go back and get something else done, they do it, or Ryan will send someone else out to finish at the end of the day. They also do snow removal in winter, which is a wonderful thing because I can no longer shovel either. The key to satisfaction with the work is to make the rounds at the beginning with the men , and go out and take a look every now and then, and when it's done to make sure you are satisfied. I do that with anyone who comes to my home to do work. People are not perfect, they are not mind readers and they do not mind a word of help here and there if they have missed something. I am very polite with the men as they are with me. We have a great relationship and I will continue to have Ryan and his crew work for me . Many of my neighbors call on him as well. I give him an A.

I called Ryan's Landscaping to come for an estimate based on the positive reviews. He came over on Friday March 9 to do an estimate. I thought it was odd that he didn't take ANY notes, no pictures, nothing. I wanted a quote to have the right side of my yard regraded to lower the slope and even out the grass. He said it's something he's done plenty of times and would get me the estimate on Monday. Monday came and went. I started calling the office that following week. Talked to the receptionist who said she'd get with Ryan and call me back. Never got a call. Called again, same response. I ended up calling 4 times asking for the estimate. She confirmed my information and email again. Finally on Saturday March 31 I get an email from Ryan that the scope of the project is to large for him. What's funny to me is that he never followed through, and I don't believe the project is too large. I've gotten 4 other estimates and all around $1500. Not that big a project and his website also states they do regrading.

Out of three landscapers we interviewed, Ryan’s was the only one who seemed comfortable when talking with us and knowing what needed to be done. They did such a good job, we are having them back for more landscaping!
Description of Work: We needed some monster sized bushes removed and general clean up.
Ryan is the epitome of professionalism. He is responsive by email and text. He and his crew do quality work. Ryan is a perfectionist which is great for the customer. He trimmed some trees and removed extra bushes without charging us for the aesthetic benefit of the project. He is our go-to landscaper from this point on. We are extremely happy customers.

They are good, they are very good also. They've worked for me for years. I would use them again. I just wanted to give my current landscaping company who cuts the grass an opportunity. They were competitive on their pricing. Their pricing was pretty close, I'll have to admit between Ryan's and between the other company.

My husband and I hired Ryan's Landscaping to do some regrading of our yard due to their excellent reviews and were left incredibly disappointed, felt accused, and largely insulted, not to mention multiple hundreds of dollars poorer. When we noticed that our sprinkler system wasn't functioning following the regrading, Ryan initially told us he would pay half of the cost for the visit of the sprinkler technicians. Ryan then reduced the amount he would cover to $150. Finally, we were told by Ryan that he believed we had this as a pre-existing issue, and that Ryan's lawyer would be in touch with us. After not hearing from the lawyer for nearly two weeks, my husband and I were left paying the full bill for a ~$600 repair for a system that was functioning prior to the regrading. When we shared with Ryan our disappointment in the interaction, we were told to "feel free to tell anyone u [sic] want". I cannot recommend hiring Ryan's Landscaping for any of your needs, as we felt this was an extremely unprofessional way to handle the situation.

Very well. I had new mulch in the flower beds which got covered with the chips and powder when they removed the old walkway. I mentioned it to the worker who advised the owner. I received an email from the owner apologizing and letting me know that they would fix the mulch.....which they did the very next day. The owner checked with me twice to make sure that I was pleased with the remedy and the new walkway. Great customer service and attention to details.
