Truck loads of debris were taken away, several truck loads of mulch were put into the back yard and a truck load of new rich soil was put into the garden area. It looks like a new house, or at least a new house we have not seen under all the overgrowth since 1987. The crew all wore Ryan shirts to be easily identified and were courteous and friendly. And what workers! They left the yard immaculate and can't say enough nice things about their expertise and design knowledge. They have done our mowing for several years and we will continue to recommend and use them for many more. Thank you Ryan's Landscaping for a new yard and house!

s after the job was done that I qualified (after additional work was added to job) and Ryan agreed to provide me a $250.00 credit on my next job (my idea). I'm sure I will use them again and I highly recommend Ryan's Landscaping.

Ryan contacted me almost immediately after I wrote to request a quote. He came out right away and quoted me for the job. I found him very pleasant and easy to deal with. About a week later, a team of 3-5 guys descended upon my house to tame the backyard and also trim the front yard while they were at it. They worked very hard all day long and left at the end of the day with a full truckload of yard debris. Ryan arrived at the end of the day to check that the job was performed and confirm I was satisfied.

Ryan was timely and his crew worked professionally. Cleaned and removed evidence of their work. I received several bids and Ryan's was the most reasonable plus he could handle the repairs to a section of our fence. I would recommend Ryan and will use his services in the future.

Pretty simple and easy job. We had a very large pile of dead branches to clear from our property (20' x 10' section). Ryan came for the estimate and gave us a good price for clearing the wood. The day that was scheduled for the work, his crew completed it on time and to our satisfaction.

Overall excellent service, very responsive and professional. Crew arrived on time and got right to work. Came back a different day for the hedges as planned when I wasn't home. Job was done and completely cleaned up as promised.

Ryan, the owner, was very quick to respond to my request for an estimate. He offered several options and provided a very reasonable price. The work was quickly scheduled and completed within a week. His crew of many removed a lot of rock from our flower beds and numerous overgrown shrubbery and landscaping in backyard. They replaced the landscaping with more appropriate and decorative landscaping. The crew worked extremely hard and was very friendly with a great supervisor and Ryan present through a majority of the work. Outstanding job and highly recommended. So good of a job, I have scheduled them to resold the backyard in a week.

I've been with him nearly 15 years and have never had a complaint. I would recommend him. He gives you a 15% discount if you decide to pay annually.

Ryan responded promptly when I called and came out within a few days for the initial estimate. We had added a deck and there had been a lot of damage to the back yard as a result. We also had a large tree taken out in the front so there was a great deal of debris from that. He suggested we begin with the areas that needed immediate attention since the project was a bit overwhelming, and that's what we did. They moved all of the mulch from the downed tree to the back of the property to help with the run-off caused by construction. They regraded that entire side of the house that goes down a hill and put in sod. On the other side of the house they took up the river rock we had against the house and put it under the new deck stairway that was literally a mud pit. He used weed cloth and a border and filled it with the rock and it looks great. No more mud. We ran into a problem with the existing retaining wall and after a discussion with one of the workman and a phone call with Ryan it was decided they would replace it. He told me the cost, I approved, they got the materials and went to work. They took out an old garden bed, regraded and sodded that area as well and put in a mulch bed around the trees. At the back of the property they installed a large rock swale to help prevent erosion. Ryan was on site for much of the morning getting things organized. There were 10 or 12 men here throughout the day working and they completed the job in a full day, as he said they would. When they were finished they asked me to walk the property with them to see if it met with my approval. I had them make one small adjustment, which they were happy to do. His team was courteous and efficient and at the end of the day the area was clean. Everything looked great. I was very pleased with Ryan's assessment of what needed to be done and how well the plan was implemented. In the fall I will be calling him again to work on the next phase of restoring our yard. J. I really enjoyed the experience with Ryan's Landscaping. Here are some details of my experience: Ryan - Ryan is a pleasure to work with. I'm a type A personality that needs lots of lists and details. Even though Ryan is pretty laid back (don't expect itemized lists or tons of detail), I really enjoyed working with him because he is very friendly, capable and flexible. He followed through on all of my small requests, and even met me at the Garden Center to help me pick out plantings and flowers. He was always accessible via text or email with questions (before and after the job!) as well. Pricing - I received quotes from 3 companies for my job. One company was much higher, the other about the same as Ryan. I chose Ryan's Landscaping because they seemed much more flexible than other companies in terms of what they would do during the project. He didn't nickle and dime for small extras his team did while they were here, but was totally fair with pricing when we decided to add on a small project to the original scope. Process - The team worked efficiently. They removed a huge section of ivy and took down a medium/large sized tree, and place sod in that area, in one day. The team took direction well (both from Ryan and from me), and as I said above, were very flexible. They cleaned up very well and never left any mess behind. Results - I'm SO happy with the finished product. It's truly a combination of what I had envisioned combined with Ryan's recommendations about landscaping best practices. He left me with enough information to care for my lawn and flowers after as well. I'd absolutely work with Ryan's Landscaping again, and have already recommended him to many of my friends!

It was very easy to schedule an appointment with Joe* and he was very professional and suggested some ideas for us to consider when addressing the drainage issues in our yard. He worked with us to find a solution within our price range. He scheduled the work and a large team of workers showed up on time. He supervised the beginning of the work and checked in several times as the work progressed over two days. Most of the work was done as expected and with the desired results. The team was very efficient and finished the whole project in about a day and a half. They were very polite and hard working. However, we have had a lot of rain to test out the new system and the solution devised for the area around the side garage door has made things far worse. Now when it rains, water routinely flows over the rocks and into the garage, flooding the floor and everything inside. I have contacted the company about this problem asking to discuss solutions and have had no response (as of 7/12/13). Additionally, the flagstones in this area of the yard were not secured in any way to the ground and move when we walk on them, creating a dangerous tripping hazard. This was not as we discussed or expected and when we brought it up before the work was finished, it was not rectified. The brick patio that they put a new edge around was not done tightly enough and the bricks are starting to shift and buckle. This created a problem where there previously was none. The underground pipe for the gutters is the only part of this project that, thus far, has not had any problems. I researched Angie's List very carefully and had several estimates before we decided to use this company and they specifically list drainage solutions on their website as one of their services. We are very disappointed with the results and will now need to spend additional money on a new drainage solution so that our garage stops flooding. UPDATE 7/24/13 - Ryan (the owner) came out to discuss the situation today after I followed up again with them by email and phone after I saw their response to my review. I pointed out the problems I described above and explained our frustration with the outcome. Ryan suggested a few things that would not have fixed the flooding problem, they sounded more like temporary band-aids rather than solutions, and he offered no apologies and no compromises. We have so far obtained two estimates from reputable drainage companies, both of whom stated that the original work done by Ryan's Landscaping was not the correct solution to the problem and that it was not graded properly. I suggested to Ryan that he provide a partial refund to help cover the cost of fixing the problem that his company caused and he essentially brought the conversation to a close and abruptly left. I am appalled at the lack of customer service and the failure to make things right. I have subsequently downgraded my initial ratings accordingly. *I had originally written Ed in error. We worked with Joe.

I couldn't be more pleased with Ryan and his team. After scheduling our first meeting, Ryan arrived on time for a walkthrough of my property. He was friendly and professional; he listened to what I wanted done and immediately began making suggestions for how we could handle things. He provided me with a reasonably priced quote shortly after our first meeting and we scheduled the work. Ryan's team quickly came out and tamed the overgrown plants that were taking over my yard; the patio work was scheduled for a few weeks later . Aside from a few day delay due to weather, they arrived as scheduled and immediately got to work. The patio and walkway were done within four days, as promised, and look great. They even helped me haul away some additional junk in the backyard that was left by the previous owners, which was a nice plus and certainly not required. Ryan communicated with me throughout the process to manage my expectations; and he communicated effectively with his team to ensure they did precisely what he and I agreed to. Based on this very positive experience, I asked Ryan to help me select (and eventually plant) some plants/flowers to surround the new patio and to run along the side of the house. Since I'm quite ignorant of any plants and want to ensure whatever is planted is pretty, but low maintenance, Ryan suggested meeting me at a local garden centre to get my opinion on various options. I thought this was really going above and beyond and it was much appreciated. This planting hasn't been done yet, but I'm awaiting his quote for job #2 and am very excited to see the finished product! I would absolutely recommend Ryan and his team for any work of this kind.

Ryan personally came and did the walk through with us. We explained our desire for curb appeal in the front and went over some ideas for the back. He provided options and recommendations. Initial meeting time was for a Sunday at 3:00 pm but was running late and did call for a 3:30 appt time instead. He provided a reasonable estimate and states he could do the work on or about 14 May. On 14 May Ryan's crew came and did an outstanding job. When we returned home from work the curb appeal was amazing and the back yard flower beds looked the best since we bought the home. The rose garden still needed some additional river rock and Ryan came back at about 6:00 with the required river rock and finished the job, The river rock just make the rose garden pop...really give it life. The personal attention provided by Ryan was first rate. Ryan's Landscaping did an outstanding job and we would definitely use them again!

I called to schedule an estimate and the receptionist said that Ryan would call me to set up the time. I didn't hear back so I called them again a few days later. I should've just moved on, but I worked with Ryan in the past so I decided to call again. He finally got back to me and we scheduled an visit to my house on 4/18 at 12:30pm. I took time from work to meet him and he never showed up. There was no call to cancel/reschedule and no call afterwards from Ryan to apologize. I called and spoke to the receptionist and she apologized and said he was too busy to make the visit. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable.

We have been pleased with the service we receive from Ryan and his crew members. Many of the crew are Spanish speaking and Ryan can speak fluently with them. He makes sure that they understand the work they need to perform before they begin any landscaping job. Ryan personally comes out to inspect the property, talk with the homeowner about the job to be performed, and he is very prompt with communicating with you via phone or email. He is a personable, nice man.

It was excellent and I would definitely recommend them to other people!

We were really excited to work with Ryan Landscaping given the positive reviews on Angies List but our experience was terrible. We had a 1030 am appointment for an estimate for a new patio and my husband took time off of work to be there. We got a voicemail indicating they were running late and asking whether we could accomodate a 1200 appointment. This wasn't ideal given that he had already taken time off work - but we agreed to do the estimate 90 minutes later. 1200 rolled around....then 1230 - no shows and my husband had to get back to the office. We never recieved a phone call to notify us that they were running late - again. Ryan Landscaping never showed or called to explain - so unprofessional and unreliable. Needless to say, we will not be using their services.

There was no service provided, no appointment kept, so there is no way to tell how it would have gone.

Mr Ryan Minton, President emailed me back and said:" Thank you for contacting Ryan's Landscaping through Angie's List. Unfortunately, we are not currently servicing the Woodbridge area. We appreciate your email. Thanks!" I was not impressed by this response, particularly with the amount of work potential I had, and very disappointed my part if the county was excluded from his service area. Too bad...

They were very easy to deal with. Joe coordinated the job closely and asked questions to make sure the work was done according to my wishes. They were able to schedule the job quickly and come on time. The mulch was of good quality and probably more than they charged me for. The crew spread the mulch and trimmed the bushes very professionally and cleaned up so that no mess was left behind.

The phone call requesting an estimate was brief, but to the point. Ryan came to look over the property and left while I was occupied with another contractor inside the house. I spoke with him a few days later and was given an estimate over the phone. Specificaly, the grading issues could be addressed, with a discount for leaf removal and mowing, since they would already be here. I agreed and we set the time for 1PM on a Wednesday. I arrived home at noon to find them already at my home and hard at work. They ultimately had 3 trucks and 8 men working, as it was a rare winter day in the '60's outside - perfect weather for outdoor labor. They were at it with leafblowers and mowers, diggers and mulchers for close to 5 hours. They did an amazing job. Recommended.

My friend recommended the company. Ryan, the owner came out and gave me an estimate and did the work the same week. His pricing was reasonable and in-line with other estimates. His crew arrived on-time and had the job done in a few hours. Ryan stopped by and confirmed everything was done properly. They cleaned up, hauled everything away, and even put in a wood step by my gate. Great, easy process. Will use them again for mulching and to clean-up leaves in the fall.

They were exceptional. Ryan always come, gives us ideas and pricing. All of their work always looks good. We haven't had any trouble with the landscaping not surviving.

I have been using Ryan for over 8 years to annually provide landscaping services including new plantings, sodding, mulching, erosion control, pruning, etc. Ryan always has good design suggestions and input. His pricing is very reasonable. He's responsive, professional,dependable and his crews do great work. Ryan always checks the quality of work and touches base with me to make sure I'm satisfied. I wish all contractors performed at this level.

Contacted Ryan and several other firms (found on Angie's List) by email. Was hoping he would work out given that he was close and had great reviews. Ryan was one of the first to respond - we set up time for him to come out. We explained what we wanted and he gave us his ideas and approximate cost - following up with a proposal. We checked others, but to be honest really liked Ryan. Had a few more questions and he had no problem coming back out and providing more detail. We signed and scheduled work. His team were very professional and friendly - they came out as promised. Work took just under three days - day one was removal of existing stoop, sidewalk and plants. Day two was planting and sidewalk installation. Day three wrapped everything up. We used stone for the sidewalk, stoop, and planter walls - looks great. Plants have held up. Given our experience, we switched our leaf removal to Ryan - his team made two visits this fall. Better price and service than our last company. Plan on using Ryan for spring clean up and another project.
