R M Banning Roofing

Overall, excellent! It's been a year, and the gutters have held up wonderfully. We paid a little more for covered gutters, and hey have been absolutely maintenance free. We had the estimate and within a few days, an appointment to replace the old gutters. They came and went without any mess or problems. My aging sheepdog was the only supervision in the yard, and he appeared to be happy as well! The great quality has performed well this past year, and would use this company again in the future!

My wife and I were very concerned initially when we started looking for a contractor since we had heard the many horror stories about contractors not showing up and homeowners having to deal with contractors that do not listen to what the homeowner wants. When we first contacted RM Banning about a new roof for our house, they listened and did not try to sell us something we did not want. When we had any questions or concerns, they responded to our concerns and worked to come up with a solution. I cannot stress enough how important communication can be for any project especially when it involves your own home. If you do not have a good line of communication, you feel left out and at the mercy of the contractor. This was not the case with RM Banning. Our house needed a new roof, gutters, siding, and all new windows. When we initially contacted RM Banning, it was to get a price quote for a new roof. In the end, we ended up having all of the work done by RM Banning because throughout the whole process you worked with us to put together a proposal that allowed us to get all the work done at a great price and completed in a timely manner.

Overall we are very happy with the results. Earlier on we did have some discrepancies between what we asked the sales agent for and what was reflected in our contract (issues like the color of the roof, the width of the trim, the finish of the siding). I think this probably happens any time you ask for something that deviates from the building standards that contractors typically expect, so it's just important as with any contract to triple-check it and to be there for the initial walk-through. The first part of the process was handled through one of Rich Banning's sales agents. It did take a while to get the contract signed and the workers on site, but once they were on site they finished up with the roof in two days. Once the siding guys got started, it was finished in about 2 days, and our gutters were put up in a couple of hours. Rich came out to check in on the roofing and siding jobs at the beginning, middle and end. There were a few things that we did have to make sure were completed the way we wanted, so it's helpful to be there yourself throughout the process. Rich made sure to send out a crew member to perform additional clean-up after the primary work was completed, which we appreciated. We ran into some extra costs with our roof -- because of the age of our roof, we ended up having to replace all of the plywood underneath -- this was not entirely unexpected, but it did make me a little nervous that we would run into unexpected costs as well on the siding, but our estimate pretty much reflected our final payment. In the end, we got what we wanted, our house looks fantastic, and the price was very reasonable. All of our neighbors have commented on how great our house looks, and we would definitely recommend RM Banning again.

Project couldn't have gone any smoother! Within one week of signing the contract, Rich and his crew were starting our project. A day before they started, Rich had a dumpster delivered to our driveway. He made sure to put down plywood to protect the asphalt. I thought this was a nice touch. The next day our existing roof was removed and the insulation and first layer of bitumen was put down. By the end of the following day our new roof was more or less finished. A small crew returned once more on the last day to install our new skylights, finish some flashing work and clean up. The president of the company, Rich Banning was on site every day from start to finish. He and his crew took great care to protect our house, driveway, and yard from damage during the project. Somebody was always available to answer any questions we had, and it was obvious to me that Rich and his crew take great pride in their work. A new roof is a huge expense and we found Banning's price to be very reasonable, all things considered. We love our new roof and would recommend RM Banning for any roofing job. I can't wait to have this company replace our windows soon!

They responded to my request for a quote within 1 day. Bradley Cleveland came out for the estimate and thoroughly inspected the roof. We were given a quote within 2 business days. Mr. Cleveland even constructed a small sample piece of roofing to show what the repair would look like. After signing the contract the work began within 3 business days. Mr. Cleveland and the crew were always courteous and professional. He was always on site to ensure that the job was done properly and any unknown issues were resolved upon discovery. They cleaned up every day prior to leaving. We were very satisfied with the job that was done and would recommend them highly.

We are repeat customers. We were pleased last time and are just as pleased with this experiece. We started the process by receiving several estimates for the roof replacement and selected RM Banning based on our previous good experience and the fact that they were able to provide a quality job for a lower price. When we compared the other estimates we decided to select RM Banning and are very happy that we did. The roof was scheduled and completed within a few weeks. The job took 2 days and then an inspection and pictures of the work were provided upon completion.

After a few months of dealing with my insurance company and a few roofing contractors I was not satisfied with how things were going. I was telling the story to a friend and he recommended that I call Rich Banning. Rich had put the roof on my friend's parents home and several others in their neighborhood. I called Rich the next day and I am so glad that I did. He provided an estimate for my roof that beat the price of the all other roofers I had bids from. Not only that but Rich was providing a better quality shingle than the others. Most importantly though, Rich helped me out tremendously in dealing with the insurance adjusters. Through his effort and assistance I was able to get my insurance company to pay what I believe to be a fair settlement. The crew who performed the work were all friendly and professional. The roof and all the repairs took a day and a half to complete. Rich personally inspected the work and made sure that I was completely satisfied with everything. The roof looks great and is a huge improvement to the appearance of my home. The shingle color that Rich recommended goes perfect with the brick on my house and I have had compliments from several neighbors how much better the house looks. I recommend RM Banning without hesitation and I will use them in the future

On September 28,2013, a large tree limb fell onto the roof of my home. Fortunately,the limb remained on the roof but the impact was so great that six trusses were broken and caused the collapse of one ceiling and impacted many ceilings on the top floor of my home. Needless to say, it was very traumatic for me. I called many roofers, but none were able to help. I happened upon The Banning Company via the net. I noticed they were not only a roofing company but also general contractors. The first person I spoke with thought they could help and was so personable that I took the step to let the company come out and view the project. I also researched their Angie's List rating which was superb. Mr. Banning assessed the situation and sent his foreman, Joon Kim, who came to my home twice before deciding this was a job they could undertake. Mr. Banning was extremely responsive by email and phone and stuck with me despite delays caused by the insurance company and the structural engineer. Once I could give them the green light, they worked extremely hard to get my home back under roof and the interior repaired. We were getting into December and Mr. Banning understood that bad weather and snows were a real possibility. I cannot say enough about the foreman, Joon Kim, who got the permits, trusses ordered, and tradesman lined up so everything was completed in a timely manner and without a hitch. When you see your roof completely opened up ( photo attached) and the sky visible it truly gives one pause; but I never doubted that the job would be completed and completed correctly. Mr. Banning gave me that confidence as did the people he had doing the work. I have recommended the company to several friends. Many neighbors remarked at how well the roof repair was executed. They also were impressed by the quality of the interior work when they came inside. I would be happy to have anyone inspect the roof and/ or provide a reference. That is how strongly I feel about the Banning Company. Thank you Mr. Banning for your responsiveness, concern and understanding that this was traumatic. You, Joon and your colleagues made a bad situation have a very happy ending. This was a really big, complex job and the Banning Company executed the restoration superbly. I am a very pleased and grateful client.

R.M. Banning did a great job estimating the materials and time required and Steve Ford, the estimator, took the time to make sure that we had the correct siding and that the steps required would get the job done correctly. Despite a mistake on our part, the company made corrections and got the roof on relatively quickly. The siding took a little longer to complete, but made a big difference. They also did the painting of the gable trim and the gutters. When some paint dripped onto the siding, they fixed the problem without a discussion. I have used them on and off for 10 years. HIgh quality work and personal service. I would highly recommend them.

They did a good job. They had to replace rotting wood and they put some metal reinforcement on the gutter. They were also reasonable priced. They were very helpful and very professional. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Negatives: My first issue is the cost that was quoted at the time of inspection was over the top. The contractor told me that he can caulk my window for 350.00 dollars. Who pays 350 dollars to caulk a window? He informed me that this is what the boss has told him to charge. Secondly, I asked if I could get a quote for replacement of one of my sliding doors and after taking measurements and photo's he said the company would send me the quotation. No follow up was sent and no quotation. To top it all off, I called the company today as I was billed 85 dollars for the inspection. There site clearly states free estimates. The person who I spoke to should not be dealing with customers. His tone of voice was rude and condescending and I will never do business with this company again. Positives: The person who came to my house was a very profesional and provided me with tips on how to rectify my issue.

I cannot speak highly enough of this man. He paid very close attention to detail and was very particular. He was tremendously devoted to doing a quality job. It was also done in a timely fashion. All in all, the whole job was completed in about two weeks and the cleanup was immaculate. The crews were pleasant and a pleasure to have around.

Rick provided thorough estimate with options. Team did an excellent job replacing & deck panels and sistered joists site as required. New flashing & shingles installed in two days. Great job. Clean up perfect. Rick cam back to ensure our satisfaction.

We love the roof - it makes the house look so much "younger". Banning Team and Rich were great. Ran into some bad weather which made everyone nervous, but we got through it. Dry-rot of the plywood increased the cost significantly. This didn't get realized until the shingles were removed. But it had to be repaired and now the roof is level and in great shape. Clean up was a little less than we' d expected. But overall, the Banning team was fast, professional, and did a great job. We'd use them again.

The owner can out to look at the damaged siding, then the next day his technician came to check the color to match what was there in color and style of the siding. Once I accepted the proposal, the workman came when I was told they would be there and all the work was done in a professional manner . All scraps were removed and the siding looks great and matches the rest of the house perfectly. I am very pleased with the results.

We were 100% satisfied with R.M. Banning's work. We used this Company 5 years ago when we needed roof and gutter work for our new addition. Because of our prior positive experience with Banning, they were the only company we called when we had storm damage from this summer's derecho. We called for an estimate and we were provided with a prompt and detailed proposal. Banning provided different crews for different parts of the job (shingle roof, gutters and copper roof) and each crew was professional and hard working. The most impressive work was the copper roof over the bay window. Their craftsmanship is outstanding. We would highly recommend this company.

Rich Banning and his crew were phenomenal. Mr. Banning is professional, honest and someone I would trust implicitly. There was no high pressure sales pitch, no pressure to sign after the first 10 minutes, no price that was "only good for tonight", etc. His crew was punctual, polite, efficient and thorough. I do alot of homework before I search for contractors. He was knowledgeable. He cared about doing it the right way and cared about was required. His price was better than everyone Else's that stood out. His crew that did the job was large and got the roof on quickly. They worked efficiently and hard and worked daybreak to sunset. They got the roof on fast. The leader of the crew made sure everything was done right. Richard Banning president of company came out to check to see if things were going well. The owner had a hands on policy. He got up on the roof and checked everything. It was alot more of a personal service I received. The crew and group leader and president were all really nice. They were flexible, because I am doing remodeling and worked with me. If I had a close friend that needed a roof put on I would recommend Banning.

I was extremely happy and satisfied with the roofing and gutter replacement work performed by R M Banning Roofing. They did an outstanding job with very reasonable cost and very quick turnaround. Rich Banning and his team are very professional, honest and reliable. The work was done with efficiency and perfection. Not only was the roof entirely replaced, but they replaced rotten wood , flashing along the chimney and vents, and replaced 2 sky lights. They cleaned up thoroughly after completion of the job and followed up with me after the job was done to ensure that there were no problems. I am planning on using them next year to redo the siding of my house as well. Mr. Banning came to our home along with one of his employees to take detailed measurements. He advised us on the type of roof we needed, including all ventilation options and material choices. He has a good eye for color choices and we are so pleased with how the new roof and gutter colors look with our brickwork. The crew did a super job and the foreman made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. I had a couple of questions during and after the job, and Mr. Banning came out himself to check things out. He came out for a final inspection to make sure I was totally satisfied. A month before our service we had severe roof and siding damage to our home. We had looked at other contractors but none we as curtious and priced as fairly as RM Banning Roofing. The was completed quickly and neatly as possible and the contractors always showed up on time. I enjoyed working with them and I look foward to having them do my gutter work in the next few months.
