RM Banning did a tear off of two layers of shingles, replaced some damaged plywood, and replaced my 5" gutters with larger 6" gutters. The roofing job took 1 long day and the gutters took a few hours on the second day. The work was done professionally and I'm happy with the outcome. The crew arrived on time and worked a very long day. I have a large roof and they sent a large crew. They had obviously worked together because they had a rhythm about them. They were conscientious about cleaning up my yard of debris from the old roof. The next day the gutter crew showed up and quickly hung the new gutters, making sure they were angled appropriately. They also connected them with screws to the plastic runoff tubes I had on each. The previous gutter company never did that. After the roofing job, a representative stopped by to review the work with me. I had a couple of items I wanted done and they were completed quickly. The owner, Richard Banning, stopped by after the gutter job to also review the work (going up on the roof to inspect it) and to be sure I was happy. My only complaint is that the owner told me I would receive the limited manufacturer's warranty if I completed a review of the job on Consumer Checkbook. They did reduce the job cost by the amount ($28) of a membership on Consumer Checkbook. I felt as though I had paid for the warranty, so I'm not comfortable with this requirement in order to get what I paid for. As it turned out, I received the warranty information from the company even though I have not completed the review on CC.

From start to finish my experience with R. M. Banning was great. The crew arrived on time and worked diligently until the job was completed. They thoroughly cleaned up after the job was finished. Overall Mr. Banning operates a top notch business!!!

Everything went extremely well. Work was completed expeditiously and perfectly. Crews were really great and very hard working. All crews made sure they cleaned up all debris, nails and work materials. Inspectors came out during work to check on progress on several ocassions and always checked me to ensure I was satisfied with progress and work. I would strongly recommend R.M.Banning to anyone who needs roof, siding and gutter replacement. Owner came out to personally inspect work once job was completed. Twenty-seven year old house looks brand new!!

Excellent job on everything. From the first phone call to the company, a representative was sent right away to access damages from hail storm. Once all repairs were approved by the insurance company, Banning Co. came out and took care of all repairs and replaced roof and gutters immediately. All workers were very professional. Could not ask for a better crew.

Mr. Banning came to provide the estimate and went up on the roof as part of his initial visit. I received a call back from the office to see if I had any questions after receiving the estimate. It was several months after the estimate was given until we decided to have the work done. The cost remained the same. The only unknown was if or how much plywood may have to be replaced. The crew that came to do the work was courteous and professional. The work took an extra day because of the plywood that needed to be replaced. The job ended up taking 21/2 days. They cleaned up after themselves after each day of work. Mr. Banning came once the job was completed to make sure we were satisfied with the results. We are pleased with the look of the new roof and would recommend him to others.

Banning principal and crews responded quickly with estimates. Beat three contracts for roof, gutters, and skylights repair and replacement. Always completed on time. Pleasant to work with. Fixed minor defect at no extra cost. Excellent company. I'm fully satisfied!

Rich Banning came out and evaluated my roof, gutters and siding and determined that there was roof and gutter damage from the hail storm which occurred in June 2015. He suggested I contact my insurance agent to see if I should file a claim. The insurance agent came out to the house and agreed with the assessment and issued a check on the spot. Mr. Banning brought out samples of shingles and explained the process to restore the roof as well as the options which were available to us. Another gentleman came out the next day to determine the color of the gutter system to be replaced. Materials were ordered and delivered within a couple of days. Mr. Banning called to let us know ahead of time that the delivery was scheduled. Materials were delivered on time without a hitch. After a couple of days of rain Mr. Banning informed us of the start date and everything was done efficiently and the workers were very careful to not make a mess with the demolition of the roof as we have a pool in the back yard and didn't want any debris to fall into the pool. The day after the roof was completed the men came out to install the gutter system and did an outstanding job with the installation and cleaned up any and all materials and debris. RM Banning Roofing was very professional and considerate of our needs and we would recommend this company to everyone.

Mr. Banning initially quoted both jobs in mid-August. Although we didn't start out in the best of terms, Mr. Banning provided a good and detailed quote. Had it not been for his stellar reputation and excellent quote, we might have parted ways there. However, I wasn't about to let a misunderstanding stand in the way of good business. We talked and worked out our issue. After a month of learning more, reviewing another quote, and meeting with Mr. Banning, we signed on the dotted line for him to replace the roofs on both properties. Within about 2 weeks (as promised), he was ready to start on our jobs. He was able to get the townhouse done in one day; he had a large, professional, hard working crew. Because of weather it took another 10 days before he could get to our house, but they knocked it out in just over 2 days once the weather cooperated. The only minor complaint I would have is that there could have been a little better communication on a couple issues. However these were very minor. The work was professional and looks great. I highly recommend Mr. Banning and his company and will be discussing future work with him.

They arrived within a week of when I accepted their proposal. They would have arrived sooner, but worked me in between rain storms. Crew arrived and started work with all materials needed. They talked to me about the job to ensure they were going to do the work I had contracted for. They worked steadily and completed the work plus clean-up in one day. I watched them throughout their process, and noted they used new materials, including replacing two pieces of structural wood due to rot that were not part of the quotation. All materials were applied correctly. I watched them lay the membrane down on top of the wood before applying shingles. They used four nails per shingle, an industry standard. Clean-up was done well, and both workmen were pleasant and easy to talk with.

Mr Banning indicated that the size of my gutter installation of 60' of K6 6" gutters and 3x4" downspouts was not something he would be interested in doing as the job was too small and he declined to offer an estimate. Nevertheless, his receptionist was very professional and called me back within 45 minutes of my contacting them for a quote. So if you have a small job then perhaps it is better to find a small company to provide you service. Angie's List should note that this provider has a minimum job size -- although this was not stated.

Overall we are thrilled with the results. In addition, we were happy with the entire process. As background, we contacted several companies about replacing the worn skylights but none were as knowledgable or experienced as RM Banning. Multiple companies noted that the custom work would be "too complicated." RM Banning was enthusiastic about the challenge; he showed up on time for appointments; and was professional. RM Banning presented us with a detailed plan, which included a timeline for the work. This was in stark contrast to another business, who wanted to cut out the existing skylights, cover the hole with plywood and then figure out the supplies needed. The difficult project was completed in three days by a professional and hardworking crew lead by Kevin. They arrived on time, cleaned up everything at the end of the day, and were courteous. The skylights look great and we are sure that they will last for a long time.

We contacted several roofing companies, including RM Banning Roofing Co., about getting an estimate for a roof replacement on our home. We have dealt with contractors before, so in our inquiry, we included criteria for what we are looking for in a contractor (non-smoker because we have a 10-day old baby, no pressure sales, and we're paying cash so no need to discuss financing options), so as not to waste their time or ours. We received the following response, which we considered unprofessional at best: "We are a professional corporation with over thirty years? experience and do realize that customers have varying needs from time to time. However, your e-mail was not well received. Our estimators do not smoke, we do not use day laborers and after careful consideration, we have decided that you are not be the type of customer we choose to work with. We will not be contacting you further and we wish you luck on your project." Four days after sending this reply to our inquiry, someone else in the company called to scheduled an estimate. The person who called was polite and friendly. When I mentioned their email, she insisted that they had not contacted us before until I read the email to her and told her who the email was from. Either they have a rogue employee or poor internal communication regarding responses to inquiries. We were very unimpressed with their initial professionalism and would not use this company going forward. With all of that said, we cannot comment on the quality of their work, or the competitiveness of their bid because we did not work with them.

Technical Steve Ford (as well as the office "girl") were great. He was personable, explained what he found, wrote an estimate to do the work, and did the work while I took out-of-town family members to airport for European vacation. (I didn't need to be there as he did work.). The $85 leak detection fee was waived. They sent me the bill for agreed upon price. I didn't get other estimates Banning had put on the roof in 1999. Everything seems expensive there days but I really wasn't upset by the price. 2 yr warranty 3 day apptment.

I met up w/ Steve and he was amazing! I called RM Banning because I hired another roofing company to fix the leak. They were unsuccessful. Steve got me a quote right away, stopped by my house on a Saturday to grab a sample of my shingles and gutter for matching and the following Monday my roof was fixed. The shingles and gutter matched the existing materials perfectly. The quality of work is outstanding and the price was very reasonable.

RM Banning did a great job replacing our roof and 2 skylights. When Mr. Banning came out to do the estimate I casually mentioned that I would like to have a piece of siding replaced that had a hole in it. So while our roof is being replaced he sent one of his crew members out on a wild goose chase to find the exact color and style of siding so that they could replace the piece of siding... at no charge! This is an example of the Above and Beyond service you will get from RM Banning. They were professional, quick to communicate and update, great craftsmanship and excellent prices! We are going to use them again to replace the gutter guards! I would recommend without hesitation!

On 3/31 a storm caused a portion of our siding to come loose. I contacted the company on 4/1 and an in-person estimate was provided on 4/2. The repair was completed on 4/3. Because the siding was still attached (barely) there was an urgency in having the work completed. During the estimate, I explained that we recently purchased our home, and while we would like to replace the siding in the future, it's not in our budget at this time. At no time was I pressured to replace the siding, or for any other work other than the scope of the repair. We will however use R.M. Banning when we do replace our siding. Great service!

Very responsive - we are selling our home and needed this done after the home inspection. Found the siding and replaced it quickly. Everyone at Banning is very professional and accommodating - very pleasant experience to work with this company and would highly recommend them.

The technician arrive on time, assembled the siding materials stored in the garage and reviewed with me the areas where he needed to replace the damaged siding. When I returned home that day, the work was satisfactorily completed, the work areas were cleaned up, and the invoice was forwarded to me. All went well and with the repairs, and we do not anticipate further damage to the siding or the structural materials under the repaired sections.

Banning was quick to respond and schedule someone to come do the inspection. They actually came the very next day after I contacted them. The technician who came, Steve Ford, was very professional, courteous, and took the time to explain what he would do. I told him what the gutter cleaner had said and that I had noticed the lip of the roof raised a bit on one edge. Steve conducted a thorough inspection and told me that although that edge was a bit raised, it didn't pose a problem. He further stated that he had inspected the entire roof and found no issues. He went so far as to let me know that the roof looked like it still had about seven years of life to it. He could have tried to sell me on repairs or on a new roof, but he did not. He was honest and took the time to answer my questions. Banning is a company I would definitely come to in the future for work. Based on this transaction, I would trust them to do the right work needed and to be complete professionals.
