R M Banning Roofing

Following a damaging windstorm during the weekend I knew all of the roofing contractors would be beseeched with calls on Monday. When I got through to RM Banning on Monday the receptionist said they had had a 100 phones calls for service and no one would be available to come out until next week. When I explained that it was forecasted to rain tomorrow afternoon and my roof and siding were exposed and susceptable to significant water damage the receptionist called around and was able to shuffle schedules to get the tarping done before it rained. She easily could have said I'm sorry but that is what we have. She went above and beyond to help and that kind of service will keep me as an RM Banning customer for the long term.

The president of Banning answered the phone on Sunday and they arranged to come on Tuesday so we could fix the roof before a second storm came in later that night. They showed up promptly at 7:45am and went up to the roof...had all the patching done by noon...including extra caulking and making sure all the flashing was tight. Totally impressed by their professionalism, work ethic and ability to get the job done quickly.

Hired them for a small siding repair after my the Noreaster. Great to deal with. They even did a free inspection of my roof. I would definitely hire them again.

The administrative office and the roof repair technician were both very responsive and polite. The technician provided pictures of the damage that needed to be repaired, and then pictures of the completed work.

Great. They came out on the coldest day of the year and completed the project. I was blown away by their responsiveness, I think if we had picked another company we'd still be waiting for a non cold, non snowy day to get the crew out here.

They were able to send an expert craftsman who spent a great deal of time diagnosing our problem. He was honest and really wanted to help solve our problems for the short and the long run. The office was just as responsive.

Jason shows up, made estimate and promised to come and get it fixed on Friday of the week. Ended up no show and only called in late afternoon that he needs to postpone the work to the next morning. The next day is still a no show and wouldn’t even return the call after multiple inquiries at 11, 2 and 4. I even called the office but the manager was not helpful at all and merely indicates that he doesn’t know the schedule or whereabouts of his employee. Jason finally gets back to me after almost 2 weeks later and there is just no way I’m gonna let someone so unprofessional to work on my property. Stay away.

RM Banning has been great! We've worked with them twice, once to have a small piece of the gable raking replaced and most recently a full replacement of our roof. They were able to provide a detailed estimate within 2 days and due to a last minute cancellation of another project completed my roof replacement in less than a week after signing the work contract. The entire planning and installation process as able to be completed over the phone and email enabling the project to be completed without my wife or I having to take time off from work. RM Banning's price was also noticeably lower than estimates my neighbors had received for this roof replacements. They were good they traveled a good ways to come put the solar panel in.

Steve was very experienced and professional. On his inspection visit, he brought the correct length ladder with him to access the roof (not all roofing companies do this!!). He confirmed our hypothesis and issued a reasonable estimate on the spot. An unscrupulous roofer might have tried to convince us to replace the entire roof. The only other item we asked to be done was to renew the caulking on the flashing above the bay window. Though it was mid-winter by this time, Steve returned during a particularly mild stretch of weather in February and performed the work in a matter of a few hours. While he was accessing the roof, he even banged in a few gutter nails that had come loose. We are delighted with the work because we've not had any leaks since then. We recommend R.M. Banning without reservation.

I got 4 estimates. I was very impressed with the technician from R.M. Banning Roofing company. Out of the 3 other companies he was the first to identify the issue. (my insurance company said it was damage from the sun prior to the estimates). The others told me it could not be from the sun and they had never seen that type of damage before. R.M. Banning gave me an estimate and followed up with samples from the original siding manufacturer. He was very professional and reasonable. When I scheduled the repair it was done that same week and completed within 2 hours. I am very pleased with the project and would definitely hire them again.

Banning was professional, courteous and helpful. They quickly came out to access the job, and then just as quickly scheduled to perform the job. They came when they said they would and the price quoted was what they said it would be. The job was small, but not too small for them and they completed it quickly and professionally. Best of all they were willing to work with me considering I don't live in the area but had to contract with them to go to do this job at the house where my mentally disabled brother lives. They knew to contact me, and were even willing to bill my brother's trust even though they had never done business with me before. They were very understanding of my situation. I will definitely be calling them again next time.

It could not have gone better. Estimate was accurate and timely. Work was done, on time and on budget. New roof looks great. All work and clean up was done professionally.

They were extremely responsive and professional. They were there within 2 hours of the first call to check out the damage. After the raccoon was evicted from the attic, they were back exactly at the appointed time and did the job in a workman like manner. They had replaced the roof in the first place and were just as professional then. We would hire them again.

No clue how these folks have such great reviews. Our experience was not good. We waited for days after having them come out to look at the raccoon damage to get our estimate, calling/emailing several time before finally getting a verbal estimate (nothing in writing). We'd also asked for a roofing estimate since it was something that had been on our list of needs anyway and something we thought we might as well do and accomplish at the same time as this repair. They gave us an $8000 estimate verbally, but the estimate in writing came to $11000 with no explanation as to why. Overall, the customer service or lack thereof gave us no confidence in their abilities; the change in estimate only confirmed that.

After the recent wind storms, a small portion of my roof was damaged. I searched Angie's List for recommended companies in my area, the first few I called were up front and told me they were only doing full roof replacements at that time. RM Banning seemed to be highly rated and agreed to come by for an estimate. Although only ~1/8 of my roof was damaged, RM Banning gave me an estimate for a full roof replacement. My insurance company did not agree, but did agree to replacing the full slope that was damaged. When I told this to RM Banning and asked for a revised estimate for just that slope, they disappeared on me. After close to two weeks of trying to get a hold of someone at RM Banning about the revised estimate, I was told that they would not be interested in this job. I was given a (false) excuse about my rear deck being "unsafe" (My stair railing was damaged in the storm, the rest of the deck is fine and stable). Basically they decided that is they couldn't have the whole roof replacement covered, the job was too small for them. I would have at least appreciated it if they were honest with me when I first told them that the full replacement was not going to be covered, rather than avoiding me for two weeks. On a separate note, I found a great company that replaced 1/2 my roof for $3k. This makes me wonder how padded the $12 RM Banning quoted was.

I was selling my townhouse and the roof came up during the home inspection. I called several companies and received comparable quotes from each, but decided to go with RM Banning. I'm glad I did. Dan, who estimated the job for me, was knowledgeable and gave me an approximate time frame for completion (1-2 weeks). This was an important aspect since closing was scheduled to happen in 3 weeks. After I put down my 1/3 deposit, they ended up having am opening in the schedule and were able to replace the roof within a week's time. The work took less than a day and the crew worked well. They took pictures and provided me with the invoice & warranty documentation I needed for closing. Invoicing and everything else behind the scenes was handled via email with Angela, the office manager. She was also very pleasant to work with and provided great customer service when I need the additional documents/info for settlement. Overall, the quality of work and customer service was exceptional. If in the future, my new home needs some roofing work, I would happily use R.M. Banning again.

Estimator came early, provided a timely and reasonable quote. Answered subsequent questions. Scheduled work quickly and completed the job in one day. Crew didn't clean up well that day but management was responsive and sent someone back out a couple days later. Only issue was some scuffs on the siding weren't completely removed.

It took a while from time of estimate to actual repair only because it was a roof job and it was winter. Once Steve came to do the job it took about half a day. Steve is professional and a nice guy to boot.
