I visited the showroom to look at the selection of granite. Claudia provided me with two samples to take home before I finalized my decision. She also showed me the available undermount sinks as well as faucets. She provided me with a quote on the spot. Claudia was responsive to my questions via email and phone. The installers arrived within the time frame provided. They installed the granite in my small kitchen in under an hour. I engaged one of the installers to talk about maintaining the granite, and he was helpful in describing how to care for my new countertop.
Description of Work: Pyramid installed a new granite counters in my kitchen. The installers also placed an undermount sink and faucet. Plumbers separately installed both the sink and faucet.

Overall, an excellent experience and wonderful work from them. We went there a couple of times to look at options and they were very helpful and patient with our decisions. They had excellent ideas and the installers were great. Everything was done on time, with first rate quality and very professional, nice people to work with. The only problem I had was with a handle on the kitchen sink faucet which broke off a few weeks after it was installed. I called to ask them to replace it and whomever answered the phone the first time (not the person we usually dealt with) said it was the manufacturer's problem, call them directly. I called back again, and talked to someone else, and explained that I bought the faucet from them, not the manufacturer, and if it broke right away I thought that pyramid should stand behind their work. They, then, called the manufacturer for me, who sent us another handle (it was the manufacturers design flaw) which was a simple fix on our part. So, if I were to do it again, I'd stick to top name brand sinks and faucets only. But that was the only problem, which they addressed, so I highly recommend them. They did a great job.

We were very impressed with Pyramid Granite's customer service and pricing when shopping around for new granite countertops using Angie's List. While we ultimately decided to go with one of their competitors, it was pretty close. The pricing came in very similar, but the other contractor gave us a slightly better discount. We had personally met him, and we didn't have the time to stop by Pyramid's shop/warehouse and get the personal touch...otherwise, it's possible we may have changed our mind (we live in MD, so it's a bit of a trek to their warehouse). Claudia was always very quick and responsive to my questions regarding servicing and pricing, offered good Angie's List discounts, and did send out someone to perform an estimate who came quickly and showed up on time. Again, it was a very hard decision, and I could see us using them in the future. While I can't personally speak to their completed work, I would definitely argue that they should be one of your top choices in the area when considering new granite countertops.
Description of Work: We were interested in getting new granite countertops with an undercut sink, and having a new faucet, garbage disposal, and dishwasher installed at the same time. Pyramid sent out someone for a final estimate after I provided one based on my own measurements.

Installers came. Had to cut out an insert in a piece of the countertop. This did not go well. One side was cut off flush while the other side was not. It wasn't overly noticable and so I didn't complain but I remain somewhat irritated that they would try to hide their mistake rather than correcting it. I did complain about the way the installers used Expoxy to level out a join on top of a piece of backsplash though. Evidently one piece of backsplash was raised and so the just globbed epoxy into the void to make it level. Was way to noticeable for my liking though. I called Tsogo and he sent someone immediately to take care of it. Next time I would stress to Tsogo that I want his 'First Team' installers... as I somehow don't believe this is what I got.

The first morning the guys were a little bit late. I can understand this a little bit since they were coming North on 395 in traffic. They also had to extend my work to the following day because a back splash piece was cut to the wrong size. After arriving, they began work and an hour or so later, one of the guys tells me they ripped off the molding around the kitchen countertop. They explained that it had to be done, but it would have been nice to know they were going to do that beforehand. I mean, I was in the other room of the house, so couldn't they have come to tell me just as a courtesy? Now I have to get someone to come out and do drywall repair at my expense, which I had not counted on. I was willing to overlook all of this at first, but when I realized the second issue occurred (see below) I was a bit more irritated. When removing my bathroom sink to put the countertops in, the connecting pipe was broken without anyone telling me (it was functional before the work was done). When the plumber came to reconnect the pipes after the completion of the work, he pointed it out to me and said I needed a new one before he could hook up the sink. First, I can't imagine that the pipe had to be broken to remove the sink. Second, if I had been told the pipe got busted, I could have at least gotten a new one before the plumber arrived so the sink could be hooked up for use. At the very least, where was the courtesy to the customer? Finally, when I sent an e-mail to the person who helped me up to that point (Jorge, who was very nice up to this point) requesting that I get reimbursed for the additional expense to me, I received no return response. Was the pipe a huge expense at $25.00? No, and I won't go hungry because of it, but I feel as if I was let down on the customer service end of things due to both of these instances. Look, aside from the damage done to the molding and the pipe, the work seems good. The price was good as well, and Jorge was very helpful up until the point when I requested reimbursement for broken plumbing parts. Even when you add in the repairs I have to make at cost to me, it was still a good deal relative to my other quotes. I just can't give these guys anything better than a "B" overall (and I am sure other folks would rate lower) because of the issues that occurred, especially considering the amount of money being spent. Would I use them again? My answer is more of a "Maybe" than a "Yes," truth be told. I would certainly try getting another company to match the price offered before committing to these guys if I thought to use them again, rather than going by their Angie's List rating. UPDATE- Pyramid Granite did send out a check to me to account for the additional expense, which is nice even though my initial request went unanswered; I bumped up the responsiveness to a "B" in my rating as a result. As for the plumbing being unhooked before the installers arrived, that's simply not correct; the sink was hooked up and functioning properly prior to the countertop installation. The fact is that it was unhooked by the installers, and the pipe (or popup, whatever you choose to call it) connecting the basin to the drain was broken in the process without anyone telling me. As for the molding, I believe that it had to be removed, but it would have been nice if someone had communicated that in advance (I even state this in my initial review).
Description of Work: I had my kitchen and bathroom countertops redone with granite, including the replacement of both sinks, the kitchen faucet and the garbage disposal. The price was great, beating out the next best offer by $150. The quality of the work was reasonable, with some exceptions. See description below.

Response from Pyramid Granite LLC
Hi, Member! Sorry to hear about the inconvenience you encountered. There may have been some misunderstanding. It seems like when our installers removed the bathroom top, they encountered all the plumbing unhooked [by someoen else]. We also checked with the plumber and he says your old pop-up was broken and could not be reused, it wasn't the pipe. He explained that to you and came back the next day to finish up the job. As far as the molding underneath of bartop, that had to be removed in order to put new granite bartop. Even, if somehow you wanted to keep it, the installers had to remove it first. With regards to the credit, we will mail out you a check for $25.00 to compensate for the pop-up you had to get. We hope that we had been given the chance to explain the situation and clear out the air. Here at Pyramid Granite, we do everything in our hands to satisfy our client. That's our moto afterall. Thank you for your time! Happy Holiday season!

The project was very professionally done from start to finish. When I first visited the showroom without an appointment, I received an estimate based on purchase and installing the Silestone. Since I also had a lower cabinet to install, they made arrangements for a cabinet expert to come evaluate the work and provide an estimate. I elected to go ahead with the cabinet work as part of the project since it corrected a problem created by the previous owners of my house. The crew came out to tear out the old laminate countertops and were very professional. They were in the house only about 20 min, they were very careful to remove the old countertop without damaging some custom tile that i have on the wall. They completely cleaned up the areas following the tear out. The cabinet expert, Jorge, came in to do the cabinet work and also arrived at the appointed time and worked about 6 hours and did a great job matching my existing cabinet colors. He did a great job. The next day, the company sent someone to remeasure to be sure the measurements had not changed due to the cabinet work. Two days later, the crew arrived, on time, and installed the countertop. The plumber also showed up and connected all the appliances. The power went out for about an hour but the crew kept working. Thankfully the power came back on preventing them from having to leave and come back. I selected Pyramid Granite specifically because they had done a job similar to mine in the past and have rave reviews on Angies List. I paid a bit more than I had originally planned due to the custom cabinet work, but it is worth it. The whole job was done while my husband was out of town and he is very pleased with the result. I also got a quote from Home Depot on the same countertops without plumbing or custom cabinet work. Pyramid Granite was at least $1400 less. I also check Angie's list comments on Home Depot in my area which received less than top scores for lack of customer service. Pyramid Granite was very professional, punctual and I received a good value for my money.
Description of Work: Pyramid Granite installed a Silestone kitchen countertop, corrected a problem with my lower cabinets, installed one new cabinet, installed a new dishwasher and connected a new faucet and garbage disposal with the installation of a new undermount kitchen sink.

Walked into the showroom and was greeted by Claudia, who was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the total process. She gave me a preliminary estimate based on the specifications I provided. Jorge, the Manager, joined our discussion and was very helpful. He came to my home the next day and took preliminary measurements. Exact measurements were taken later by the installation technician and Claudia provided the final proposal, which included discounts for Angie's List members along with a free stainless steel sink and faucet. The installation crew arrived as scheduled and finished the job in about two and a half hours. The project was completed efficiently and professionally.

I had used Pyramid Granite before for kitchen countertops and a granite hearth. Since I had seen the Pyramid showroom I knew they were skilled cabinetmakers, as well as granite installers, so I turned to them for the millwork. Jorge gave me a telephone quote for the mantel, and emailed me a sketch of what he proposed to build. He worked with me on scheduling to meet a tight deadline for the buyers of the home. When they saw it, they were more than delighted, and I was too. Even the home inspector commented on the outstanding quality of the materials and workmanship. I wish I could post before-and-after pictures. The mantel Jorge delivered was the finishing touch that sealed the deal. I couldn't be happier! Would I use Pyramid Granite again? You bet I would! They have done great work for me on three projects.

In early July I called for an estimate for granite countertops in our kitchen. I made an appointment for someone to come out and do measurements a couple of days later. He was on time and meticulous in his work. I received a call a day or two later with an estimate of $4,200 based on a sale on Level A granite. This was between 25% and 50% less than two other quotes I had received. We went to the showroom to look over the granite colors and met with Claudia. She was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. The color we chose happened to be one of the Level A colors that was on sale (they had a huge selection), and we proceeded to complete the sale. The price included a stainless steel sink, faucet (in nickel), cutouts and installation. Installation was done on August 1st. A crew of 5 arrived and set to work ripping out the old countertop; they were very careful about not damaging the walls, floor and existing appliances. It took about 4 hours start to finish, and they did an excellent job cleaning up.

It went great. I emailed them for an estimate, got a call back within a day. I submited a layout of my kitchen to Pyramid by email. I got an estimate. They sent a guy out to measure. Turns out my drawing was off by one square feet. I schedule for the installation to occur a week later. They came on time and was able to take out the old countertop and install the new granite in a matter of about 2 hours. Very happy with my experience. I would recommend them and would use them again.

After seeing what a great job Pyramid Granite did with my kitchen counters, I decided to use matching granite to surround the fireplace. Once again, their workmanship was superb. I just left the house unlocked and they came, did the work, and left me an invoice on the new hearth. Their prices are always reasonable and they're very easy to work with. I am so happy with their installation that I plan to have them do upgrades in some other properties.

They gave us a great price on a first-class (but apparently under-selling) granite slab (we were never offered that at other countertop specialists). They threw in a free double-sink and faucet. My wife (like many people) likes to make changes to things as the work proceeds, and Pyramid's tile guy was always unfailingly good-natured and good-humored about this. I was particularly impressed with the tile crew's efforts to make a long-lasting job. Their preparation work for the tile installation involved extensive leveling and securing of the under-tile parts, using state-of-the-art equipment and methods. The tile backsplash was quite tricky (they had a bad wall to work with), but they negotiated that very well indeed. I've become used to workmen disappearing from the job for days at a time with flimsy excuses, but with these folks there was an absolute minimum of that going on. There were only two or three down days as the different crews scheduled as best they could around each other. The only warning I can impart to those attempting this work is: It's dusty! Don't compromise their efforts to keep dust out of other areas of the house (like by breaking through their plastic barriers to move in and out of the work area). If they're working in front of your garage, try to keep the garage door closed as much as possible or ask them to move further away from the garage for their sawing and tile cutting. If you keep the last-second changes to a minimum, they are geared to be in and out of your life fast and, boy, was that refreshing!
Description of Work: We originally wanted just new granite countertops, but this soon evolved into countertops plus tile back-splash and tile floor in the kitchen and an entire tile-oriented remodeling of the adjoining bathroom (changing an unused bathtub to a tile shower, and a new sink and toilet, with tiles halfway up all non-shower walls. We worked closely with the tile crew, and they helped us make informed, wise choices regarding the style and layout of the tiles. With their blessing, we were able to choose reasonably priced tile from the Home Depot. We also asked them to custom-make a kitchen table with the same granite. It was perhaps a silly request since the table is now so hard to move around, but their carpenter guy did a wonderful job, and it looks great in the kitchen. We finally had a slab of granite in our living room that was broken from the earthquake, and they replaced that with an exact look-alike slab.

I did my research to find a highly qualified Granite installation company and give credit to this research for the incredibly excellent service which I received from Pyramid Granite. End-to-end, every step of the way, every individual involved, gave 110% quality service to us for our new countertops. The process began with a prompt response to my phonecall for a quote, a punctual measuring session, a patient and comprehensive selection of products session, quality and skilled installers, a quality plumber, and most importantly, one of the best project managers (Claudia) I've ever worked with. Everything was PERFECT! No hiccups whatsoever. I fully intend to use Pyramid again if given the opportunity. And the first person I will call is Claudia who truly knows her stuff. Lately for us, it's been a rare occurrence to not have some challenges (re-work) on some of our home improvement projects, and it's a huge sigh of relief when a job is done with perfection, the first time, that Pyramid performed.

Pyramid Granite maintains a warehouse full of granite slabs to pick from so you get to see the color variation that is not possible when looking at chips, We really liked this way of picking out the granite even though it required a drive to their location. We worked primarily with Tsogo Manaljav who was very helpful in assisting us with the granite selection and very flexible in working with our ever changing construction schedule. We received the Angie's List discount which was a free high quality sink and faucet which we are very satisfied with. The quality, fit and finish of the Uba Tuba granite with ogee edge was excellent. The kitchen looks great! The installers were very helpful and easy to work with and completed the work in several hours. The cook top is located on an island. Removing the downdraft left a hole in the cabinet floor for the downdraft vent. This was very neatly covered by placing a premium grade piece of plywood cut to exactly match the entire floor of the cabinet. We were very happy with the result. The plumbing work also required installation of an electrical outlet since the previous garbage disposal was uncorded but the new one was corded. The new 220 line was installed very neatly. There was 2 minor issues that led to the B quality rating:1. The cook top was simply placed into the cutout in the granite without regard to the installation instructions. While the electrician was running the new line, I pulled the cook top out, installed a heat baffle on the bottom and installed a foam strip around underside of the edge. This was easy for me to do.2. The gas line was pushed down out of the island and into the basement as I requested; however, it was just left hanging there in mid-air and although the valve was turned off, no end cap was installed. It was easy enough to run to the store to buy the end cap and tack the line up to the joists but a little annoying that I had to do this myself.
Description of Work: Replaced 98 sq. ft. of countertop including back splash, installed new faucet, sink and garbage disposal, reconnected dishwasher, removed gas cook top and downdraft, installed new electric cook top, ran new 220 line to cook top, covered opening left by previous downdraft vent.

Once I discovered Pyramid Granite, my search was over. The foks were incredibly helpful and quoted the BEST price. This company defines "service to the customer." I called or visited ten companies. The particular granite I was trying to match was from an older lot. The newly mined same granite is actually much darker. When I described my problem, Pyramid told me they were sure they had what I was looking for in Baltimore. Over Memorial Day weekend they drove to Baltimore and brought down the piece. They left a message on my phone Monday night telling me to come by to see the slab.. I went out on Tuesday; the granite was perfect. I placed my order. Within seven days the granite was cut and installed. They came as scheduled, worked efficinetly, and quickly. They preferred that I pay by check vs. charging it. They told me that is one way they can offer such great prices.

I had shopped around for months trying to find granite that we both liked, and within a certain price range, for our very large kitchen. I had seen Sienna Bordeaux early-on in my search, and loved it, but was quoted a price (by a competitor) that was much higher than we wanted to spend, so I did not consider it, and continued months of searching for just the right stone in our price range with several competitors. A co-worker referred me to Jorge at Pyramid Granite, so I visited his showroom/stone yard in Springfield. The visit was a very pleasant one, with Jorge showing me stones that he thought would go well with our cherry cabinets. He had Sienna Bordeaux in stock, and it caught my eye, but I basically did not consider it because of competitors' pricing, which made me believe it would be too expensive. Jorge quoted me an excellent price on the stone (thousands less than the price given to me by a competitor). An estimator was sent to the house to get an accurate measurement, and within a couple of days, Jorge had an actual price for us. We decided to go with Sienna Bordeaux, despite the cost being above our budget. We met Jorge to finalize the contract, and put down a deposit. Jorge was generous in offering special pricing for upgraded edging (OGEE), a 15-year sealant treatment, and a large free 18-gauge stainless steel sink. A couple of days later, at our request, Jorge came to our house to discuss our concerns about an uneven wall that we discovered, and how the granite would be installed against it. He accommodated a special request we had, at no cost to us. I met with Claudia at the showroom, and she showed me, on their computer, exactly how the granite would be cut to best mask the seams. We have long runs, and required 3 seams, and since Sienna Bordeaux has a lot of movement in it, we were concerned with how the movement would match at the seams. A date was scheduled for the installers, who arrived on schedule. We had some unexpected electrical issues (cooktop wiring and undercabinet lighting) that would have been a problem had we not had a handyman on-site at the time, but our handyman took care of the issues on-site, and the crew was able to finish their work. The 3-person crew was friendly, professional, and fun to watch as they turned a sea of 1990s Williamsburg-blue laminate into a beautifully updated kitchen with the most gorgeous granite I've ever seen. A benefit of Pyramid Granite is they are open later than the majority of the granite companies I experienced in my search. I would definitely recommend Jorge, Claudia and Pyramid Granite, and we plan to use them again in the future for bathroom vanities.

I had been to three other vendors who do quartz and granite installation before I went to Pyramid Granite. From the start Pyramid Granite was a great experience. They did not pressure me to hurry and choose a stone and in fact their suggestion that I go look a larger samples at Marva Marble was a really good idea because what I choose by looking at the 2 inch sample was very different in a large slab and I ended picking something completely different. Their pricing was very competetive compared to other major vendors for the exact same items and installation. The actually installation process went very smoothly and all the workers they sent were very professional and courteous. In addition, at the other three vendors I had been told that the one large peice woudl have to be cut into two because it could fit through the stairs and it would break and so on and so forth. Pyramid Granite used a single piece without any problems. My kitchen looks awesome! George is abosolutely wonderful to work with. The only thing I would recommend is to work with the same person throughout the process and provide your email as they are very prompt in providing status and confirmation via email.
