+ 0 moreThe contractor performed all the task as specified in the contract on-time and it looked good. In 6 months my driveway is significantly pitted and blistering. The contractor said it was due to road salt over the winter. He said he could remove the new driveway and lay another concrete driveway ... but at roughly the same cost as the original. I feel the Contractor has some responsibility for the condition of my driveway and should bear 1/2 the cost of the damages.
Description of Work: removed 50+ year old driveway, walk and stoop and replace it with new concrete driveway, walk and stoop.

+ -1 morePortugal was replacing/repairing portions of the sidewalks in my townhouse community, including a portion in front of my house. I called to ask for an estimate for concrete work on my walkway. Eventually, I spoke someone who took down my information and promised to get an estimate back to me. It never came. Despite multiple calls back to the company and multiple assurances that they were interested in the project and would get back to me, they never did. Perhaps it was for the best as the work on the sidewalk in front of my house showed little care for both my yard and the nearby common area. The crew split a wood timber I had next to the sidewalk, left piles of dirt in my yard that killed recently planted grass, sat on some of my ground cover plants to eat lunch, and did a poor job of filling in the dirt next to the new portion of sidewalk.

+ 0 moreBob arrived on time, was easy to talk with and explained what they would do and some of the specification. He measurements and promised an estimate would be provided in a few days. Within a couple of days he provided a written estimate. I would have be comfortable with him doing the job. However, his estimate was somewhat higher an equally good company, and I decided to go with the other one. My next door neighbor, who referred me, had their driveway and walk replaced by Portugal a few years ago, and it still looks fine.
Description of Work: On the second request Bob contacted me and arranged to come to my residence on Saturday morning to gather information for an estimate for driveway expansion and replacement.

Description of Work: This family owned company provided excellent service on three quite different projects, demolishing a 40 year old concrete pool, rebuilding a wood retaining wall and putting in a new concrete walk way to the front door. I identified the company on a referral from a small business person who uses Portugal in the commercial concrete area for his business. He had told me the company was responsive, quite easy to work with and had fair prices. The company's sales person, Bob Fremeau provided an estimate the day after I called him. He also provided expert advice and some options. Bob always responded to phone calls and emails during the projects. Max Ribeiro was the foreman who visited the job site every morning with the work crews. He ensured everything flowed in an outstanding manner during the work days and the high quality work.. It was not until the work was accomplished that I found out he is a family owner. It is nice to know this is a hands on family operation. The work crews were diligent and accomplished the three projects much to my satisfaction. They cleaned up every evening after the work was accomplished. This company performed the three projects as first agreed upon with Bob and then per the contract. I would use this company again and highly recommend it.
