Excellent! I had four estimates. Craig explained more thoroughly what needed to be done and why. He was able to easily, and professionally, explain why and how they were different. Quality products and craftsmanship do matter in the long term for a household. Having a job done properly makes a lot of fiscal sense. The staff is attentive and personable, as well as professional. The workers were knowledgeable and respectful of our home and time. We always knew when they were at the home (we left town for some of the remodel). They were attentive to questions and needs. We moved the shower to the tub area, which made it larger. We put a soacesaver washer/dryer where the shower had been. Everything else was remodeled also. It is functional and beautiful! We love our beautiful, quality bathroom! I was so appreciative of the one stop shopping and Larry’s help with design. From estimate to completion and service after the sale - exceptional!
Description of Work: Total remodel of master bathroom. Moved the shower and exoanded it to what had been the tub. Added a spacesaver washer/dryer.

The end product is okay but the process was frustrating. The project took twice as long as it was supposed to (11 weeks versus 5) and throughout the delays we received very little engagement unless I pushed for answers. The delays were due entirely to poor project planning. Ultimately, the delays prevented us from undertaking additional works during this summer. I also had to spend additional time and money in the end to wrap up things they left incomplete or inadequate (ie. window well cover, sump pump, patching/touch up paint, and cleaning). Our lesson going forward is to be excruciatingly explicit and detailed in all aspects of the plan prior to signing a contract.
Description of Work: The company installed a new bedroom/bathroom in our basement where there were no prior mechanics or plumbing. They also installed an egress window.

Everything went well. Larry did a great job designing the bathroom and bar. The project cost came in where he said it would and the guys were respectful. In fat, I was impressed they had floor coverings down and tarps up to reduce dust. I really appreciated these extra steps.
Description of Work: I hired Only Bathrooms on two occasions. First was to remodel my basement bathroom. I wanted to make it more comfortable for my Mother in Law when she visited each year for 3 to 4 months. We kept the same floor plan but to their suggestion added heated floors due to it being a cold basement. She loves it and it looks beautiful. The second project was to remodel a wet bar down stairs. Wow, a simple project can make a huge transformation. Simple glass shelves with under cabinet lights really makes bar look great. Thanks again Larry!

Everything went smoothly. I am very happy with the results. Family was coming to visit and would spend 3 months with us. The original bathroom looked horrible and am really impressed with the design and work performed by Only Bathrooms.

The initial estimate, planning, and design consultations is what caused us to choose Ft. Hunt Construction/Only Bathrooms. Other bidders either were slow to respond with a request for bids or would not give useful information without us first paying a design or consultation fee. Larry's ballpark bid was the lowest, and he spent a lot of time looking at the structure and components of the areas to be remodeled, and he explained what could and couldn't be done easily. He also had excellent ideas on how to improve and redesign existing rooms as well as how to keep costs low while choosing quality products. During the consultation visits, he was down to earth and easy to talk with. Unfortunately, Larry's initial availability and go-to style didn't carry over to the actual remodel job. We had to repeatedly ask for a printed list of specifications and didn't receive one until late in the job. We found out several components weren't included in the bid -- such as the carpeting and shower glass and installation (!!). As this was our first remodel project, we now know to never sign anything without a specification list. Workers started two months after the signing of the contract, showed up for 2 four to five hour days the first week (including lunch break), one five hour work day the next, and 3 four hour days the third week. We remember two weeks when the two workers showed up for four days and worked for five hours each day. The part time work week trend continued throughout the remodel. It appeared the contract was abandoned at one point when no one showed up for four weeks. Our phone calls to Larry went unanswered or we were cut off. Email messages with lists of what was needed to be completed became the primary way to get a response. Some components we had personally chosen, based on Only Bathrooms/ Ft. Hunt Construction's preferred vendors, hadn't been ordered by mid- October when they were ready to be installed. Despite our frustration with the slow progress and poor communication, the quality of the work was our overriding concern. The highlight of the project was the two employees assigned to the project. They were slow but meticulous and very good craftsmen. They were polite and asked questions about our preferences. They followed through with our preferences. In the end, the finished product was/is beautiful and the overall cost is worth praising. In sum, we liked the concept of working with a small company. However, general construction contractors shouldn't cause their clients to be continually frustrated, and for that reason we will choose a different company for our next project.

The whole project went well, I knew pretty much what I wanted. But if I needed help at times making a decision Larry was always ready to help me, and in the nicest way. He crew was great from start to finish and they always left the work areas cleaned up at the end of the day. Plus they were pleasant to have in the house and kind to my small children.
Description of Work: Larry from only bathrooms aka fort hunt construction is amazing. From start to finish he and his teamed worked very hard to do things right and make us happy. They added a two car garage, expanded and redid the master bath, and did an entire remodel of out kitchen. It looks incredible! I would highly recommend using them on your next project to matter how big or small.

I hired Only Bathrooms as I wanted a contractor that was very experienced in bathroom remodeling and did not want to go through my local Home Depot. The company's owner came to review the project to provide an estimate. It would be much clearer later that he wasn't very thorough in examining the scope of the job as many mistakes were made based upon his poor initial assessment. At his showroom I chose the tile, accents, and cabinetry color. About a month later I was told I needed to change the tile as there was a problem with what their supplier could supply. Changing the tile then precipitated a change in the color of the cabinetry, so we went from an expresso cabinet to a darker cherry color. Because this is a townhouse, my bathroom sink plumbing is located on the wall by the door rather than the back wall connecting the two townhomes. It wasn't until the first bathroom was demolished that Only Bathrooms discovered this. Note that this was long after the custom cabinets had been ordered. They then realized that they couldn't put the sink in the middle as they had planned and they couldn't accommodate the custom cabinet with drawers that was ordered. They then had to scramble to find a solution. I was getting ready to leave town for a few weeks and while I was gone they were to start on the other bathroom. The only solution they came up with was using "Next Day Cabinets" which specialized in mostly standard kitchen cabinets. Again I had to change the color of the cabinet, now to a walnut and they had to put two separate cabinets in without drawers as "Next Day Cabinets" doesn't make cabinets with drawers. Needless to say this added delays to the project. Now that I had nothing with drawers and asked for perhaps a medicine cabinet. They discovered that they couldn't put in a recessed medicine cabinet and did nothing to help me find a solution to this problem as their response was that "Next Day Cabinets" does not do medicine cabinets. When I returned from my trip I was surprised and dismayed to find that the tub installed in the guest bath, was not a soaker tub as promised but a tub that was even shallower than the tub they removed. I was informed that they couldn't fit a soaker tub in this bathroom. Again this is something that could have and should have been known from Day 1. I expressed my frustration with the lack of drawers or medicine cabinets (at least my old bathroom had that!) as I was now worse off then when I started. The solution proposed by the owner was to put plastic bins inside the cabinets. When I countered that I didn't pay all this money to end up using plastic bins, he then agreed to put shelves in the two smaller cabinets. He never honored that commitment. The end result of my bathroom remodeling is that I ended up with the expedient solution that Only Bathrooms wanted and not the bathrooms I was promised and I wanted and that I paid $24,000 for. I asked for clarification of the cabinet costs as I suspect I ended up paying for the mistakes that were made as the custom cabinets were well into construction by the time they discovered their mistake. I also asked for a discount on my bill due to the fact that the mistakes could have been foreseen as bathrooms are their business. Only Bathrooms has never responded to my emails nor returned my phone calls which only validates for me that indeed the cost of the mistakes were passed on to me.
Description of Work: Complete remodeling of my master and guest baths. Master bathroom: replace tub with shower, tile floors and walls, granite countertop, new sink and toilet, new custom cabinetry with drawers, pocket door. A shower door was added later in the project. Guest bath: Soaker tub, tile floors and walls, granite countertop, new sink and toilet, new custom cabinetry (no drawers).

They were courteous and prompt. But they weren't true 'professionals' - with regard to the quality of the work. When I pay for work, I expect the finished product to be better than what I could have done myself. We didn't get that in this case. I should have done the work myself and saved the money. The plumbing was not done properly - a real plumber has pointed out all of the things they did wrong. The bathroom vents were vented to the attic - not hooked up to the roof vent. Overall, while I can live with the final product, I am not happy with the quality of the job considering how much I paid. The quality of their work just isn't the quality that I would have expected for the price I paid. I definitely would not recommend this company to friends.

As other reviews stated, initial contact was good. Owner very friendly and makes you comfortable during sales pitch. This company was the only one to respond to inquiries about remodel that had to happen fairly quickly. Initially promised work would be done within one week, but then changed to 2-3 weeks when contract presented. The promise of one week was unrealistic and more of a bait, I later realized. Other details of agreement changed in final contract as well, including the project management fee after we informed we would use our own fixtures. Company charges list price for fixtures, which no one charges. You can definitely get better price at Home Depot or even ten percent off at Ferguson's for higher end. We bought our fixtures online at 30-40 percent off list. It seemed that once we determined to use our own fixtures, there was an effort to recoup profit elsewhere in contract, i.e., change in basic materials pricing and extra labor charges. Final contract had unexplained adjustments for materials which should not have changed in price or quantity (e.g. grout). I was told there would be a five man crew dedicated to the job, but there was one person (Dimas) who did all of the work except the plumbing. He was extremely pleasant and punctual, arriving every day early and leaving late, cleaning the work area each time. When I asked the owner about the five man crew, I was told that didn't mean there would five people all be working on the bathroom at the same time (included the tile guy, plumber, electrician, etc ). Did have a problem with toilet left on lawn one day and sheetrock debris left on lawn at end of job. One person did the demo, drywall, tile, and painting -- looks professional. Worker very courteous and open to feedback. With plumber.language was a barrier and caused the installation of a sink drain on the bathtub. Problem could have been avoided by simpling reading the packaging or asking question of owner. Also, some lack of communication from owner to workers. Got to end of project and worker never informed about installation of grab bar. Support brackets should have been installed in studs before drywall hung. Plumber was nice, but needed better attention to detail. Toilet clearly making a noise the day of installation and sink and toilet installed slightly crooked. Problems were corrected after I checked work, but project manager or plumber should have been monioring. More of my time invested than should have been considering the payment of the management fee. Electrician was supposed to connect heated floor and add circuit. He never showed. Had my own electrician do the work. Owner very responsive before the signing of the contract and while work being done. This was the only bathroom in the house and we stressed the importance of completing the job quickly and maiking daily steady progress. Responsiveness after final check written not so good, however. Had to contact company repeatedly regarding warranty information and instructions for heated floor. Still not convinced we were provided correct information. Recall the box with materials had one brand printed on it and the information provided had another. Also had a problem with cracking grout shortly after completion, probably due to tub settling. Took weeks to resolve, but they corrected. Overall, no major problems since work completed. Project took about 3 weeks in the end and paid a little more than 8k for labor and some minor materials and tile. Glad I purchased my own fixtures (tub, faucets, vanity, sink, toilet, vanity light). Every detail must be in writing with this company if you choose them, including start and completion dates. You must also monitor very closely as there is no daily inspection of the work at the end of the day. Someone from the office stopped in on the project almost daily, but did not do a close inspection. Any labor outside the base price is inflated. For example, was charged extra 300 dollars to add a fixture for a handheld shower, even though all the plumbing was already exposed and I provided the fixture. Suggest you arrange for any extra labor such as extra plumbing or electrical on your own. I was told that they did not want my electrician to come in to do the work in the middle of the job, but you should insist if that's what you want. As I said, the company electrician never showed. If there is a change in the middle, do a change order and have both sides sign off on what is to be done and the price that will be charged up front. Also, verify with the local authorities whether any permits need to be obtained. Was originally considering using the company to add second basement, but will not do so. Would not recommend for anything beyond a pull and replace job and only if the same worker assigned to the work.

As the other reports have indicated--stay away from this company! Our contract specified a 2-3 week completion schedule, but they took 8 weeks to complete all of the work. Even then, all of the originally agreed upon work (as specified in a detailed written contract prepared mostly by us) had not been done, but we let some small things go because we were so tired of dealing with this company! The quality of their work is atrocious; do NOT order their custom cabinets. The finish is poor quality and the installation is shoddy. They measured our laundry room cabinets wrong and so they tore out our drywall to make the cabinets fit. They tried to convince us that it was normal to remove drywall when installing new cabinets! Then they were rude when we insisted that they remove the cabinets and reinstall the drywall. Although the company did not prepare a written contract with significant details, we wrote down all of the details and signed off on a contract that included our document. Despite this legal insurance, it was an arduous, painful process to deal with this contractor. We had to keep track of all of the details, point out when things had not been done according to the design, and clean up their work mess for 8 weeks. We also had to follow-up daily to check when someone was going to be at our house to work--and despite being weeks behind schedule, the company didn't send any workers to our house for 3-4 days in a row. The owner (i.e. project manager) was rarely at our house and his attitude became truculent when we complained about the poor quality of their work and cabinets (he was pleasant before we signed the contract). Although some of his workers were pleasant to interface with, communication was difficult at times since our Spanish is nonexistent and their English was marginal.
Description of Work: Renovated a laundry room and two bathrooms; painted two bedrooms.

We heard of Only Bathrooms through a couple of friends who had their bathrooms done through the company. When we met with the owner we were impressed with him and his organization. If only he would have been on site, this project might not have turned into the project it did. The project began with one laborer working for nearly a week to remove all of the trim pieces and save them for use later (as we requested). These pieces were later thrown out and replaced with new profiles which did not match the rest in our house. The floor, walls and ceiling were then demoed. The new subfloor was not laid level nor flat which caused problems with the fit of tub and trim boards. The uneven floor and out of plumb walls also caused problems when they installed the custom cherry vanity and had to shave off the legs to make the vanity level. When the granite counter top was installed, they didn?t mount the sink properly so there was a large gap between the counter and the sink. This was filled with clear caulk to seal the gap. Unfortunately, the person who applied it got caulk all over the sink and counter top. Our traditional swing door was refitted to be a pocket door (at Only Bathroom?s recommendation). The laborers did not fit the door properly so that the handles would not clear. They omitted a small part which spaced the tracks further so as to properly clear the opening. We had to fight with Only Bathrooms to get this worked on so that the handles were not tearing apart the opening. Those were the major issues we ran into in addition to little problems such as electrical and plumbing placement. Every issue we had was related to shoddy craftsmanship, poor communication (most of the people who showed up at the house spoke no English) and zero attention to detail. To add salt to the wound, when the final bill showed up, there was additional ?project management? time added. While this was an error, it was infuriating.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom renovation including demolition of walls, ceilings and subfloor in our 1920s bungalow. We picked out all the materials - toilet, bathtub, shower, vanity and all fixtures.

I set up an initial meeting with the contractor for which he did not confirm until I called him to confirm. At the second meeting, the contractor appeared totally disinterested, would not confirm my measurements, and casually reviewed the information provided. it became very clear during the course of the meeting, he was not interested in a labor-only effort. He offered some advice and stated he would send his estimate on Monday (we met on a Friday). It is now two weeks and we have no estimate.
Description of Work: We requested an estimate for a completion demolition and remodeling to two bathrooms. We provided the contractor the target bathroom designs, identification of products, and proposed timeline. We are purchasing all tile, grout, bath fixtures, cabinets. light fixtures. We had an estimated budget for labor with some modifications to be $4-6,000 per bathroom. We also planned to remodel a third bathroom as a follow-on effort.
