Rigo and his team did a fantastic job on both the concrete and brick work that needed to be done on our property. He was great to meet with about the work and did everything timely and to a very high standard. His prices were much more reasonable than other companies I got estimates from, and yet I did not feel like I sacrificed quality at all.

We had requested several bids from various masonry contractors to suggest and submit bids for repairing and/or replacing damaged / deteriorating areas to a brick walkway, stairs, flagstone patio, brick/flagstone stairs and other hardscape areas for our 1950s ranch home. Mr. Ortez replied promptly to our request for a bid and a time was set for a meeting. He arrived on time and spent a good deal of time walking the property and making suggestions as to the best approach to repair areas to keep costs down without sacrificing quality and keep with the aesthetic of the current brickwork/materials in place. Mr. Ortez was professional and his bid was reasonable; he was our second choice to complete the work. We went with another contractor because that contractor met our expectations but at a lower cost. We should note that Mr. Ortez did not push us to tear out and completely rebuild all of the areas we wanted repaired for tens of thousands of dollars (as several had), nor was he willing to simply "patch and repair" as this would sacrifice the quality and the life expectancy of the areas in need of repair. His suggestions were good and reasonably priced. In the end we went with another contractor because their suggestions and bid was the best fit for our needs and expectations. I would definitely recommend inviting International Brick and Concrete for a bid on masonry/concrete work you are thinking of for your property.

Rigo and his team were wonderful! They were attentive, professional and incredibly hard-working. Rigo made sure to keep me in the loop about the project and I did not have to worry about a thing. Each day they made tremendous progress despite the oppressive heat and their work is impeccable. Rigo and his team even laid the bricks on my pathway in a design I liked. I am so happy with the work and the entire experience. All my neighbors have commented about how good it looks and how impressive their work was. Thank you!

Rigo and his crew were superb. His team of craftsmen were outstanding, even going to the point of finding matching bricks to replace those that were broken and matching the mortar color so closely it is indistinguishable from the original steps, porch, and walls of our home. Professional, friendly, considerate of our property and belongings - all in all an outstanding experience. Even if you might be considering someone else, you should give him a chance to provide you an estimate! His work is top notch - his pricing is extremely fair. I would recommend his team to anyone and will hire him again in a second!

The work was done in a very professional manner. Rigo and the people working with him were very attentive to the work we wanted done, spent a great deal of time on site, and cleaned up very thoroughly after themselves. They did a wonderful job and I would definitely hire them again!

Rigo sent me updates with pictures at every stage of the work as I did not live in the same town as the home. He was very professional and thorough. I also appreciated the fact that he was the one who walked the job to provide the estimate and he also showed up every day to make sure the work was done as we had agreed - he did not just disappear and send out some supervisor to whom I then would have had to totally repeat myself. Very good experience. I work with a lot of contractors and would put a lot of trust in Rigo and know the work would get done as specified.

When advised of the problem, Mr. Ortez apologized and asked when he could return to resolve the issue. This was promptly arranged and executed at NO extra cost -- a commitment to customer satisfaction that one rarely will find today. We are fully satisfied with the result and appreciative of this firm's professionalism.

Rigo was fantastic. I got several estimates for some brick work that needed to be done. Rigo was by far the most competitive but also was fair and honest. He told me what he thought I needed rather than giving me a sales pitch to make money. He did an excellent job and was incredibly kind and considerate along the way. He was very responsive by email and text and was flexible to try to accommodate my busy work schedule. Highly recommend him for masonry work. I will definitely use again if needed.

It went great. Mr. Ortez and his crew did a beautiful job removing the old brick patio, regrading and building the patio with new bricks. They were easy to work with and did everything that they said they would do. They put in three large descending steps made out of heavy timber that will last about 100 years. Also, they did a great job of putting in a new cement stoop and bricking it over outside my patio door. The job was difficult because so many different areas had to be integrated into a unified area . All work was top quality.

International Brick & Concrete is a reputable business that takes the time to evaluate your needs and follow through on the job. While my job was small they made, me feel as if they were planning and implementing a large-scale endeavor. After receiving the quote and agreeing to the terms, they started within a weeks’ time and the work was completed in one day. I would recommend them and will use them again.

Rigo re-did our front steps and porch with flagstone in August 2016. He was incredibly responsive and reliable. From preparing the quote, to organizing the parking permits, he went above and beyond expectations. The finished product was beautiful. Rigo is easy to work with and reliable- a gem in DC!

Rigo came and took measurements but I never heard from him again and never received an estimate. I feel this is totally unprofessional and I am pretty sure I dodged a bullet with this company.

We have some brick steps leading up to our house that were in need of repair. Every other contract gave us exorbitant estimates to replace the entire brick landing. We were clear that we wanted to do a simple repair/patch up job and it did not have to look perfect, but of course needed to be safe. We do not intend to stay in the house forever. Rigo was the only contractor who thought outside the box and gave us a reasonable estimate to repair the stairs, make them safe and look nice. And his guys followed through perfectly. He came most of one day and did a fantastic job. We couldn't be happier.

I scheduled with IBS to have an estimate done for a fairly big job. We scheduled for 1 PM on Saturday. He didn't show, he called at 3 PM to apologize and said he was busy and could we reschedule for 4:15. I decided to give him another chance, people have bad days. He didn't make it for 4:15. at 5 PM I had plans and was busy. Apparently he called around 5:15 and said he was nearby. I didn't hear the voice mail until the next day. I can understand being busy and even up to 30 minutes late. But to not even call until two hour after the first appointment and then not call before to say he would be late for the rescheduled second appointment. Doesn't give me any confidence in how communication and scheduling would go during a job being done. Hopefully for him it was just a very bad day. But for me it was more than enough reason not to follow up with IBS.

From the start working with Rigo Ortez was a pleasant experience. I contacted five contractors who were well-rated on Angie?s List. International Brick stood out because Rigo was straight-forward and helpful. Other contractors were not as forthcoming about how the work would be completed, and their estimates did not spell out everything. Rigo?s did, right down to how much soil would be excavated behind the brick wall that was being replaced and what would go in its place. His team arrived every day and worked diligently all day to complete the job. The three-day job went a little longer than expected because of some rain. The job included supporting a deck, removing concrete blocks that made up the wall that was 50+ years old, drilling new footings, installing rebar, building a new wall, filling behind it, hauling everything away and giving the wall a stucco-like finish. A step that other contractors said could not be fixed without replace two others was replaced by International Brick, and a section of walkway that had sunk by my front steps was replaced. An area near the stoop was excavated and filled with fresh concrete. Rigo offered to do additional work in my backyard, including work on a small porch and landscaping, but since I was not certain what I wanted done, I held off.

Completed work according to agreed schedule and estimate. Rigo and his workers were very friendly and consulted us on brick color and layout. The quality of the work was very good and they cleaned up the area after the job. I would happily hire him again for any brick or concrete job.

We highly recommend Rigo! We hired him first to cut a hole in a brick wall between two rooms to help us create an en suite. We already purchased the lintels ahead of time because I planned on doing the job myself. But I thought otherwise, wisely so. Rigo knew what he was talking about and was very quick and accurate. He completed the work in the time quoted and we were very pleased. We didn't initially plan on hiring Rigo for the second project simply because we didn't know he could do drywall work as well. It wasn't a major drywall project - just install drywall to create a laundry closet, a second bathroom, and to patch a ceiling where a closet was previously located. We called Rigo for references and he said he had a crew that could do the job. He came in with the better and reasonable price and we hired him. He finished that work in a timely manner and again we are very pleased with the work done. We are a much happier couple simply by being able to do laundry at home. We are really grateful for the work that was done and the extremely fair pricing. Thank you, Rigo!!

They did an excellent job. He matched the new bricks to the bricks on my existing wall. It looks very professional. They cleaned up afterwards and re-seeded the areas where their equipment damaged the lawn. Because I live out of town, he texted me pictures during different phases of the job.

Rigo was very professional. He spent time talking with us about the project, even before we'd chosen him as the provider. He brainstormed possibilities, listened to our ideas, and shared his own. His estimate was very fair -- less than others we received. Rigo was very accommodating - we had strong opinions about the color and variety that we wanted in the flagstone and facing stone. He brought us samples, then went out of his way to select the stones so that we got what we wanted. He and his crew worked very well together. They worked hard, putting in long hours each day. They were very thorough -- at one point they discovered that wood under some siding had been water-damaged, alerted us, and then repaired it for us. It's worth noting that Rigo has been excellent about follow-up -- the final stage of the project involved power-washing and sealing the stone. The weather did not cooperate, but Rigo stayed in contact with us, scheduling (and re-scheduling when it rained!) until it was done. Overall the project went very well and we are very happy with the end product.

Rigo and his men did a beautiful job. I was home through much of the work and could see how much attention they paid to detail and to getting it just right. Although the original estimate did not include the front steps, we agreed it would work better and look better if they were included and the price adjustment seemed quite fair to me. Rigo is very easy to work with. Each day they cleaned up the work area. The finished product is beautiful.

We had a great experience with Rigo and his crew. Short story, the brick wall is beautiful! Rigo talked with me several times after the initial quote. I had a range of quotes and suggestions from vendors work I had received and he explained the pro and cons of the various options. He helped me deal with a contractor to purchase bricks from a house being demolished next door so the wall matched our old brick house. His crew even selected them, stacked and moved them for us. The work took 3-4 weeks and the work site was was organized. The guys worked so well together and took so much care in the getting the curve and alignment of the wall around the driveway. As it was nearing completion we added a re-do of a brick and concrete area by the back door. Rigo suggested a design using flagstones inside a brick foursquare that we really like. I would highly recommend IBC. I appreciate that it is a small company of workers who have a lot of experience working together for many years. We would be happy to use them again if the need arises.

This was a fairly big job, and I got several bids before deciding to use Rigo's comopany. His bid was significantly lower than the others, but his description of how he would do the job was exactly the same, and after reading Angie's List reviews and going to some of the addresses nearby that Rigo gave me to look at his work, I decided to have him do my project. I have absolutely no regrets. Rigo and his team did a superb job from beginning to end. He brought the same crew to work on the project every day so they knew the job, he worked on site with them many days, they generally worked 6 days a week except when rain stopped them (and they worked at least one Sunday because they had lost a couple says to rain that week), and his crew worked just as hard when Rigo wasn't there working with them as they did when he was there to supervise. Rigo was very helpful with suggestions on design and style, and we made several changes and additions to the project as it progressed that added cost (of course!) but greatly improved the final product. For example, we decided to remove the concrete garage apron and install the French drains as an add-on to the original contract, and I asked to add a 7-foot in diameter circular design pattern in the brick and opted for a labor-intensive paver pattern. All the add-ons to the project were my decision and Rigo was accommodating, but he did not in any way attempt to push me to modify the project to add work or costs. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Crew was very neat, and worked very well together. Rigo, the owner, came by several times during the day to check the progress and checked in with me every day to let me know what to expect and sort out any questions or concerns. I actually had them come back a third day to scrape down and repaint my wrought iron railing.
