This was a fairly big job, and I got several bids before deciding to use Rigo's comopany. His bid was significantly lower than the others, but his description of how he would do the job was exactly the same, and after reading Angie's List reviews and going to some of the addresses nearby that Rigo gave me to look at his work, I decided to have him do my project. I have absolutely no regrets. Rigo and his team did a superb job from beginning to end. He brought the same crew to work on the project every day so they knew the job, he worked on site with them many days, they generally worked 6 days a week except when rain stopped them (and they worked at least one Sunday because they had lost a couple says to rain that week), and his crew worked just as hard when Rigo wasn't there working with them as they did when he was there to supervise. Rigo was very helpful with suggestions on design and style, and we made several changes and additions to the project as it progressed that added cost (of course!) but greatly improved the final product. For example, we decided to remove the concrete garage apron and install the French drains as an add-on to the original contract, and I asked to add a 7-foot in diameter circular design pattern in the brick and opted for a labor-intensive paver pattern. All the add-ons to the project were my decision and Rigo was accommodating, but he did not in any way attempt to push me to modify the project to add work or costs. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Crew was very neat, and worked very well together. Rigo, the owner, came by several times during the day to check the progress and checked in with me every day to let me know what to expect and sort out any questions or concerns. I actually had them come back a third day to scrape down and repaint my wrought iron railing.

The owner, Rigo Ortez was very easy to work with. They did an excellent job both on the stairway and the driveway, we're very pleased with the end result. Everybody that is employed by Rigo was courteous and seems to be very competent. The price was right, I thought. We had a lot of bad weather going to winter so there is somewhat delayed but that was too no fault around. They cleaned up after they did their work and so I'm pretty pleased.

They were very courteous and efficient as well as professional. I had an issue with one of the stones in my walkway, which Rigo was more than happy to come and correct for me to my satisfaction. The service was great and I am happy with the results.

I saw the work Rigo and his team did on a neighbor's yard and heard good things about his attention to detail and work ethic. I was not disappointed. We first estimated 2-3 weeks and $21,000 but I did expand the project a bit once it got started. We live on a very steep hill with an old brick retaining wall that was leaning outward. He took down the old brick retaining wall facing the sidewalk and driveway, cleared old brick down to the wall footing and built a cinderblock wall with irrigation behind it and stone facing with flagstone capping. We also had the old concrete stairs and walkway broken up and regraded and put flagstone on the horizontal surfaces and stone facing on the steps to match the wall. The job ended up taking over four weeks, but they worked 10 hours a day, Saturday too and did the job with out a break. You could tell they took their time to do it right and were proud of their work. In retrospect, I should have thought more about what we wanted, especially regarding the regrading of the steps. We eliminated a steep climb of old narrow tread steps by a series of 4 steps and landings, creating a need for additional side wall since the pathway now is below the ground level as it goes up. We also added steps from the driveway up into the yard for convenience, which cost extra. I'm not sure Rigo thought to explain that we would need to find a solution for the dirt side walls created by the excavation of the ground to accomodate steps. As the job progressed, we discussed solutions, and decided on a stacking stone effect, which looks very nice but cost extra than I had originally thought. Luckily we had more in the budget to do this. I cannot complain about the results, the value we got for the money or the effort they put in. It will look nice for years to come.

Rigo does a great job at a great price. He does need direction on some details or style but perhaps that's just to ensure I got exactly what I had in mind. Rigo has also without question (or charge) come back years later to repair some step stones that came loose. He is polite, professional, punctual and I have recommended him to many others and will use his services again if neede.
