Contacted Hatcher's upon a recommendation from a Kitchen Design firm that we had contracted with. Dave Hatcher came out and toured the house and took measurements. We then promptly got a quote back from him. I told him what kind of look we were after and he made some great recommendations and laid out a few options for us regarding width, length and class of wood. His crew is fantastic - extremely professional and detailed, which I appreciate because I can be picky. They came early in the morning as promised and worked diligently. They finished in the time they had promised as well - which was great because we were waiting to move in. I was very nervous before they finished the wood because I was unsure regarding the color and the finish. The guys at the house were more than accommodating and applied two different finishes to two big sections so I could get a better idea. That made all the difference and I was able to choose exactly what I wanted. I then had a last minute hesitation about whether I should go with a water or oil-based finish. I called the office to discuss this and Dave called me during the 4th of July weekend (he was on vacation) to walk me through the pro's and con's of each. I apologized about taking his time during his time off but he was adamant that he wanted to make sure that I was happy. We chose to go with the water based product and couldn't be happier. Our house got a complete "facelift" with the change in flooring. The change was dramatic and the floor is just beautiful! We then remodeled our kitchen and Hatcher's came back out to change out the kitchen floor so it would flow with the rest of our house. I was worried that there would be a noticeable difference where the new wood would meet the wood that was laid out earlier in the summer. Not to worry - it is seamless. Then, when the appliances were going in the installers dropped the range and scratched a bit of the new floor. They worked with Hatcher's to get it repaired and Hatcher's came right out and left it looking brand new. Their responsiveness, professionalism and work product are outstanding. I highly recommend. Don't let my $ amount scare you - again, the work they did for me was quite extensive. Their pricing is very reasonable and I will use them for all of my flooring needs in the future. Oh - and I had a squeak in my master bedroom (it must have been masked by the carpet that was previously there). I told Hatcher's about it and they came back out and told me that it was the joists under the floor - not the floor itself. They said they could fix if they could go in through the ceiling in the main level. When we redid our kitchen it was the perfect opportunity and they came out and fixed it perfectly! They deliver! I am a demanding client in that I want great service and expect great work product and I got both with Hatcher's. You won't be disappointed. I will also just leave this review by saying that I never review anything - but thought so highly of them that I decided to take the time to write this out. Hope this helps!

to remove all of the old flooring and replace it with the same flooring that had just been installed. He had two additional crews come out that afternoon to remove the old flooring and install the new. The three crews worked until after 6 PM on a Friday afternoon to complete the work. In August of this year, we decide to have a wood laminate floor install in our basement that had been flooded several months before. We obtained three bids for the work, one from Hatcher, one from a large home repair center and the third from a flooring franchisee. The home repair estimator was following a script and offered little advice or suggestions for some difficult area we wanted done. The franchisee representative offered the lowest price, but would sub out the actual installation to one of several third-party installation crews, but he was not sure who would actually do the work. We ultimately chose Hatcher because of our past experience with them even though their estimate was slightly more expensive. The laminate flooring was delivered about a week before the schedule installation to allow it to acclimate to it's new environment. The installation crew showed up at 8 AM on appointed day, completed the job as agreed, and cleaned the work area to the point that you would have no idea the new floor had just been installed. If we have additional hardwood flooring work to be done, Hatcher will get out business.

We had to clear 3 rooms, including our main bedroom and living area of ALL furniture, we rented a pod and put the "stuff" in there for the 2-3 weeks we needed to have the floors installed and cured. At least 48 hours before the installation started, Hatcher's brought in the raw wood flooring, ours was white oak to match the existing flooring. On that Monday after the flooring had been in the house for 48 hours, the installers came and got started. Despite best efforts, sawdust still got everywhere. Anyone doing traditional hardwood floor should be aware of this. Hatchers could be more explicit about how persistent and pervasive the dust can be. Entire job was done in 1 week. We left floors to cure for about 8 more days, and then hired movers to help bring our furniture back in from the storage pod. 10 weeks later, things are looking really good and expect to have beautiful floors for a long time.

Dave was easy to work with. I appreciated that he, himself, came to our house to do the estimate. The crew kept the house clean and finished quickly.

We were expecting a baby at the beginning of June, and needed to have the work completed before the baby was born. I had spent quite a bit of time researching the specific products to use. We got quotes from several companies, but even if the companies were willing to use the products that we wanted, none of the other companies were familiar with them. Dave Hatcher came out to our sales call/estimate. He spent quite a bit of time with me discussing my desires and giving me some really good advice on how to make my vision work. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the installation that we wanted and had clearly used tung oil products before. Their prices were comparable to the other quotes we received, and I felt strongly that we would get a high quality installation by using them. The project began as soon as we received the flooring (we purchased it ourselves) and it acclimated to our house. The two-man team worked quickly during the installation and finish, and were total professionals. They did an amazing job containing the dust, and the ventilation for the finish was fantastic as well. When the job was finished and the floors were dry enough for us to inspect them, we noticed one or two spots on the floor that weren't quite right. Dave came over the next day to inspect and said that they would do another coat since they warranty their work. The same team came by and added another coat leaving us with our beautiful floors and a very high quality installation. The project completed on time and with the right quality without dust or leftover finishing fumes to keep our newborn's lungs clean. Throughout the whole project, everyone we encountered was professional and knowledgeable. When we replace the carpet in our upstairs, this is the company that we will call.

We were pleased with the overall result, especially the refinishing of the old wood and installation of the new. Hatcher's gets high marks for both. We were also pleased with the response to address an issue that delayed a portion of the installation. Dave, the owner, worked with us to find an acceptable solution in a reasonable timeframe. In addition, Dave was easy to work with when other matters arose, issues that are common place in a project scope of this size and in a home of its age. Where they fell a bit flat was in the finish work. This portion of the work was assigned to another individual that had not been part of the either the refinishing or installation process. As a result, we lost continuity, leading to items being overlooked, missed or not done, which resulted in an extensive punch list. That said, Dave was quick to address the open items. In a nutshell, Hatcher?s is an easy company to work with. They are more expensive than the competition but if you get the right installation or refinishing groups, you won?t be disappointed.

Based on comments in Angie's list, we called Hatcher's (and others) to get estimates for having our entire first floor hardwood floors refinished. Tom from Hatcher's arrived on time and provided a written estimate via e-mail on the same day. One of the reasons that we chose Hatcher was that they provided different options for having the floor done. There was a base price with oil-based or water-based options; stain options; dust suppression options; and doing the job in phases instead of all at once. We also applied a $100 Angie's list coupon to the price. Hatcher's was able to schedule work to begin on a Monday and the last coat of finish was applied on Thursday as agreed upon. We had about 800 sq. ft. of 50 year-old thin plank (1 1/2") oak done in our living room, dining room, hall, 3 bedrooms, and closets done. We moved all furniture, books, chairs, etc. out of the area and removed all quarter round / shoe molding. The two-man crew arrived on time and started right away. They covered the entry to the kitchen (no wood flooring in kitchen) with a plastic sheet. Since we had chosen to pay more for the dust suppression equipment, we did not expect to get a lot of dust and we did not. The crew did vacuum the floors after they sanded. All of the removal of the old finish and first rough sanding was done the first day. Each day for the next 3 days the crew called before they came and arrived when they said they would. There is some odor from the stain, sealer, and polyurethane, but it was not bad. My wife was more aware of it than I was, but we stayed in the house each night during the work. I would definitely recommend keeping all windows open as much as is possible during the work. Even with dust suppression equipment there will be some dust. Also, as Tom had stated while here for the estimate there was a little bit of damage to the base molding from the sanding equipment. I considered it minimal and was able to do paint touch-up with no problem. All-in-all the floors look great and Hatcher's did a nice job.

Outstanding work on every job. Great price for the level of quality and service. David Hatcher has always been a pleasure to work with, and I completely trust his knowledge and judgement. We would hire them again without a question.

I was confident that they could match what we had. They were very knowledgeable. We were moving back into the house so they promised they would have it done in a timely manner. They worked late at night to finish. They wanted us off the floor for quite some time so they remained nice. I was worried about having hardwood in the kitchen, but he told me he could buff it in a few years if needed. He told us how to take care of it and what products to use. I was very happy with them and would definitely use them again.

Both estimators arrived on time and were very professional from the start. We started off by talking about the area and types of hardwood we planned to install. Feedback and communication about our ideas was excellent. Both estimators know the products quite well and offered good insight on design options and materials. The quote was emailed promptly the next day and included everything we talked about. Hatcher Floors was not picked to do our install even though their price was a few thousand dollars less than another company. This decision was due to the lack of financing options. I did speak to the company about options and they were able to offer us 1/3 down, 1/3 on completion and final payment in 90 days from then. As much as I appreciated the offer, for the amount I needed to complete what I wanted to do, this just did not work for my budget. Overall had I the ability to meet the shorter payment window or had I been been looking at spending less, I would have had Hatcher Floors doing my installation without any hesitation. I hope that in the future I have the opportunity to work with them again.

It went great. THe installers stayed until almost 9 pm to ensure that the hardwood floors were completed in one day.

We are very happy with our experience with Hatcher's. The estimator was knowledgeable, the price was competitive, and the work was completed on schedule. The floors look great!

The carpet installers and tile installers arrived when they said they would, were professional and did a great job.

I think they could have done a better job by evening out the floor. When they were resealing the toilet and the half bathroom, they didn’t use the right type of connectors. They had to re touchup the base board a little bit. I had used them before in another house and they had done a good job. That was a different kind of thing. This was flooring and that was refinished. The biggest issue was that more attention had to be paid to leveling the floor out. I would use them in the future.

Requested an estimate from them, and a few others, for the work some time ago. Never got around to making a decision. Finally decided (over a year later) and Hatcher was willing to do the work for the original estimate. That was exceptionally reasonable for them to do the work for the original estimated price. They did a good job sealing off the kitchen cabinets and doorways so there was minimal sawdust.

My interaction with them went well. They gave me a bid that I didn’t put in for anything besides just getting an estimate. They were fine. They were polite. They gave me a good estimate. I would consider using them again in the future.

They were very good and very comprehensive.

The experience was fine but I didn't use them. They were fine. The fellow came out and did some measuring and sent me a bid. I didn't have any problems with them. I would get another quote from them.

It was a fabulous experience. Everything we were told would be done was done. The floors look great! they were right on with estimates of time and we couldn't be happier.

Ok, there were some coordination and follow-up issues, but good overall.

It went very well. Contractors arrived on time and worked hard and efficiently. Work was completed on time within budget. Quality of work was excellent.

They are wonderful. I was absolutely thrilled to work with them. They did a beautiful job. They re-arranged the schedule, so they could take care of me. They provided me a good advice. They gave me a good price. I was extremely happy with that. I would highly recommend them to anybody. The price was fair for the work they did. They were extremely responsive. They were here when they said they would be. They finished it faster than they said they were going to do.

Mr Hatcher came for measurement and estimate for new floor for the basement he said he will get back to us within few days .So far he didnot in spite of several calls on this voice mail. very strange behavior
