Exterior Medics

It went fine.

Attended a Home and Garden Expo and stopped to talk to a rep from this company. Took a look at their brochure and contacted them for a roofing estimate. The were prompt in calling us back, we set up an appt, and the rep (Tom Green) came to our home. He got up on the roof , took pics and was able to show us areas of wear and disrepair. He presented us with a detailed analysis and price quote of the proposed work. We were very impressed with the level of thoroughness and professionalism. Exterior Medics was the first company we contacted so we have needed to get some other bids. This company, so far, has tended to be a bit higher in price than some of the other companies but unlike some of the other companies, their estimate was based on an actual inspection of our roof as opposed to a "guesstimate" of what could be there.

Tom Green provided a good, computer photo analysis and workers were on time and did good work. I?m highly pleased.

I received the estimate after a winter roof inspection through Angie's list. One of the rake boards was rotted and needed replacement, another needed to be renailed and all needed paint. The chimney cap had some deep cracks and had been a target of repair for over a year. Two areas on the walls had cracked mortar and needed tuck pointing. I received estimates from two other contractors. One was way over and the other was competitive, but communication of my desires was a challenge, so I went with Exterior Medics. We agreed to start the work when the weather warmed up. I payed 1/2 up front. There was a glitch in scheduling (they showed up to work unannounced) and I was irritated about that, but they did not want payment until after I had a chance to inspect. I forgave the scheduling when I saw the work. The chimney cap looks great, but the rake boards are the biggest improvement. They looked great. Excellent color match. The tuck pointing was thorough and the mortar was a good color match so it was hard to tell where the work had been done, except that all cracks were gone. I would highly recommend Exterior Medics and have to two neighbors.

Scheduling was smooth, the inspector arrive on time on the correct day, and walked all over my roof inspecting shingles, flashing, caulking, and gutters. He performed caulking and sealing of skylights and other areas. I made another appointment for additional minor repairs, such as installilng flashing over a bump-out window, sealing another chimney (too high to reach with inspection visit ladder), and repairing a gutter.

They were enjoyable to deal with, did an excellent job.

I had squirrels getting in my attic through holes they had made in the existing soffit. Exterior Medics were very professional. They came out to the house to look at the work and they came back and personally delivered the estimate and went over it with me. They did the work while I was away (which I requested), but called to let me know they were going out to the house. When I got back everything was finished and looked great. I was very pleased with the work and would definitely use this company again.

He showed up in our driveway and said that if we filed an insurance claim, then he would get the job. It was right after a hailstorm. They hounded us a little bit. His office kept calling. We need to do the chimney before we get this guy to do our roof. He has been borderline harassing us. He was a little bit shady in the way that he went about our pricing. He wanted to see the insurance claim before he told us what the price was. No matter what our insurance paid, he would be doing a job for us. We were locked in a contract. They haven't done any work for us yet. He won't give us a quote. If we want to do some sort of upgrade, it's going to be a certain amount more. He is either overcharging us for the standard, or he's overcharging us for the upgrade. He is very professional and likable, but he's a bit evasive when it comes to details.

They did a complete work up on the estimate and we have not made a final decision at this point as to who we are going to use. I do highly recommend them.

EM did a very good job. Their initial price was higher than other bids, but they lowered their price to within a few thousand of the lowest bid. We used EM even though they were not the lowest bid due to their more detailed specifications (and higher Angie's List ratings). The crew did a terrific job each day. They cleaned up each day and did a thorough clean-up when teh job was finished. They worked quickly and got the entire job done in just a few days.

Overall, very well. Joe (owner) was extremely responsive and involved. Workmanship appears to be top notch and carries a very competitive warranty. Only issues were with site supervision... Laborers were qualified but didn't speak much English. Used hand held leaf blower to clear roof of debris and old roofing nails that were then blown into downspouts, which empty into a sub-surface drain pipe. Who knows if they got all that crud out of the systtem?... Gutters were damaged (bent and paint chipped) by careless workers placing ladders where they needed. Although swept with magnets we continue to find old roofing nails around the perimeter of the house. Ouch for one of our dogs and, later, an elderly mother... Bottom line - great quality products and workmanship. Site supervision needs improvement in my opinion. Fixes were more-or-less adequate, but certainly not WOW! "Found" work was priced on borderingly unreasonable, but I didn't feel like taking the time/effort to dispute. I think Joe cares, but he can't be everywhere at once. More comprehensive follow-up would have been appreciated. I did not dispute the final invoice nor make a big deal about the damaged gutters - which were "touched up." Just wish they would have gone the extra mile to do it like it was their house - for the size of the job one might have expected more. Nevertheless, I'd recommend them with caveats.

Everything went very well. It was a great job.

The project manager gave excellent presentation and delivered the price quote in a timely manner. The work crew arrived early, on time and completed jobs on scheduled dates.

Steve was very knowledgable about the windows and patiently answered all our questions. There was a bit of lack of updates as we were waiting for the windows. We waited an additional week aftewr the windows arrived for the installer was backed up with other orders. When the crew arrived, they worked very fast and left the house in clean state. The windows are excellent. They look nice, keep the cold out, the temp stays constant for long periods and the noise is drastically reduced. I would recommend both the company and Milgard windows.

The work was delayed a week because of the weather. The workers showed up on time and worked for three days to complete all the work. There were some nails left on the ground but otherwise the clean-up was taken care of. The foreman came by after the work was completed to check the work and all appears to be done. So far, we are happy with the work.

I am very happy with Exterior Medics. They seemed very knowledgeable and confident to do the work. They gave me a competitive price. They were very quick to respond which is something I like a lot in them. They were very prompt whenever they had to come and explain some part of the project.

They sent out a company representative to sell the job then they used a sub contractor that didn't appear to be permanently employed by the company. The sales guy wore their shirts and had a professional form then you end up with a subcontractor. The work seemed fine, but you almost feel like someone is going to pull up in a company car to do the job. Instead you get someone who doesn't speak English pulling up in a beat up vehicle to do the work. The subcontractor didn't wasn't of the same caliber as the salesman as far as dress and presentation. It looked like any other fly by night company, but they did the job and it was fine. I thought they were a little high priced, but they did the service specified.

Exterior Medics did an excellant job at each task. Very polite and professional. The initial visit to discuss my issues was through and examples were provided or brought back at a next visit to confirm my selection and the quality of the product. Each repair visit had a follow-up from Exterior Medics management to confirm the satisfaction of the work performed. The work crews were excellant! Knew what to do and kept the work area clean as they worked. Very polite and competent. had all the equipment and tools needed for the job on hand. Coordinated with me and their management if any issues came up and made sure I was satisfied with the results.

A branch fell on our roof while we were out of town, damaging the roof as well as a gutter. After being contacted, Exterior Medics evaluated the damage, provided an estimate, and performed the work. All was done as stated and within a short time frame.

They did have to come back to fix something they missed. They did want to meet our satisfaction and they repaired it. I think they were a little expensive for what they did.

It was a big project, but we didn't use them. The interaction was fine. We got an impression that the person doing the quoting wasn't the person who did the work. They couldn't point out some of the things that the other contractors pointed out in terms of things we needed to make sure got done when we did the job we got quoted for. The reason we didn't go with them was more because of not having any interaction with the person doing the work. The other people seemed knowledgeable. This person might not have seemed as knowledgeable simply because he did quotes as opposed to doing the actual work. We possibly would use them to get another quote in the future.

It was more work than I thought it would be. There was a fair amount of rot in both the door frame and the outset. Was consulted on painting and verified that paints selected were the ones desired before completing. Site was thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. Work is of first quality.

The one person I have been speaking to is the owner and he has done a phenomenal job in terms of relationship management, flexibility, and working with me. I haven?t seen a whole bunch of information out there but he has done a lot in terms of building a relationship with me and I am leaning towards using them. They haven?t completed the work but at this point I am pleased with them.

We were very happy with them, and continue to be happy. Although the weather prevented them from applying the second coat of paint on the roof, they are coming back this spring to finish up. Their price was competitive, and they were extremely responsive. I have referred them and I couldn?t be happier with them.

We've used them on 2 different occasions, however the story I need to share with all goes like this. When we moved into our house we use the local vendor to replace our roof, 5 years later we have leaks in several area in the attic. Additionally, I had a brown leak ring in the corner ceiling in bedroom. I called Exterior Medics because they had done work for us in the past. They came out, took pictures, confirmed that they "new" roof had a few issues such as, not having the drip/ice plate near the gutter, low nails throughout the entire roof, and other problems that will eventually cause us problems in the near future. I called the original roofing company - and they gave me an incredible hard time (will be writing their review after this one). Point is - Mark from Exterior Medics explained to me in detail the problem with my roof, help me even try to talk the other company with hopes they would honor their warranty, and gave me a good price to fix the problem should I find myself in a bind where the other company would not make good on the Roof Warranty. Mark was more than a consultant --- he was a trusted advisor, and provided assistance beyond what any company I've ever worked with. I will have to say this - The entire team there is pleasant to work with. Also - I have to say - even the woman who answers the phone, makes you feel like you're family!!! I highly recommend them in general you will not be disappointed. You will find yourself using this company for years to come!
