Exterior Medics

Due to rain, scheduling issues and more rain and other problems, (mostly mother nature but some were my issues) the work was never done. We agreed that they could inspect the roof at anytime they desire and send a telephone or written report to me. After several requests, the roof was never inspected and no report issued. One year later, no report has been received.

Great experience. Started early and went into the evening, so it was dark when they finished. As a result, the clean-up left a bit to be desired, but other than that, nothing but praise. Recommended.

The exterior Hardy Board installation was very good - timely and professionally done.The interior finishing of the screen porch was very spotty. It seemed that they did not understand how to do finish carpentry. The work dragged on for many months, and was full of problems, from ordering the wrong materials to not knowing what the correct order was for installing flooring, windows, inside panelling, etc. I would definitely use them for the exterior work, but not for the interior work.

Had an excellent experience from the estimate to the completion of the work. The work was done just before Hurricane Sandy arrived and my house stayed dry. Best customer service I have experienced with any company.

So this is an update to my original post. My original post gave the company an overall rating of C. My problem was that I felt the estimator pushed an entire roof replacement rather than leak repair and the repair estimate was significantly higher than others. (Other roofers stated I did not need a new roof.) The owner of the company read my post then called me right away. He was not happy with my post and asked the most shocking question I've heard in a while, "I apologize for your trouble. How can I make it better?". Well of course I was seriously skeptical. He was adamant about coming out, viewing the roof for himself and fixing the problem. Mr LeVecchi arrived on time and immediately got to crawling around the attic then the roof. He understood his estimator's reasoning but agreed it was a bit over kill....he attributed this to the estimator's inexperience and will use this situation as a learning experience for them all. Mr. LeVecchi found the exact area that was causing the problem and offered to repair the area at cost and provide a written warranty for the repair. My first mind was to not respond to Mr. LeVecchi's voicemail but since he seemed sincere I figured I would at least hear him out...boy I'm glad I did. Not just cause of the price but because he actually found the exact problem area. Of the three companies that have come out, he was the only one to actually LIFT UP the shingles to see what was going on. The other estimates encompassed the problem area but the prices reflected ice/water shield and new shingles in a huge area as they believed the leak came from the peak and rolled down. So folks....I would most definitely use this company again. And if you get a young estimator who gives you a price you may think is off, relay this to the home office. I believe Mr. LeVecchi would be very interested in hearing your thoughts.

Very responsive. My first contact was early on the morning after Hurricane Sandy had moved up the coast. That day a team came out and placed a tarp on the roof to protect the house. After the insurance adjustor had completed his assessment and Exterior medics had provided an estimate they indicated it would be another week to ten days before the repair work could be completed due the work they already had scheduled. A few days later Exterior Medics called and asked if they could complete the repairs on the 6th because they were concerned the tarp might be ripped off the house due to the high wind forecast from the storm moving up the coast. They arrived as promised and completed the work by mid-afternoon. We are very satisfied with their work and will continue to use them for future exterior maintenance and unforseen repairs.

Everything well as planned. The technician did an excellent job.

The initial meeting with the representative was on time and a complete inspection of the roof performed went very quickly and identification of problems, illustrated with pictures, allowed a quick program to repair, etc. to be prepared and agreed to. Installation of the program was equally satisfactory.

The chimney job was done first, so as not to damage the new roof. Prior to the beginning of the job, we received a call telling us who would be doing the job, how long it would take, and when they would arrive. It all went just as explained. The chimney crew arrived on time and prepared. They found, however, that it would not be possible to match the color of our old brick exactly -- the house is 65 years old -- so they saved as many of the old bricks as they could. They removed the damaged concrete crown and flue and replaced them. They placed the non-matching bricks on a surface where they were much less obvious and used the matching bricks on the visible faces of the rebuilt chimney. It looks beautiful, as if it had been there all along. Also, because fewer bricks were bought for the repair than planned, the company credited us for those not used. They were careful, clean, and communicative. We couldn't have asked for more. The roofing job seemed to us like it would take a long time and be a big mess, but that was not the case. Once again, the crew introduced themselves, told us exactly how it would go, and said they would be done in one day. Our house has no easy access to the back or side yards, so the crew covered the shrubs carefully.and used tarps to catch the removed roofing. Everyone was focused on the job and they worked quickly and well. Because we have gutter covers, they had to remove them and store them while the roof was replaced, which they did carefully. They even repaired a dent in one of the covers, replacing them when the new roof was in place. When the prior owners replaced the roof, they had installed a ridge vent. Unfortunately, the vent was placed directly over the ridge beam, so there was no ventilation where it was supposed to be most efficient, something Exterior Medics discovered when they assessed the attic for possible wood damage before making the estimate. So they removed the ridge vent and installed an attic fan instead. Some minor repairs were needed to the boards under the roof, and Exterior Medics replaced them with boards that matched the originals, instead of using plywood substitute. That was very much appreciated. The entire job was handled professionally and cleanly. When it was done, they cleaned the area thoroughly and used a magnet broom to pick up all the stray nails. Afterward, we found only one missed nail. Special kudos should go to Tom, the estimator who went to great lengths to make sure we were happy with our options for the job, and Joe, the executive who made it his business to see that we were informed and satisfied, even to the point of calling or e-mailing well after his work day had ended, because that's when we were available. The crews were amazingly knowledgeable and careful, and kept us informed as the job progressed. Altogether, it was a far better experience than we could have imagined. We would recommend Exterior Medics to anyone. In fact, we have a second small job pending with them now.

There was an extra $1200 charge when they needed to reframe the flat carport roof to give it an adequate drainage slope. After the work was complete, they came back to realign an area that was puddling. We do not have gutters, the drains are internal to the roof, set back a foot or so from the roof edge. Since the house is old, there was much settling and it was difficult to realign the proper drainage slopes. They did a wonderful job on the toughest areas. Just needed to tweak one puddling spot. The company and particularly the owner, Joe, was very responsive to make sure that everything was done to my complete satisfaction. I give them very high marks. I recommended them to my next door neighbor who has a similar roof style.

Two of my neighbors had used Exterior Medics to replace their roofs so I had them and one other company come out to give me estimates. Tom from Exterior Medics showed up on schedule and was very professional and thorough, not "dummying it down" for me. He took pictures, went through them with me, pointing out what the issues were and providing an estimate for patch repair as well as total replacement. I had written proposals emailed to me the same day. The other company refused to put anything in writing (?) and was very sketchy when they knew I was getting a second quote. The price was reasonable and I contracted for the work for the roof replacement. The crew showed up as scheduled and was very professional. The project manager called me several times throughout the day to let me know how the work was going and followed up with me afterward to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. Everyone from Exterior Medics was very professional and I felt like they took great pride in working for the company. I wish all experiences with contractors could be this positive. Highly recommend.

Exterior Medics was very thorough in prepping the windows for painting. Because the house is old (120+), they took extra precaution to ensure that any lead paint was contained. The paint job looks great! The top railings on the wrought iron steps had separated from the brick front. Exterior Medics leveled the railings, cemented them back into the brick front, aligned the escutcheon plates against the brick and added waterproof caulking around the plates to give them a finished appearance.

The roof inspector arrived on time. He inspected the roof and took pictures of the roof to share with me.

They also did some additional work. They did a great job and I am very much happy with their services.

I contacted Exterior Medics for an estimate for a small repair on my front siding. They made an appointment for me and came out within a couple days. They even called the day before to make sure that the appointment was still a good time for me.The estimator was punctual, well dressed and professional. He explained the problem to me in detail and then explained how it would be repaired.However, after the estimator left my neighbor came over and proceded to fix the siding by pushing it back in. Stan, my neighbor, explained to me that this might not be a permanent fix!Joe, the owner of Exterior Medics made a follow-up call the next morning (yea, I was surprised too)! Upon hearing of my neighbor's fix, Joe offered to have his crew that was in the area stop by check out the repair to see if it needed more reinforcement. Now I hope you are sitting down because this offer came FREE OF CHARGE! I almost dropped the phone!It is unusual these days for an owner of a company to make a follow-up call much less help a homeowner out Free of Charge! I'm very impressed with the owners' of Exterior Medics and their hands on approach to doing business!

These guys are great. Oscar performed the inspection and estimate in a timely manner. At no time did I feel pressured. Theres alot of bs contractors out there but these guys arent one of them.

I have a 3-story house with three separate flat roofs. The roof requiring replacement was on the front, second story, of the house. Some years ago, a different roofing company improperly installed shingles on this flat roof. As expected, the roof eventually started to leak. I meet with Tom Green who made himself available to meet with me on a Saturday. This was not a day Exterior Medics arranges inspections (thanks again Tom!). After thoroughly inspecting the roof, Tom e-mailed me an estimate, included a discount (which was greatly appreciated), and scheduled the work within two days of signing the contract. The roofers completed the job in one day and the roof looks great! I would definitely use Exterior Medics again and highly recommend them.

They did an excellent job. Their office staff was pleasant and the boss was pleasant and they were all very helpful. Their prices were reasonable.

Oscar was quick to come out and provide the estimate. He was prompt, friendly, and professional. He did not have the correct ladder size to get up on my roof to look at things and especially since he was by himself, he stated that he would have to come back with a partner and the correct ladder to get up there to look (that has happened before and not surprising so I was fine with it). He said he would be back the following week. When one week went by and I hadn't heard from him, I called to find out when he would be there. He was out of the office that day but the lady who took the message stated that she would have him call me. I never heard back from him, never received the estimate, and ultimately went with another company.

Inspection, estimate and explanation of repairs were very professional and accurate. Oscar showed up on time and was very good and reviewing all the necessary work with no pressure sales tactics.The work was done in a neat and professional manner. We are very satisfied.

I can not say more positive things about the company-from the workmanship to the customer service, everything was OUTSTANDING. After receiving quotes from other companies, I was happy with the pricing and the professionalism of the salesman. After initially getting a quote for entire vinyl siding replacement, new gutters, cladding and windows, I explained that it was a little more than I could afford at the time. So, we chose to repair the places where my siding was rotting and fix the probem-the gutter. The crew came out on time and did a fantastic job and I am totally impressed with their cratsmanship and professionalism. Let me tell you, finding a good company like this is a gem! The crew cut out the rotting sections of siding and replaced the wood. Not only that, they repainted areas they repaired! I am extremely pleased that the repairs were seamless--you can not even tell a difference (IN A GOOD WAY)! They removed my old gutter completely, installed vinyl soffit vents and cladded the fascia. Then they installed the gutters and everything looks fantastic.But, they didn't finish there. The crew went out of their way and installed a screen that had blown off of one of my upstairs windows and even removed a birdsnest from an exhaust vent because they were already up on the ladder and it made sense to do it. How many contractors do this? When they were finished, they cleaned up all the debris and left the rear patio area better than it was when they got here.What impresses me the most besides the wonderful job they did, is that they didn't turn down my business when I was unable to afford the larger more expensive job. They are working with me and are going to do the work in phases as I can afford them to eventually complete the entire installation of the siding, gutters, and cladding. That, my friends, is how you secure future business from myself and anyone I find out who is in the market for any of this company's services. As it is, I will be eventually replacing my windows and the other projects mentioned earlier so I will DEFINITELY be utilizing the services of this company. BTW, I received a warranty certificate in the mail today and included was a thank you card signed by the crew and project manager. How awesome is that? Thank you guys...see you soon!

Estimator & later workmen arrived on time. Workmen(2) did work quickly & cleaned up.

Overall very poorly. The estimate process fine with plan, but when the work started the on site foreman, changed the plans. Did not complete the work, did other things incorrectly, poorly and left the property with construction debris remaining. It was a long arduous process but, Mark, did ensure that the work was eventually done properly with no additional cost. I thanked him personally for this, however it should have never taken that to get the job done right.

Oscar came out to inspect the outside of my house as I needed a quote for trim repair and exterior painting. I walked around with Oscar for approx. 20 minutes; he said that he would provide a quote within a week. I have yet to hear back from Oscar or anyone at Exterior Medics with a quote. I chose another company and they have completed the work.
