Exterior Medics

Repair of damaged chimney mortar (repointing and remortaring), as well as repair of roofing that had been installed improperly by a prior contractor. Everything was done on time and with little fuss; all staff were very professional from the initial estimate, to showing photos of the proposed work, the the staff who were on site, to cleanup. I would recommend them to anyone.

Inspected everything. Was on time. And curteous. Didn't recommend any work. Nit really worth the price of the inspection

Repaired a portion of the roof where we had a leak. ********update*********** The next time it rained hard, the leak was back! They came out again and said we really needed caulking around the pipe and set up a new appointment. That was subsequently done and we were no charged. No refund for the new roof tho !

They were fine and did a great job. They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They were thorough. They got the inspection done in about 45 minutes. The scheduling was great and they came right out. It was a great value.

It was a great experience. Estimator came the day after I called to survey the project and provide an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and provided a detailed estimate within a few days via email. Crew chief was very professional and knowledgeable. Full job was completed in one day, as promised - on time and on budget. The new siding is beautiful. I highly recommend Exterior Medics.

The work was done perfectly. They were able to come at an earlier date which we welcomed. The work was done as scheduled and the yard was clean when they left. Our home looked like they never were here, other than the problem was fixed. After the work was done, they followed up with us to confirm the work was done to our satisfaction and provided us with before and after pictures. We were fortunate to have a significant rain storm shortly after the repair, which quickly confirmed the problem was fixed. Thank you Mother Nature!

Mark diagnosed the problem and provided us with a detailed estimate. With our approval, Exterior Medics production sheduled and performed the work. The work was done when it was scheduled. We did not have to be home, so we were not inconvenienced at all. The work was done and cleaned up in a way that allowed us to see the results, which were excellent, without experiencing any of the construction hassle. The project lead walked us through the work performed after it was completed. All work was performed as specified in the estimate and the results are outstanding in both appearance and performance (nothing leaks). There were no hidden costs or surprises. They warranty their work, but I do not aticipate calling them back for this project.

I had requested a quote for replacing two aging attic fans (one was not working and the other was on its last days--very noisy motor) on our 25-year old house. I was not looking for the most expensive fan on the market, but something that would retail in the $100-$200 range from a HD/Lowes type of store. Exterior Medic provided a quote of ~$1400 to replace both, which I thought was very expensive and mentioned it to the Salesman that came out for the quote. The Exterior Medic Salesperson indicated they needed to markup the retail price as well as add on for travel time and job time. Again, I thought this was excessive for a product the should retail for less then $200 and probably closer to $100-$150. I'm glad I contacted another Angie's list A-grade provider, that gave me a much better quote over the phone for their standard attic fan replacement job(with caveat that if the installer saw something that would push the price higher while on site--they would confirm with me before starting the job). I got both attic fans replaced for $850 ($425/fan) with a decent fan produced by Airvent and was happy to have checked and gotten the 2nd quote from this provider. I would highly recommend getting a 2nd if considering to use Exterior Medics as I don't believe they are the most competitive when it comes to price when compared to other Angie's List A-graded provider(s) on a standard job. Not having used them I cannot comment on their quality of workmanship--but they seem to have gotten good reviews in that area. In the areas of being punctual, professional and responsive I would rate them as good as the Salesperson was very upfront with what they offered and was right on-time and professional in providing the quote.

There were some initial scheduling issues, but once they got started the job was handled very professionally. They were on the job when they said they would be, gave plenty of notice, and completed close to promised date. All their staff were very courteous, and took care to keep the work site clean and orderly, protecting all nearby landscaping in the process. I especially appreciated their efforts to re-create all the detailed trim we previously had around door and windows.

It went pretty well. They're not the cheapest, but they did pretty good work.

It took forever to set up a date for the replacement. They were on time but only the foreman could speak english. From the start I told everyone I own basset hounds and the cleanup was most important. I also have a generator on the side of the house. The area was not checked and they threw the roof debris over the side and landed on the propane cylinders making a dangerous situation. They worked all day and did a very sloppy sweep with a metal detector. There were nails, staples, and slivers of wood all over the ground. The roof was done well and there were no leaks. The final inspection was done but the foreman came out a day late. After many inquiries into my bill the responsiveness was very poor when it came to the final bill and any additional charges. The foreman was appalled with the amount of nails and debris found with the correct sweep of the metal detector. We both agree it was a good job done with the roof but when they do not clean up on a daily basis that is not a good recommendation of the crew. I am unsure if I will use this compony again. I don't like to be negative but I'm by myself and i have lost my husband to cancer years ago and taking care of a house ain't easy. For the most part companies have been helpful, sour taste good product for money what i went through was not pleasant.

When shopping for a new roof I sought several quotes from various GAF Master Elite roofers. This was not your typical roof since we have a contemporary home. When we started getting quotes we thought we would just ?get a new roof? as most companies quoted us. Tom from Exterior Medics did a very through pre-inspection and assessment. After we met with Tom we realized we had larger issues. Most of these were not new to us since they were discovered in our real estate inspection. Tom provided a very detailed estimate and quote. We had mold in the attic, critters living there too (and in the cathedral ceiling), no baffles on the cathedral, not enough soffit vents and a sloping covered entry (creating a hump in the roof). On top of that, we had an electrician installing can lights in the ceiling and I was replacing the insulation in the attic. Tom said that his team would work with us and our electrician while installing the roof, something the other roofers did not want to entertain. The best part was he quoted a total package so there would be no surprises come bill time. On the first day, a crew of 8-9 workmen showed up early and started right away. There were a few issues I had with how the roof replacement went, the foremen (Caesar and Isae) were very professional and made sure the job was completed flawlessly. They, and the crews, on both days were always very pleasant and helpful, even offering to assist me when I was replacing my insulation. Never did I feel that my presence nor constant questions upset or annoy the roofers, again, they were well trained and very professional. The clean-up was impeccable and we had more than your average roof mess when we added bags of insulation removal, two layers of old roof and almost all new plywood. I did not find a single nail in my driveway. Joe, the owner, came by several times as did Tom and a slew of quality inspectors. Joe and Tom made it a point to spend a good part of their time to ensure that I, the customer, was fully satisfied with their work. They even called to follow up with my wife to make sure she was happy. We paid a little more than our other quotes, but it was worth it for the extra service we received, and what I believe is a superior level of quality which will pay off in the long run. It was a pleasure to work with a company that cared about their product, their reputation and most importantly, their customers. I look forward to using Exterior Medics for my Hardie Siding.

They were excellent. The quality of work was very good. They answered all my questions and very knowledgable. They cleaned up perfectly. I also recommended them to my neighbor.

Ours was a bit complicated, as it involved a claim with our homeowners insurance following damage to our home as a result of hail damage.We had some issues that took a great deal of time to resolve. We were working with both the insurance company and Exterior Medics trying to come to an agreeable, fair price. At the end of the day, they did a great job. Mark Watson, part owner of the company, worked very hard to make me happy and that was challenging, as I am not always the easiest to work with! Very professional. The roofing and siding installations were completed in 5 days. The chimney repairs took a few hours the week before. All crews were on time and excellent; these were different personnel, not the same crew doing all 3 jobs. We had 4 bids for this work. Exterior Medics was not the lowest bid, but very competitive. We were impressed by the professionalism of the sales person, Tom Green. His presentation of what they would do was very thorough. He examined the roof and siding situation closely. He raised special problem areas and what they would do the resolve such issues. We definitely would use them for any future projects; we only wish that they did interior work (bathrooms, kitchens, etc.) Daryl and Janice Settle

The guys were great and the roof looks awesome.

The representative seemed knowledgeable and did some minor repairs that were necessary. He gave us an assessment of what would be needed as far as repairs and also estimates for those repairs and for a full re-roofing. The estimates seemed fair and there was no hard sell involved. I feel he provided a valuable service at a fair price with the big deal. It bought us a little time for making bigger repairs and gave us a good idea of what was needed so we could budget for it.

Everything was done very well. The painting was the only thing that wasn’t at its best. In general, I have been very happy with their service.

This is a very mixed review because what work was completed was on time and of satisfactory quality. Most of our problems came from what appears to be adminstrative problems. We called for a quote to have two gutters sealed, dry rot repaired on some siding, dry rot repaired at the back door, have weatherstrip replaced on that same door and replacement of warped vinyl siding. The appointment was scheduled for about 1130 on a weekday. I arrived at home and waited. No one arrived and one hour into the wait I called their office. I eventually spoke to the estimator (you know, the one I was supposed to meet at my home!!!!) who told me he had already come by and looked at some of the issues. After some discussion, it also came out that he had not examined the gutters (bad weather) and probably had not examined all areas of dry rot concern. I asked why I was not notified he had been there and he said he forgot his cell phone or that it didn't work. To be honest, had I not been up against a severe time requirement (house being sold) I would have not bothered with them further. To help things along, I went out and took photos of the work areas to be covered so the estimator could come back out the following workday and finish the estimate. That was done. During the estimate process, we discussed the challenge of matching siding on a 9 year old home. I called the HOA and eventually had to call the builder, eventually identifying the make and color of the siding. That was passed to the estimator right away. It wasn't easy to get the information and took me some time but I thought it was worth it. I also confirmed through e-mail the scope of the work, including the door strip (this will come up again). I was eventually informed the production crew would call and schedule an appointment. Nearly two weeks went by and and not a peep out of them. I called and was connected to a scheduler and scheduled the work right away. I wonder today how much longer it would have been if I just waited. The morning of the work came and the crew arrived on time. The foreman showed me the siding they brought....wrong color and style. It turns out they were not provided the information I worked so hard to obtain. I also asked about the door stripping and was told they were not told to do that. They completed the remaining work and it looks fine. I had a subsequent discussion with Boris and he indicated they would have to order the correct siding. He also indicated they could install the door sweep at the same time and would also credit our account with $50. After two weeks the siding arrived and it matched perfectly. I also canceled the door sweep work but that was me, not them. In summary, there are obvious issues on their admininstrative end and that's enough for me to not use them again. The work actually completed was okay but it was very painful getting there.
