The representative came and laid low-tech traps but described their functions. I also had several back-and-forths with the company on why I needed an entirely new termite installation when I already had a system in place. The representative came back on a sweltering day and patiently explained the difference in the new system, which I then approved for installation.

I called for an appointment because I heard some scratching on the door to the attic. The woman I spoke with was very nice and told me if it was a squirrel, they could not help me and that someone that handles wildlife would need to be called. She asked me more questions about the sound and told me it didn't sound like it was a squirrel. The next available time was 8:00-10:00 the following morning. Gary showed up around 9:00 and quickly told me he wasn't allow to enter the attic. I was confused because the person I spoke with the day before never told me they couldn't enter the attic. He walked around my house and pointed to some places where he thought the squirrel would get in. He said it probably was a squirrel and they couldn't take care of them. I started to get the impression this company wasn't interested in helping me. Both Gary and the woman I spoke with to schedule the appointment were very pleasant, but wish they would have just told me to call someone else because it cost me time off work and I still need to get the problem addressed.

Treatment and repeats have proven effective. We are notified in advance when the technician will come again.

I got estimates from three companies. I was really impressed with ProTech. The representative was very professional I don't know how helpful the price quoted is because the other companies offered different services. I didn't get them from Angie's List. I thought I heard some evidence of vermin in the attic so I called some companies to come out. The first two companies said essentially that I needed to replace all of the insulation in the attic, that I needed to replace all the wiring. They were quoting prices for about $4,000. The ProTech guy came out and said, "Hey look, I don't see any evidence of a full infestation, just mice that came in because the weather had turned cold. I think we just need to do some monitoring, set some traps, maybe some sticky strips out." To do that would only cost me $420. Whereas the other guys were talking about several thousands dollars for the kind of work they were recommending, The more conservative approach seemed more appropriate. I did not call back the other people, and again, these are not people I got from Angie's List. But, I did not get the chance to call the other people back to get an estimate on what their comparable cost would be on the more conservative approach. I was impressed with ProTech because the guy seemed to have a lot of experience. He took a look and said, "Just from what I see, just from what it smells like, it doesn't seem like you have an infestation." That alone told me that this was somebody who'd been around, who'd been doing this work for a while and could figure out what was really going on. From that standpoint, the ProTech people made a very, very positive impression on me. I can't really compare them with the other folks because, again, they're recommending different work. I don't know if that's what their management is pushing them to do or not. ProTech I was very impressed with. I did not, I don't believe, get any estimates from anyone else on Angie's List. I got the impression that ProTech doesn't even do that kind of (insulation and wiring replacement) work. They stick to battling the pest control problem. Then again, I guess that they would refer other companies, if that were the case. The person that came out, E. George, I was very impressed with him. He was very professional. He spoke in a forthright manner. He seemed to know what he was talking about. It may have been all artifice and acting, but the fact that he came up here, actually sniffed around, said that it didn't even smell like an infestation, told me that he's firing on all four cylinders. He could have come out sooner than he did, but he fit my schedule. My schedule was such that I had to postpone it. He was definitely on time. I got the estimate a couple of months ago and I haven't moved forward on that. It's wmy mother's house, she's living in assisted living. I'm sort of neglecting my responsibilities. I haven't heard any further evidence of mice in the attic. But, this happened in November or December when we had a cold snap and Mr. George commented, saying, "What probably happened is that we had this cold snap and to keep the pipes from freezing, the heat's been on in the house. So the mice probably found their way into the attic." When the weather changed back, maybe they vacated or the sticky strips we put up there took care of them. I don't know. But I do need to move forward with this and I have not. The only thing I've done is gotten some estimates. I can't comment on anything else on ProTech. If I move forward, I'll definitely consider going to them first.

No show due to a "technical glitch". Technician apparently never received notification on his phone that I was on the schedule. Took off from work, waited patiently during my 2 hour window, and finally called the company for a status update. Once I was told that they were having trouble locating the technician I knew I they were going to be a no show. Tried rescheduling for today but lost all confidence and trust in company. Front office staff seemed responsive but sorry I can only rate the company based on the service they provided and that did not occur.

The gentleman was very professional, evaluated our situation and explained what he was going to do and what we could do ourselves.

I was looking for a service and I decided on them.

It went very well. On the first visit, the tech toured the house, explained everything he was doing and was very friendly and professional. We purchased a yearly plan of six visits.

It worked out well. What they did was they didn't just come in to spray, they looked around and tried to see where they were coming in. They found some holes near the washing machine, they found some holes near a window and they plugged them up. They didn't just come in to spray and walk out after 15 minutes. They looked to find the cause so that really impressed me.

They were very good about it. They became a bit expensive than what the deal was. The problem that I had was solved. I didn't have any problem anymore.

Charlie came by to check things out after we had evidence of a mouse. I showed him pictures of the droppings and he did a quick tour of the house. He concluded we likely had a drive by visitor since we didn't have any additional droppings after I cleaned up the first bit. He showed us likely points of entry, gave us a few recommendations, and said our dogs likely scared it away. Charlie chatted with us about half an hour and refused to charge us for the consultation. While I certainly hope I don't ever need his services again, I will definitely call him and recommend to others. Oh, and he was on time - I was five minutes late because I never expected him to show up right on the dot when we had been given a three hour window. Awesome all around!

Service went superb. Charles was knowledgeable and efficient. He came and explained what he was using, what he was doing and what we should expect to see in the coming weeks. Knowing the process and seeing that same process take place was perfect. After he sprayed he told us that the problem should be completely taken care of and that I will see a few stragglers for about two weeks. Its almost one week and I am only seeing 1-2 ants on my property when before it was a Thousands! I am extremely happy with the service and will definitely use them again in the future!

I spent weeks trying all sorts of DIY ant elimination solutions but with no success; they kept coming back in the droves. We decided to bite the bullet, but we couldn't be happier with the results. We compared with Holiday Pest Control and decided to go with Protech. Protech's cost was $189 for the initial visit then $70 every 2 months. The technician was pleasant and courteous during the estimate. We then had him come out to start the service a couple weeks later. We only noticed a handful of ants after a few hours of the visit - a significant different. Then after 2 days, our ant problem was totally eliminated - what a relief! The technician also addressed our annoying bee problem and placed low-visibility "pest monitors" around the perimeter of the house, which I presume will assist him in subsequent visits. We were a little concerned about the effects on our pets, but they informed us that the pesticides would be harmless to them. If you have an significant pest problem, I highly recommend getting a professional. Overall rating: Excellent!

Pro Tech did a terrific job. Technician was punctual, professional and exceptionally diligent. He was very attentive to any possible signs of pests or termites and exercised a level of focus and diligence seldom seen. He applied external and internal preventative treatments to our home and we have actually not seen anything since. We have signed up for an annual treatment contract with them and would recommend them wholeheartedly to others. Well done.

We first contacted ProTech Pest along with a number of other pest control companies in the area because we were having a really difficult time with figuring out the source of drain flies that we could not get under control. We had a number of pest control companies tell us that they treated for drain flies, but it was ProTech alone that insisted that they could not "treat" them and that we would likely need to do some pretty invasive plumbing investigations to figure out the source of the fly problem. The technician - Marvin - said, "I could sell you a pest control package, but that's not how I do business, and it wouldn't get rid of your drain fly problem. They are evidence of a plumbing problem, or a standing water problem, a sewage leak, etc., but not a pest problem. I'm afraid your next step is the jackhammer." And he was right. We had to do some seriously big house work, but that was the only way to get rid of those flies. I contacted ProTech once more to inspect for another bug - termite this time. True to form, Marvin was incredibly knowledgeable, answering my many questions, and also refused to prey on my fears just to sell me something. I cannot speak more highly about that as a business practice, and he and ProTech have earned my trust. I highly recommend them.

ProTech technician arrived on time and began applying granules and spraying around foundation of house before I arrived. He also reviewed the insect we had seen flying inside the house to determine it was not termites (but ants). He sprayed inside around fireplace where we thought the ants were entering the house. He checked basement areas to confirm no evidence of termites. So far we have not seen any additional insects in the house.
