+ -1 moreThe whole package that we got works well for us. They responded immediately and had someone out almost the next day. We used them for a termite inspection for a house closing and we just kept them for maintenance. I felt like the person who came the first time was very professional and extremely well versed in what he was talking about. They are always prompt and I get a card in the mail saying when they are coming. It is easy to pay because I don’t have to have a check; I can just call them and pay over the phone. Everything is efficient and easy.

Description of Work: The service call individual was so prompt that he was ahead of time, which was fine w. me. Very professional and very knowledgeable. Had brochures, answered any and all questions, and explained the process, cost, etc. A few days later, I called w. additional questions. The call back was within the same day, a few hours. Thorough responses and very professional. The service appointment was set promptly, within 15 min. of the request to set it up. I received a follow-on reminder call the day or two before the appointment! The service man arrived promptly, explained what he was going to do, went about his business explaining as he went and then went outside to proceed to do his work. When he was done, he explained what he had done and where the bug feeding stations were set, doing a map of all of them. The one thing that I was not aware of was that they would be very visible in the front garden area although he and I worked out that I could cover the feeding stations and he would know where they were from his map. Other than that, it was a very timely, prompt, and thorough service call. The individual was very responsive to questions and made sure to wear covered booties in my home. I was very impressed with the overall service.

+ -1 moreThey started the treatment last July and I've had them out three or four times now. They are very thorough and credential. They are very impressive and prompt. All the technicians I've worked with have been easy to deal with and seemed really concerned about my problem. They were creative in their approaches and treatments. They are very knowledgeable and they also have a bed bug sniffing dog. I think she did a good job but I don't know why she declared as clean several months ago and now they are back again.
Description of Work: ProTech Termite & Pest Control came out in March for bed bug treatment.

+ -1 moreI spent $125 on that service. They are very professional. I think that they maybe a little more expensive than some, but they are absolutely worth it. George is the guy that comes out and he is excellent. In fact one time he did not come out, so they rescheduled so he would. I have a contract with them and they will come again next week.
Description of Work: I use Protech Pest Control for pest control. The last time I used them was last month and they checked the termite stations, check rodent boxes, spray for ants, the look around for carpenter bugs and do a thorough check to see if they need to be inside as well as out.

+ -1 moreThe tech came out a few days later to spray the outside. They do not spray the inside unless you request it. The first spraying did not take care of the ant issues. We had them come out a second time to spray the inside and this too did not take care of the issue. A third trip to spray the inside and outside took care of the problem. We were a little disappointed that it took 3 trips to fix the issue; however, they have really good customer service and the tech was very nice each time he came out.
Description of Work: We had an ant issue at our home so we contacted them. The sales person came and inspected our house and recommended the annual pest control program. He appeared very knowledgeable so we signed up for the plan. I originally wanted the quarterly plan but the sales person said that they don't offer that anymore b/c it does not work well to control the bugs.

+ -1 moreWe have a service plan with them and I need to call them to come back and do an inspection. They are excellent and absolutely wonderful. Anytime we have called them they came promptly and dealt with the problem. They are very responsive and their prices are good.

+ 0 moreCalled to have someone come for removal or trap setting for rodent. Was told that an "inspector" had to first come to do an "inspection", then another appointment would have to be set for a "technician" to do the treatment. I then asked why the two appointments and whether the "inspector" was the salesman and was told yes. Clear that the company is focused on selling contracts primarily and not servicing the customer. I have a rodent (I believe a rat or mouse that entered through the door) running around in a rather small house with two children and myself. Do they really think I'm best served by spending several more nights in the house while they make sales pitches? This might work for minor pest problems, but not animal removal. Completely unacceptable. By the way, most companies could not send someone the same day, but all the others I called in my area (about 3 other calls) could get someone to my house the next day and do whatever treatment necessary. I'm sure they will try to sell contracts, too, but at least I will have my immediate problem addressed.

+ -1 moreI'm moving into an older apartment and didn't want to rely on the inhouse exterminating service. Pro-Tech came in, talked to me about my needs and concerns, told me that the apartment was clear of pests (a relief and clear evidence they weren't trying to sell me bogus services), and the carefully explained how things would work and what I could expect. They were prompt both for the estimate and then for the service later the same week. When I got back I found the service sheet and a extra comment on the bottom from George, the guy who did the work, saying "fantastic colors. very spring like." regarding my freshly painted walls. That extra touch made me feel like I wasn't just another customer. I'll update this if service degrades over time but my initial contact with them was very positive.

Description of Work: Marvin did a detailed review of all possible pest problems while walking the perimeter of our home,, and made excellent and highly detailed drawings of what he found. His assessment was very thorough, professional. and comprehensive in scope. He submitted an estimate for complete pest removal and a regular spray maintenance program.

Description of Work: I use Protech Termite Control for a termite control system installed around the perimeter of my home. The system was installed when I purchased the home 10 years agao and I have always maintained it. The fee is an annual fee for monthly/quarterly inspection and action as needed.

They are very responsive when we have any unexpected issues such as a mouse or ants. The person that comes out is very friendly. The previous owner had suggested we use them. They had used them for the termite monitoring. They are professional, friendly and honest.

They explained how they would go about the extermination service. The estimate was for around $189. We were pretty satisfied with what they did, but felt their estimate was a bit on the higher side. We didn't use their service only because it was not required at that time.

+ -1 moreProTech has been doing our pest control for almost a year now. We signed up for a monthly visit program after we had some ants coming into the house. Their one year rate was much better than others we saw, and their service guys have been really great. They come out if we have any issues, or show up periodically to check everything proactively. This is a new branch for ProTech that has started in the Winchester/Berryville area, so they serve us in outer Loudoun. They've been very easy to work with and very nice.
Description of Work: ProTech does a whole line of pest control, working inside and outside. They spray for and manage everything from Bears to Termites. Well, maybe not bears. They have specific plans to treat pest situations individually and they have time period plans to protect the house over time. We have a year-long plan.

A technician came to the house within a day or two and gave me an estimate ($189 for an initial treatment and 7 followup treatments for $70 each). The initial treatment seems to be working. I have seen only a few roaches since the treatment. The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable and explained how the treatment will work.

They always notify us when they are coming. They are considerate if they can't make an appointment time.

+ -1 moreThere was evidence when I first bought the house that termites might have been there at sometime in the 20 years or so since this house was built but there was no active evidence. I had it done because the seller agreed to pay for it. I use them because of a force of habit, I think. Once they put those little things in it is kind of hard to stop. I have mixed feelings about whether I should have done it that way. The problem with this kind of thing is that there is nothing wrong and therefore it is working, but would it be okay if they weren?t here? You can never tell. I think that they are a little high on price - I pay them $125 every couple of months. They have done well when they have found something like spiders. They are very responsive too. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: I have an ongoing contract with Protech Pest Control for termites and other vermin. They come over once every two months. They have installed termite stations around the house. They just inspect them and replenish them if necessary, look for evidence of any other kind of infestation, and treat them if they have to.

+ -1 moreVery well. Pro-tech visits about every 10 weeks to check and bait traps and spray if necessary. I opted against interior spraying because of small children in the home, but exterior appears to be sufficient. We haven't had any mice since engaging them, but we'll see how effective the traps are come winter. The salesperson was very professional and so is the technician. They notify me with a postcard when they are going to visit next. I don't have to be home but then, of course, they can't check the interior if I'm not. I would prefer a phone call closer to the date, because I have already misplaced the postcard, which came many weeks in advance of the next date.

+ -1 moreThe ProTech office personnel were efficient and professional, but the company failed with the actual service. The requirement was for a single treatment for outdoor ants, crickets, and water bugs. After a scheduling shuffle on the part of the field/ service employee, an initial visit was set up. On that first visit the employee wanted me to sign up for a plan that consisted of an initial $125 treatment with an additional $70 every two months after that. I understand that bugs do come back but know I only want one treatment. I declined the plan and accepted a single treatment priced at $125. An appointment was set by the service person which he did not show up for. A second treatment appointment was set up and he did not show up for that either. I waited four hours the first Saturday, and one hour the next Saturday. I then called ProTech and left a voice message canceling the treatment. There is a disconnect between the ProTech office and field employees.
Description of Work: None. Service person did not show up for two (2) scheduled appointments. Estimate: $125.
