I don?t like the way they do their financing because the number that shows up on my credit report is twice as much as I paid. They said they could do that because that?s what it would be if I pay it off at the percentage over time. The work on the house itself was good. They were really good because they were professional and they installed it well. I have a really long warranty so it looks like I?m set.

I'm sorry I'm awfully late with this report. We had estimates from five companies. Dream Home was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but we believe they had the best product -- Cedar Ridge 6 1/2" beaded siding with foam insulation backing each siding piece ($15,675 for this job). It looks fantastic and we hear less sound from outside. The technicians came on time each day and cleaned up each evening. Very professional. We liked the company so much we followed up with ordering two entry doors ($4,943). Once again, they were prompt and did a great job.

The installation and the product were excellent. The marketing was absolutely horrible. It was the typical siding salesman deal about a long introduction with the typical slipping through a loose leaf binder to show crummy products and ultimately arriving at the product that Dreamhomes were selling. The presentation was designed to make them look superior. We would have bought the siding anyway. The other thing was the irritating deal where in exchange for virtually nothing if we made a decision at that moment and signed the contract at that time, we could get it at an incredibly reduced price. We were able to afford the siding. The finished product turned out to be great. There was a huge difference between the marketing and the installation.

We were approached by Dreamhome representatives, including the company's president, who were canvassnig our neighborhood trying to drum up business. We were offered a free gutter cleaning if we would allow a salesman to stop by and tell us about their gutter replacement products. I clearly stated we were not in the market right now for such a product, but if they insisted, and if there were no strings attached to getting the gutter cleaning, we would hear what they had to say. I was contacted by the company and they were very good about following up and contacting me regarding the sales appointment. We were visited by the director of marketing who gave a strong, one hour presentation on the products. He was very professional and likable. I kindly declined after I was given the various prices and indicated I would hold on to his information if we do get some money and could buy the Dream Home product. In the meantime, he indicted he would have someone out Monday morning (this meeting was on a Friday) to clean our gutters. It has now been over four weeks since we were told our gutters would be cleaned. I lived up to my end of the deal and listened to their offer. They have not fulfilled their obligation and cleaned my gutters. I put in two emails to one of their representatives and have received NO response. I think that's pretty poor on their part and would not do business with them if this is any indication on how they would complete a project.

Salesman showed me product, I ordered pending HOA approval, and they installed. The workers were skilled, professionals who did their work and cleaned up afterwards.

The windows replaced were the original windows and were approximately 22 years old. They all needed to be upgraded and replaced. I was very happy with the original sales representative, he was not pushy and was matter-of-fact. I don't like to be pressured!! The three men (Jason, John and Tony)who accomplished the actual work were very professional, cleaned up after the job and took time and effort to ensure all the work was accomplished. They demonstrated how the windows work and answered all questions with patience. I would use this company again.

Upon our request a marketing representative came to our house to provide information regarding French style indoor patio doors. The salesman was very professional, but we feel he had not had a lot of experience selling this type of door. We stressed to him that we wanted the exact look of the old doors we had, stressing the colonial grid configuration. He called his office several times for help in order to get everything to our specifications and we were assured that the doors will look the same as the existing old doors. We went ahead and signed a contract to replace our 23 year old French style patio doors with ProVia custom built French style patio doors. Measuring and delivery of the doors was very quick. The installation crew was very professional and efficient. When the job was finished we realized that the door was not exactly what we thought we had ordered. We had not anticipated that by choosing to have grids on both the inside and outside of the glass there will be an empty space in between the two panes of glass, that from a sideview gives a double vision effect. We were not pleased with the appearance of the door since we felt that if the marketing representative would have known the product better he could have pointed out this problem, and we might not have ordered the door. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the company and after a few telephone calls the regional manager came to our house and stressed that customer satisfaction was their main objective in handling the situation. We chose to accept a price reduction as resolution to the problem. We were very pleased with the professional attitude of all the people we dealt with. They were willing to listen to our grievance and to work with us to resolve the problem. I will not hesitate to use this company again and probably will purchase a front door from them in the near future.

Our goals were energy efficiency and noise reduction. The sales rep was very professional and helpful through process of product selection (within their product line). Measuring and ordering was painless; installation crew showed up on time. One slight misunderstanding was that we were told on the phone to have at least three windows ready and that we would have time to move furniture, window treatments, etc. as work progressed--one floor was nearly ready and we expected time to prepare bedrooms as installation began, but the crew descended on the house and nearly all rooms at once. The crew had to haphazardly make due; this was very stressful as my spouse tried to make due and care for a baby?problem was primarily the mismatched expectations. Another concern was how "violently" the old windows seemed to be ripped out, breaking wood and leaving visible gaps between siding and framing (see pix). We were ensured the site manager would speak English and address any concerns. However, he spoke broken English at best and we did not feel he understood our concerns after attempted explanations. We eventually called our sales rep and also talked to an operations manager on the phone who assured us that this was normal, the house's structural integrity was not being compromised, and that air gaps would be filled with insulation to maintain energy efficiency?we allowed work to proceed (what else can you do after all your windows are ripped out and broken), but are still not convinced we are getting the energy efficiency we had hoped or is possible. All windows look good and are much easier to clean and open; we've received compliments; one exception is a kitchen window where unfinished quarter-round was used to finish the inside trim (see pix). Also, we still believe upstairs windows were mis-measured as the sash could have been placed about an inch lower to provide symmetry in window "panes" (grids) and match previous design. The noise reduction has not been great--I can hardly tell a difference (vs. single-pane glass) and my spouse believes it is slightly better, but nothing like the quietness experienced at our last house in which windows were replaced (perhaps due to construction differences). There?s been no noticeable change in energy efficiency, but I?m still collecting data (and will account for weather and energy price fluctuations). We were told that additional information on the labor warranty and a ?40% Energy Pledge? (energy cost savings) as listed on our sales contract and the product warranty would be provided at a follow-up visit. We provided all above feedback and were promised a follow-on visit by the operations manager and the company president, which never happened. We never did not receive any additional warranty and Energy Pledge information; this remains one of our biggest concern.

I noticed a report on here about a salesman named Robert Brown. I had the same person come to my house and i found him and Dream Home to be the opposite. I did not end up doing the work YET, due to financial issues but Rob worked with me and i plan to call him back when i get the money. He spent some time with me to discuss my options and made me feel very comftorable in the company and especcially in the products. other than the triple pane windows, which are great by the way they also sell double pane Gorell. after working with me on the price we came to what i believe to be a very fair value. probably too fair, as it was lower than other similar estimates i have received. on top of that i have 90 days to call him back to get the work done at what i think is a very low price for what i am getting. i do plan to call Rob back within the next month after my re-fi is finanlized and get all new top-of-the-line windows in my house in Lorton. Even though i have not worked with them yet i am confident that Rob and Dream Home will do what they say. i would recommend them to anyone that wants the work done or even if you just want to know the price.

Overall, a terrible experience and waste of my time. Robert Brown provided an informative presentation on window replacements. After about an hour, he offered to replace 21 single pane windows with (very nice) triple pane, energy efficient Gorrell windows for a bit over $27K...$1300+ per window! When I hesitated because of the price, he offered a "special promotion" for $19.8K if I would agree not to tell anyone how much I paid and allowed a sign in my yard for 30 days. He later offered to give two free windows from his "personal coupons" and the price came to $18.4K. That still seemed like too much, so I offered to think about it for 7 days. In reviewing the Gorrell website, I noticed they were offering "buy 9, get 1 free" which Rob had never mentioned and his first two offers didn't include. I then began to question his entire story...he said he was not a saleman but the Director of Marketing making this "rare" sales call to get a critically important second customer in my neighborhood. I realized he was out to get as much money as he could from me, and had little interest in providing me value. There are other window replacement companies who provide a good product at a fair price...DHR is not one of them. Get 4-5 estimates and then make your choice!

The initial sales rep did a great job explaining all the details of window construction, proper sizing, energy efficiency, warranty and the process. Throughout the whole project all the staff we dealt with were polite, timely and kept us informed. They contacted us in a timely manner to schedule measurement at a time that was convenient for us. Likewise with the installation process. The installers are employees of the company, not outside contractors, which was a real plus for us. The installers were also polite, clean and very efficient. All windows were installed before our kids got home from school. The warranty on their product is also exceptional and made us feel secure with this purchase.

The salesman, John Hinely, was friendly, professional, and knew his product. While my wife and I swore we would not sign a contract without time to think about it, we found that the product was by far the best we'd seen and the price was better than a somewhat comparable product (this other product did not have a solid, energy efficient backing). We had no problem with signing up right away. We could have had a much cheaper product put on our house but the energy savings, durability, and beauty convinced us otherwise. The company does only siding, windows and doors so we were not surprised at how skilled the workmen were. They were professional, polite and cleaned up at the end of each day. When my wife pointed out that the shutters they were installing were the wrong color (midnight blue rather than midnight green), they simply apologized and changed them right away. It is all done now and we absolutely love it. We like the company so much we're having them come back and replace our entry doors.

Windows are high quality as was workmanship. Happy with the results.

The windows are very high quality. They were willing to work with us financially. They found a price range we wanted to work with and only did the windows we wanted done. They didn't push for more. They did a great job on the installation. They completed in a half a day. They gave us a 50 year warranty and will replace everything if something happens. The warranty does transfer if we sell the home.

They work they did was very good. the crew was very professional and efficient. However there were some follow up issues that took them a while to get to.
