One word, TERRIBLE.

We have hardwood floors though out the main level floor plan. We have had problems with splitting boards ("grain failure") through out the entire length of the floor. From the front door to the back sliding glass door, in the powder room and dining areas. The boards also do not lay flat, but are slightly pitched in some areas, and other areas have gaps. We had 2 reps from Builders floor service come out to a**** the splitting boards. After months of delayed phone calls, (they never called me back when they said they would- I always called a few times before getting a call back, even when a callback date was promised. Ultimately, after months of delays, they approved over 113 boards for replacement, even though there are more than that that are split. However, the unapproved split boards do not "meet the replacement requirements". "Which is not to say the cracking won't get worse and the board may need to be replaced in the future, but not right now". They do not call back or follow up when they say they will. They did not allow the boards to acclimate before installing and I believe this is why the boards are splitting. Upon scheduling a date to replace the broken boards they were irritated when I inquired about having the boards dropped off so they could acclimate before being installed. In fact, the person on the phone had to call me back after checking with management to see if dropping the boards off was OK, as they wanted them installed the same day they brought the boards. (Look up hardwood floor installation, acclimation is basic to Proper hardwood installation). They are unprofessional and had to go to a Vegas hardwood show before they could give me a DATE for repairs (this was after I had to call them, as they had once again NOT called me back as promised. So I had to wait another MONTH before they would Call me to find a date for repairs. I started the process last October. It is now June. I also had to contact the BBB to get them to start returning my calls as I had left multiple messages without responses. They should replace the WHOLE floor but they are only willing to fix the boards they approved that are split (Not All the split boards). As I do not have the money for a lawyer, I am stuck with bad installation and floors that will likely continue to split. This has been the worst experience with any company I have ever encountered.
