+ -1 moreI emailed and called Don, the co-owner of Bennett. He gave me an estimate on all the work. We arranged a time. They came to do the rip out and the work proceeded from there. The only complication was a delay in the materials I ordered but Don and Dale (his father) worked around it. It was a great experience and I plan to use them in a modest kitchen project soon.
Description of Work: First, this is the second home I have used Bennett Tile's services. In 2006/2007 they handled the tile work in two bathrooms in a home built in 1980. They hand cut onyx tile, engineered stone etc. The work was beautiful and my architect thought it was a superb job. In my new home, a 1952 Hollin Hills home -- I had them rip out the master bathroom and install tile on the floor and showers. They basically oversaw the renovation and did all the tile work. This included a glass mosaid accent piece in the shower.The rip out was complicated due to improper installation of the previous tile back in the 1980's. There was also sections rotted away and no insulation in the walls. They replaced the rotted wood, insulated the walls. In the hall bathroom they laid a new penny round glass mosaic floor, and cleaned, regrouted as necessary and recaulked around the tub and the corners of the walls. It looks fabulous. The original wall tiles are in good shape and are nice color and I wanted to maintain that.
