Second time I've used Ed VanderHoeven and Atlas in a year. First was a roof last summer. Totally satisfied and would highly recommend. Timely, professional, competitively priced.

Atlas inspected our roof and told us any problem was not the result of a problem roof -- but either a freak occurrence caused by ice build up or a some other problem with the house. He told us not to waste our money. His honesty is refreshing, and contrasted with others who came to look at the roof. We've had lots of rain since, and not one drop of water. Next time I have a problem, I most certainly will call Atlas.

He just did my neighbor's roof and while he was over there, he made it a point to come over and tell me that I have referred him to other people in the neighborhood, and nobody has ever had a complaint about anything that he has done. He even didn't do 2 roofs because they called him for an estimate and he told them they didn't need a new roof. You can't get much more honest than that. Anytime anybody mentions anything about a roofer, I say when they call for an estimate they should make sure to call this guy. They get 3 estimates but they end up choosing Atlas. We met him at the donut shop. He has always won out on everybody else's bid. He is my first call.

I had a disappointing experience with this company. I called to arrange an estimate. Because they don't work Saturdays or have late-day appointments, I arranged to get off early from work to meet the estimator at 3PM. This necessitated me changing my normal transport modes to and from work and asking a colleague to cover for me. When I arrived home I had a voicemail from the estimator telling me that he came by early and determined that the company was not doing "roofs that steep" now. This was perplexing because the neighbor who referred me to Atlas used the company to replace her roof last November. And her house has the EXACT same roof as my house. So I had rearranged my entire day, inconveniencing myself and others when Atlas could have simply asked me when I phoned initially if I had a Hip roof, which is a type they no longer work on. It must be a seller's market in the roofing business these days.

Several neighbors recommended Atlas Roofing and they had the best price by far of the 4 or 5 estimates we got, so we chose Atlas for the project. The experience was smooth and easy from start to finish. I would definitely recommend Atlas.

This company we have used for many years. They put a new roof on our house 10 years ago. We recently discovered a leak. They were there the next day, repaired and followed up. They are reliable dependable and have recommend to many.

I was very please with their work. Atlas repaired/replaced the roof over my carport after damage from snowmageddon in 2010. They were great in helping me match up that part of the roof with the new roof. That meant I could save some money by not replacing what I had just had done a few years earlier. The job was done neatly and with no drama. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them as well.

He is awesome and I actually recommend him to everybody. I would say that they are comparable to everybody else. The only difference is that he is honest and will tell me whether or not I actually need something done, which is why I like him so much. When other people say that I need to redo this now, he will say that I don’t need to redo now and that I probably have three more years on the life of this roof. That is very helpful and we can fully save up for that. We had a really bad wind storm that blew some shingles off the roof and he is going to come soon and repair what needs to be repaired. I didn’t bother calling anybody else.

They did an excellent job, good clean up, and good service afterwards

We were happy with them. If we have to re-roof our home, we're using them.

Since Ed had roofed our house 8 years prior, he gave us a very competitive bid on the shed as repeat customers. His crew did a terrific job, and very efficiently. Ed himself trimmed up the downspout on the shed to accommodate a rain barrel we'd purchased separately, and gave us a longer piece to swap out in the winter months when the barrel is stored away. He also hopped on to our house roof and did a gratis spot inspection, caulking down a loose shingle or two. Ed is a pleasure to work with, and will get my vote every time we need work done.

I received quotes from several roofers. Atlas wasn't quite the least espensive but did seem professional and flexible with working on using materials to bring the cost down a bit. They knocked out the job in a single day. There were a few stray pieces of shingle and nails left over around the yard but otherwise the job looked good and I feel like I got good value. Hopefully I won't need roofers on this house for another 30 years but if I did I would use Atlas again.

Atlas Roofing's rep. came within a couple of days at the time specified. He checked my roof, and said it was OK for another 5 years or so. No charge for this, since I was a prior customer.

They were about as the same price as the other provider. We were impressed with both of them but we only had to pick one. We went ahead and pick the other one but basically, Atlas would've been the second choice. The estimate experience was good. We had questions but they didn't call us back and that kind of thing was not the best but the guy who did the estimate was fine. The guy from the other company was on the ball and always call back properly so we decided to go with them.

I have a new screened porch with roof made of thick 4 foot wide custom panels with aluminum on all outside surfaces. I thought I needed roofing shingles nailed into the panels. Ed came by to give me an estimate. I was impressed with his knowledge, experience and honesty. Ed tactfully said that a plywood layer would be required over the existing roof before attaching shingles and that Atlas would need the roof manufacturers specs before attempting the shingle roofing job. Furthermore since the existing roof was not leaking we really didn't need the shingles. The manufacturer of the existing roofing later confirmed what Ed had told me. Rather than taking my business and doing what I had originally requested which would have resulted in substandard installation Ed took the professional approach and steered me in the right direction which cost me nothing. I have total and complete confidence in Atlas roofing.

Ed Vanderhoeven and his crew of Atlas Roofing Co. performed everything agreed upon in the contract, on time, and in a professional and cleanly manner all in one day. We were very pleased and have had no problems with the roof during the nearly two years since the work was done.

Atlas roofing had replaced the shingle roof on my house several years ago and the job was perfect in all respects. When my screened porch roof needed replaced, Ed Vanderhoven at Atlas roofing was the only roofer I called because of his high ethical business practices and his very fair pricing. I highly recommend Atlas Roofing. You will not be disappointed.

As it turns out, in the roofing biz my vinyl-lined swimming-pool-like roof with 4' high sides is called an EPDM roof. Only a few companies do that sort of work. Mr. Sharrow was kind and professional enough to leave the names of two companies that do that work. Having misplaced both my phone and my brain that morning, I missed Mr. Sharrow's calls telling me he was on his way and then I failed to show up for the appointment for which I later sent him a text apology. In any case, because my renters have an engineering background and are interested in this sort of thing, Mr. Sharrow spent time with them explaining things and leaving me a card on which he wrote the names of the two companies he suggested I call about my oddball roof design. I was impressed at how quickly I got an appointment, how nice it was to get one on a Saturday, and how generous Mr. Sharrow was with his information despite my having stood him up. Atlas is highly rated on Consumers Checkbook, by the way. I was very impressed.

Water was dripping through bathroom fan. We called several providers listed on Angie's list. We told them we wanted problem repaired and estimate for new roof. We set up appointments with two of them. The weather was terrible, extremely cold, freezing rain, high winds. Both company's schedulers told us it would be a few days before they could come to check problem. We understood that because of weather conditions but were concerned about possible damage that would occur. The next morning Ed Vanderhoeven called to say he would come to check the problem. He came precisely at scheduled time. He had replaced our roof in September,1994. He said our roof was in great shape and had at least 5 more years before it might need replacement. He did a temporary fix to stop the water from dripping into our bathroom. That was on Friday. Monday, Ben came and did the permanent repairs. Shortly after the work was done we left on an extended trip. Even though there were several heavy snow storms while we were away,we were relieved upon our return that there had been no more water leakage. We were extremely pleased. We felt the price was fair. Ed and Ben were very pleasant and professional. Ed's honesty about the condition of our roof was refreshing and comforting.

Since Atlas installed our roof and duct/exhaust vents for bathroom fans, we called them when we first noticed cracking in our hall bathroom ceiling in August 2013. Atlas repairperson said he caulked around vent collars and that should take care of it and no charge since our 10-year contract had expired but they won't charge. We did not have ceiling fixed and waited to see what would happen. On October 14, 2013, we saw the original crack was growing, so Atlas came out again and did something minor again. On 3/8/14 the ceiling was buckling a little 1 ft away from original crack. Atals came out again (BTW, very promptly each of the 3 times) and caulked again and said that he just couldn't figure it out if it happens again and to ask for a different person next time. No time were we charged but, of course, water leak was never fixed. We finally gave up on Atlas after 8 months of waiting to see if the leak continued and in March/April had 2 other roofers come out. and say that we needed new vent collars. Also one of them showed us a picture of all the messy caulking attempts made by Atlas. So original installation in 2004 was fine but if you need repair, we cannot recommend them for roof leaking service which is not caused by a hole in roof--about 5 years ago we had a tree branch put a small hole in our roof, and that they repaired OK.

It was excellent. They came as soon as they were able to see the roof when the snow had melted. We thought that we have not had a roof replacement for many years that it would necessary to do so and we received a very detailed report from them detailing the cost of replacement and local people that had received their services. They also mentioned that they could probably just repair our roof and we had several more years of life left in the roof so that's what we did and we were very appreciative of that.

They are quick, efficient, and careful. They removed our shingles and completely reroofed our house, including replacing some rotted sheeting in the valleys, in one day's work. (It was over a two half-day period because it was over 100 degrees.) They cleaned up all the debris and every scrap of left-over shingles. Their prices are very reasonable and very competitive. On our rental, they repaired damage to the roof caused by a fallen tree. They replaced a skylight and reroofed the portion of shingles where the tree had destroyed the roofing. Again, they did an excellent job with the repair and the cleanup. We highly recommend them!

Atlas Roofing Co. was excellent. They cleaned up after themselves, it was spotless, they didn't leave a nail. The price was in line with everything else. The quality was flawless. I would definitely use them again. The owner of the company is the one that comes out and does the estimate and he is on site when the job is done. He is there throughout the day, he will stop by. This means a lot to me.

It went great!! The crew was very professional and polite. I was extremely impressed when I asked for an estimate several years ago and the owner, Mr. VanderHoeven, told me at that time that the roof did not yet need replacing. He could have easily sold me a new roof then, but passed up the contract because he knew the work was not yet necessary. He has also replaced many roofs for my neighbors, and we have all had outstanding results!
