Their price was comprable to the other estimates we received. They did excellent work. We did a call back with him because we saw a tiny leak by the pipes in the laundry. He came back immediately. He did not see anything peaking through but went ahead and re-sealed the area. We had looked at the weather a few days ahead and noticed it may rain later in the afternoon. He sent out extra crew. They came out at 7:00 am and they finished an hour before the rain. He was on top of it. He was really easy to work with. He is a perfectionist. He was also on the job with his crew. We were very pleased.

Called this company and left a message 7/22/10 in the afternoon that I would like a quote on a new roof for a house in NW Washington DC. They called back that evening at 8 PM stating they didn't do work in Washington DC. Quick response. He was very professional. Most companies wouldn't bother to call you back.

Really well! It was a little difficult to get hold of them on the phone, but Ben called me directly as soon as he could and made arrangements to come out for the estimate. His price was good and he knew what he was doing (it was hard to find someone who did) -- the job had to reschedule once because of the unseasonable heat which affected the shingles, but he completed the job quickly and everything is now safe and up to code. I was very happy!

3/4 the way through the job, owner realized he put the wrong shingles on the roof. He meant to use the shingles which would prevent mold/mildew. He realized that he put regular shingles up. So he researched the concept of adding a zinc strip at the top, to offset the wrong shingles. He said he warrantied that this would work as well, and to call him if I had any problems. I have mold/mildew problems on the roof for over a year. I started calling him last year to come out. He returned one message to my voicemail last year, but has never come out to look at the problem. He has ignored my two phone calls to his office this year. I will keep trying

We suffered serious ice-dam damage during the winter. Atlas sent a crew to remove the snow from our roof and made arrangements to return when the weather would permit. We received a prompt response, thorough estimate, fine workmanship, and a clean job site.

We had developed a leak in our roof somewhere at the juncture of several seams/surfaces. I attempted to repair it myself with a $10 bucket of roofing tar and only succeeded in waterproofing the clothes I was wearing. I contacted Atlas, and Ben did a thorough inspection of the leak area, my botched repair, and the overall roof (20 years old). He pointed out the necessary work in the vicinity of the leak (what he would do and why), and also recommended replacement of the vent collars that were cracking and could potentially leak into other parts of the house. We had received other proposals and Atlas offered the best price, and Ben's understanding of the problem and clear explanation of the necessary work gave us the confidence to select Atlas. Atlas performed the work the day after we called to accept their proposal, and they quickly completed the job and cleaned up the work area. Several heavy rainstorms followed immediately after the repair work and there is no evidence of the leak! A good job by Atlas.

He was great. He was timely in his response and the work was done very professionally. He took all the time needed to do the work at a level of excellence that I did not see in several roofers I used before. His prices were also good.

I am very pleased! The owner himself runs the company and the crew. Mr. Vander Hoeven did a thorough inspection, really listened to what I wanted, and gave me multiple options to choose from. The roof looks sharp and is appropriate for the neighborhood. Installation took one day and the crew left the area spotless. And did I mention they were one of the lowest estimates we got? Go with Atlas Roofing, you won't be sorry!

Several years ago, Ed told us that we didn't need a new roof, but caulked a vent pipe for us for free. That honesty is why we called him this time. Ed evaluated our roof, and said that we could probably go another year or maybe two, but it would not be wrong to replace the shingles now. He gave us all the appropriate materials upon which to make our decisions. There was no pressure at all. His crew arrived at 7:00am, and worked until they were completed at about 3:00pm. Ed dropped by at least once. Ed came back the next day to inspect the final work, and to do any final cleanup (which wasn't much). I have no reservations at all about recommending Atlas Roofing.

Atlas Roofing is a fantastic company. It's owner, Edward Vander Hoeven, is an extremely professional and conscientious person. His crew did an outstanding job and completely cleaned up the area when they were finished. Atlas Roofing came so highly recommended from customers at Washington Consumer's Checkbook (before I knew about Angie's List) that I stopped getting estimates after the second one. Their estimate for the job was $2,885, compared to $5,090 from another highly recommended company!

They did outstanding work! The estimate was exactly the price of my final bill. The cost was probably higher than the average roof they would put on a house. I chose the "Four-Star 100 Year Warranty" brand of shingles which did cost more than what I previously had on my home. These shingles were of the highest quality. The owner came out while his roofing crew was working to make sure everything was going according to plan. I appreciated him taking the time to stop and check on things. They all were very professional and did a terrific job of cleaning everything up after they were finished.

Ed was wonderful! He takes pride in specializing in roofing, working with eight other employees and no sub-contractors. He came out to give the estimate, made recommendations for type and color of shingle, which was a perfect match. He estimated that he would be able to do the work in a couple of weeks, and called the next week giving us a week's notice. Ed sent us a detailed written contract of the work to be completed. We had heard from other neighbors how much they had paid for a new roof and his estimate was so low that I called to confirm. Ed stated that that was the price and he'd stand by it. I called one of his references and the person was ecstatic about the work he had done. Ed and his crew completed the job in one day. The roof looks great! I have recommended Atlas Roofing to several other friends.

I was impressed that they came so quickly on a holiday weekend. The owner came out and double checked to make sure it all went well. They were very experienced.

Although it was bid for removal of two previous roofs, it was actually three layers of roofing existing on the house. The shingles for the new roof were delivered on the Friday before the job was to begin and placed on the roof. Amazingly sturdy house as it held up weight of four roofs and a work crew. Ed and his crew showed up at appointed time and had all of the old roofs off by 1 p.m. Replaced 13 sheets of plywood, most over the Florida room which had leaking skylights. They removed skylights and two turbine fans (partially visible from the street) and put in a new attic fan (not visible from the street). Ed did not add on the cost of removing the extra roof. The new roof looked so good (changed from white to black shingles) that a neighbor had his roof replaced also with black shingles. I was very satisfied with their work. After the first rainstorm, I went into the attic to check for any minor leaks. There were none and still are none. Ed also gave me references for someone to do some carpentry work on the sun porch and the fascia boards and for a gutter installer. Both did excellent work at reasonable prices.

They did great! The people who worked on my roof were in-house staff and not temporary labor. They knew were doing. They showed up on time and finished when they said they would. Also, they cleaned up very well afterward.

They had a huge crew. They had the job done within four hours, I thought they went above and beyond by getting the job done in a timely manner. They were professional, they were priced very well, and they came out when they said they would. They cleaned up afterwords. I have no complaints.

It went very well they are very pleasant to work with. They did clean up very well after themselves and everything went fine while working with then and with the work they did.

We used Atlas Roofing a few years ago to replace our roof and they did an excellent job. They were the lowest bidder for the attic fan and did a good job and were very timely. I've recommended them to several people and they've all had good experiences with them.

Atlas came on time to give a quote. I got quotes from three companies. Atlas's bid had the most detail and the lowest price. They came on the day promised with a large crew that clearly knew what they were doing. They were completely finished by mid afternoon. The roof is great and they left my yard cleaner than when they started.

We requested an estimate for a new roof and Ed informed us that we still had many years on the roof. He was very professional and helpful! Needless to say, around 4 or 5 years from now, we will be calling him again!

ATLAS ROOFING IS THE ROOFING COMPANY YOU WANT!!! Ed knows exactly what he is doing, he is onsite most of the time, and his crew has worked with him for years. Ed is meticulous, making sure your roof is installed EXACTLY the way he would install his own roof-skylights, too. His crew cleans up daily and they make sure to cover everything--plantings, decks, bushes. No damage. In fact, they take large magnets and do sweeps--we counted 4 times around the house--to ensure that not one nail remains. Ed is on the roof with his crew most of the time they are onsite. He inspects and reinspects the job as they progress. THIS MAN and HIS CREW HAVE INTEGRITY; THEY DO THE BEST JOB THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE DONE. GET ON HIS WAITING LIST ASAP. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I've contracted with many companies, but Atlas Roofing is the best by far. They do a superlative job, clean up thoroughly, and are proud of the job they do. Oh--Ed is among the nicest people I've ever met--extremely easy to work with.

They were very polite and addressed my concern by bringing four different colors to best match the old shingles. Price was reasonable. Work was completed within a week, as promised.

THEY DID GOOD ENOUGH WORK, BUT I FELT THAT THEIR OVERALL PERFORMANCE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. THEY WERE, HOWEVER, RESPONSIVE AND PUNCTUAL, AND COMPLETED THE WORK TO MY SATISFACTION.
