Had an issue with a valve that was not letting water in to fill the toilet. The guys were quick, respectful and communicative. Had to open a small hole in the kitchen ceiling to get to the root of the problem; it was repaired and it looks good as new. Would hire again without question.

After Hours Home Improvement and their employees are some of the greatest people to work with ! They saved our flooding basement at 1am and they have been our go to contractors for years. They installed a wonderful new Sump pump system and cleaned up the mess and remodeled the basement and we have been dry ever since! Incredible customer service and extremely responsive and professional and honest.

Beware. We hired After Hours several years ago based on a referral from a friend. At first, we thought they were great. We used them for all of our quick repair needs. Recently, we have become very concerned that they are not being honest with us. We got a notice from DC Water that our water bill was unusually high. We asked After Hours to come look and see if they could figure out the problem. They did a dye test and couldn't find the issue. Without doing any further research, they told us we had to replace the water pipe connecting our house to the city mainline that runs under our front yard. We had also asked them for a quote to fix the retaining wall. After they claimed we needed to replace the pipe, they said the retaining wall was just going to end up part of the project anyway and quoted us $34,000 for everything! We thought that was outrageous and got quotes from Magnolia Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling and another company as well. The Magnolia technician came out, did some more research and first said we needed to find our meter in the yard before we could confirm the pipe in the yard was leaking because we needed to turn off the water at the meter to see if the meter was still counting water usage--which would indicate a leak. After Hours never even suggested to do that before claiming we needed to replace it! In fact, After Hours didn't even look for the meter, which turned out to be buried in our front yard! Magnolia also said it was unlikely it was the pipe anyway and probably just a problem with the meter. And they were right! The meter was just miscounting the water usage! Thank God we got Magnolia's second opinion. In any event, Magnolia said it would only be $10,500 to replace the pipe even if we needed to. After all that, After Hours had the gall to charge us $375 for "the diagnostic visit and dye test." They didn't tell us this was the cost beforehand and it's almost twice as much as Magnolia charged us for the same service--and in Magnolia's case they at least gave us an honest assessment and saved us thousands of wasted dollars.

After Hours is simply great. Responsive, professional, and high quality. They did an outstanding job replacing my weather damaged roof with a new roof and working with the insurance adjusters to provide all the data needed for the claim. I highly recommend this company.

Contacted company and received prompt estimate on work from Reid. He was very helpful explaining how work should be done and always answered any questions we had along the way. He is very well versed in electrical and plumbing codes as well as having experience in all areas related to home improvement. The work was primarily performed by Oscar who was a meticulous, hard worker who vacuumed and cleaned up every night of the 3 week project. We are very pleased with the outcome of the project and would work with this company again.

Reid, the company manager and grandson of the originial owner, is very competent and skilled at his work. He has also had formal education in his varied skills. He explains problems very thoroughly and does his best to fix them. I had a very serious and costly water leak and did not realize it until I received a huge water bill. Because of all of the snow and ice, I had not detected the leak for some time. I called Reid as soon as the County had verified the leak and got immediate response. He has a hard working crew that does not waste any time. I would like to give credit to his crew supervisor, Walter, as well. I highly recommend his family owned company and will certainly use them again.

Talk about great customer service. Not only do these guys operate during regular business hours, but I called them on a Sunday because my water heater had leaked all over my basement. They responded in 30 minutes and were at our house in 1 hour. Reid and his team are the most professional contractors we have ever seen. They placed plastic down and wore shoe covers so to not track in anymore dirt. They had a water heater in stock and removed and replaced the heater that night! We had hot water for our family and Reid and his team performed all the water remidiation and because they are licensed in every trade, it gets better. They repaired all the drywall and installed new carpet and padding that was damaged from the water. The drywall, base board and shoemolding looks better than what was there. I cannot say enough about this young man and his crew. Polite, clean and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Worth every penny because they did it right and they have wonderful reviews all over the internet. Reid also followed up later that night to see if I was able to make the repair myself. I will be using Reid and After Hours Home Improvement to replace my water heater in the very near future. Reid explained his company philosophy to me, which is treat everyone how you'd want your mama treated - what a great philosophy and he must have an awesome mom!
