Fantastic. Chris came to our house to give us an estimate and he also did the work later. He was a very nice and professional person. Most of the flies are gone, the birds are gone, and we are waiting to find out about the mice--this is normal, as it will take a little longer for the poison to work. I would definitely use again! Great customer service.

The company put out a special offer for half off services. "Affordable Pest, a top-rated service provider on Angie's List, is offering an annual pest control service for a single family home for only $240 to our members! This service includes quarterly services and on-call service as needed throughout the year. This package is normally valued at $480, saving Angie's List members $240" On the Angie's List website, the company's Provider Description is: ""Services Include: Pest, Termite & Rodent Control, Animal Trapping, Removal & Exclusion Services. Bed Bugs Elimination and more." When I called to set up an appointment, I was told that they could inspect for bed bugs but that bed bugs are NOT pests and there would be an additional $400-$1000 charge. They said pest control services do not include bed bugs, and they refused to be at all helpful, even when I pointed out the specific areas where it's very confusing for a consumer to intuit that bed bugs aren't "pests." (What they are remains to be described.) Their website circles around "pest control" and has a side area that includes pest control, rodent control, and bed bug elimination, but there is not a single place that describes what "pests" are and specifically indicates that bed bugs are not considered pests. I think I could ask 10 potential consumers on the street if they would assume bed bugs are pests and would be covered by pest control services and not a single person would say they are not. This company has gotten at least 25 new customers through their promotion and has no qualms about alienating one since they've already gotten the publicity. They waived $240 in fees for 25+ customers (at least $6K), but they could not even try to extend a $400 courtesy to me for their lack of clarity in a promotional offer. NOTE: Provider response indicates someone was going to call me. This did not happen either. Refund arrived 2 weeks after charge. No notice.

Our initial experience was acceptable with the technician arriving 2 hours later than planned but calling in advance to let us know. He informed us that what we had seen where actually "waterbugs" and not cockroaches which caused us to question his subject matter knowledge. He was friendly and prompt though, and was able to treat our home that same day. He informed us of the terms of an annual contract and called his supervisor to check on available discounts for Angie's list members. He told us that we were eligible for a $50 discount and we signed up for the service contract. He returned 2 weeks later for a follow up appt and treated a couple of areas that had not been treated the first time (at our request). However, 2 days after this follow up appt I recieved an e-mail notification from Angies list stating that a one year service contract with Afforable Pest was now being offered for 50% off the list price ( a difference of approx. $100 from what we paid). Coming so soon after our signing with this company I called to request the same discount and was told that this was a one week offer that they were not aware of until the morning of the e-mail. I wasn't satisfied with this response and a couple weeks later a manager from Affordable Pest called to ask about my experience. He explained that there had been some internal company miscommunication and wanted to honor the 50% discount. Several days later we recieved a check for the difference. We are very satisified with this sort of customer service and appreciate the willingness of the company work with us to resolve this issue. We will continue to be Affordable Pest customers and recommend them to others in the future.

The company called to let me know that their representative was on the way. He showed up on time. I pointed out the spiders and some of the insects that were attracting them. Steve couldn't identify either. He spent a lot of time telling me about his personal background, learning to swim, and his experience being stung by a wasp. He recommended that Affordable Pest come out once a quarter to spray for insects outside of the house. My husband and I had no confidence in is ability to identify and address our particular problem.

Initially ok but when I called 3 months later to ask them to come back, their phone was disconnected. How do I get a refund on unused service since I paid for an annual contract and I only chose them because of Angie's List referral. Also, I have sent 2 separate complaint emails to Angie's List and received no response. If this is poor level of service I can expect in future, I would like to cancel this too. I can't recommend Affordable Pest enough. Emmanuel has been to our house every two weeks since we moved in to check on our mouse problem and take care of any other things that might show up. He's sprayed for bugs twice and has each time inspected the areas where the mice have been and laid new bait and traps. I feel like we've already gotten more than what we paid for. Emmanuel is super professional, nice, courteous, and just funny. We really like working him and the receptionists at Affordable. I wish all the home services that we worked with were this great.

Chris came to my house on a Tuesday to inspect the situation and give me an estimate. We scheduled the work for the following Thursday afternoon. On Thursday afternoon I got a call from the company saying they couldn't make it to my house that day, and could they reschedule for Friday afternoon (the next day). I agreed. On Friday afternoon I got a call telling me they didn't have "the ladder" and wouldn't be able to come out. I was now very annoyed that they were postponing for second time (I had arranged my work schedule so I could be home). I was going to be out of town the next week, but I agreed that they could come out to the house and do the work while I was away, and that I expected a discount of some sort from the original estimate. A few minutes later I received a call from Jason, the company's owner. He apologized for the postponements and offered to fully replace the damaged wood and paint it (instead of just installing wire mesh) for the same $175. I agreed. The work was completed the next week.

We called the day before the service date to request extermination for an ant problem. They gave us an appointment for the next day between 2-4. They were courteous and professional on the phone. The day of the appointment, we called to see if they could come later and they were able to accommodate us with a 3-5 window. They said they would call approximately a half-hour before they arrived to make sure they were home. They called about 5 minutes before they arrived, but that was not a big deal to us. They showed up about mid-way in the appointment window. Emmanuel (sp?) was the technician. He was very polite and courteous, even going so far as to put booties over his shoes to protect our white carpet. He listened as I explained the problem and showed him the areas of concern. He explained what the treatment options were and even told us the chemicals he would be using. He also explained the 30-day warranty they offer and what the expected results should be depending on the extent of the infestation. He then proceeded to treat the areas (both interior and exterior) and was very thorough and neat. He took care not to spill or over treat, as we had explained that we have a 1-year old and a dog who we were concerned exposing them to the chemicals. The entire appointment took about a 1/2 hour. The fee was $175, but we used the $25 coupon they offered on Angie's List. I thought the price was fair, but not below market, which is why I rated them a B on price rather than an A. All in all, I was pleased with technician and the service he provided. The ants seem to be gone so the treatment seems to be a success.

Reasonably priced, did what they said they would do, and cleaned up well after themselves. Overall, it went very well. I would highly recommend them to anyone! They will be back next year to do a check-up.

I went with this company only because of Angie's list but I am extremely disappointed. I don't know how to reach the company or to get the service I paid them to provide. What recourse do I have? Sincerely, Tami Overby

The gentleman who arrived was very polite and told me that he would spray for the ants inside and out. I also told him that I have a problem with chipmunks and squirrel and was concerned that something had caused some damage in my attic. He crawled up there and said he didn't see any damage but thought I had a space that needed to be re-caulked. He put traps up there anyway, just in case. I was very impressed with him. He was up front with all costs and went out of his way to let me know that he would return if the ants did not go away. The $440 was for a year service contract which included this call. I would highly recommend them.

They were thorough, professional, pleasant and well priced. I intend to use them in the future and have already recommended them to others.

I had 3 different nests: brown wasps, yellow jackets and black bees around my sunroom on the deck. Yellowjackets were getting into the sunroom and I was worried that they would then get into the house. Affordable came out and treated the nests. The problem was resolved during the 24 hours following the treatments. I need to add that only a repellent was used for the black bees, which did not harm them, it just kept them from using that nest.

Fantastic! I communicated with Cristina via email to get an estimate and schedule the service. Two days later, Emmanuell was at my home, on time, with a courtesy call a half an hour before. He met with me, inspected my home, educated me a bit, and then treated the whole house. He gave me his cell phone number in case I have any quesitons or problems, and fully explained everything he saw and did. All in all, it was a very very positive experience and he was a very nice guy. I would highly recommend this company. Oh, and their estimate for an annual contract was $150 less than the other company I called, partially because of the Angie's List discount. Also, he told me he treats my neighbor's house, and she asked him a question when she saw him outside my place, and he offered to look at her place regarding her question on the spot... impressive and kind customer service!

We found termites under a bag of mulch that had been sitting near the house since last Fall. Based on Angie's list reviews, we contacted this company through their website. Heard back the next day and they scheduled an appt at my convenience. The service rep, Emmanuell, confirmed termites, explained the process used to get rid of them. We scheduled them right away, got discount for being Angie's list members. The day of the service it was raining and before I could call to see if they needed to reschedule, they called me. We scheduled it for 2 days later. Steve (the termite servicer) called back and said he was running early-could he come sooner. I said he could, but would not be home yet but they really didn't need me to perform the service. Arrived home as he was working. Everything was timely, professional, extremely easy and hassle-free. UPDATE: Soon after using them, a friend asked me if I knew a good exterminator as she had a mouse problem. I suggested Affordable Pest. She's used them a few times for various things and just sent me this e-mail yesterday: "I have been absolutely thrilled with Affordable Pest. They arrive when they say they will; their follow-up is WONDERFUL; their technicians are very friendly and polite. I cannot say enough about their service. I would HIGHLY recommend them to ANYONE. Thanks for referring them to me. If there's any way to post this highly supportive comment on Angie's list, feel free to do so."

Affordable was less expensive than the first company that gave me a phone estimate, but more costly than the company I had. However, though I have had 8 years of termite control contracts, I obviously got termites anyway, and the technicians seemed more disinterested each year. Thus I felt motivated to change and I cannot commend Emmanuel with Affordable enough. He is energetic, upbeat, quick, and responsive. He gave me his cell phone in addition to office phones and has been out to check on pests both indoors and out. After seeing a rat in the garden I was horrified and called and though he'd been here the week before and was scheduled to return in two weeks, he came back, searched thoroughly and though we found nothing, he didn't complain or say I could have waited. Instead, he assured me the bait stations would be forthcoming and would take care of the problem. I could not be more impressed. The termite treatment will be modified to accommodate that I have an extensive garden that surrounds the house. I understand they will "rod" the perimeter, and Emmanuel has repeatedly assured me that great care will be given to the major plantings that blanket the yard. Given my experience thus far, I am confident this company knows what they are doing, and are worth the cost.

We got estimates from three service providers. Affordable Pest control was the lowest estimate for the exact same treatment and chemical. The staff that came to our home were very professional. When we had a problem after the initial treatment, the technician came back and retreated. They were very easy to work with. The only reason I gave them a "B" for responsiveness is because when I called the office before 6pm on one night to report an ant invasion and schedule treatment, the person who answered the phone was quite rude. I found out the next day that the person was part of an answering service. All of the employees we dealt with personally were responsive and professional.

I was very pleased and have added an additional service of pest control to the contract.

They did the work at the end of the year, so when the seasons were changing. It took care of the immediate problem but my husband has noticed some bees are coming back. We aren't sure if it took care of the problem long term.

Overall, I am very happy with the services performed. I got an appointment very quickly, they were timely and very professional.

Affordable Pest performed its part of the projct very well. They were extremely responsive, and set the trap the day before my roof was repaired. They returned a few days later and found that they had successfully trapped the squirrel on the first try. The Affordable Pest team was careful in evicting my "tenant" into the courtyard in our neighborhood without hurting him, and the last I saw of the squirrel he was running away to the nearest tree. The project was a success!

Great, timely. The appt. time was from 4-6 and the tech. was here at 4. Detailed explanation of work, comparing the price of ant removal to other companies on Angie's list, they were much cheaper. 60 day guarantee of work and they will be back out in 2 weeks to make sure the ants are gone for good. Tech was very friendly and professional, highly recommend.

Great service. He went to look in our basement and noticed a place that looked like an animal had gotten in. We next found a dead chipmunk near the waterheater. He said he would remove it (which made me very happy knowing I did not have to do it or wait until my husband got home.) We also noticed crickets in the basement (you can see I never go down there.) As well as a number of small holes in and around the basement (it is not finished) where small animals and bugs can enter. He went upstairs and moved the stove to see if there were mouse droppings and there were. He told me the first course of action would be to set out food trapped that would make the animals thirsty so they will go outside to seek water and not die in the house (I really liked that part and it's also safe for young children, which we have.) He will come back and see how much food is being eaten/droppings color. Once we think there are no more rodents he will plug up the holes so they can't get back in. For the bugs he sprayed the outside of the home. It was raining so he could not check the outside for termites but saw no termite damage on the inside. However, it was great that I called when I did to fix the rodent problem as it is spring and they would soon be having families in my basement. We decided to go with a contract since this one time did not fix the problem. For the $400 contract (saved $40.00 by being an Angie's list member) they will spray 4 times a year (our neighborhood has had a problem with hornets too) and come out any time we need them. For now it was the right move for us until we continue to plug up all the holes, which we hope to do with a home energy audit/someday finish the basement.

They were prompt and affordable. The guy who came over was very pleasant and helpful.

I have not met them in person. They gave me the quote over the phone. Their quote seemed good but I have not hired them yet. I was comparing their prices with 2 other companies. They quoted $400 for an annual contract. It seemed like a fair price. I called them once and they gave me the quote right away. They seemed professional. They did not offer to come out or sell themselves. They answered my questions but they did not follow up or anything. I am considering using them.
