Affordable Pest LLC

This is our 3rd of 4 quarterly visits as part of our annual plan. They called ahead to let us know they were coming to spray the exterior, and asked if we had any interior issues. I told them there had been a mouse in our basement, so they arranged an appointment so they could take care of that at the same time they sprayed the exterior. He arrived on time, and had called 30 minutes in advance to let us know they were on their way. He refilled our mouse bait and laid new sticky traps. He checked our basement for mouse activity and placed extra bait were there was more evidence of activity. We usually have an ant problem when it warms up, so he applied ant bait where we typically have ant problems.

Emmanuel discussed in detail the treatment method and application. After trying to catch the rats on my own without success, Affordable Pest was able to catch the rats after the initial visit. Since I was the last customer of the day, Emmanuel ran out of traps, but another service provider appeared the next day. I did have to make several calls for them to come out, but they eventually showed. I have the opportunity to receive a $75 follow-up. They did a good job.

Emmanuel has been our technician and is very thorough and knowledgeable. He has explained everything in detail so that we fully understand what we are dealing with and how he is approaching the problem.

No further evidence of mice, but I wish the technician had more advice about how to keep them out of the house. The 60+ year old frame house seems very vunerable.

I paid for the Angie's List big deal - $250 for a year's services. Every time they come by, they charge us the one-time service fee. I have to call and get it deleted. Very annoying.

They were fine. They were cheaper than the other quotes that we got. They came on time. They provided an estimate and stuck to it. I would use them in the future.

Very thorough and courteous. Conscientious.

I tried some of the big companies and I was not satisfied because they didn’t call me back and they didn’t have a person answering the phone. Affordable Pest had somebody who talked to me and it is a small company. They had somebody out in person and I liked them. I still have problems with some of the pests but I have lot of animals so I can’t put the animals when I get the house fumigated. Then it was cold weather and there was no place to put the animals and they said they have to be away for at least five hours. Now I have to wait for it to become warmer but I have a contract with them for years. I wanted them to come in November but that was time when they said that I had to get my animals out for five hours. They first came in August and then they came once a month. The deal is I can call them anytime in the year and they charge $500 for a year. I would definitely call them again. They are very human, personable and they talk like they take all your concerns into consideration. They have only few people who work for them so I know who will come. I think they charge the same as others. One time the guy came very late and they called him and they called me immediately.

I have a service contract with them. They have done a great job at eliminating the stink bugs on my property.

We used one of the offers. We had a very mixed service from them. They were Angie’s List rated service. We had a one year plan with them and we had a couple of bad experiences. We had some really bad service from them in the first couple of visits and so we called them up and told them that they need to do it properly. Then they sent out their best guy to come and do some stuff for us. In the end they were really thorough and really helpful. We didn’t have to do much to get them to do that. They can be really good but you got to stay on top of the price. For the price they were a reasonably good. I think you should pay attention to the service they are giving. Based on the special offer we got the price was good. We have an understanding with them on how to work and which of their contractors not to use.

I saw a rat yesterday & called this exterminator today (12/20/11), who has received good reviews with Angie's List. I saw that they are located in Virginia, but they said they service MD, DC & VA. The receptionist first asked me where I was located & I told her College Park, MD. She told me they would not have an appointment available until after the New Year. I guess this is good news for them, but horrible for me. I recognize Christmas is 5 days away, but it's hard to believe that you can't get an exterminator for 2 weeks. I'll try another company.

Technician was punctional, and very professional. He asked if we had any particular concerns, and explainedthe treatment plans.

Very happy! We would call them back without hesitation if problems existed in the future. They deserve the A rating!!!

I got this company off angie's list, it had an A rating based on over 100 reports. Years before I had hired a big name company in the area and had a terrible experience with them. They would come at unspecified times, even though I had an appointment for a certain date and time. This meant they were unable to treat the inside of my home, as I was at work. They also claimed to have performed the exterior work, however it was clear that it was not actually done. Basically I was paying them to do nothing. I canceled my contract. So I was a bit worried about trying again with another company. After 7 months of working with affordable pest I have to say that their A rating is deserved. In fact I would give them an A+. Things I like about them. The 2 service techs I have worked with, Emmanuel and Billy, have been great. I like the continuity of having the same people do the job. In the beginning some of my appts. got messed up. I learned that even though you set up the appt with the technician you should call the office afterwards and follow up, as they are really the ones that set the final appt. Once I started doing that I never had another problem. Your appt is a 2 hour window. The tech always calls about 30 min before he expects to arrive. If any other problem arises the company will contact you. The office staff is pleasant, polite and efficient. I found the techs to be very knowledgeable. Before each treatment they assess the problem again and alter the treatment as needed. My carpenter ant problem is greatly improved and the company has been great to work with. The second half of my contract will end in May 2012.

He was very friendly, professional, and punctual.

"Chris" arrived on time and did a great job exterminating a nest that housed hundreds of large wasps. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and thorough. He came back a couple of days later (included in the original price) to follow up and make sure all the wasps were "gone". An excellent service and value for the work performed!

I was very happy that they didn't try to sell me something. Honest and thorough.

We did not received our September service as stated in the contract. I should not have to call every three months when there is a contract in place.

Chris was very polite and professional. He explained what he was going to do and how it would work. The treatment was quite effective and he came back for a recheck. I am very happy with the service and highly recommend them.

He said that they would come back out two more times for no charge. Everything was guaranteed for 60 days.

We had a bad bed bug problem throughout our house. We got three estimates for a full house treatment; $2800, $1300 and $700. Affordable was not only the lowest bid, they gave us a six-month guarantee. The other two offered no guarantees; they would come three times and if at the end of those three treatments we still had bed bugs (which is quite possible with bed bugs), we would have to pay in full again. As it was, Affordable came back six times, the last few times to treat only one room where the infestation was worst. They always came when they promised, answered our questions and assured us that this problem would be solved. And it was. Emmanuel was particularly calming in the face of a serious, nerve wracking problem the likes of which we had never dealt with before.

We have a contract with them. They are really, really nice and very customer friendly. They usually send the same person out to check on things. If we have an urgent need, they will come out and do specific things such as set traps for mice and they will come back in a couple of days to check on them. It is a good service.

I did not appreciate the delays in service though I have nothing negative to say about their schedule Cassandra. The tech squad on the other hand let me down.

Overall i'm satisifed with the serivce provided. I'm a new homeowner and Chris did an excellent job explaining everything to me. Chris is very knowledge and pleasant. :) Che'
